Well I'm so glad Lucy is doing well. I bet she can't wait until she's back to hour long showers.

I think Autumn smilies would be nice, lots of squirrels in among the leaves. g050.gife045.gif

I have to book transport ready for a week on Monday. I hope your infusion soon starts to work Elizabeth.

Joan, hope you, Sue and the dogs have managed to get out this weekend.

Hi Toni, Mig, Kath, Elizabeth Barbara Joan Christine and all

    f035.gif
So, it's cooling down, REALLY !! We are mid-summer again ere up in t'north.

    l025.gif

I know we have our daily weather updates from around the country and I don't wish the seasons away, but, can we have leaves falling and wet and windy days. s020.gif

I did do some drying, which was a big mistake - save to say I feel like I have been griddled. We have the windows open, OH has put new bug screen over the window inserts (keep the pus cats in, but let air through). Of course it is flat calm at the moment - huh. Matron not a happy bunny at all.

Anyway, we had to pop out as my phone flagged up our neighbours Birthday - completely forgotten - so off to nice shop to buy very nice candles, hand made locally. Then to get a pile of cakes as family are coming to mum n dads tomorrow and we said we would get the nibbles.
Off round to neighbours, who was duly very pleased with her presents.

I bet Lucy was tired out, after the visiting and glad you had a catch up with G Parents. Curry and bed, I would have been up half the night, burping  Good of her to perform her tricks. I can do them, the best one is not falling over when leg gives out.
Cheapest is not always best, definitely. Glad tia and bf had a good visit too.
Hope the extractor is working well, humidity and bathrooms can be a big problem. We leave ours on most days, all day, keeps the air moving around.
An hour in the shower - oh my - I would overheat to the point of combustion.
We are still waiting on the man to get back to us about the easy access shower - at present I am taking my life in my hands using the en suite one, which is quite high off the ground and not the biggest on the planet. But, at least we have it as a spare. I will ring him again this coming week and see where he is at. I didn't know you were limited to smilies, 3 per post.

Joan I hope you Sue and doggies too, are having a good week end, out and about and getting some sunshine. If it rains, send it up to us and I will swap the sunshine with you.

Hope you managed to sort the transport Kath and yes, we do need lots of leaves and autumnal themes - every time I see the deckchairs, I melt a little more. lol.

Sending hugs down to you and your toe Mig, not a good thing to drop on any part of you, let alone your toe. The silver Birch has dropped its leaves already and I think some are just starting to turn, at the tops of the trees. It is cooler at night now, that normally sets them off into autumn mode.

Right, time for a cuppa, some biscuits, throw the tumble dryer out the window - just normal things. Hattie is working the night shift and Elizabeth is still asleep, I have moved the book.

Barbara, that's twice now, you posted just before me, lol. You do have a lot going on a the moment. Glad you managed to sit out while it was cooler and don't worry about being flat out asleep in the bed.
Good that your GD is settled and doing her college work and has a partner too, who is equally as lovely. Wasp away, I will have to look that one up, as they are daft at the moment, flying straight at me, they appear from nowhere. Grrrrrrr

Right I am off to the back door, yes, for a ciggy and yes to cool a little.
lots of love to all XXXX Aidan

Take care, one and all XXX Aidan

Crikey. Didn't realise it had been so long since I've been in. My laptop has been playing up a bit but updated today and seems fine now.

I've had a quick read through to find out how things went with Lucy. Glad the op is over so hope she recovers quickly. Sounds as if she enjoyed having Charley and her gf, Tia and her grandparents to chat to. Hope you are resting now Toni. Love all your leaves.

Barbara, we do miss our kids and GC when they move away. So your eldest is doing a health course? Do you know what she plans to do - nurse, doctor or some other health profession?

Mig, your poor toe. Ouch. Hope the swelling has gone down by now.

Joan, hope you are having a good weekend.

Aiden, you sound very busy looking after so many people. Don't forget to look after yourself too. I see lots of cakes are being eaten. They'll keep your energy up.

Elizabeth, I'm glad you got out for your meal even if you had to come away early. I don't understand why your neighbour couldn't put her own car across the road, especially if she has two. As for the bonus money, wouldn't that be yours anyway. You should be able to buy something for yourself, not bike parts. I think media coverage always makes such a difference but hope GG can do it.

Kath, I see you are ready to book your transport. The autumn smilies would be good.

I've finished my course so now for a bit of revision before I do the exam. Not looking forward to it. It's 3 hours long. I spent a couple of hours today in the garden cutting back the Virginea creeper, cutting out the old raspberry canes and cutting back my bramble. Got quite a few yellow raspberries and brambles and still got lots of apples. My son called round with his wife and my youngest GD. She had built a space station out of bricks for her homework and I printed out the photos. They're not learning about space but aliens.

