Oh Toni. Feeling for both of you, and hope that Lucy doesn't feel too bad when she wakes.
Thank you for keeping us up to date, our beautiful friend . Some flowers for you too. Well a flower anyway.
Aidan, you most certainly did have a ward. I remember a beautiful Duvet with Sunflowers.
OOH Joan I'm glad you found a tree to sit under. We had no rain here. Might be a bit different tomorrow. :?

Another update Lucy tried some crisp and ribena..and was sick then her BP plummeted to 81/46 so she fainted ..I'm not surprised.. but bless her she want to go home..she a one of is Lucy..Paul is there now so I think Toni will appreciate his company.. dont you just worry..Love

oh thank you for letting us know Barbara, I have been whittling all afternoon. HDU will look after Lucy well, they soon have people on the mend and Lucy will be the first one to be wanting to be on the move.
I see she has had a sicky episode, probs the aneasthetic or pain relief will be doing that. They can soon give something to ease the nausea, I will pop out the pocket and ask. Bless. I am not surprised she fainted, that is a low BP. Gelofusin please Sister. Glad Paul is there too, his support will be very welcome.
Continued blessings to one and all.
I did have a ward, didn't I Kath, only a couple of beds. We will have to get it ready for Lucy and a "visitors" bed too, for Toni.
Oh, it is all go. I will check in later, send our love Barbara, we are all there with them, if not in body, we are in spirit.

thank you Barbara, just remembering what wards are like now, pressure for beds etc, no one is left a moment longer than possible. So glad that Lucy is home and Mum is in charge. Rest and recuperation always better at home. Hope you get some more sleep Toni, although I am sure you will be on pins.
So kind of you to relay the messages to us, very much appreciated by everyone. Its going to be cooler by Friday, yippee. Enough of this silly weather now. Let's roll into Autumn, with a little chill in the air.
Everyone take lots of care, Lots of Love XXXXAidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Morning everyone
I feel almost 'hungover' this morning I am so exhausted every bone is cross with me I think too
I have no idea how I got away with getting Lucy home last night other than that 'they' know I have dealt with worse with her over the years, (line-flushes, neutropenia, liver injury and C-diff for example), and I did my best to seem super-confident.
Matron (Aidan), please do get the beds opened up for us today though
Lucy is great on her crutches didn't need to see physio and of course we have all the gear at home with the raised loo seat frame shower seat and we are in a bungalow now.
She is amazing really never fails to impress me.
Thank you all for your kind comments and a special thank you to my carrier pigeon, Barbara, for her support. Being back in that hospital environment certainly brought it all back for me.
Much love and ((())) to all of you

Toni your daughter continues to amaze me and so do you but what mothers can do when their offspring are hurt or sick is nature at its best.Up and at em Lucy.0

Morning all..
oh bless Toni I was thinking about how your night would go..hopefully you can get a good nap today ..is there someone to keep an eye on Lucy..I somehow thought you would get Lucy home come what may ..you are right though, you have dealt with more than most nurses will have ..I hope that your joints ease up and Lucy is not in to much pain..I say it again you are amazing both of you..and it was my pleasure..
Aiden it must take you back..what year did you start nursing..or is that a cheeky question..anyhow I was in hospital in the 50s..and early 60s..so remember will ..I love the Royal ... they are repeating it now and it takes me back..hope you are keeping cool..not easy ...
Hello Mig when is your next break..I look forward to hearing about them..
Joan is it still cool there..or are you like my middle GD she is always cold..hope you are both doing ok...
tea and toast I think...love to everyone xxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
I thought you might be aching a weeny bit today Toni. Or is that the understatement of the month.
So, so glad that you were all free to come home. If you cannot do your nursing, after all the events mentioned, then no one can. Lucy, you are an inspiration and I mean that wholeheartedly. some more healing vibes, coming your way.
The ward is officially open. The beds are nimbus air flow, with thermostatic cooling and heating. Every possible extra is to hand, I have left the Matron from the Royal, to look over things, while I try and cool down. But never fear, I am not far away, with my beady eyes 8) Barbara will also keep an eye as she loves the Royal so will get on with Matron number 2, just fine.
Barbara, I started my nurse training in the late 70's, old school syllabus, Sister was God, Matron was a force to be reckoned with and wards ran like clockwork, were spotless, everyone was looked after very well indeed, there were no such bugs as MRSA, or Norovirus, C Difficile etc. The domestics took a huge pride in their wards and would scrub until it could not be scrubbed any more. Whatever they didn't scrub, we scrubbed, lol.
Thank you for keeping us all posted.
Hi Joan Mig Kath Christine Elizabeth and all. Hope all is as well as possible.
Oh boy is it warm. Went to meet Aunt and Uncle in Ner---, in Skipton. Was a v nice time, of course I was leaking coffee, but the AC was on, so it didn't feel too bad until we came out and I nearly fainted.
Quick, well, slow potter, round Mark's, then home to put the AC on here, thank the Lord it is going to cool off from tomorrow. I have had enough of the Indian summer now, thanks all the same. I know Barbara has too and Christine and Kath.............lol
Right, big pill round time. Cats to medicate, OH to medicate (he seems to be mending ok now, with suitable doses of meds from my general pharmacy), lol.
Take lots of care, Toni, time for you to take a rest in the spare bed.

