    Good morning everyone :D

Happy Anniversary Aidan and hubs :)

    t5505.gif

A big one next year then :)

I hope your left knee is ok today and if not that the veggie breakfast helps take your mind of it  Force it down man!!

I saw that last night too I imagine the Royal's sister would soon sort out the wife of the man who passed wind!!!

Christine - I thought that about the person who was cold. Do you think it was because they know older people can die of hypothermia???

My ex MIL puts baileys in her coffee in the winter. I have hazelnut or caramel in my hot chocs. Syrups you can buy in any supermarket. Your glasses sound proper cosy :)

It was the driver's responsibility to stop the lads pushing the bus on I agree. At least they weren't in those dreadful clown outfits :(

mig can add an anti clown sachet to her potion this year I think.

Barbara I don't want to see any nuddy men walking or otherwise. I don't like the idea at all. YUK. Rudey-dudey. Natural or not streakers get 'done' for it don't they?

    u020.gif

I always wished Charlie and Duffy would get married.... :(

Kath I hope you feel a little more yourself today after your 2nd infusion and a good night's sleep?? I hope the thigh and knee are not so sore too.

Joan there are triggers for migraines yes for some people. Stress (!) hormones, cheese, chocolate, missing meals, late nights, alcohol etc Sadly I never found my trigger. Nor has Charley.

How interesting you a leftie and Sue a rightie!! Proper mirror-twins :)

    Love to everyone Elizabeth ((()))

Happy anniversary Aidan. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Sorry I never got back. I do read back but by time I get to post I have so much to remember! I'm also so tired and have disrupted sleep due to pain, although I'm no longer roasting hot.

So we had Lucy's 13th birthday on Sunday and her hospital on Tuesday. she's fixed her appointments to clash with PE clever girl. :)

Joan Dan does not like respite-we spoil him too much. Yes we had a Chinese Barbara but It was so filling and costs too much so they won't be regular, although Jack and Lucy loved the chicken in batter.

I've seen the nude man (on TV). He keeps getting sent back to prison doesn't he? I love the sound of fish soup. I had mussels yesterday and panicked a bit because with my immune system I really should't risk eating them. I'm okay and lived to tell the tale.

Kath I decided against D. having the flu vaccine as I could not find enough info but I know I will not be having the flu vacc myself. I've actually had less breathing issues since coming off humira, it is a nice feeling- long may it continue. Ritux is still not kicking in and my bones are aching. Yes I was very, very tired after second infusion.

I've always liked clowns, they used to have circus schools in the USSR so its all close to gymnastics for me. Now If it was cybermen I'd really freak.

Applerose the children at Lucy's school all push and shove when getting on the bus. Sometimes the driver refuses to drive off until they behave but even Lu gets fed up with their behaviour and often takes the train home instead, much more civilised, but she has to pay for the train whereas buses are free here. There are lots of stabbings and attacks in London area-they hardly ever make the news!

OH is getting fish n chips tonight and I'm feeling really tired as I waited up for 2 parcels, neither arrived, but managed to do some ironing, so not entirely wasted day. I can't seem to get going either Barbara.

Boris turned up for the school celebrations. I think that was nice of him seeing as he has far bigger fish to fry being Foreign Secretary.

I would hate to get migraines Toni. Headaches are bad enough.

Gosh time is flying, the fish n chips will be here very soon!!!! I won't be having any, I'll be off to listen to my friends radio show and chat to my soulie friends while resting in bed. I can't take the pace nowadays.

    Elizabeth xxxx

A lovely long post Elizabeth, but I can hear how tired you are ((())) for you. Glad the breathing is easier though.

I hope Your Lucy got on ok and well done her avoiding PE.

Migraines are dreadful, but I've been having them close on 40 years now so can cope.

Enjoy your fish and chips and your rest listening to your radio programme.

I take it the nude man is in trouble for indecent exposure??

    Barbara
it's tonight the shed, but I shan't be going as Paul is in Scotland :( ya booh :(

I rather like the bee hearts I know Aidan will too even if he doesn't like buzzing.

That soup sounds lovely!! Your son is a great man :)

Finished making some small curtains today and did my ironing too. then I tidied out my late Mum's sewing box. Shouldn't have done that it was sort of sad.

    Love to you all

Aiden, happy anniversary. Hope you've both had a lovely day and your knee is better. I've heard of adding chilli to chocolate and adding chocolate to chilli con carne. Not tried either myself.

