    Good News 1 - Emily's car passed MOT :D
Good News 2 - my 2 Rituximab appointments have arrived :? First on 23 September. Second on 10 October. Strikes permitting.

Chester will definitely get his driving lessons, he's 17 in February.
Besides, Campbell will be badgering him for lifts when he's passed.

We too have rain Got aches on me pains and pains on me aches. Come on MTX. :o

OH was complaining about all the cobwebs he walked through on his way downstairs. One of the benefits of being a midget. I used to be the official spider shifter when the kids lived at home. Can't move quick enough now. Emily often stood at the top of the stairs screaming "mum, spider, NOW!" as i ruhed up to do my stuff. RUSH, me.

Love to all, puss cats and doggies. and families. xx

Aiden, you do make me laugh with your spiders. They don't bother me but I have the odd slug sliding across the kitchen when I go in to check before I go to bed. Nearly makes me sick sweeping them up. My daughter's dog, Mango, sounds like your Tosca. He's 13 now and sleeps most of the time but can run like a whippet when he's out. Ooooh, a cake with no calories. Wouldn't that be wonderful.

Joan, my granddaughter is 3, a lovely age to be. Hope your weekend is going well.

Toni, Arthur sounds as if he was full of character. This one was quite laid back - I'll just laze about here, think I might move in then I'm off, not interested. I'm sure Daisycat loved her presents. You got your coal just in time. It'll be lovely having a real fire in winter.

Barbara, we all moan about our pain now and again. It does help get it off our chests a bit. I don't think much will be done if we report animals we don't feel are kept well. I reported a dog that was kept outside in all weathers but was told there was nothing that could be done as long as they were fed and watered at least once a day. I've heard that taking 2 short flights instead of 1 long one can be cheaper. Same with trains. Don't know how that can be.

Kath, some good news for you. I bet Emily is over the moon. Not long till your Rituximab and not long till Chester gets his driving lessons. Then Campbell will be happy too.

Managed to send half an hour in the garden before the rain started. I've been studying the rest of the day. I think I'm all studied out. Can't think straight. I did think about giving up but I'm more than half way now but still not caught up with the others. And I'll regret it if I do. Hope everyone is having a good weekend despite the rain.

Evening Kath Toni Mig Christine Barbara Eizabeth and all.............

The day started with a phone call from my Cousin, to say that her Mum had passed away. Bless, she was my favourite Auntie, she had Alzheimers for many years, but still recognised me, even up to a year ago, when they came to my Mums funeral. Bless her. I knew as soon as OH said who was on the phone, I said, I know what you are going to tell me.

Kind of an end to an era, with my parents and now V's parents gone, but fondly remembered.

We went round to see Mum n Dad, her legs are bad, very dark red and swollen, but GP was not over concerned on Friday :? I said, if you get ANY pain, weeping, or they become hot to touch, then go to hospital, asap. There was nodding and yes, but I don't think my concerns went home.
Oh Brother and wife came over, so we had a good natter and a catch up before coming home, ( all 50 yards) pouring with rain, but we were in the car, how lazy is that I ask, but, if you cannot do it, then that's that.

I know Toni, I will start to freeze mid October - I am just about ok at the moment, I have even had the tumble dryer on and no windows open, (I am not inviting 8 legged creatures in).
I think it is the everlasting cheesecake. Oh the joy.
I have read great praise of the conker extract working, hence I have umpteen sprays around the house, alongside umpteen spiders. Mmmm, something is not working.

Glad Daisycat enjoyed her Birthday, Tosca is well petted and fast asleep on the back of the sofa. Cookie came asking for some mayonnaise, (which they all like). Pepe just asks for something, all the time, lol.

An open fire, no, I would melt, like the witch in the wizzard of oz. They do look lovely and the pub that we like has roaring log fires, in the rooms, which are nice on a winters day, for about 10 minutes, then I am outside, wafting.