Like the sound of your ward Aidan can't beat old school.
Barbara we are off to do the Emmerdale studio tour in October and we are taking my sister and hubby to Bletchley Park it was my sisters 70th in June so its her birthday treat with lunch thrown in,in December we are going on a turkey and tinsel break to Scotland,we have a couple of theatre shows as well, I will be 70 next September so we are trying to find a cruise to go on.Mig0 -
Yawn!!! Had a lovely sleep there Aidan thanks.
Yes much better n those days 'old school' we were much better looked after.
I like the matron from the Royal too and as far as I can see the ward here is spotless
Lucy has eaten, taken painkillers, eaten and slept all day. Got to the settee and also managed a shower
mig I wanna come with you!!! What a lot you have planned. Lucy and I were thinking of taking Paul on the Emmerdale tour
Hope all is well with our Joan - it's really muggy here tonight
Barbara My phone fell in the sink today full of water (I was soaking labels of something Seems ok a bit slower than normal, but odd
Tia is away back tonight, but Charley and her gf came to sit with Lucy while I dashed to the supermarket for supplies
Lucy has fallen asleep again so will prompt her to bed soon.
ME TOO!!!
Love

Hi to one and all - Another humid evening to say the least, it is really misty here and if it gets any closer we will all be touching.....
Glad the ward is to peoples liking. The night Sister is just like Hattie Jaques, strict, but lovely with it.
You certainly are on a mission there Mig. Quite an itinerary. The Emerdale tour is supposed to be very good. They used to film a lot in the Dales, but moved everything to near Leeds.
A cruise, well, I guess the world is your oyster. If I could get on with being on a ship, I would cruise around Alaska, the ice flows and glaciers, whales, wonderful. The Fjords are nearer to home and my Aunt and Uncle loved it.
I was feeling queasy on the steamer from Windermere to Ambleside, Bless.
Glad you had a sleep Toni and Lucy has been doing very well indeed. Lots of sleep and rest, all good medicine.
Oh dear, phone in the sink, see, you need one like mine, the S7 edge - I know you were thinking of one, maybe now is a good time Then you can throw it in the sink to your hearts content, lol
Good that you had a chance to pop out and do the shopping trip. I am sure Lucy was in good hands.
We have rain forecast for the morning, well, a weather warning to be exact. Hopefully another big storm. I will have to see the forecast on BBC.
Hope everyone else is ok. Take care, one and all. XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Toni i'm so pleased Lucy is home where you can look after her everyone gets better quicker when they are home. and it will be easer for you to rest.
Mig I hope you enjoy the Emmerdale tour and you can find a cruise to go on.
Barbara thank you for keeping us up to date with Lucy and Toni
I hope you have a good day.
Aidan its gloomy here and colder. I hope you have a good day.