Toni, I thought the cold person didn't sound old but maybe he was and you could be right about worrying about hypothermia. I tried Baileys in chocolate but I prefer my Baileys straight. I haven't seen the syrups anywhere except C*sta and then you need to buy a set of 4, including a couple I didn't want. Are the ones in the supermarket especially to add to drinks? Hope Mig does come up with an anti-clown potion. If I'd seen one a week ago, I'd have laughed and thought no more about it but it's gone crazy with them deliberately scaring and threatening people. The said on the news that the shops have been asked to stop selling the costumes for a while. Wouldn't it be lovely if Charlie and Duffy did get together. They are very well suited. Hope you had some good memories while tidying your mum's sewing box even though it was sad.

Joan, no I haven't tried the mint hot chocolate. I'll have to look out for it. Only a fortnight till your appointment. Hope it doesn't seem to far away for you.

Barbara, I think the change in season might be to blame. I didn't get going till mid-morning today. Someone else was saying the same. You'll have to let us know if your GD and her GF do decide on a civil ceremony or wedding as we'll all need to buy hats. As you say, still a bit early. You don't want them rushing in to it. I knew it was hard for the ambulance staff but didn't realise how difficult their jobs are. Fancy having to decide who gets an ambulance and who doesn't. And the abuse they get both physical and verbal. Shocking. I'd be tempted to just leave the patients who behaved so badly. Fish soup and crusty bread. Sounds yummy.

Kath, hope you are feeling a bit better today.

Elizabeth, I sometimes have the same problem. I read through then can't remember what was said so you're not the only one. Hope the pain eases soon. Happy birthday to Lucy. Hope she had a lovely day. Good girl arranging the appointment to clash with PE. Good to hear your breathing is better without the humira. Hope the ritux kicks in soon. Those cybermen were seriously scary, weren't they? I could barely look at the tv when they were on. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

My DIL had a phone call from the school today to say that my GS had been in a fight and he was put in isolation. For the last few weeks he has been saying that a couple of boys have been pushing him around. My dil told me one of them had even pinned him up against the wall by the throat then threw him to the floor. My GS knew that fighting isn't tolerated and I don't think he knew what to do so he just walked away. Well today, it seems he'd had enough and laced in to one of the boys. He was put in isolation but the head said no more would be said unless it happened a few times. The other boys who'd been bullying him weren't even spoken to but have texted my GS asking if they can be friends now. I hope they mean it as my GS is usually very quiet.

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes and hearts and bee's ( we love bees ).
We have had a very nice day, brunch was just fine and I did manage to force myself to eat a scone as well - one has to keep up the standards. After lunch I was at the podiatrist, at our local community hospital. I was well overdue and not far off growing trotters instead of feet. They feel SO much better now. :D Knees and bones and joints are, shall we say, much the same, drugged.

Maybe one day Duffy and Charlie will appear Toni, as a married couple, that would be a day in Casualty. No, we don't want to see a rudey dudey wandering. I expect they would be arrested for indecent exposure, even though it is quite natural for him. Not everyone wants to see wobbly bits :lol:

Baileys, eww, way too sickly, not that I drink a drop anyway, but I did try it a long time back and thought it was sickly, but I know it is popular.
Dad bought some syrup in Sain
last week, to put in his coffee. It was the same as they have in Ner-. Come to think of it I am not sure if they sell it in their coffee shops. I will have to go in and have a scone and coffee now, just to check.
Shame you missed the "shed". Hurry back from Bonnie Scotland then we can all go for a sherry - well, a tonic for me. Did I ever mention I am totally addicted to Slimline Tonic, I drink gallons of it. OH says it is the devil's work, lol. He worked in Schwepps, with the quinine and said it was horrendous, with the dust etc. All the same, I adore it. I know, I am bonkers.
Handy with the sewing machine I see. Sad to go through things isn't it. I know the feeling. I have all dads diaries from 19 dot. He had a lot of time to fill, he spent 19 years in hospital, with TB of the bone. Caught it from milk, when he was 5 years old. I was reading a few pages from one the other day. "managed to walk two yards, after a year in plaster cast" - wow, what a patient man he was, God Bless him.

Joan I trust you are both enjoying your trips out and hope the foot appointment goes well. Hugs to both and to the doggies too. Thank you for your well wishes.

