Morning everyone
Joan the Yorkie is my friends' she is only 3 and was bought when their old yorkie died in the middle of my friend's breast cancer treatment. The old one had damaged her back and was paralysed afterwards, but they still loved her and carried her everywhere even though she was incontinent bowels and bladder. They couldn't believe it when then new one jumped and twisted her back due to fireworks and did the same thing. Luckily she has had surgery and is starting to get her feeling back. They got her home yesterday and she is in a tiny cage to minimise movement while she heals, BUT she wee'd outside last night so that is good news
Wow the CT appointment came through quickly! Good then they'll know exactly what they're dealing with.
Aidango you getting your money back!!! Skin flint he is!! Wonder where that expression came from?? :?
It is rather dark in here....
how about
these candles? Obviously we can light some of our pumpkins too
is this mig's spell book?
I'm sure somewhere in there will be a dry day spell for the 7th.
Paul's vehicles are always pristine too I don't know how he can be married to me!!!
Yes the kids were monitored throughout transfusions - one girls had a platelet reaction as I remember. Scary!
When my Mum was having emergency heart surgery they squeezed platelets in....to reverse the warfarin???
Barbara needs your OH to fix her computer!!
Oh it's warm right enough......phew!!!! :too-hot:
Barbara I think it was one of Dreamdaisy's walkers which broke, but her husband fixed it still wonky so she had to have another one
I haven't braved the migraine tables yet....we are at a wedding renewal this weekend and will have o have a drink so will start after that. Pagan's parents? Remember her? One of Lucy's chemo-crew.
So sad about OH BIL's bro. 60 is a bit young though :?
I have made you a caramel macchiato with an extra shot to get you back on track
mig - I hope Bletchley park is interesting and not raining like here
Kath Lucy had 2nd stair rail (not needed here being a bungalow) also has loo frame shower seat and bed raiser. That means you must be 18!!! So there!!!
To be honest it helps me too and is a good thing
The eye test sounds a good idea you know - what might it find? and I hope it doesn't!
Right onwards and upwards for me!
Love to you all

Morning all............ A damp and misty day here, season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.
Yes, thank you Toni, I can see a little better with the candles, although they seem to have eyes and they are looking at me :? It is getting more and more creepy.
Bless the little Yorkie, home she mends fully. They are so tiny and injuries are often difficult to treat.
That spell book will be fine I am sure. As long as there is an anti grumpy spell, then we are well away.
Bloods and platelets, they would push them in during emergency surgery, especially to counteract the warfarin, although they can use vitamin K, but that takes time and time is not always on the right side of treatments.
Skin flint - I found this An unreasonably thrifty person. (Flint is a semiprecious mineral a relative of quartz, and the notion that the greediest person would keep flint shavings for economy)
It was funny how this wad of cash suddenly appeared, mind, that's how they keep it. Bubbles was not having any of it. Not in the mood after walking a bit too far, my knees and back were screaming so I would have kicked off.
Yes, OH can sort out Barbaras computer. Next door OH rang last night and popped round with his laptop, for us to sort, which we did It is like open house here, 24 7 care to mind body and soul, plus pc repairs, lol.
Expecting Mum n Dad soon so I will go fill the coffee machine and fuss in the kitchen.
A tout a l'heure

Afternoon all raining here but I think my palm needs the drink
Toni I love the candles think its time we had the Halloween smiles on the forum instead of the sun..think you are right it was DD ..my brain only goes back so far..Im afraid my oh isn't into cleaning cars..nor will he go through the car wash..so its mostly left to the rain... thanks for the CM much appropriated..
Aiden good for you getting your money back..not good for business when they treat you like that..nice to hear mum and dad are popping in..right a speel for good weather when you pick up your new car..we want it all gleaming like ours used to be.. tell OH I am on my way with this comp..if I do enough muttering might just get a new one for Christmas..
Joan did you say you have had your MRI or waiting for one..wonder if your op will be before Christmas..sooner the better..
My son and Niamh are on there way....so I have my feet up in readiness..think I might just give her a duster she likes cleaning...oops shes here....
thankyou everyone for your kind words...its is so young..
