I could swear - I won't, but I could. :x :x I hardly slept a wink last night. my right leg was burning. From hip to foot. And about half an hour after taking MTX, my hip and groin began to hurt. After all I'd said about feeling well. Grrrr! So I could have done with a couple of Lavender pats.

I bought some to nail softener from Am**on. It's working. :D

Afternoon to one and all - hope Saturday is as good a day as possible.
We did enjoy brunch Joan, it was lovely, three full English and I had a Veggie breakfast, all very nice, good company, natter, scones, of course, to follow. b030.gif

Pus cats do like to see if the grass is any greener on the other side, sucking in their cheeks to look peckish  They obviously like coming round to see you, a little butter would always go down a treat, then they would wash, for ages...............................

Well done for not letting me down Barbara, mind you, if the scones are SO big, I think I would actually share a very small portion.
I will get on with some lavender pats. h071.gifThey are a bit like making pizza lol.

Kath, you need some of the fresh lavender pats asap. So sorry you had a bad night, it is just typical of arthur, just when you think you are ok for a bit, it bites you, yet again. Sending some special delivery p010.gif along with some extra ((())). Glad the nail softener is working - we get lots of things from Ama---, you see things on the shopping channel Q-C and then look for it on Ama--- and it is so much cheaper :) You swear if you want to Kath, we won't mind, maybe not put it in writing, but you can swear into a cushion, lol.

Toni, I hope you are recovering from your visitors - I bet you are in the pond, just you be careful. Hugs to you all and fusses to nurse diddycat.

Hi to Mig, Christine, Elizabeth, SW, DD, and all.

It is blowing a hoolie here, warm, but nice to have a strong breeze blowing through, curtains are horizontal.

I don't think the pus cats know we are in yet, all fast asleep still.

Take lots of care XXXX Aidan

Yes I think that's what it was supposed to do that mig. Perhaps you didn't spot the protective glasses you should have worn??

Aw bless your GD Barbara!! I am glad she's got such a good work ethic - well-done to her.

there you see another good person in the caring profession - she should get her NVQ 2 then 3 then do bank at the hospital then they might train her for her nursing :)

Ooops sorry that's her career plan sorted!!

Aidan!! That was so funny!! that is exactly what cats do!! I can picture it...."oh look at me, so thin.....no-one feeds me....I am the thinnest cat in Stafford...."

I can manage without a lavender pat tonight Kath can have mine too :(

I haven't been to the pond. Paul took me to a nursery in Shropshire  to get some violas and they had none. I got travel sick on route so was forced to have a large scone and cup of tea to settle my tummy of course....Nurse Diddicat is on duty again with sick bowls :)

Kath I am sending you extra ((())) I am so sorry I am fuming. Nurse Diddicat is on her way using one of mig's spare broomsticks with a cold compress. She might stop at Aidan's on route for the cow pats too.

Joan I very much hope you have a good weekend too and the foot behaves :)

Hi everyone. Feels as if I've been away forever. I've read through but, as usual, I've forgotten most of it.

Toni, how is Lucy? Badly bruised if I remember. Hope she is not in too much pain. Daisycat is so beautiful.

Kath, I was going to say it's good to hear that you are feeling a bit better then I read you had a very bad night. Hope tonight is better.

Barbara, I'm sure you're GD loves her card with the pictures on.

Mig, I wondered what all that flashing and banging was.

Aiden, I see you are very busy making lavender pats. I'm sure everyone will want one.

Joan, it's not long till your appointment. Time passes quickly.

Elizabeth, you definitely should get your heart checked. probably nothing to worry about as Aiden said but best check.

My boss came back from Italy on Monday evening. In the early hours of the next morning, someone broke in to the house through the front door and took the car keys. My boss's son was still up and heard a noise so went to check and found a man trying the keys in the car door. He ran off. The police came and interviewed my boss's son. As they opened the front door to leave, the man was back trying to get in to the car again. He had a motor bike waiting so he got away.

I was reading our local paper and saw a picture of the ex of a friend. My friend had told me last year that she had left her ex because her daughter said he'd been molesting her. Anyway, he was in court yesterday and was found not guilty despite the police finding images of children on his phone and computer. A few years ago, he sent obscene suggestions to me and a few others so I'm sure he did abuse my friend's daughter.

On a brighter note, I have done my exam so feeling relieved. Just waiting to hear if I have passed. :deckchair:

It is all going on, Mig, be careful with those deliveries. Starkers you say :o

Yes, diddicat was at the window, in full disguise, a035.gif

She managed to get up to the Ribble Valley in no time. I think she had transport though.

    n055.gif

These lavender pats seem to be causing quite a stir. Dr Ross, AKA George Clooney from ER, is looking after the ward for 24 hours. I have a feeling the beds will be booked. I am sure he will administer the pats in a very gentle manner.

Yes, that sounds like a Pan for Barbara's GD, I am an NVQ assessor, to level three health care (ideal for those wanting to go into nursing). Sorry Barbara, perhaps you had better warn her, that her career has just been sorted :) Sounds like your GD is doing a sterling job, both in the bar and with her caring as well.