    Oh Mig!

    p045.gif

another patient for you here Aidan

Hi Christine - good to see you I hope the computer is behaving now? You have done so well with your courses this year I think we all assumed you were studying/examining!!

Thank you Lucy is doing very very well indeed. I have been taking advantage of the hospital beds for an hour here and there as has she :)

Well-done for doing that bit in the garden I must finish the pond off ASAP so it's ready for next year :)

My new spuds are going great guns as are the carrots, but the kohlrabi are very poorly I think only one will grow enough. Show them to your GD, my Dad used to called them 'Space invaders'

Aidan I quite agree the summer ought to be going now and letting you cool down!!

To be fair very few of our leaves seem to be changing colour, but recent winds have blown some down.

Lucky neighbour - I love nice candles :)

I hope all goes well today at Mum's and she enjoys all her visitors too :D

You can do plenty of the smilies on this site, but like off cosgan or if you post photos...only 3 :(

I do hope your shower gets sorted soon. Ours is very big - we can both get in - myself and Lucy if needs be, but it does have a 'lip'.

Lucy is making up for 2 years of hot flushes on chemo and enjoying her showers! I initially blamed her dizzy spells on toow long in the shower when it was the start of her leukaemia

Hi Barbara I hope your eldest GD's gf is nice? I also hope she is loving her course and staying safe in London. Lucky for me none of mine have ventured far. Tia the furthest to Chester.

Yes Paul is reliable, caring and always keeps his promises with all our girls. Their natural father is unreliable I am afraid. VERY funny and charismatic, but selfish and work-shy too  Nevr contributed to the girls care financially or otherwise.

Wasp away sounds great! Daisycat has just come in chirruping :) are you still seeing the neighbour's cats?

She keeps on lying with Lucy - nurse Diddicat!! One of her many nick-names

I hope Joan is well and Sue too and that the doggies are behaving :)

    Love to everyone

Toni, those Autumn smiles are brilliant. Didicat  how cute.

Mig, you need my toenails. They're like cast iron. Impossible to cut, but offer SOME protection from heavy tins landing on them. I tried trimming them with secateurs - no go! :o

Aidan, it must be an Indian Summer. I hope you're finding ways to keep cool.

Yes Christine, my phone is going to be hot tomorrow. Booking appointment and then a repeat prescription.

Aw Kath yes Diddicat :) she has many others, but that one is a real favourite and answers to all of them - it's the tone of voice I think :)

Let's hope your phone doesn't blow a gasket tomorrow ;)]

Mig I would think it's black!! Honestly! enjoy your dinner it sounds lovely.

Lucy is doing just fine Barbara thank you :) you know we live opposite the Church? Well they left a veggie basket full of home-grown veg and fruit for Lucy a card and some sweet peas :)

How lovely is this village!! Made me bawl again though

Gosh your GD's OH is young to have such troubles with her joints (hark at me!!!), so long as they are happy who cares. My Charley's gf is lovely and also has joint issues. Hips mostly and is the same age as Lucy. I intend to go with her to the Dr when Lucy is more on the mend because they haven't been listening :x

I have to agree with you about the light at this time of year. It IS different :) a bit 'magical'.

    I have removed a bit more pond-muck!!

Necked back an arcoxia and settled Lucy for a sleep now.

    Love to you all

Toni, I'm glad you are getting some rest too. How is Lucy today? I need to empty the irises out of the pond as there are way too many. Not sure I'll get round to it now before next spring. Kohlrabi are funny aren't they? I'm sure my GD will think they are aliens. I would have assumed the hot water was the cause of the dizzy spells too. You wouldn't have dreamed of anything else. There is a difference between a 'real' dad and a 'natural 'dad'. Paul is a real dad. My GC's dad is similar. Hardly bothers with them at all and when he does see them, he drops them off at his mum's and goes out. Hasn't paid a penny towards their keep. Nurse Diddycat. I like that. What a lovely surprise getting the basket. I want to live in your village. The people sound wonderful.

Joan thanks. I'm revising now and feel a little less anxious about the exam. The laptop is still doing a few strange things but I can use it ok. It just changes apps back to what it thinks I should be using but that seems to be ok. I hope.

Barbara, thanks. I'm less worried about the exam now I'm doing revision. I'll post a pic of the space station after this post so I don't lose this. Your GD's gf must struggle without knee caps. I hope it isn't too long before they give her new ones.

Mig, your poor toe. It must be so painful. Your lamb dinner sounds delicious.

Kath, good luck with your phone calls tomorrow. Hope you get them for when suits you.