Morning all very warm last night..
Toni I hope you got some quality sleep last night..but then again Lucy would be on your mind..hope that phone speeds up..not good when its been wet..nice that Charley and her gf sat with Lucy..bet they had a good laugh ...
Mig blimey that is brilliant..hope you can find a lovely cruise to celibate..my oh keeps on about them ..but with crutches Im not so sure...you enjoy them all...
Aiden yes the hospital were lovely and clean..I remember the matron shouting because I was getting out of bed without slippers on...and then her sitting most of the night with a very poorly patient..the other side of her... must say the hospital I had my THR..was clean they came twice a day cleaning ..glad you enjoyed your time with your aunt and uncle..matron num 2 I always wanted to be a nurse ..this is even better.. now I will try out one of the airflow beds if you dont mind..
Joan you are welcome..and can I come and live with you while its cooler ...I would be a good house guest ..no trouble at all..
There have been some awful storms and floods lat night..we missed that one thank goodness
Going to meet some friends later they are down form Scotland .. I am looking forward to seeing them..its been a couple of years now..
I hope that Christine is doing ok ..not seen her around..
Love to everone xxxxxxxLove
Barbara0 -
Thank you Joan I totally agree home is always best and I do know when I need help with her and would get it. Keeping an eye on her BP and temp Its raining here so hoping it will cool down soon.
Barbara I slept quite well thanks. Though Lucy needed the loo at one point and as you say one ear open at all times
I reckon Lucy enjoyed the natter with Charley and her gf needed younger people around her rather than boring old worry-wart Mum
I hope you have a really good catch up with your friends from up North!!
We have rain here now, but not heavy.
Phone seems to have survived and, yes Aidan - the next one will be a 7 I think this is a 5. Paul's is too.
A Hattie Jaques sister!! Perfect and what we need very very sweet and kind, but strong and gets things done
Today Tia will see Lucy! She has been in Lanzarote and not back until 4am so when she wakes up.
I hope you don't get washed away :?
The kid's natural father is threatening to visit on Monday and again the Monday after to help Charley with some jobs....very odd as last week he was having 'panic attacks' and unable to drive??? As many of you might remember he used to promise every year to visit for Lucy's birthday and every year he would have some excuse on the actual day  Always down to me to break the news too
He lives in Devon and we're in Stafford now.
Love to everyone
Toni xxx0 -
I'm sorry I'm struggling to keep up with all your news.
Now Toni's Lucy had a op on Wednesday. I'm so pleased its all over and she was allowed home but please be careful. In a way at least you don't have all that travelling to-and-fro the hospital.I did think she would get 'hit on' in her new job and it is a big worry.
Scampi in love is scampi with rice,in a cream and lobster sauce. I was too full to eat most of it. Again I missed the sweet because Lucy got a bit stressed/tired and wanted to go home so OH took us back, plus Daniel and then went back to spend more time with his relatives. I did enjoy despite having to rush off before the pudding!
Dan is autistic and the construction course is ambitious but no harm in trying. He is doing other lessons as well.
I had a few panics with Jack. Having sorted out a course in a uni nice and close and accessable to us they have informed me he has to go elsewhere once a week. So had to do a couple of dry runs as it involves changing trains and a bus journey to get to the other place. I'm not amused after all my efforts.
Now it rained buckets yesterday and the road flooded as usual. A neighbour knocked and asked us to put our car across the road to stop cars coming down as it causes a wash effect and goes straight into her house. I wasn't too happy as you get all the abuse from the irate drivers, plus the neighbour left her two cars on her drive! We get our new car on the 27th Sept and I need that good condition bonus. Mind you OH is not happy I'm keeping the bonus this time but I pay all the bills...Everything apart from his mobile and pension!! I'm fed up with him spending hundreds on bike bits all the time which he would do if I handed over the money...Rant alert!
Kath apart from ginger biscuits I found scrambled egg on toast worked for me with the mtx nausea. No idea why but it was a tip I got from a previous AC member called Bailey. Not long until the infusion now. Wish I could say it is working but I'm still 'set like stone'
Joan my bloods are next week and a fasting one the following week but I'm still waiting for my replacement blood test forms to arrive.
Good afternoon Applerose, hope you are well. Thank you for the vote but GG are almost being overtaken by another charity who have have had newspaper and TV coverage. Hope they can hold on.
I want to sit in the garden but its still raining but at least it is cooler as had some rubbish nights lately. I might need one of those beds Aidan has sorted. Can Toni get some books from the AC bookclub to put by the bedside as I love to read.
Apologies for anyone I've missed. Waves to Barbara...

