Respite day so just popped in to see how you all are. Seems you are all wellish ( was it Vonski who used to say that Toni)?

Carol our OH's must be twins!

Kath how are you today? I think I had reasonable amount of pain today so I'm hoping that rituximab has finally kicked in. We will see.

Toni I felt sorry for the girl and used to allow her to come round and play but she let me down big time. I think she just mixed with the wrong crowd and wanted to impress them.
The batteries seem to run out really quickly and I have to remember to charge up on a regular basis.

It is cold and I'm debating whether to put the heating on. We have a few 'funny' windows that don't quite close, up until now it hasn't bothered me, especially with my overheating issues but I don't want the children shivering.

I watched the Victoria slum last night having missed the first episode. There have been a couple of similar programmes on this theme and I do find them interesting. Who do you think you are is a favourite.

Aidan where has your avatar gone? or is it just when I scroll back as now everybodies has gone?

Brrr.....off for a lie down buried under the quilt.

I've had a quick read through and everyone seems well-ish. Happy birthday to Aiden's OH. Hope he feels better soon.

Got a phone call yesterday lunch time to say that my daughter's mother-in-law had died suddenly. At the moment they think it may have been a heart attack but they need to do an autopsy as she was on a great deal of medication. My sil is in bits. He hasn't seen his parents since they set off for Australia 2 years ago. They've booked the flights to arrive at their house on Boxing Day but will have to come soon as they expect the funeral to be a week on Friday. My GD seemed fine when she was told about her gran but she is only 4. Although, for some reason, she thinks her friend at creche is dead too. My GS had lots of questions such as 'Is she a skeleton now?' and 'So why is Santa not dead. He is very old.' Such innocence. They can't comprehend what it actually means.

 Cake!!! I see cake!!! Kath left Aidan loads of cake

I didn't think your dogs would wear coats Joan. I bet they would feel silly!

Charley asked the skeleton question when she was 4 too and we lost my Dad. Christine I am so sorry for your family and the waves of upset you must all be feeling ((()))

    Such dreadful news :(

Elizabeth it WAS Vonski!! I miss her she was a character wasn't she?

I hope respite went ok for Dan and you.

I hope that girl gets her life back on track, but she did let you and Lucy down. How is Lucy doing? Ok I hope?

Oh dear badly fitting windows. ....that doesn't sound a cheap do :? I have braved the heating a few mornings and a few evenings too although only lit the fire I think twice with those logs that last 1 hour.

    Hi Aidan :)

I hope your OH had an ok day despite his dreadful cold :?

    t3332.gif

    to him!

There you go then!! Your complaint to Costa paid off and it's immaculate now and you followed it up with a compliment.

I also complained to whiskas about watery cat-milk at the same time as purina - am yet to receive a reply.

two more meeces I am afraid ...I am going to get Paul to rake up the leaves under the bushes and hedges that's were she is hunting them I have watched her!!

Barbara I also liked rusks as well as you and Aidan :) they are sugar free I think now, but still yum (if you get the chance!!)

I know what you mean about 'good' acts going off the X factor. I think the public like one 'silly' act, but this year they let a lot through didn't they? Thinking of the two lads with the uncooked chicken?

I hope you had a nice visit with your niece.

    Love to everyone

Thank you Kath, they are all delicious, I will have one immediately - I guess I could share, Toni, I see you have spied them lol.

Elizabeth let's hope the medicines are working and helping as much as they can.
Some children just want to impress others, to be liked, often missing out on such affection in their home life makes them bully others. Any attention being better then none. A shame.
Hope the respite is going well.
We have had the heating on a couple of times now, first thing in the morning and a little while in the evening. Sun has been shining today and the dryer is on, so I am cooked - there is no happy medium.
There have been a few series about times gone by, I rememeber one lady who has been in quite a few of them, an historian. They have been very good, very insightful.
Did my avatar vanish? Oh, not sure why, sometimes windows won't load images, for some unknown reason, better known only to microsoft.
Enjoy your lie down, won't be too long till I am horizontal.

Christine that is terrible news, even worse when family are so far away. That was always a worry when we were in France, but to be at the other side of the world. Oh bless, thoughts and prayers are with everyone. (((((((((()))))))))
Youngsters do ask the most innocent of questions.
Thank you for the well wirshes, OH is very snotty at the moment, but feeling better than previous days.

The doggies won't need coats with long coats already, it would be a bit like putting a coat on our ragdolls. Cookie, the Siamese wouldn't mind - my last siamese both had knitted jumpers, they loved them. Crazy owner, or what, lol.

Thank you for the B day cake and well wishes Toni. Help yourself to the cakes that Kath kindly left, they multiply, the more you eat !!
More meeces, oh dear. Good idea to rake up the leaves, well done Paul, we are right behind you, giving lots of support.
We will have to have a rusk party, seeing as we all like them. I might have to buy some tomorrow.