We have a garden full of viola's, self seeded and drive OH mad, they are like weeds. That would have saved you being sickly en route. Good that the tea and cake settled things down. Ginger biscuits all round I think. Maybe speak to Dr Ross 8)

Love the pictures of Diddicat. Don't they just love to be wherever you want to sit. Our pepe is the worst for stealing OH chair, it is a battle of wills and a race to see who gets there first. I managed to trim his claws, not OH, pepe and I came away unscathed, which is a miracle.

Hi Christine, I know what you mean, if you are away for a day or so, it feels like months.
I am sure you will pass the exam with flying colours.

How terrible that your boss was burgled and then came back for a second attempt to take the car. Talk about brazen. I would have to have all the locks changed, it is horrid being broken into.

The ex of your friend sounds a very unsavoury person indeed. Good that he is no longer in their lives and can do no harm. aweful that you were in the firing line for his obscenities too. Nasty man.

As you say, the exam being done is a great thing, keep us posted, we will need a party for all the recent hard work you have been doing.

Well it has just gone midnight, we are expecting heavy rain tonight. It certainly has been very windy, a sure sign of autumn coming. The horse chestnut trees are the first ones to turn around here. Mind, with the high winds, there are leaves blowing from all the trees.

hi to anyone I have missed........everyone take lots of care. I will carry on piling up the pats, ready for Dr Ross.

Oh Aidan I am an Moderator and IV for NVQ 2 and 3 so we can surely get Barbara's daughter well on the way :)

Diddicat brought Pepe back here for a visit  Blimey he does nag for food doesn't he? He has very good manners though admired all Daisy's recycled mice and voles....

She has only got a licence to drive broomsticks so lucky she didn't get caught!!
    t98214.gif

I think they like the smell of us that's why they pinch our seats....especially if they are still warm :)

Dr Ross is doing a great job, but no chance of a lie-down for me today - every single bed is full and there seems to be a queue.......

I think mig burnt her hand yesterday trying to catch the flash-bomb man t98498.gif so she's in one of them

Christine hoorah for you getting the exam done :) we will indeed have everything crossed for you.

Did I read right? Did the would-be tea-leaf actually return to try again while the police were at the house???

    Nutters!!

Thank you Lucy is doing well, we are reducing pain killers back down slowly to normal levels if we can. She is trying to slightly weight-bear now as well :)

Your friend's ex sounds particularly nasty. Even worse he's got away with it...this time. It's unlikely that he will change his ways and one day he'll get his comeuppance :x

Thanks Joan Lucy is doing well. Starting to try and stand on the leg with her crutches. It's rained here overnight, but sunny now. Hope the dogs are ok with the rain poor things.

    Love to everyone

The pics of daisycat were a treat. Not having pets myself (too lazy) I love to hear of their little escapades. I'm pleased she managed to pick Pepe up for a visit.

I don't know about puss cats adventures, Christine and mig aren't doing too bad. Flash in the pan man (are we sure it's a man?) better not come back.

Well I had a much better night thanks to all the Lavender pats. I shall use the again tonight. Need to be up early tomorrow. See you there. xxx

Well Toni, we have a ready made NVQ health care course sorted, up to level three. What a team. 8) 8) A few of the carers that went through the NVQ, then went on to do their training and have made wonderful nurses. I have seen them briefly, over the years, since I retired, with all the admissions for myself, Dad, Mum, etc etc.

I am very glad that pepe was well behaved. He would be no use catching mice or voles, he would be clueless. Bless. Nice to see Diddycat, all be it a whistle stop tour.

Good to hear that Lucy is starting to take a little weight, steady away, gentle steps. Good too that less pain relief is needed.

I thought the mini ward would be full and there is still a queue for beds -   Everything will change later, when Matron from the Royal takes over, she seems to be in a very bad mood for some reason, so I will give her a wide berth.

We have a wet week ahead too Joan, it won't stop us heading out and about, brollies at the ready for the garden centre tomorrow morning. It would take a hurricane to keep me from the scones. Take care all.

You will have to be quick to get a bed Barbara, Dr Ross finishes at 8 and Matron takes over. Someone has upset her.
OH is very brave to catch spiders, we had a run of them for a week or two, looking for mates. I told them there are no mates in this house, so move along, nothing to see, even with 8 eyes. :?
Sun is beating down, but it is a pleasant temperature. We had some rain last night and tomorrow is looking very wet.

Kath, glad to hear that you slept a little better last night and the lavender pats helped. I must make some more. We could do with a machine to make them.
All pus cats are ok, they are happy, having shared our tuna at lunchtime.

Popped round to see mum n dad this morning, had a coffee and saw that they were ok. Mum said "yes, definitely" to a coffee and scones in the morning. Small things are nice to look forward to and we are more than happy to take them out and about. Dad still drives though, for the days when we are busy with appointments etc.

Well, I hear the dryer has finished, yes, the dryer.......working a dream.

Everyone take care, hi to mig christine elizabeth and all.