For you Elizabeth
I am so pleased you had your scampi meal it does sound rather nice
Shame about dessert though :?
I was hoping the construction course might not be too team-worky for Dan? (Is there such a word?) As for Jack having to travel like that I wouldn't be happy either
You and I are on the same page as far as returning to work too soon is concerned anyway I am just glad I am not awake worrying about her all night at the moment!!
I really think your neighbour is a bit cheeky expecting your car to be put 'out there' for her!! As far as the money is concerned it's yours anyway and knowing men and motorbikes there must be 1000's of parts to buy for them  just more mess.
It's cooler here, but when the sun hits it's WARM isn't it? and those seeds are back :shock:0 -
Hi to one and all - Have had a read, but am in a lather, dusting and throwing open windows, all nice and clean and then those SEEDS keep coming in................It seems they like us Toni.
I will write more later, it is pills time for me and the cats. Yes, it is still VERY warm in the sunshine, but we are very grateful for the breeze and less humidity.
XXX For now, AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Did I say it was cooler - well, I was fibbing. In my infinite wisdom I had the tumble dryer going and subsequently have baked ever since.
I see matron is back on duty tonight, with Dr Finlay, of all people. So we are in good hands
Up ere in t'north Toni, lol, it has been cooler, just me being a little optimistic with the laundry.
Glad you had a better night, even with one ear open. I am the same with the cats.
I am sure Lucy doesn't think you are boring, or a worry wart, lol. She will have enjoyed her natter with Charley and gf. Hope Tia got back ok, I bet the weather was as warm here as in Lanzarote.
No, we didn't get washed away, a little light rain, nothing compared to the deluges that have drenched the south. I think we came off lightly.
It doesn't sound promising that a visit will be happening, not if he is having panic attacks and given the history of let down's............
Don't worry Elizabeth, you are doing a sterling job. Sometimes the cafe flies along, as it used to do, many years back. You are doing a Sterling job keeping up
The Scampi in love sounds wonderful. Missing pudding is not so good though...........But at least you enjoyed the time.
Dan sounds to be doing well, as you say, no harm in trying. Good for him.
I can well understand the concerns over a train change and a bus journey, to get to another college. I wouldn't be amused either.
Nor would I be best pleased at having to use the car as a barrier - whilst said neighbours parked their cars as normal.
You do right, hanging on to the good condition bonus, it is well worth having I quite agree. Bike bits, mmmm, priorities go in very different ways don't they. Rant alert noted, I will pop some fresh scones out, just in case the need for scones with best butter appears.
By all means, I think one of the beds is free, or is Barbara in there? Feel free, hugs to stop you setting any more. It's horrid.
We managed to get out for a coffee and scones Friday morning. Mum n dad enjoyed it. Then a few bits, well, a trolley full, from Sains---- and home.
It was nice to open the windows and have a dust - have I said all this already.........oh dear. I think I have removed all the seeds that flew in. It was like snow. ( I wish ). Careful what you wish for Aidan.
The dryer has gone off, I cannot bear it any longer. Things can wait until tomorrow. Pus we had a cooked supper, no wonder I am melting, again.
It is lovely out, a very bright full moon, lighting everywhere up. Plus it is cool - I keep popping out onto the decking, to air myself and maybe have a ciggy at the same time. :?
Hi Joan, Kath, Barbara, Mig, Christine and all..................
Everyone take lots of care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Good morning everyone
The sun is out which I did not expect, but hopefully it will be cool enough :?
Aidan thank you, but I am a worry wart and Lucy knows it. She is tolerant of me. Yes I am not too pleased about the threatened visit...he always favoured Charley out of the two every year he got here for her birthday.
Anyway her Grandparents (his side), came yesterday to see her which was nice. We still get on really well so had a good natter and Lucy showed off her party tricks on her crutches
I am most relived to hear you didn't get washed away but not that you overheated yourself with the dryer. That is probably how he gets his revenge now that dryer....overheating you
Tia and her bf had a great time, but now know not to go for the cheapest hotel!! They look really well and rested.
All those extra people fair wore Lucy out though and she was in bed as soon as she had downed her curry.
Elizabeth is in one of the beds look you can see the book on her face where she dropped it...no idea where Barbara is....???
Good idea to leave supplies of scones out for her
As for snow my ex MIL looked at my coal scuttle full already and said I had better stop wishing for cold weather too as it will be a long time here.
I think the mods need to sort us some Autumn smilies soon maybe??
I hope everyone is as well as possible today. We have the electrician here in a mo to put us an extractor in the bathroom. There isn't one and Lucy's 1 hour showers are wreaking havoc with my paintwork!!!
Ok they are 10 minute ones just now, but as soon as she's allowed to wet that wound......
Right better get dressed  quick!!0 -
Hello Barbara Toni Elizabeth Aidan and anyone else I missed