I read about the roof on the station coming down in the rain Barbara, terrible, it could have been a lot worse I imagine. Eeeks, you never know or expect things like that to happen. Sorry you didn't get chance to meet up with your Niece.
Skipton is wonderful, I lived there for umpteen years. It was not as full of coffee shops as it is now though. Nero's used to be Donald and Aitchison (spelling)? opticians. Much better as nero's now though. :)
It was bus trip day today, 10 coaches at least in the main car park.
We enjoyed our Skipton visit - Had brunch and a large slice of THE most chocolatey of chocolate fudge cake, ever. It was a maz ing. With cream, to help it down. OH does not usually like cake, so I sat there like a big hog and ate it all.:lol: not sure that one was calorie free...........ooops. Blood sugar is 4.7, so I am obviously not eating enough cakes.

Spent a fortune in Marks, those meal deals are really good. Can hardly shut they fridge now, so we are sorted for a while.

Pills done, time to have a quick sit in my chair, cup of T, some biscuits, then a nap, if the cats will allow....................bless em.

Hi to everyone else I have missed, it is never intentional, just me, being forgetful.

Carol Staffie's have a bad name don't they but I think its how they are treated. I hope you have a good day.
Carol two doggies then? I like in Staffordshire so lots of Staffies here and every single one I have met is adorable with their big wide smiles and silky backs

yes Staffies do have a very bad name as you say it the way they are treated by their owner after all they were bred to fight at the start and some people still train them to be aggressive and fight but I know a few and they are all just big softies if treated right. ours likes nothing better than cuddles and if you give him chance he would lick you to death :lol:

Thanks everyone for your thoughts for my sil and his family. My daughter said my sil won't get out of bed. His dad and brother are also taking it badly especially as sil's mum used to do all the paperwork, pay bills, washing clothes, everything. They are very lost at the moment but have a lot of other family and friends around them. They'll be ok in a while though.

Joan, dogs don't need coats when they have their own. They'll be warm enough. I don't like some of the costumes people put on their dogs.

Toni, goodness, there must be a lot of meeces in your garden. Hope they don't gang up on Daisycat. I missed the bit about the rusks. Are they the ones we used to give to our babies? I used to give one to baby, one to me.

Barbara, I'm guessing the rusks are the ones we gave to the little ones. Yes, thy were nice with milk. I'm going to have to look back to see what the uncooked chicken is about. Was it just recently that the roof of the station came down? How awful.

Aiden, glad your OH is feeling better now. That chocolate cake sounds wonderful. I bought a few ready meals from Icel*nd the other day so my freezer is groaning. I need to empty it a bit so I can get a few Xmas things in.

Mig, does your pet have long legs by any chance?

Carol, good to hear things are better at the moment. Hope it lasts. People seem to be divided in two about staffies. They either love them or hate them. I don't know any so couldn't say but I agree a lot has to do with how they are trained and treated by their owners.

I've had quite a busy pottering day and a walk down to the High Street to drop of some things to the charity shop. Forgot the fair was there so a lot of shops are closed.

Found this on FB by Giggles Over Tears with RA. Thought we'd all love to do this.

I would like to build a house of fun
    for people with RA,
A place where we could all meet,
    Just to laugh and play.
Where nitrous oxide fills the air,
We might hurt, but we won't care.
With curly slides and monkey bars,
wear roller blades and smoke cigars
(the only thing I could rhyme here, so sorry)
We'd hoola hoop and play in sand…
And we'd play legos using our hands!
We'd have a room to bounce and jump,
And land without any pain on our rump.
    We'd eat sugar without pain,
Then we'd dance out in the rain.
I would 'like' to build a house of fun
    for people with RA…
    I 'thought' I could not do it…
    Maybe just not today.

Crikey did people drown at the station Barbara? or drowned due to the rain? Either way that is terrible I've only seen a brief announcement about it.

So sorry to read about D's MIL and being so far away too. Seems it was sudden and unexpected. Its very sad especially as they were expecting to come over and stay with her for Christmas as they hadn't seen her for several years. It is so difficult for children to understand and I can remember dreading breaking the news to mine.

Thanks for the good wishes with respite but I've had to make a complaint but can't say anymore.

Those flipping clowns. Lu text me to say the school had had a 'warning' and they were coming to get them but think its just a stupid online thing that's been going round. I wonder if it will stop after Halloween when people start focusing on fireworks and Christmas.

Toni Lu has been very strong and coped well so far, all on her own. She's now getting some input/help and hope she can get some coping mechanisms in place before any problems kick back in.
Three windows have issues so a nice new triple glazed set would be nice but expensive. One has cracked glass(OH lit a fire too close to the house), one won't shut due to a broken metal bar and one looks like somebody tried to lever it open when we were building the extension and now doesn't shut properly.