We sing from the same hymn sheet Barbara, regarding cakes, hot weather etc. I hope your GD does have a civil ceremony. Ours was very quiet, just both sets of parents and us two. It was very nice, had a lovely meal afterwards.
I must see if the ambulance programme is on catch up, mind you, I would be so so cross, it would not do my blood pressure any good.
I get so cross when people slate those who have a cigarette, you cannot see them in the shops, in case you are tempted and now they are in plain packets as well. But, you can buy any amount of alchohol, in every pretty colour under the sun and drink yourself into the ditch. It doesn't make sense. Anyway, I mustn't get wound up.
I have never had fish soup, but I will try some.

Kath thank you for the lovely flowers - hope you are ok and feeling a bit better. Sending hugs

You do sound very tired Elizabeth, I hope you feel better soon. Good move to fix the appointments to clash with PE, I totally agree. :)
Good to hear that your breathing is easier, that is a plus for sure. Let's hope the Ritux kicks in very soon. Hurting bones are just so horrid aren't they.
I don't blame the driver for not letting them on until they behave. We would have been in so much trouble, but, times have changed beyond belief.
Good that Lucy has the presence to get the train.
The clown thing is getting so out of hand now. Freaking people out, just for the hell of it and because it is the next trend. I would clatter them with my crutches. Some people are just like lemmings
Hope you had a good rest and chat with your friends.

Thank you for the well wishes Christine.
I will have to look for a new hat as well, if we have Civil Ceremonies. :D:D
It is crazy isn't it, this clown mania. I have never been a great fan of them.
The ambulance crew really are on the front line of patient care, the same in casualty. I cannot count how many times I have been kicked, spat at, punched, thrown up on (stale beer stinks), all while trying to give necessary cares. We used to have full time Police, armed police sometimes.
I sincerely hope your GS receives full apologies from the bullies. If they want to be friends, then they will have to earn that status. Good for him for sticking up for himself. The school head should be talking to them and giving them a serious ticking off. Bullying can lead to being thrown out of the school and rightly so.

On that note I had better move. My eyes are boggling, I think I am too close to the pc. :?
Everyone take lots of care. XXXX Aidan

    Morning everyone

Christine the syrups are in supermarkets in the region of the posh coffe machine coffees, pods etc and aren't cheap. They do last a long time though :) Same stuff as costa, but large bottles and individual flavours.

My hairdresser gets some instant coffee something egberts?? which has caramel in it.

I know what you mean those clowns are nasty. Is there a scary film or something that the kids have seen that I haven't?

I am with Elizabeth and you about the cybermen too. Too scary by half!

Let's hope the business with the nasty lads is sorted now and your GS standing up for himself results in them laying off him. It's so unfair isn't it? How old is he?

Aidan I am very glad to hear you had such a lovely day...the podiatrist sounded bliss!!

It would be lovely if they got married wouldn't it Duffy and Charlie :)
    g053.gif

Then all our old favourites can come for the 'do' :)

You made me laugh about the rudey -dudey man!! Nope u020.gif

Paul loves slimline tonic too!! but it has to be cold very cold. I hope it didn't do your OH any harm that factory

Oh Aidan, how lovely to have those diaries! It is sad reading them, but it makes us 'feel' them as people like us not just our parents. Your Dad sounds to have had a rough time bless him. Nasty business TB :(

Don't get wound up about other people's addictions Aidan it is not good for the BP! I agree best not to judge. Alcohol is pretty evil if you can't take it or leave it. It's legal, cheap(er than ****), socially acceptable,(unlike illegal drugs), but it ruins lives.

It is why my step-daughter does not have her Mum and is stuck with me.

Right better get dressed I am having a very lazy morning!!

well, exciting times ahead I think Rheumy nurse rang yesterday. I was supposed to have an appointment with her on Monday to discuss Zolondronic Acid infusion. cancelled now. My Osteoclasts are pretty good and I don't need the infusion at the moment.

This morning another phone call. Physio are sending someone to give me an assessment for mobility and possibility some exercises. Am I excited? Mmm, I'll let you know.

Aidan, I feel proper ashamed of myself  Your poor dad must have been so courageous. I admire him enormously. A true gentleman.

Toni, I think you mean'It' with Tim Curry among others. Dead scary. "They all float down here!" Those wanting to deliberately scare others need a good scare themselves! :o

Afternoon all. What was a sunny day is getting cooler and more cloudy as the afternoon wears on.
I didn't like the cybermen either. Not sure why, but Mum said I used to go behind the sofa or put cushions in front of me.