Love to everyone xxxxxLove

Hi all
to all those who have shown concern about me after my fall I am sorry not to have go back to u but have been mega busy since and have hardly had any time to reply I have just popped on for a quick look and then i'm off out again until very late I'm not too bad but will update you all tomorrow when things slow down a bit and I have time to answer properly.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Aidan, I would have loved chatting to your lovely dad. xx
Only 18, Toni , if only I was half as brave as Lucy. I feel all weak and wobbly most of the time.
OH couldn't be bothered cooking today. he went to the chippy for fish and chips. He got two mini fish with chips. They were enormous. haven't had chippy fish and chips for ages'."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Joan, hoping to see my boss on Monday to ask him for my wages. Good idea for Aiden to keep going to visit his car. They would indeed get fed up. When is your ct scan? Do you have long to wait?
Toni, my GS is 12. I didn't see him or any of his friends with helmets. An idea for a Xmas present. My sister spent a lot of time with her daughter in hospital and she learned such a lot too. Our local train station doesn't have a ticket machine so everyone who's only going a couple of stops buys on the train. Glad to hear the yorkie is home. She won't be happy being caged for a while but it's for her own good. She'll heal quicker. Love the candles. They'll do nicely. Hope you enjoyed the wedding renewal. I remember you mentioning Pagan.
Kath, having those things doesn't make you old. I'm sure plenty of young people have them. You need them for now. Anything that helps I say. I've worked with two JWs and both used to go out and get very drunk. One would go to a friend's for Xmas dinner and even accept gifts and cards but say, as she didn't celebrate, she couldn't give them.
Mig, hope you enjoyed your trip to Bletchley Park.
Barbara, it will be at least Monday before I get my wages. Sorry to hear about OH's bil's brother. Did you know him well? 60 is still very young to die these days. Halloween smilies would be good now. Only a couple days to go. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a new computer for Xmas. Hope Niamh has done all the dusting for you.
Aiden, we need warmish, a bit sunny and definitely no rain for when you pick your car up. I think you do sometimes need to push to get your money back. There are times I've gone in ready for an argument and they've immediately given me the money. I do feel disappointed. My bank told me cheques take 5 working days to clear. I don't understand why. If they can do it immediately in France, why can't they do it here. I think it's great for different religions to chat together and accept their differences. Candles with eyes? Eeek! Spooky.
Carol, you do sound very busy. As long as you're ok.
Kath, those fish and chips do look yummy. Hope they were. Some places do have big fish and so they should for the price of them. It used to be a chap meal. I haven't had any for a few years now being wheat free.
I went down to the High Street today to take a suitcase full of clothes to the charity shop. I put on a jumper and a thick jacket thinking it would be cold. Nearly melted before I got there. Found a hoopla game which should keep my GC busy for a while when they come. I went in to a couple of shops which were so packed, I walked straight back out again.Christine0 -
Hello Toni Aidan Barbara Carol Kathleen Christine and any one else I missed.
Toni thank you for telling me It sounds like he is doing well. good your friend and her yorkie's have been through a lot they will help one another. yes I remember Pagan.
Aidan how are your Mum and Dad doing. I hope you all have a lovely time. I have you been to see your car.
Barbara i'm waiting for a c t scan its booked for the 21 nov. I hope you have a good day.
Carol as long as your alright you take care.
Kathleen its nice to have what you fancy I bet you enjoyed them.
Christine my ct scan is the 21 nov not long. I hope you have a good day.
take care all

Christine, all I can say that it's a bit mean of those 2 JWs to accept gifts and cards, but not give them in return. :? As for getting very drunk, alcohol is allowed in small amounts. I don't drink myself, but it's a matter of conscience.
Joan, I really enjoyed my fish and chips, but there were rather a lot."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon all very very mild here..but no sun
Kath the pic got us fancying fish and chips ..we used to get them regular on Fridays but now a days it probably once every couple of months and between us now, cant eat a full potion ..eating them on our way home from the pubs years ago in paper with loads of vinegar....