Carol sometimes we have to let rip at the men and sometimes they listen!

    Anyone watching the missing?

Okay I'm just parcel waiting again. I'd much rather get some kip.

    Take care all

Afternoon to one and all, is it me, or has the heating gone back on outside - I am sure it was cold last night and today, I am in a lather. Male menopause, that's it, hot flashes.

Mig, you have a spider that runs like Hussain Bolt !! OM Goodness :o Have a lovely time heading North to Leeds and York. You will enjoy the Emmerdale Tour. It's lovely ere up in t'north.

Carol I am pleased to hear that Mr TG has improved his ways after a little word in his shell like. It might need repeating at regular intervals  or take the fuse out of the laptop plug, that would cause a fuss :lol:

A work colleague had a Staffie and she was as soft as butter, such a fuss pot, she would lick you to death as well. She used to have a little wee wee by accident, she was so excited when people came in. Bless her. I know they get bad press, but she was adorable.

Christine, such sad times bring on so many changes, when you are used to someone else sorting things out etc. I know how lost they feel, as we all do I think. Good that friends and family are around to shoulder some of the stresses with them. ((((((((())))))))

See, you love rusks too, they are definitely going in the cafe biscuit tin from now on. It says that they are suitable for all ages from 4-6 months onwards, so that's fine for us all :)
Glad you enjoyed your pottering day in town. All the fun of the fair as well.
I love the poem - excellent and very true.

Joan, OH is still very snotty and feeling pretty rough at the moment. I hope I don't get it too, any cold goes straight to my chest, it by passes my nose :? then I end up on weeks of AB's and steroids. So, touch wood...............
I bet your doggies love their cuddles, I never thought of them as bad tempered breeds.
Take care, hi to Sue and doggies.

Barbara, glad you like Skipton, I loved living there, but property is just silly prices now, just because of the name. Move a few miles out and you get a lot more for your money. We normally go when the market is not on, so that we can park very easily. It was not bad yesterday, even though the market was on. The cake was fab and I obviously needed a scone to go with it. lol.
I haven't seen X factor for a long time - it is live at the studios now I believe. Might have a nosey on You Tube. I know Toni mentioned the girl who diddicat likes, lol.
Hope you didn't get wet, on your travels.

Elizabeth the Clown thing is just totally ridiculous, talk about lemmings. I never liked clowns anyway, but people deliberately dressing up, threatening people, they want locking up.
How horrid to get a text like that, frightening what people will do.
Sounds like a glazing man needs to come sort out the windows. The fire was too close, eeek
Hope the parcels arrived, we are waiting for some, but we stick a note on the back door for them to be left in the garden storage box. Nothing today :)

Kath, that's so nice, inviting people who are alone, to come together and have Christmas Dinner. I know Castle Donnington reasonably well, living in Gotham for many years, not far away really.
You will have to hold me up if we are going on roller blades, I wobble on my legs as it is, never mind if I am on wheels. :D:D

Mum n Dad IL took us out for brunch at the garden centre, which was v nice. Mum is not so good, getting more pain and needing stronger pain relief. She is not eating much either, two thirds of a scone and that was all. Bless her. We have family in abundance coming tomorrow and Sat, so 11 of us out for lunch on Saturday :o  We are holding our breath, I think it will be too much for her...........but we will see. Her Brother and Sister and S IL are all stopping with them, so that is stressful in its own right...........wish us luck, I have an uneasy feeling.

Hi to everyone else, hope you are ok Toni, ((((((((()))))))) and purs to diddicat.

Right, I had better move. I am set like stone. Everyone take lots of care. XXXX Aidan

Je suis trop chaud aussi bein Aidan :)

I have been super-busy today. Had to get new collars and tags for Diddicat....who was NAKED yesterday  shocking!!

She looks sweet now though :)

What isn't sweet is the half a carcass outside the back door.....Paul!!!

I don't like the sound of how Mum is doing :? it's good people are visiting, but they ought to spread themselves out so she gets rest. Sending you and (poorly) OH some of my strength ((()))

Watch some Honey G on youtube to have some light relief and above all - do NOT catch OH's cold!!!

Nice one KathT :) I hope you are still doing ok?

Elizabeth I am very glad to hear Lu is doing well and getting some help before any problems happen. Bless her the last thing she needs is to see a stupid clown chain letter :x

Oh gosh your windows do need sorting don't they?

I am so sorry you have had to have words about respite I know how much each of your children means to you. I hope it won't put you or Dan off using it again because you need it ((()))

We are loving the missing :)

Barbara did you get rain? We had a glorious day today. Went to the shed last night and met a couple we hadn't met before and I saw the husband on my walk this morning :)

I hope you can squeeze a visit with you niece in soon.