I am impressed that you met Mrs Charnley Barbara. Can I find a photo of a Charnley chair, can I heck as like. I will persist. I can find the charnley wedge, splints etc.
They can all BITE - oh, thanks Barbara, lol. I know they can nip and some, like the false widow, can leave a nasty bite. OH picks them up, while I have the colly wobbles. They live more down south where it is warmer, says me, praying for a frost.
I hope you neighbours are home safely, I hear the storm is out in the Atlantic, fragmenting.

Good news and good news Kath. Let's hope the Drs can decide on a deal and not go on strike.
Hugs for the MTX to kick in and help with those aches and pains asap.

Oh I will deal with the slugs Christine, I can cope with them. You are doing so well with the studies, credit to you.

Hi Joan and Mig and Elizabeth and all.

My Carpels are sending my hands totally numb, so I will have to stop. Leaving lots of love, take care all. XXXX Aidan

Hello mig you are kind to make sure your daughter gets enough sleep. I do that too then I think of how little you get when you're a Mum (parent)

Good luck with your apt. Lucy and I had ours when we joined our new practise never had them before.

Hi Joan my friend is doing well I think lots of memories to talk about and I don't mind listening :) I hope today isn't too cold for walking the dogs :)

Aw Aidan :( I am sorry. It is sort of the end of an era I understand. ((())).

Mmm...I think it might be down to you to check up on Mum's legs are refer to doc as needed. Nice to see you bro and if you can't walk 50 yards then you can't! It's not lazy, just necessary.

Is Pepe allowed mayo too?? I rather like it myself even if it is fattening. strokes to Tosca, Cokie and him from me :)Tia has a few extra sp****s to sort out for me am trying to keep webs under control. She will do it later. Sorry about the conker stuff :(

Yes an open fire. I have positioned my car the other side of the room so I am away from it and can see the church instead which will be lit on winter's evenings. Paul likes overheating so his chair is there next to it ;)

I thought it was funny that Joan read carpels as carpets!!! hehe! Not funny though really ((()))

Daisycat used to eat the slugs you know Christine at our old house. Once one got into the plug socket in the conservatory and blew the whole electrics

It will be lovely having a real fire, but I don't like overheating either so it won't be on too much the problem with them is you can't turn them down!!!!

I think you are doing amazingly with your studies I know I really couldn't be bothered myself. So I admire your tenacity. That was a big word

I think it will dry up soon - I want to go outside desperately.

Kath how brave were you! Official spider catcher!! OH can hoover those webs for you now. I am so very pleased you have your dates for ritux :)

    Yes "come on MTX!!!"

Lots of positive stuff happening for you.

Hi BarbaraI certainly used to love a real fire too. Paul will do most of the work whether he likes it or not hehehe! I am eager to see the fire guard when it comes tomorrow. I used the money we got for selling the old table on ebay.

I bet you do miss looking at the fire in your wood-burner. Have you thought about getting a lava lamp - I love looking at mine

I hope your neighbours got home ok. Probably well jet-lagged after that journey even if it did save a bit.

Right better get on am doing Nothing so far today!!

    Love

    Toni xxx

Well Aidan. first Joan thinking your carpals were carpets, then I thought you said you were in the tumble dryer :o but I thought no, not even our Matron - so I re-read. What a relief. So sorry about your favourite Aunty.
    b0010.gif

Toni, should we ask for your autographs? At least the rest of the village will know you now. :D

I'm feeling quite a bit better today, just thought I'd let you know. :D

    Good afternoon.

I'm taking it as easy as can be as I have zero energy and lots of aches and pains. Trouble is I rely on others and OH keeps getting asked to help family/friends with scooter fixing, taking family cars to garages in far away places as they are 'too busy working' and accompanying friends to help them decide whether this or that is a bargain.

I am as usual being left to get on with it

Aidan I'm absolutely with you on the spider dating 'website' (no pun intended)! Fancy them being above your bed! I'd move it away from the wall if I was you.
I hardly see them here so I am lucky but the few I do see leave me a wreck. I used to see hundreds when I lived in Bucks and had a field at the back and used a special spray that killed them. I can tell you now that they were bigger in Bucks than further South where I was born. They were everywhere! I think you can get a plug in sonic thing that deters them but no idea if it works. There's also a certain smell they dislike.
Sorry to read your Aunt has died. I've only got the one Aunt left now. I shall dread the day she passes.