Joan we will be in your pocket on the 21st...shall we all go for something to eat after maybe to Aidens garden center..
Christine it has been the same here so mild..but not much sun..I do love the charity shops ..not sure if you have ever been to Lythem st Annes ..but they have one and upstairs there are all designer clothes..some of the price defeat the object though.. :roll:we get books and toys for the little one just to keep her occupied .. and thankyou we did know him well..he had a few problems with depression and was always on his own..such a shame...hope those wages are there tomorrow or we will all come round there...
Carol busy is good it can take your mind off things..dont worry about not posting ...just let us know how you are..
I hope that Tonis meds are working on those migraines..
Think I need Carols help..OH is fast asleep here...suppose he deserves it after after all the years of working..but I cant hear the tv for the snoring...shall I go and pinch his nose..
Love to everyone xxxxxxLove

Hi Joan
21st November is nice and soon so all being well you could have your operation in the new year.
Barbara you could pinch his nose, but you have to be able o get back in your seat pretty quick so he doesn't know it was you
Bless him depression is nasty insidious thing
I haven't braved the meds yet going to have the first one at tea-time because I had a glass of wine last night and they don't mix well when you first start with them.
Kath did you say fish and chips??
Paul's Sis in law is a JW, but she is ok with us giving the kids and the kids are allowed to send Christmas cards. She just doesn't herself. His brother isn't so maybe that's why.
See? You are only 18 like Lucy if you have the same stuff
Christine yes helmet for Christmas ask the staff which is the most cool one else he won't wear it.
The wedding went well and the evening do too. There were a few Mums whose kids had died so we all chatted and bawled and laughed too.
Tomorrow morning - straight to the boss for your wages and they'd better be there else Diddicat will muster up the crew...Pepe and the girls and they will go sort him out!!
In France a cheque is like almost more valuable than cash. The bank HAS to honour it too. Here they can bounce
It is too warm yet for jumpers and coats I agree, but soon it won't be :? Well done getting a 'new' game for the GKs
Carol no rush to reply so long as you are ok we are all happy
Aidan the candles only seem to light an eerie glow.....
Wee yorkie was more comfortable overnight. She has to be caged as unlike us she would move and undo the work of the vet. Their bones must be tiny!
Aha that makes sense the definition of skin flint!
Oh it IS a shame OH isn't near enough to sort Barbara's lappy
I hope all was well with Mum and Dad ((()))
Well best get on ironing to do :roll:0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone is as ok as possible. I was going to write a ditty or two, but, I seem to have run out of steam at the moment.
Has been a busy day, hair cuts, ( I am still a junior stylist after 17 years). We did look like the Beverley Hillbillies. much smarter now.
Washing - done
Ironing - done
Showers - done
Shave - done
Me - Done.
I will write more later, when I have recuperated a little.
Extra hugs to everyone and even more to Grace, after her sad loss.
XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I know Aidan dreadful - she's been through far too much this year as it is
You have had a super busy day it seems.
Glad your ears are suitably lowered and eyesight is restored
Rest up now and I hope you saw Carry on Matron on ITV3 this afternoon0 -
Joan, hopefully the time till your scan will pass quickly. I'll be in your pocket if you want. Hope you've had some warm weather. It's been quite pleasant here.
Kath, I thought it was mean too. I wasn't sure about the alcohol but it did seem a bit odd as they both had to be carried home by friends.
Barbara, I remember walking home from Brownies with friends and we always called in for chips with lots of vinegar and salt. I did once a long time ago pass through Lytham St Annes but I haven't actually been there. We have a charity shop here and the prices are very high and another which only sells vintage clothes, bric a brac and a few bits of furniture. I can hear the snoring from here.
Toni, glad you enjoyed the wedding. It will do all of you good to both laugh and cry. It's amazing isn't it how such tiny bones can be operated on and fixed. And thank goodness they can do it. Did you get your ironing done?
Aiden, you have been a busy bee. Hope you have had some rest. Just post when you feel up to it.