No I think OH survived the quinine powders. It was a long time ago. I am sure everything is so automated now, that no one goes even near it. Glad I have a tonic loving counterpart. I can drink it cold or room temp. Hope his man flu has gone away.
No, I won't watch the ambulance show, I have decided it would not be condusive to my health lol. I am certain Tia is quite happy with you and yours.

Nothing wrong with having a lazy morning. We had the same really. Mum n Dad popped in for a coffee and I opened the tin of Belgian biscuits from Mar--- and S
, they are on offer, half price and we need a new biscuit tin, so it was rude not to get one. They are rather nice, but I only had three, or my blood sugars will be up.

Did you go to the Theatre Royal Mig? I remember going there a few times. Glad you enjoyed it, I bet the music was brilliant. Congrats too for being together for 50 years too. Lunch at the Thai restaurant too, very nice indeed.

Joan, my feet do feel so much better, well, what I can feel of them which is not much. But they look better, lol. I am used to having neuropathy now   Hope you have a good day, hi to Sue and lots of pats to the doggies too.

Kath, that's good news about the cancellation of the infusion. I am always wary of the physios, but I am sure they will do their best. Maybe it is just me, not having very positive impressions in the past.
Don't feel ashamed, Dad was always happy to talk about the years spent in hospital. He was in Harlow Wood, Mig, you will remember where that is, on the way to Mansfield, or Ollerton, it is not there now, but it was the ortho hospital. He did most, if not all of his schooling in there. He said Matron was very strict, but also very kind and she used to bring in treats for them.
His diaries would make a brilliant film, of one mans battle with TB, then going on to be a Clergyman.
I am no good with scary movies, I remember going to the cinema in Loughborough to see Friday the 13th. Right at the end, I thought it was all over, with the lovely lake and the boat with the girl in it. I went to get up and then the darned body came out of the water, I fell backwards and went over into the next row. How embarrassing is that. :lol::lol: Mind you, everyone else was screaming too.

Right, it is time for pills all round. pus cat included. I will love you all and leave for now.
Everyone take care, lots of care. XXX Aidan

    Good morning everyone :)

I hope you are all as well today as you can be.

there is a man outside cutting down some conifers by about 1/3  should let more light in anyway.

Joan it sounds as though you are lucky to have survived being born with pneumonia!

Barbara I also found letters from my Dad to my Mum from when they were together and he had to work away. It is hard to read it all, but also lovely. They were people not just Mum and Dad :)

What is your boy like! Imagine driving to yours!! I am very glad to hear all was well in the end at any rate :)

Aidan Diddicat sends chirrrups and purrs back to your 3 and I send strokes and ear massages :) To them not you two

Oh yes that was me too

    e035.gif

My sister used to laugh at me :(

Good to hear OH survived the quinine overdose, but it is good it's now automated.

Have you ever had teisseire cordial in France? they do citron and pamplemousse?? Paul loves those and I can buy it from our local co-op!!

I am the same with scary films I ran out right at the beginning of Friday 13th I was so scared!!!

Kath good news about the lack of need for infusion also that the physio is coming to your house. It will be good so long as they are gentle with you :)

I agree with you about the clowns although apparently there was one in a town near here and two people went for it and it ran off!!!!! hah!

I hope lunch out was good mig and you enjoyed being with your daughter.

No need to ask if you enjoyed the theatre that is obvious!! Rest up until the aches recover :)

Aiden that is wonderful to have your dad's diaries. It sounds as if he had a very hard time. I don't think you should watch The Ambulance. I think you would get quite upset. You needed a new biscuit tin? What a great excuse. Which little pussycat is that? He looks so cute. Don't blame him enjoying the warmth.

Toni, I will have a look for the syrups near the coffees. I don't really drink coffee so haven't looked there. My ex partner used to (might still) drink Douwie Egberts. Nothing wrong with a lazy morning. That's what everyone tells me. It was nice bumping in to you and you family in our High Street last night ........ in my dream.

Mig, the jam session sounds great. Hope you enjoyed your lunch out with your daughter.

Kath, that sounds good not needing the infusion at the moment. Hope things go well with the physio whatever you and they decide.