Christine sounds like your day at the butterflies didn't go to plan. I hope it didn't cost too much to get in. I spent about £70 visiting Drusillas and Dan flipped because of the noise and I had to take him out. they had meerkats there with a bubble viewing place for kids. Of course Dan went in and wouldn't come out. I got a bit angry with the general public for their 'looks' but one lady was lovely and said nice, reassuring things so she got an extra special smile. I actually wanted to hug her!

Dans 17th birthday tomorrow (no driving lessons sadly but good luck to Chester). He's got his new rocking chair and last years present, the bubble coloured lights, are now in situ so all is well. He's got a new social worker who seems a bit useless but the least I have to do with them the better.

Hope the coal got delivered but don't think you'll need it for awhile Toni. New family...did you pass the scrutiny test. I'm sure the village will love you x

    Love to Joan.

Barbara thank you for telling me about the retro pub. My computer is nutz at the moment so it would't let me look but it is on facebook so will be trying again soon.

We have a open fire but hardly ever use it, maybe Christmas Eve and day to get in the spirit. Every year I say to OH it needs sweeping and every year he says he's done it but I know he hasn't because I would surely know if he had? I bought a fancy fireguard last Christmas.

Kath so glad you have your dates for ritux. not long now. Would they be cancelled due to the strikes?

    posting after editing...very risky.

Elizabeth I am sure there accent was Southern that why I thought you might know then and there scooter friends...Happy Birthday Dan..hee 17 bless him..a rocking chair how lovely and calming... :)
Toni how brilliant in the village mag...you can frame that ..they did put a picture in didnt they...yes let Paul do all the hard work...you admire that fireguard :D ..sorry but I had to laugh at the lava lamp..I do like them but much prefer a fire...
Mig..its lovely of your daughter to take you shopping.glad she could stay in bed a bit longer..good luck at the clinic I will be in your pocket
Joan that is so funny..Aiden polishing the floor..(sorry Aiden)I read all sorts wrong so you are not on your own...its good to laugh...
Aiden I am sorry to hear about your Aunt..like you say end of an era..my aunts and Uncles died many years ago now but I still miss them..its good you have been a nurse and can keep and eye on Mum..these doctors dont seem to take thing seriously enough when we get older... :x
Christine I think your brain needs a rest now...I am sure its all in there somewhere...now slugs we get up in a morning and there are slugs stuff in a few places..not a clue how they get in...I have tried salt but they still come...by the way my neighbour said they would never do the 2 flights again... :o
I hope that is everyone...I am just looking at my carpet..and it really needs cleaning , we usually hire the rug doct*r..but we will have to work up to it last time OH was shattered..they are very heavy but do a brilliant job..
    Right more cheesecake please.. :)

Aiden, I'm sorry to hear you have lost your auntie. You'll always have good memories though. Just as well mum has you to look out for her. I hope they do as they are told and don't leave it if mum's leg gets worse. I think we need to do a swap. I'll remove your spiders and you can remove my slugs. Came downstairs this morning to find one sprawled out over my tea towel. :o

Joan, thunder and lightening? I like a good noisy storm. I hope it didn't keep you awake.

Mig, your daughter must need her sleep. I hope you enjoyed your shopping.

Toni, churches do look lovely when they are lit up at night, especially in winter. So you are sitting in your car on the other side of the room. Bleugh about Daisycat eating the slugs. My daughter used to buy single bricks you could light in the grate. Gave off enough heat but not too much. Next week is supposed to be quite a good week so hopefully you'll get out then. Oh so you are famous now. The New Family.

Kath, looks as if we are all either typing the wrong words or reading them wrong. Gives us all a laugh anyway. I'm so glad you are feeling a bit better today.

