I am starting to worry about those slugs too. Might you need pest control - or is that too extreme??

Oh My, no wonder Matron was not in a happy humour last night, with the explosion and necessity to have the cauldron cupboard bricked up. :o
The beds are completely isolated now, in their own bubbles, (there's a name I know, lol). Hattie is on tonight, so she will make sure the decontamination goes according to plan. s070.gif Anything with contaminant on, will be binned. I think we had best close the ward for a few nights and put Holby City on call, until Mig gives us the all clear.

I agree Barbara, it was chilly this morning - I know, I was cool, cold fingers. So, I put the heating on   OH said, well it is nearly October, from then on I am a block of ice until May............The heating was not on for long. Not sure I could cope with an electric over blanket. Mum had one, she loved it, mind you she was a cold little morsel bless her.
A low cut nightie, oh my. Steady away now Barbara, George is off for a while now.

Hi Elizabeth, hoping you can get comfortable, it is horrible when the bones and joints keep us awake. I think we all need to be in outer space and be weightless for a while, that would be nice, just floating about.
Good that the spiders have retreated to their webs - wherever they may be :?
Glad they replaced your dryer, I read about the ones that had been catching fire. The man that brought our new one (not same make), said that it was a simple thing, that had been omitted, hence the fluff built up on the heating elements..........eeek. I must say I am adoring the dryer since they replaced the faulty one. This one is on every day, doing exactly what you ask of it. With three pus cats there is always washing to do. Hair balls, etc.......Toni will sympathise I am sure.
Very odd that there has been no contact from Motability. We already have out PIN and we don't pick the car up till November. Worth a phone call, some paperwork might have gone astray, they are normally very much on the ball.
New York Cheesecake is just the BEST isn't it. All gone, that's the way, no point letting it hang around :)

Pepe is very good at bunny kicks, well, all three of them are, always makes me chuckle. Diddicat is right, he is no mouser. No worries about rodent treats thanks all the same lol.

Another dryer repair, well, we are all sorted for getting our clothes all soft and fluffy. Sorry you are feeling wiped out Toni, sending lots of hugs your way, to one and to all.

Oh slugs Christine, what are we going to do with them. I had a look round and found this, DIATOMPEST® PEST GRADE 350G DIATOMACEOUS EARTH.
    https://www.diatomretail.co.uk/collections/diatompest
Not sure if you have used it, but it might be worth a try. You don't want them getting into everything, horrible for you hun.
Looking forward to hearing good news about your exam. :)

Kath I hope you are ok, I am sure you will update us asap. Take lots of care. That goes for everyone else too.

Right, I am creaking like an old barn door. Time to move, more tramadol needed. The seasons are changing, I think it affects us all..........

I see I missed a bit of excitement in the cafe on Monday. At least you can't blame me. Mind you, I did cause a bit of excitement myself at the hospital. Everything went alright BTW. Well until at least the last 10 minutes. I went to the loo. No, that wasn't it. It was a single cubicle, with an outer room with a wash basin. As I went in, my hand felt wet. I looked down and my cannula had come out and blood was everywhere. So I pulled the red cord and went in the loo. Well I was busting. Managed to use it. But couldn't pull my knickers up. Eventually a pack of lovely nurses came to my aid. calling "It looks like a bloodbath in here." Thanks Katy! She shuffled in on pure white towels and put a pad on my hand. So I could pull my knickers back up. Luckily I'd had the good sense not to go into the corridor - ever thoughtful of others, and all was cleaned up. Infusion cut a bit short, but successful. So apart from a bruise where the cannula came out, no problems. Next one 10th October.

Oh I am glad that the cafe is open again. I will unwrap the beds from their protective bubbles...........I see Kath has kindy stocked up the fridge - I will amass some scones and leave them in the tin, plus some extra new york cheesecake and vanilla whatsis't for Barbara.

Having to start again with the potion. Oh dear, we have very little time before Haloween Mig. Are frogs and toads no longer safe  We had better gather things that are appropriate for the new potion. let us know what you need. Slugs, there are slugs al over the place, Christine has a house full.......... :?

Sorry you had a bad night Barbara and hugs that you are feeling a bit better now and for a better nights rest later. I will leave some anti sickness pills out, just in case.