Another day of pottering and catching up with tv. Have spent quite a bit of time trying to find a present for my youngest GD. My son said he'll take me out at the weekend with her to find something. Thanks for offering to come and sort my boss out. I'll let yoou know tomorrow if you're needed. :swim-shark: Is anyone watching Humans? I watched a programme yesterday which showed one of the actresses, who plays a robot, having a robot of herself made. It was very lifelike. They said they will have human-like robots in 20-30 years which have intelligence. I think that's a bit scary.Christine0 -
Well, it is late in the evening now - a little more rested, so thought I would write.
We do need some Halloween smilies on the forum - summer is a thing of the past (hoorah). Even though it is still warm ish. Glad your palms had some rain Barbara. I am sure if you make lots of gentle grumbles about the computer, there may be one appear in time for Christmas. I am checking the weather for the 7th and it looks chilly, but dry, so that's fine by me. We are not having ours cleaned before we take it back, it is well looked after and has been for three years. It is not long since it had a full valet.
Hope you had a nice visit and the dusting was done by Niamh. Bless
As long as you are as ok as possible Carol, sounds like you are super busy, take some time out when you can.
I am sure Dad would have loved to chat too Kath. The fish and chips look enormous, but, I would have to try and eat them - I would be happy with the mushy peas, I love them, but, they do cause, shall we say, "problems".
We have not had fish and chips from the chippy, since mum passed away, she loved it when we went over and took fish and chips with us. We pass the chip shop often, but I cannot even look in.
I hope you get your wages sorted today Christine. We will have to get the bus out and come see your boss. Or, we could give them some of Mig's potion to drink, not long now till the gathering, lol
You are right, fish and chips are often the most expensive things on say a gastro pub menu, it always used to be a cheap ish meal, chips and scraps were lovely.
I am sure the charity shop will appreciate your giving, even if you nearly melted on the way. It is supposed to get cooler this week, with winds from Iceland, if you believe the Daily Mail, lol
I am sure the hoopla game will be made good use of when your GS visits.
The shops are starting to get a little crazy, with ONLY 8 weeks to go. I would walk out too, I don't do well in crowds of people, kind of freaks me out a bit.
Joan, mum and dad are doing ok. We have another family gathering this week end, mum has insisted we organise it, at the same pub, for 10 of us. M/y BIL was a bit upset as they didn't get to spend any time with mum really, as it was all a flying visit. So they are all coming back up this week end, from London. It is a fair treck. They will stay with my other BIL, who lives about an hour away. Mum was adamant that everyone be there, even if they had plans, they had to be cancelled. Way to go Mum, you lay the law down.
We will be on pocket duties for the 21st, for your CT scan. Any other dates, just let us know.
Of course you can all meet up at the garden center Barbara, the more the merrier. The more scones, the better.
I love Lytham Barbara, every time we went to Blackpool I used to say, shall we go to Lytham, where it is a big step up from kiss me quick and stick on bottoms. Much more refined.
Pinch his nose, or get a long stick and then poke him in the ribs from the door, then hide..........
Toni I hope your meds were ok, I don't know the side effects, sometimes best not to read them, they all say the same thing more or less, to cover every possible eventuality.
Glad the wedding went well, with all ranges of emotion, it it very draining, but enjoyable, all at the same time, if you get my meaning. Good, I am glad, I am not so sure, lol :?
Cheques are like gold in France, indeed they do have to honour them. Here they bounce all over and not many places take personal cheques, only bank and BS ones.
The candles do shine an eerie glow, just what we need for the spells to work.
Glad wee little yorkie was more comfortable, tiny bones for sure. Bless and bless some more.
No, I missed Carry on Matron, of course I have seen it umpteen times, but any excuse to see it again, is a plus. Great movie.
Hope you manage to find a present for your GS. Let us know if we need the bus to accost your boss, for money.
I have seen the trailers for Humans, but haven't watched it. Tennis is on, Andy Murray won the ATP Vienna 500 and if he wins Paris, this week, he will be world number one, yippee.