Elizabeth, sorry to hear you are in pain and lacking in energy. It's not fair relatives get all that help when you could be doing with it. Fortunately, it only cost £4 to see the butterflies as I only had to pay for myself. How terrible of people to look as they did. It would be much better if they asked if they could help. Happy birthday to Dan for tomorrow. I hope he has a good day.

Barbara, yet another lost post. I'm sure there must be a gremlin stealing them all. Good to hear your neighbours got home ok and collected shell. My son had a good look round and couldn't find how the slugs are getting in. I tried putting salt across the doorway and along the cupboards on the floor. Didn't help.

The felt on my shed blew off a while ago. Someone told me about a rubber covering but it was going to be a few hundred pounds. (It's a concrete roof and joined on to next door's). My son suggested a waterproof liquid which is used for concrete drives so hope that works. I think I'd better copy this post just in case it disappears when I click submit. I keep getting distracted by Victoria. Is anyone else watching it? Had to record Poldark.

evening to one and all -

I don't think I can write a thesis tonight, those CARPEL tunnels are still biting, not to mention the crumbling back, so I won't, lol.

I had to laugh Joan, posting on the carpet - now, that would be a thing. It would take two strong people and a winch to get me up. Then Being in the tumbe dryer Kath, lol. I can get an arm in, but not right to the back, lol. OH has to go deep into the machine. Glad you are feeling a bit better today, may it continue.

I have to re read what I have written, correcting the complete jibberish that I type, a bit like Hilda Baker. Now I am showing my age.

So, mentioned in the Parish magazine as the new family, how lovely is that Toni. Mentioned in dispatches. Hugs back to everyone and fusses to Daisycat super mouser. I don't blame you for sitting as far as possible away from the fire. I would have to be outside....Paul is most welcome to soak up the heat.

I am jealous that you don't have so many spiders Elizabeth. To present, today, there have been no sightings - you wait, I will wander off and come face to face with one and shriek. We have three plug in sonic things, alongside all the spider sprays. I know they don't like conkers, or the extract of conkers, but it doesn't harm them, it is supposed to put them off, well, these are big enough to conquor a conker, lol. Roll on winter.
Glad Dan enjoyed the meerkats, I would have been there for ages too. How rude of people to give looks. The lady sounded lovely, who was kind. it costs nothing does it, a little kindness. Happy Birthday Dan.

We were thinking about our carpets Barbara, there are lots of compaines locally that will come in and clean them, with big professional machines. I did use a rug Dr a long time ago in another house, boy was it hard work, no way am I letting OH wear himself out doing that. I guess we could have new carpets, now, there's a good thought :)
Oh I do keep an eye on everyone, next door, we saved her life, she was having a heart attack and I was there pumping GTN spray in with one hand and giving the ambulance a what for with the other. "if the patient goes into cardiac arrest, put them on the floor" I said can I stop you there, just get the blXXXX ambulance here, now, I will take care of the rest, I was a nurse for 26 years love. She said, oh, the fast responder will be there in minutes...............within the hour she had been admitted and two major arteries stented. Who's a little lfe saver then :) She loves us to bits, before and after. Never a dull moment here.

I digress. Did you mention cheesecake Barbara?

We will certainly do a swap Christine. I can cope with the sluggies. On the T towel, now that would have me getting the bleach out. Mum's legs are not as bad and she goes back to the GP in the morning and will then meet up with us for a coffee and scones. I will be quizzing as to the GP visit. We have the same GP, wonderful he is, so so kind. I remember him ringing me at home when my Mum passed away.
I do have fond memories of family get togethers, which no one can remove. :)

There is a product for flat roof, roofix it is called, might be worth a look, supposed to be good.

Right, I must move, I am setting, from sitting. Love to everyone and anyone who I have missed. Take lots of care all. XXXX Aidan

Happy Birthday to Dan from me!!

(No driving for my Lucy either Elizabeth - especially after the recent seizure :( ).

    p022.gif

I also would have given the nice lady at the Meercat enclosure a big smile.