Yes, we are looking forward to our new car, SO much. Having said that, we have just been out and spent most of the deposit - new carpets and lino for the house........... ...ooops. Better shuffle a bit of £ round again, or he won't let us have the car and I would pitch a fit.

I missed the bit about you being on the beam Elizabeth, well done you. I was pretty hopeless at school, remember the climbing things that were fixed to the walls, I got to the top of one and then froze. PE teacher had to come up and coax me down. Cross country running was a joke, we just took a short cut and stopped at the shop on the way,:lol:

Kath, I hope the bruising soon goes. Glad all went well, apart from a little "incident" in the loo. Blood goes far and wide, even a small amount. Kind nurses that came to your aid - Matron is most pleased that you were well looked after :) White towels, no worries, they are boiled to within an inch of their lives. A good helping of arnica and the bruising will go quickly. It will have kept them on their toes lol.

Joan, hope you are ok, it is marching on this year. At last it is cooler and, which is good for Barbara and moi. It started out a horrid day, lake district lane, the sort that soaks you through. Now it is bright sunshine, with a lovely breeze. Take care and enjoy your trips out.

Toni, hope you are resting as much as possible. As said, the past few weeks are catching up with you - as things do with us all. One can only go on adrenaline for so long and then we go FLOP. Hugs to all, Lucy I will be there for the dressing removal. Hi to Diddicat, pepe says hi too.

So, the mcmillan nurse came to see mum, she was pleased with how things are going at the moment. Carry on what she is doing and she will pop back in a couple of weeks. We can call her if needed. She loves the coffee I make. I said when she pulled up, you can smell the machine. All had a good natter. Mum is feeling not too bad at the moment, walking more, enjoying her trips to the garden centre and of course a scone.

Then we went to "look" at some new carpets, well, as said, we are having the hall, lounge, one bedroom and the en suite done.....next week ! Had to pop into Ner--- to get over the shock with a toastie and a lemon muffin. Well, they need replacing, they don't owe us anything now and it's so nice to go shopping LOL.

Off to Mar--- and Sp---- tomorrow, plus a visit to the other Ner---, more coffee, more snacks, more cake - what a chore.

Right, I had better move. I am flagging a bit after all the excitement. Hugs and love to one and to all. Everyone take lots of care.
Madam Poppy Pomfrey (from happy potter), is the nurse in charge tonight, expect some magic lol. Oh, she might be able to help with the cauldron escapade.

Toni, I am thinking of phoning pest control for advice but thinking they'll only suggest slug pellets and I already put them down. I've got copper tape but not sure where to put it other than all round the edges of the kitchen floor.

Aiden, I felt the cold a bit when I got home from work but am ok now. Don't think it will be long before I put the heating on for a bit in the evenings. Thanks for the link. I had a quick read through. There was a bit which said sprinkle on the skin and rub in well. Eeek! That was actually for getting rid of fleas on dogs. Might be worth a try. I'm glad your mum is feeling good at the moment and enjoying getting out.

Joan, I hope it isn't too cold for you. It's about that time of year for having the heating on.

Kath, glad you're ok after all the excitement. It must have been a bit scary but you seem quite cheery at the moment. Hope you are feeling well. You've done very well restocking the kitchen cupboards and fridge. Lots of lovely yummy meals.

Mig, a full restock then. Lots of cake I think. As for the potion, I have slugs you can have. It seems to be one a night but by Halloween, there should be plenty.

Barbara, sorry to hear you've had a bad night. Hope tonight is better. Not sure how many episodes of My Girl there have been but I've watched the first one. Brilliant programme although not for her. So you have slugs too. I have a box on the floor for kitchen waste for the compost bin but never seen any slugs in there.

I've past 2 lovely young women over the last few days. One was walking in the same direction as me pushing a buggy with a small toddler toddling along. As I past, she apologised for being in my way. There was no need to but it showed she was thinking of others. Today, I moved over to make room for the other young lady to get past and she said thank you with a big smile. I've noticed not many young people would do this so it brightens my day when they do.

Kath - well DONE you first IV done and dusted :D Hehe!! Good on you giving the nurses something different to do!!

mig anything you need for the cauldron? I got plenty of large sp****s here?

Barbara I haven't bothered with My Girl I liked Lacey Turnet (is it?) last series and don't 'do' change well. Another soap actress? nah!