This afternoon I have been jumping with Masai warriors. Well not really jumping, just thinking about it. They had come over from Kenya and were singing and dancing and jumping in one of the churches. I loved it. They got a few of the children up on the stage. Despite being warriors and having big loud voices, they seemed to be very gentle. They are touring for a couple of months to try to get funds to help the Masai children. They are building schools and clinics and setting up water wells.

Hi Mig Barbara Christine Joan Toni Elizabeth Kath and to all...........

There you are Christine. I thought we had lost you in one of the sumptious nimbus beds
Hope your laptop is behaving now, I am sure computers have a mind of their own sometimes.
I do seem to be worrying about a lot of people at the moment. Cannot help it, once a nurse always a nurse, plus being a full time worry pot anyway, I don't stand a chance :? I have had complete meltdown's in the past and they were horrible times which I never want to see again.
I manage to keep things under control, plus medication helps.........I won't dwell.

I will look after myself too, I keep getting told off by OH, for doing things I shouldn't, or rushing, well, rushing at my pace if you get my drift. Then I get angina and very shouty bones - sometimes you just want to do what you once did without even thinking.

Cakes are a must, they are a great comfort LOL. Scones especially.

That is a long exam coming up, I am sure you will be just fine and wish you all the success possible.
Good to break up the revision with some garden therapy. Virginia creeper grows like mad doesn't it, but it looks stunning in Autumn. If it's the one I am thinking of.
Glad you enjoed the family visit and I love the alien space station photo. Bless. ( I love the blue flowers too ) :)

I know Toni, another patient, big sore toe to take care of. I think a lot of arnica gel and it will be ok, the SBC one is really good and well worth keeping a stock of.
You are welcome to take advantage of the hospital beds, I think the ward is empty at the moment. Nurse Gladys Emanuelle is on duty tonight, lovely lady.
Kholrabi, do we need to have an propogator on the ward too, for tending to poorly pants. I will ask Monty Don to come and give advice. As long as we have carrots, we can make carrot cake, so that's fine, :)

Glad Lucy is doing well, very pleasing to hear. Paul is a rock I am certain of it. I am managing, just, in the small shower. It is a struggle, but at least I can use it, there is a step up to it, that the OT gave me.

Daisycat will know who is well and who is less so. Our cats are the same, they come see you when you are weary or in pain, they have a wonderful sense of well being and ill ease, good with telepathy too.
Diddicat is a wonderful name, I LOVE it.

Joan, we did pop round to see mum, dad brother and sis in law and her mother, quite a house full. Mum was tired, I could tell, not really all that bothered that she had a house full of visitors, but put a brave face on. We didn't stay too long and I don't think everyone else will have done, Mum needed a rest and sleep. She is back to see the GP tomorrow, who keeps a very regular eye on her, which is very nice.
Hope you are ok and sue and the lovely doggies.

We had a very heavy mist last night too Barbara, a bit like a November evening, always reminds me of bonfire night. It was nice, the moon just peeping through.
Your GD's girlfriend, bless, no kneecaps, she will struggle for sure. She must have worried before telling you about her partner. It took our niece a long time to actually say anything to us about her partner. Hey, we are happy if you are happy, that's all that matters -
Hope you enjoyed you day of relaxation.

Mig, that lunch sounds delicious, wish I had seen it earlier, would have booked a table :) Arnica, on that sore toe, will help with the bruising. Toe hugs on the way.

Kath, what are you doing with the secateurs on your TOES, oh my, we need to send in the podiatrist asap, lol. It certainly has been an Indian summer, not too bad today, I seem to have been less melting. Warm, but not baked.
Good luck with the appointments and repeats, hotline, always a busy time, Monday morning.

Just seen that you had a lovely gift from the village Toni, how wonderful, I would have been bawling too. You live in a very special place. I get very good vibrations.

Christine how wonderful to see the Masai warriors. Sounds like a great time was had by all. They are very tall by nature and lead quite solitary lives really. I know a lady called Stacey Baine, spent a lot of time studying them and their culture. She is a great artist and did a whole range of fabulous figures. We have one on the sideboard and have had others in the past. They are quite rare now.

I must move, I am the shape of a dining chair and have a bum the shape of my gel cushion. :o:lol::lol:
Everyone take lots of care..............N Night XXX Aidan

    Good morning everyone :)

I can certainly see that is an alien spacecraft Christine :) I can see how it would fly, (very well I think), and I think how they get in and out :)

I am very worried about my kohlrabi!! Something has eaten it's leaves :x I wonder whether Aidan has Monty Don there yet? He is my hero ;)

You will do just fine with your exams I know it you have worked too hard not to. Paul was revising too yesterday doing his CSCS card exam again today (renewed every 2/3 years).