I imagine 'they' all think you are 'fine' (when you're not!) and your OH is free to help them!! Cheeky and thoughtless some people are :(

I suspect your OH hasn't done the chimney too neither would Paul  It wouldn't surprise me if you fireguard is similar to mine!! When it comes I'll post a photo :)

Aidan I think the fire will be lit, but not as often as Paul might like. I reckon he can overheat. There is also a window right next to me if needs be

Ah yes fame at last!! the kids loved it!! The mag is called Bednall Banter

Now listen to this....yesterday Paul was at work and I could go out of the front door.....there was an arac***d about 5 inches across above the door:shock: Luckily Tia's bf happened along and soon dispensed with him.

Charley's gf could have done as well, but at slightly less than 5ft herself maybe not!!

Well done you keeping next door alive :) could you move in next door to me please?

I hired a carpet machine years ago and broke my toes slipping towards the skirting

Get a 'man' or woman out!

I can't wait to see the sweep at work tomorrow :)

    Christine
I know Daisycat doesn't need slugs anymore now :) She has better things to catch!!

I think slugs follow a 'path' and you would need to intercept them at the beginning of the path somehow?? They could even be underneath the carpet

I would be very interested in those single coal bricks - where can I get them?

LOVE Victoria!!! It's brilliant and Lucy is watching avidly too :) My Mum would have been so pleased to see her taking an interest.

Oh Dear Barbara poor neighbours (poor other passengers too - I am sick if others are!!), but at least they are home safely and I hope had a great time.

I love my lava lamp!!! I really do!!! Charley bought it for me years ago  You can use them like flames to help you meditate/relax!!

Sorry your post went AWOL. I wonder whether you posted at the same time as someone else. I've done that and not spotted it gives you the chance to review it before posting it. If you didn't spot it and just closed down???

Last time we had our carpets done we hired a 'man' who did it at a reasonable price too.

they were almost bone dry and looked like new :)

Love to Joan when she happens along and our other friends

Sorry, but I'm feeling thoroughly depressed today. My son has been very secretive, and I noticed his name is no longer on my friends list. So I did a search on FB. It came up with a page with a photo of him and a blonde woman, wrapped around each other. I know her name, she is 48, with a son, possibly in his teens - maybe older. Jonathan is 33. I don't know what's worse, leaving his wife for another woman, or keeping it secret, or unfriending me on FB. I've done nothing but have a quick blort* on and off.

    * blort = cry

Toni the fire guard is lovely and I almost bought that one (d*b*r)! I'm sorry about the driving as I think she started lessons didn't she?

Oh Kath I'm so sorry but you know they rarely leave home unless there is someone else or they are kicked out. They never want to be at fault so use all sorts of excuses and lies but eventually they get caught out so I understand how you are feeling.

Barbara you made me laugh about hubby thinking he can do everything! That's one reason nothing ever gets done here because OH says he'll do it but never does.
I was so upset the other day because his Dad is a builder and has done his Sisters drive and I've been asking to get a small bit tagged on our current driveway for several years because there is a drop when I get out of the car and also it leaves a path for people to walk to the front door without treading on our muddy lawn.

Oh crumbs Aidan. My Dad with his 1st heart attack we lived a very short walk to the GP surgery ( probably the nearest possible house) and the GP grabbed his bag and ran straight over but the 2nd was the neighbour. He had 7 years inbetween the two and for that we are grateful.

Sorry Dan wants to use the computer.
Thank you for his birthday wishes. We had a visit from his Aunty and cousin but he hides away.
All the best and love to those I haven't yet replied to

Thank you my lovely friends. I 'spoke' to my DIL last night she made me feel better by telling me has done it to everyone. I can still get to him on the mobile. He's always been secretive though. I'll change the subject or I'll sound like a paranoid mother.

Toni, Emily would love your fire guard. She bought one that turns into a table. Haven't seen it though.