Can't rest we have the Royal orthopaedic now to see the Professor so got to get Lucy going also dentist tomorrow. Epilepsy on Monday Dr Tim Tuesday. It's all go

Love to Joan, Sue and Doggies :)

Will let you all know later how she gets on

    Not a good appointment.

He hasn't yet applied for funding.....some admin error where he didn't know we had moved??

Having said that the last 5 he applied for have all been turned down.

He WILL apply but expects to be turned down and there is no appeals procedure. He can try NHS England, but not sure about that either.

The condition needs to be super-rare. i.e 1:1000,000 rather than hers which is 1:100,000

Needless to say Lucy is devastated as are we :(

We have asked him to find out how much it would cost us.....????

Also found out more about the procedure, but that's irrelevant ATM :(

(Hope you find some great curtains Barbara and cushions without feathers :) )

Toni, thank goodness Daisycat came back home. It's a worry when they go wandering.

Joan we had a very warm day today. Very dark clouds but lovely sunshine. Hope you had some too.

Barbara, I could have sent you some sunshine this morning because I wasn't using it. Hope you got your curtains and cushion insides. It is annoying when the feathers poke you.

Toni, that is devastating news. We'll all be keeping our fingers crossed, praying and sending lots of positive vibes your way to make sure Lucy gets the funding. (((hugs)))

I got some of the spare bedroom sorted out this morning. Can't remember if I told you but my daughter has just booked flights to come over from Australia on Boxing Day. They'll be staying with her in-laws in Edinburgh for a week and a half then coming here for a week and a half. Can't wait. It was my DIL's dad's birthday today so we had a little tea party for him. Good to spend some time with the grandkids.

Thank you Mig, Barbara and Christine. Lucy will bounce back, as will I , but she might take a little longer.

Let's hope we can win the battle for funding, but not only for her - it has to be the way forward for all of us really needing joint replacements in future!

These bones are as good as our original ones. Better than metal, which can cause problems for some people. They wont wear out our sockets so less need for revisions.

Christine - I am glad you had a nice 'tea' for your GD's Grandad :)

Even better that your daughter will be visiting in the new year!!!!!! YIPPEE!!! :D

Toni, the new bones sound brilliant. Fingers crossed still. I'll pop over and read your thread. Good news about the AVN.

Joan, I don't know how long they can leave Australia for. I didn't know there was a limit but they'll only be away for 3 weeks anyway.

Barbara, there is no more news on my sil's job. Might be Xmas before we know anything. I'm sure you will get your curtains. And I'm sure you will have had a lovey time with your niece.

Aiden, hope you are ok and it's no more than computer problems.

I found a lovely rag doll and a Frozen cushion today. Both of my youngest GDs would love them. I think I'll give the cushion to the youngest (as my other GD won't be able to take it back to Australia anyway) and allow them both to play with the doll at my house. Just hope they won't fight over them.

Oh well-done Christine they will love them :)

Now last night - in the shed - the GP wasn't in, but the pert control man was and I mentioned your slugs.

He said you have a gap somewhere. He has known them get inside via people's overflow pipes? So you need to start searching.

A very late evening / early morning.

Just to say I am ok, I have had a quick read, Toni, I am knocked backwards regarding the lack of funding for such an important operation in a young person's life. I would shout from the rafters, write to the MP, then the National Institute For Clinical Excellence, then the press............
I have a positive feeling, as Barbara has said and I join forces in praying and sending THE most positive vibes to you, to Lucy, your Consultant, the funding body, everyone. Everything I can muster is on its way :) Good news from the dentist visit.

Did diddicat go wandering. Oh yes, no, Pepe cannot remember seeing her. Mind you, he cannot remember where his litter trayh is unless I take him.

Good news about your daughter coming over from the other side of the world Christine. How exciting is that. Steady with the outlet pipes and U bends...........

I am ok Barbara, we are sorting and getting ready for the carpet fitters, who arrive next week. Lots of throwing out of "stuff" that we neither use, nor want. WIRES, we have hundreds of wires, for every possible device under the sun. Anyway, 90% are in the bin, along with a host of other rubbish. I know I have done too much and even insisted I helped move some furniture, OH was having a fit, but I was adamant. Now, well, it's pay back, but such is the mystery of arthur.