I think computers are already deciding what they will and won't do, they seem to have a mind of their own most of the time. AI will take over, so many roles, maybe not in my lifetime, but, the way technology moves on, you never now.
Right, Hi to everyone, Mig Elizabeth, and all. I had better move, I am chair shaped.
Lots of love, Everyone take care. XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Bloomin updates...mutter mutter....had to sign in again....mutter mutter...how am I supposed to remember passwords?
Oh Morning everyone
It's really foggy here so much for the lighter mornings eh?
Christine charity shops are a bit pricey these days I agree can be off-putting. We have a huge one though near here which has everything and is cheap. The rest - over-priced!
Now you come to mention it I heard the snoring too, but I thought it was the farmer in the field
Thank you I did indeed get my ironing done, but made some more too
I can't watch humans I am so scared I heard Professor Hawking and he said they could be dangerous
I hope your son helps you get something for youngest GD
Aidan it is foggy here ideal for Halloween. The candle are eerie, but just enough to see. Did I tell you I've dug out the cloak of invisibility? I thought we can use it now obviously, but also for pocket duties if anyone gets claustrophobic.
I very much hope its dry for 7th. Not too long now Aidan, tomorrow is November!
Mushy peas do that to you do they? hahaha!! such a shame nothing like mushy peas YUM!
I started the new meds with one tablet (I can go up to 6 a day) yesterday and today and whacked so it will have to be a gradual increase I think.
It's good to hear Mum is laying down the law so she must be feeling pretty good to manage it. GO her.
We are very happy in this house about Andy Murray, my sister used to live in Dunblane and my nephew was born there - well the hospital was in Stirling, but you know what I mean!!!
Love to everyone

Hello anyone who is there.
I had to go to see the doctor this morning about a blood test she said I have too much calcium in my throat so I have to book next week for a scan.
has anyone had this.

joan xx0 -
Afternoon to one and all, after a misty start, it has turned out quite a warm day -
I have saved some mist, to pop in the cauldron, for the potion. With it being from Pendle Hill, it will be well charged with magic.
Updates, oh yes, windows 10 has been doing some major ones Toni, the anniversary update that took for EVER, then more and a few more for good luck.
I had forgotten the cloak of invisibility, it will be perfect for pocket duties, after halloween. It had been getting a bit crumby with the scones flying all over. As long as there is room for two and several crutches, we will be fine
A week today, for the car, all excited. I keep checking the weather and so far, touch wood, it is dry and clear.
Mushy peas are really the best, with sweet mint jelly they are wonderful, but, I have to restrain myself, or I would go into orbit. :?
We have quite a lot of charity shops here and in Skipton there are loads. The YMCA shop is really good sometimes, we have had some real bargains over the years.
Take it steady with the new pills, if they are knocking you sideways - take care, all these pills and potions we take, in seemingly every increasing amounts, do send our minds and bodies askew at times, no wonder when you start adding up all the possible effects.
Mum seems to be ok at the moment, after quite a dip over the past weeks, she is on a front foot again. We went out for coffee and scones this morning. Meal is all arranged for the week end, everyone has had their orders from OH, lol.
Keeping a close eye on the BNP tournament from Paris, let's hope Andy makes it to number one
Hugs to diddicat and chirrups from Pepe and the girls.
Hi Sharon, no, I didn't notice any interruptions to the forum, so it must have gone ahead and no one flinched. Even I was not up at 0430. lol
Oh, can we have some Halloween emoticons? Pretty please.
Oh, dead pidgeon Joan, not nice. Doggies would soon sniff it out though.
That's a good idea to put the paper over Barbara's OH, watch it wafting in the breeze.
Too much calcium, is that calcium deposits? I am assuming so if they need to check up with a scan. Let's hope they can sort it asap.
You take care, hi to Sue and pats for the lovely doggies. Hope the weather is not too cold for you.
The trees are really showing their colours now Barbara, lovely they are too. I was fortunate to go to the states and be in upstate New York, just when the leaves were starting to turn, it was stunning, all the maple trees, just amazing.