I liked my rusks dunked in hot milk...mmmmm...

Mig you have a lovely lovely time at the studios I ought to take Paul for his birthday he loves that programme :)

Joan how dare they say dachs are grumpy doggies!! It's the owners fault not the dogs. You are right Daisycat loves it here like me.

Yes Christine the rusks are the ones our kids had.

I never though that the meeces might gang up on my pusskin  Maybe the mowbot will help her.

I am so so sorry for your sil my heart goes out to him. Sending strength to the family ((())))

The poem was lovely tahnk you really lovely :)

Carol The staffie rescue here is in a secret location because of those who want to fight them and all homes are thoroughly vetted, but there are still evil people out there :(

I hope Mr Turbo behaves a while longer for you :)

    love to you all

Joan, it doesn't sound as if your doggies are bad tempered if they love cuddles.

Mig, enjoy your trip to York and Leeds and the studio tour.

Barbara, I've only watched bits of X-Factor but I remember the boy saying he'd poisoned the other. Didn't he say he should have thanked him anyway? I'm not a biscuit person but I might have to look for rusks too.

Elizabeth, that doesn't sound good if you have to complain about the respite. Hope you get it sorted. I've seen a text message from the clowns posted on FB. A mother not far from here said her young son had given them details of his school. Hopefully it will be all over within the next couple of weeks. I need some new windows too. Can hardly see out of the kitchen window because it steams up inside the double glazing when it's warm. I will get round to phoning for a quote one day. Hope your parcel arrived.

Kath, a couple more good ideas for us. It's a great idea to have a Xmas dinner for people who are alone at Xmas. I've sometimes thought about volunteering but at the moment I enjoy being with my grandkids.

Aiden, the rusks are suitable for over 3-4 months. Yes, I'm definitely older than that. Sorry mum isn't feeling too good. Hope she manages lunch on Saturday but not if it makes her worse. It will be stressful having people stay. She'll feel she has to look after them.

Toni, I do hope Diddycat is properly dressed now. Good to hear you have made a couple more friends. You'll soon be feeling that you've been there forever. Isn't it terrible they need to have the staffie rescue in a secret place? I don't understand why anyone would want to watch dogs fighting.

My dil wanted to take the little one to see Frozen on Ice. My son has bought tickets for Saturday afternoon so I'm going along too. Think I'd better practice the songs and get a Frozen dress sorted out.

Diddicat is now fully dressed although I have had to adjust the length of the collar because she was doing 'Mrs Fat-Neck' I bet Aidan knows that trick!

Funnily enough we were talking about Christmas in the shed I have worked many Christmases two volunteering with people who had disabilities who would have been alone at Christmas. They were among the best I ever had :)

Of course the very best are with your own little ones and in the future like you Grandkids :)

We had 3 windows de-misted before we left our old house and they were about £100 each I think. I am worried that Elizabeth's will be a bit more :?

Still thinking of your sil and family ((()))

Well it was proper misty out there first thing and poor bot was mowing up dew.

Lucy is having her nails done today and tonight is takeaway night :)

Hi Christine, Joan, Barbara, Elizabeth, Aiden, Toni

Christine yes things are still ok at the present time with Mr turbo. Staffies are like Marmite you either love them or hate them I love ours even although he is naughty sometimes like this morning when he woke us up with his whining because he wanted to go out then when mr turbo took him out and because there was a fox outside the back door of the block he started barking this was at 5.30am mind noisy little so and so.

Hi Joanyes iv'e heard dachshunds are bad tempered trouble is when people don't know much about the breed they tend to believe everything they read and like us animals don't come as per text book do they? hope you too have a good day i'm meeting up with a friend today for some coffee and chat.

Barbara yes not a bad busy at all. mmm yeah it did tell him but it dose not always click into their brains.

Elizabeth yes your sure right there.

Aidan yeah I do on occasions have to do a reminder I often don't say anything and just go quite but you can only take so much then you flip   love the bit about taking the fuse out of the laptop plug if only I had the chance to get to it he is always on it.

Toni its ridiculous isn't it that they have to be secret we got our boy from the famous Battersea dogs and cats home in Battersea London just a tad over 11 years ago when he was a year old and you are vetted very carefully there before the will let you have any breed cat or dog.

take care everyone have a great day may be back in later for a cuppa and a nice cake if the café still have some hidden away nice calorie free one
    Stay positive always👍xx

Christine, happy to have given you an idea. :D

Didn't know you were French Toni. Obviously Diddycat was feeling a bit warm too NAKED. I'll look away now.

Aidan, rusks. I used to love them. But now they're s bit too sweet for me.

Carol, glad the cakes went down well. I thought we'd try some mug cakes. Lots of chocolate. Tell me what you think.