LOL, we seem to press submit at the same time, on more than one occasion. Great minds think alike :)

Definitely wrap the pats in a bag, Matron won't want questionable sheets on the ward, she is already in a huff. r020.gif

Mum is doing admirably well, stoic and then some. McMillan nurse is coming Tuesday and she is just lovely. She has a laugh and a joke, but she doesn't miss much, we nurses have eyes like a chamealeon a055.gif

Have just completed the marathon read back and there's quite a lot going on.

Joan I did all the gymnastic apparatus but the beam was my best. I kept very fit in my youth but it didn't do me any good in the end because RA came and robbed me of my health. I've never been the same since.....

I went to w**trose as had money off a spend and bought New York cheesecake. Its all gone....'let them eat cake' I say. Got two more ouchers so looking forward to that. For some reason people always stop and talk to me in W**trose and had several stories to listen to this time, not that I mind, must be the crutches.

Christine some people just don't care about being confronted during a theft, in fact I think they find it exciting.
Typical that the guy got found not guilty for the abuse even with a history of images on his phone and computer.

Aidan I had to laugh...temperature since May is about right for me too. I'm still boiling at night and have some windows open.

Kath my left leg keeps me awake; I just can't get comfortable. I don't know if rituximab will make a difference as its more targeted for the inflammation. Generally I am in more pain in my wrists and elbows than previously so really not sure if it is working or not. I can't help comparing it to humira which worked immediately.

Lovely photos of the cat Toni. I have never got over losing mine during the marriage break up, makes me cry just thinking about them and just can't bring myself to get another. So pleased Lucy is recovering well.

I have't seen any spiders since the two on the stairs/landing which OH removed so think they are all safely tucked up in their webs now thank goodness!

Glad all is going well in London for the GD Barbara. My Charlie and her bf moved last week (still in London) and finally they have a flat of their own, no sharing with other couples at last.

We got a new dryer ( replaced due to the fire risk), we've used it a couple of times due to rain and tomorrow we get the new car. Yet I have no instructions from motability about the exchange so probably need to give them a call to confirm everything. I thought they would have written to us by now.

Has anyone see Toady lately? Where can she be. I would love her to pop back in sometime.

    Take care all,

    Elizabeth xx

Anyone in the cafe at the week-end and has any health problems please contact your nearest A&e department because after the flash bang wallop we have the contamination squad in. Health and safety have said we have to isolate the cauldron from food and drink so the understairs cupboard is being bricked up and a new entrance knocked through from the side. SORRY.Mig

Ok mig - safety first!! :? To think I thought all those customers wer etrying to get a bed to see Doc Clooney...they were actually ILL  I just stepped over them
    k050.gif
Will you still be the main keyholder for the side entrance??

I do hope Kath got on ok today and is home now safe and sound ((()))

thank you Joan as you say onwards and upwards. Looking forward to getting the dressing off totally on Wednesday.

Elizabeth you must be posh :) I hardly know anyone in our nearest Waitrose (Lichfield)

So you were best on the beam were you? I knew you were good, but am well-impressed as that is definitely challenging. Did any of your kids take after you?

Aw :( I am sorry you lost your cat during the marriage break-up. I lost my yorkie that way so sympathise ((()))

I had our dryer fixed by them as they only offered my replacement in white and mine was black. It was a simple fix though. Oooh I bet you can't wait to get the car and hope you have all the details by now?

Oh Gosh Barbara will you have that low-cut nightie on again tonight if George is in charge?

Absolutely yes pats must always be wrapped. I heard they can be frozen too if needs be and keep for up to 3 months.

(Christine good to see you even if only for a while :) )

    Aidan
I am really pleased to hear that Mum is still doing so well. Macmillan are great and so reassuring to have available. Mind you they also have you around :)

Diddicat said Pepe wasn't much good at catching mice although he was pretty good at 'juggling' them on his back paws.... :?

I'm glad you saw her she said she'll come down again soon. Bring you "poor humans" some rodent treats

Right better get Lucy's dinner cooked - lazy me today, but I am sooooo tired!!

Joan, I hope to find out how I did in the exam in the next few days.

Barbara, I used to use an electric blanket but it would be too warm for me now. I think all the beds will be full again if George is in charge again.

Elizabeth, it is very busy in here, isn't it? A new dryer and a new car. It's good to get new things. Hope you manage to sort out the car exchange. We haven't seen Toady for a long time. Hope she is ok and just busy.

Mig, oops. I did wonder what all the banging and hammering was. Do we have to throw out all the food and drink now?

Toni, are those cats playing with the mice again? The poor mice must be quite dizzy. I'm not surprised at all that you are tired. I hope you are getting your feet up for a while.

Kath, I hope it went well today and you are resting now.

I'm getting a bit freaked out with the slugs now. I put a pie on a tray in the oven yesterday and when I took it out, there was what looked like a cremated slug on the tray. There was nothing there when I put the tray in. Last night I put the dishes in to soak then forgot about them. This morning as I was emptying the dishes out of the bowl, there was a slug bobbing about in the water. :( My GD's latest homework was to show that she could pick something up and that she could walk up and down stairs. She's been picking things up since she was a few months old and using the stairs for over a year on her own.