We have the waterless wash and wax system too, it is so much easier and takes no time really. They sell one on Ideal World, which is v good, same principle, just not as expensive as the well known brand.
Hope you manage to get out this afternoon. We will all be listening for the snoring. (have a look on Ideal World, for the "snore wizzard", apparently it is a God send).
I was awake from 0500, the cats were messing about, digging their litter, then cookie had a hair ball, then pepe wanted feeding - the hour change backwards always sends them batty, well, more batty than normal. Every time I started dozing back to sleep, they were off again...........kids eh.
Christine, I hope you have your wages now. If not, Toni and I will be under the cloak and we will sneak in and get it for you.
Mig, hope everything is ready for tonight.
Hi Elizabeth and hi Carol and anyone else that I have missed.
Everyone take care on this all hallows eve. XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Of coarse the cats were messing about they're getting nervous about tonight when black ones rule supreme.0

Thankyou Sharon..hopefully we will have some lovely sunny Autumn days..
Joan I have googled it for you and has for throat making to much calcium..it seem to come form your thyroid..blimey its a new one on me ...it says they will do regular bloods to keep an eye on it and maybe tell you to lower the calcium rich foods..I know you take OP meds wonder if that is something to do with it.. :? it does say when under control you can feel much better ie bone pain tiredness...
Aiden think I remember the charity shops in Skipton...think we have the same car wash off Idel wo**d..it is good..and doesn't scratch the car..my OH didn't believe it wouldn't..glad that mum is a little better..hopefully she will be all rested before the weekend..I have seen the fall has they call it in America..not in person but on the TV like you say stunning..
Didnt get out this afternoon but never mind will do tomorrow..and have tidied some drawers while sitting down..were does it all come from
Love to everyone xxxxxxx
Just spotted you there Mig...ooooh yes forgot about tonight..how could I...Love

I haven't Joan, but my friends BIL has something called a parathyroid problem which gives him too much calcium. I don't think it causes him too much trouble, but I know he has sore bones so??? Never found out any more though.
I think I would ask your GP o explain when you can. Safety first we have to be as healthy as possible before surgery.
Yes that anniversary update Aidan!! Honestly!! Stupidly long, but done now.
The cloak of invisibility is pretty crumby yes, but the instructions say NO dry cleaning so we'll have to air it, but make sure we know exactly where!!! It's easily lost. Ideal for pocket duties for Joan
I am allowed up to 2 tabs 3 times daily I have managed only 1 a day so far!!! I have taken 'today's' a little earlier so I 'come too' sooner tomorrow
You are right we do take so many meds don't we?
Great news that Mum is on the Up ATM - long may it last - here's to the best Christmas EVER!!
Of course we are keeping an eye on the tennis always - we are that generation

Love to Carol Kath Elizabeth...Christine???0 -
here we are again have had trouble with laptop the last couple of days it kept going off in the middle of you typing something.
well update on me after my fall last Wednesday i'm okay just a bit bruised and battered I have a very large colourful bruise and grazes on my shin which is a bit sore, and a few random small bruises and grazes in other places I also hurt my ring finger on my right hand which I think I may have broken but being a ex st john ambulance first aider with 37 years service, I was not going to sit up the hospital to be told some i'd already guessed only to have it treated the same way as I already had and that was to strap it to the middle finger. and to be honest it is feeling quite comfortable now strapped. so I will treat it the same for the next 2- 3 weeks and see how it goes. On the walker situation I will look into repairing or buying a new 4 wheel one. as I think they are better but in the meantime mr Turbo has helped me to pay for a cheaper 3 wheeled one which I can use as a spare when I sort the other one out.
have been very busy on Friday mr turbo and I visit his sister who is in her 80s who about 7 weeks ago broke her knee cap and at present has a brace on it that reaches from just above her ankle to her thigh. and on Saturday my cousins son got married and we were at the reception in the evening. so by Sunday I was stiff and in a bit of pain, and felt absolutely shattered as we, do not have a car so all this was done by using public transport in fact I spent most of the day keep nodding off
thank you all for your concern you are a great bunchStay positive always👍xx0