Let's hope your pond is ok and you can sort out the extra irises next spring :)

You are quite right about natural/birth fathers they have to earn the name 'Dad' don't they?

Hope the Masai warriors raised plenty of money.

Aidan I do hope Mum has recovered from her glut of visitors by now. I had a feeling it might be too much and really hope, (though suspect not), that others took the hint and weren't far behind you. I am glad the Doc is being so good with her.

I have also had one or two complete meltdowns in the past. The good thing is that you can recognise the warning signs with experience and steps can be taken.

Nurse Gladys Emmanuelle!! She is so sweet! I hope our Mig's toes is not too sore with all that arnica (great stuff!).

Nurse Diddicat just came in soaked!! Bless her I wrapped her in a warm towel and she does her thunder-puss purring :) I hope your lot are all well?

Will be back later love to Joan and Barbara and Elizabeth and Mig

The girls' Father is here in the L. room watching a film. Lucy is asleep in her chair, but Charley is here. I am in the kitchen on my laptop.

Hi Barbara I am glad you badge is here safe and sound :) I agree what would we do without them?

Men eh? Your Oh should stay in bed like I do and read a bit - you soon fall back to sleep.

I really do feel part of the village yes now. They are such lovely people.

Now you mention it think I heard that about artists and the light just now. I think the light in France is supposed to be different too that's why there were so many went there to paint.

Yes another with joint issues, but they will be ok we have much experience to pass on :)

Joan soup is what I will make so Lucy gets the benefit of all those home-grown veggies :) They are so lovely here we totally made the right decision.

    Love

Hi to everyone, just a quick hi, before T, biscuits and nap.

Of course Monty is now to hand, for all gardening needs. He was outside with Marigold and Yack. Bless, they have been there a long time.
You always feel like you are out on your own when you have a meltdown, but, you realise that so many people have similar events in life. A lot of it turned out to be major OCD, which was not discovered until years later. I can control it, as best as possible now.

Poor Diddicat, all wet through. I know what you mean by thunder purrs. lol. All ours are ok at the moment, Mother is waiting for OH to sit in his chair, so she can sit on his lap and go all mushy. Pepe is doing the same, waiting for me to move, Cookie is snoring on the fleece, on the back of the chair.

Will find out more what time visitors left on Sunday, when we catch up tomorrow for coffee and scones. Will ring later, to see how the GP visit went.

Joan, cakes are a vital part of daily life.

Kind of you to say that I am needed Barbara, always lovely to hear when someone says it out of the blue. Bless you. I will look after myself and take heed of OH when I am told off for doing too much.

Kath I am sure you will be ok, you sound all geared up and ready, we will be there to keep an eye and share scones of course.

Right, it is time to potter, having had a lovely lunch out, the place with all those cakes looking at me. They had eclairs again, but, we could not manage one, I know, I will be in trouble, but it is true. I wanted to dive into the carrot cake, it was HUGE, almost as big as the coffee and walnut, that was like a mountain. I think had drunk so much T and coffee and water, I was awash.

Take care one and all, a tout a l'heur XX Aidan

Yes Aidan I have felt alone, but found when you speak out we are so not alone!!

I imagine it is more prevalent in the caring professions too. A 'type' of person going into the field.

Aw how sweet all pusskins are happy tonight. Daisycat is in 'Spare 'oom' (spare room as in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe I think :?

That carrot cake would have been on my plate too. Lucy and I have had strawberries, cream and lots of sugar...yum!!!

I hope all is well with Mum when you get in touch tomorrow I hope they didn't stay too long.

Monty! Monty!! I'm having some bother with my cabbages!!!

Kath I would like the soup, I love red cabbage with apple....the stuffed cabbage leaves and the curry please :)

Right best be getting us into bed now

    Love to everyone

oh, n ow that is a tempting menu. Even though I eat very little to no red meat, the lamb sounds so delicious. Then some rice pudding, lemon scented - mmmmmmmmmmm

I agree Toni, the health care profession is quite a place to work and stress levels are so high sometimes, that was then, goodness knows what it is like now.

The spare oom is indeed from the Lion TWATW. I loved the book, the tv series, wonderful. I enjoyed all of the books in that collection.

Strawberries, now, I am not a fan, yes, I know, it is almost beyond belief, but they don't seem to agree with me. Not to the point of coming out in a rash, but I will let you have my share. Glad you and Lucy enjoyed them.
Rang Mum, Dr is pleased with her at the moment. Carry on doing what she is doing, taking all the necessary pills etc. She sounded fairly up beat and is looking forward to coffee and scones this morning.

Time to move, it is silly o clock. Everyone rest well XXX Aidan