Barbara, you are so right about getting things written down about our parents and grandparents lives. There is so much I want to ask my grandparents but it's too late now. My dad's sister is now 97. They haven't seen each other for a lot of years so my sister is going to try to arrange to take my dad to visit her. I glad your son is ok. I guess that sort of thing can happen even to the experts.

Joan, did you have a blood transfusion when you had pneumonia or did it just affect your blood, do you think? Hope things are as well as they can be with you and Sue.

Turns out the 2 boys who had been bullying my GS had already been excluded from school for a couple of days the other week. Not sure what for but it must have been quite bad. Everything seems ok at the moment though. My boss and his family are away next week. Not sure whether or not to take a day or two off as there won't be much to do.

Hi all, yes, I am writing before midnight, wonders will never cease.

This little terror is Pepe, THE most spoiled pus cat in Lancashire. He is always trying to open the dryer, so he didn't miss the chance to nip in while I was folding laundry. OH said, Where is Pepe? I said, oh, he's in the dryer, preening. He would be very fluffy if he came out of the dryer, lol.

Don't let those cute looks fool you Christine - he has me totally at his beck and call, in fact he is watching me now, ready to nip into the kitchen and whine for food. He waits until I have just sat down, then starts. The girls are both fast asleep on the sofa. They are equally petted and pampered, but they get on with their biscuits without any fuss.
Indeed Dad did have a very tough time from a very young age. The Drs said he would never see 50, well, he proved them wrong and despite a plethora of health issues, he lived until he was 84. I will never part with his diaries. They are safe and sound in the Ottoman.

The new biscuit tin was a great excuse, in fact the tin is just to my right - I might feel the need to check they are all ok.

Glad to hear that things are ok with your GS. Indeed, the bullies would not have been sent home for no reason. I am sure they are being kept an eye on, there should be zero tolerance to any bullying.

Oh, take a day or two off - as you say, if there is little that needs doing, then enjoy some me time. :)

We had our usual trip to the garden center, we had hardly got to a table and my coffee arrived, lol. I guess we are part of the furnishings now.
    Called in to Sain
, then the vets, for pepe's prescription food (he has a super delicate tummy).
No plans for the week end, OH has cut the grass. Some tidying to do in the garden - everything is still growing, sweet peas still flowering like mad.
A pottering time for me, fussing, with cloth in hand. Hoping me knees stop hurting so much - keeping me awake. A trip to the surgery me thinks for a depomedrone injection.

Hi to Everyone else, Barbara, Mig Elizabeth Toni Joan and all.

George is on duty over the week end, so extra beds are on the way to the ward. :D
Take care, one and all. XX Aidan

Apparently Aidan, (according to Diddicat), it's the latest thing to do a bit like us planking....

    th_111.jpg

Pepe is ADORABLE!!! For some reason I think Daisycat rather hero-worships him. I think she is taking 'people training, lessons' from him. :?

Gosh your Dad did do well 84 with TB!! You should never part with his diaries I agree.

Good job you put in extra beds on the ward I believe George has been very busy...swooning epidemic or some such???

It's lovely being seen as a regular at your fav garden centre and getting treated well :)

Yesterday we had some of our conifers 'topped' by about 20ft!!! It's so much lighter out there now. He is returning on Sunday to do more.

Joan all I can say is. at that weight, your Mum must have been a very determined lady to rear you both so healthy! Thank you Lucy is doing very well walking better than before her op now I think.

Carol!! Lovely to see you in the café please sit down and have a cuppa. Should you feel at all weak and feeble the Dr on duty this weekend is George (Clooney). :D

Christine :) I would have loved to have bumped into you in the high street!! :D we would have stopped at the nearest café for a natter wouldn't we?

That's the make. I have boring old nescaf most of the time and my posh coffee the rest.

I agree with you and Barbara - I have so little on paper due to the premature loss of both my parents. I also grew up without Grandparents both sides :(

Really it's down to me to start from now I think.

There you go then! Those boys are known troublemakers!

Take a day off go on - you know you want to :)

Right hello to everyone I missed.

Off to wake Paul up for a short walk

    Love

    Toni xxx

Good morning all hope everyone is as well as can be expected

    TONI
after a really unmotivated fed up day on Thursday due to a combination of things I have given myself a good talking to and one big kick up the rear end and am feeling a little better about things, but just thinking I might have to spend the weekend in the café especially if George is duty Dr just in case of a relapse of course.:lol:

Take care everyone have a good weekend.
    Stay positive always👍xx