Sending everyone love and hugs. xxx

Kath I hope things settle down very soon..its an awful worry...
Elizabeth yes he thinks he can do the jobs but getting them done is another thing...my OH has a BIL he is a joiner and never helps here..but my OH does his pluming..you get someone to the path...and see what he says...what a shame Dan hid from his aunt but has long has he enjoyed his birthday that is what matters..
We went tp pick up Niamh on her first day with her mum and dad..she came bounding out with a picture..and says she enjoyed it, after us asking about 5 times  ...they put Dils mind at rest and said they are monitoring her, re the autism..has her nursery was at a different school..
Has anyone known it to be so humid..I hope that Aiden is managing with the AC..its horrible here :too-hot:

Oops, I did it again. Wrote out a post and took too long so it disappeared.:lol:

Kath, some (((hugs))) for you. I know you are very upset.

Elizabeth, I hope Dan has had a brilliant day.

Aiden, rest those carpels. Thanks for letting me know about the Roofix. We've got some 'stuff' now bit will bear it in mind if this doesn't work.

Barbara, great to hear that Niamh enjoyed her first day at school.

Joan, hope you are having a good week.

Toni, love the fire guard. It is very pretty.

Mig, looking forward to trying your tomatoes, mushrooms, meats and cheeses.

I'm going to a funeral tomorrow. My dil's 100 year old granddad. He would have been 101 next month. Up until a couple of months ago, he was walking a mile and a half each way every day to get his paper but he fell off a chair while trying to change a light bulb and went rapidly downhill. He's had a good and happy life though.

OK, who put the heating on and turned up the humidity to sill levels.

It is horrid at the moment, the past 24 hours or so have been amazonian. Outisde it is like walking through treacle. Barbara, I hope you are ok and can keep as cool as possible. Glad to hear that Niamh had a good first day at school, pictures as well. Bless. Good that they will monitor things.
We have had the AC on from lunchtime onwards, thank goodness, I would be in a heap otherwise. New carpet Barbara :) I am working on having the ones we have steam cleaned, professionally. They have big machines in a van, with pipes all over the place. We passed one house in the village who was having them done and now I have forgotten who the firm was.

The sun dried tomatoes sound yummy, oh and cheese, with the mushrooms, let me know when they arrive in the cafe and I will take a nibble. Did Barbara mention lemon cakes? I always remember cakes, lol

Kath, sending hugs, it is a horrible time when relationships go pear shaped. I am glad that you had a chat with your DIL and found out that he has decided to unfriend everyone on FB, well, things done in haste are often repented at leisure. Not at all paranoid, concern, is not paranoid, by any means.

Love the fire guard Toni, very good taste and choice. Now, spiders, shudder. That was a biggy over your door. I would have been a big ninny and gone into a cold sweat. Brave family members, all credit to them. SO glad OH does not bat an eye, just picks them up and throws them out. I go round armed tooth and nail, lol.
I am sure the weather will change and Paul can enjoy the fire. I can talk to you through the open window, I will be outside. We can have a cake sampling evening.

Joan I hope the warm weather is easing the pains. Sending lots of love.

Elizabeth, that is mean and then some, regarding helping with your drive. I am not surprised you were upset, I would be too. I agree, get someone in to do it, then sit back and smile. Sometimes people cannot see the bigger picture and a little kindness costs nothing really. I will send vibes for a wee pang of guilt on their part. :D

Oh yes, it is all go here, we have had people knock on the door, Aidan can you come - errrrr, just let me get both crutches........off I toddle.
I remember when I lived in Skipton, one neighbour came round and said would I take a look at her hubby, he would not eat his toast and would not get out of bed. Well, he had had a major stroke, ( I didn't say it directly to her, but I rang the GP, who I new anyway and told her in nursey speak, she came out right away). Oh bless, the poor lady was so upset. Sadly he passed away shortly after going into hospital. There are many times when you cannot make someone better.

Chrsitine, I hope things go ok for you tomorrow and that a fitting tribute is paid to a man of great years, experience and changes over the decades. How the world has changed over 100 years. He was an inspiration, walking all that way every day.

Who did I miss? Oh dear, apologies to anyone I have not said Hi to.
Carpels are being a pain again. I might ask about having them done..............will give it some thought.

Everyone take care and keep as cool as possible. It is not supposed to last very long (thank goodness). We want autumn and seasons of mists and mellow fruitfullness.
