Aiden, I do like the idea of giving my boss some of Mig's potion. He wasn't there again today so I told his wife. She had enough money so she paid me. She also said that my boss had told her he had left my wages for me when they went on holiday so I hope he remembers that he didn't. I used to love shopping in the few weeks before Xmas. Loved the atmosphere but it's now just a big crowd of people pushing and shoving trying to buy everything in sight. Good for your mum telling everyone to be there. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Toni, I don't know how we are supposed to remember all our passwords. And we are told we should change them often. If I did, I would never get signed in to anything. Humans is a bit scary when you think it won't be too long before it is a reality. Sounds as if you'll have to go very slowly with your meds. Great idea for people to use the invisibility cloak if they are claustrophobic.

Sharon, I didn't notice anything so the update must have gone very smoothly.

Joan, dogs are very good at rooting out things like dead pigeons. Hope Pepper didn't offer you it as a present. My boss's wife gave me my money as my boss wasn't there again. Too much calcium in your throat? I've not heard of that. Hope it turns out ok.

Barbara, I noticed today that there are some very beautiful colours in the trees at the moment. Seem better than previous years. Got my money off my boss's wife. Just hoping my boss remembers he hadn't left it for me. There are so many things you can buy for little ones but when they get older, it has to be just the right thing.

Carol, glad you're ok although quite bruised and battered. Hopefully, that'll clear up quickly. You know what you're doing with your finger. It must be very difficult for Mr T's sister with the brace on. Will she need it on for quite a while? No wonder you were shattered. Hope you enjoyed the wedding but are now resting.

Seems a lot going on again today. A friend told me their little cat, only 11 months old, had wandered out on to the main road on Saturday and got run over. He was very sweet. The kids haven't stopped crying since. It's my dad's 80th birthday today but he has spent the whole day sitting by his lady friend's bed. Sadly, she passed away at teatime. My dad felt she was his only friend in the care home. He was very friendly with one of the men so hopefully, he will spend more time with him now.

On a brighter note, have people had many trick-or-treaters? I got dressed in black and put an ugly mask on and waited. Eventually, a group of about 5 young people about 12ish knocked on the door. A few minutes later, my son said my GS was around my area. I thought he might have been one of the kids at my door but I couldn't see through the mask. Turns out he was at a party anyway. About 9pm, there was a banging at the door. I decided to ignore it but they kept banging so I went to the door. it was my son. He'd come to pick the kids up.

Oh Diddicat looks very "en vogue" for the evening, thank you for the mascara and large brushes. Mind, it all went T- oooops, pear shaped, with the potion and we are all lucky not to have gone up in a trail of slime. I have just finished shampooing the pus cats, who are not happy.................

Can we steam the cloak of invisibility? Mmm, difficult as you say, as you cannot see it :lol: it might need freshening up as you say, those crumbs going stale etc.

Yes, Mum seems to be pushing onwards, boy is she one determined lady, all credit to her. I am sure the week end will be fine and we are playing Christmas by ear. We are doing Christmas dinner, I say we, Mark's are doing all the work really, we just prepare it and serve it. No way am I peeling sprouts, there are other things more exciting in life. I don't do peeling veg and I don't grate cheese.

Good idea with the new pills, give ones mind time to come into the new day. It takes me a good hour before I am awake enough and pain free enough, to function. 15 pills for breakfast and I am away.

Tennis is on at the moment, we recorded it and we are catching up whilst I potter and write and fuss.

Hugs to all and chirrups to Diddicat from our three.

I am sure you are bruised Carol, things start to hurt that you didn't know could hurt and bruises appear as if by magic. Lots of arnica gel will help with the bruising. You are right about the finger, all they would say would be "put a neighbour bandage on it", after waiting umpteen hours. You are at an advantage, knowing loads about first aid.
I am glad you have a temp wheelie walker until you decide on a full replacement. Take it steady. We all worry about each other, that's our job :)
Poor Sis, breaking her knee cap, bless her. The cast seems super large, mind, the least movement the better for a while. Then the wedding, no wonder you were tired out. I would have been fit to be tied and all done by public transport, you are braver than I.

Oh no Christine, don't mention the potion, everything blew up and the whole area was covered in slime, with someone wedged in a tree and nasty creatures of the night appeared and I had to get them with the smiley gun.
Good that you have your wages and not before time.
Christmas shopping is a nightmare, we don't really shop for presents, just for mum and dad, then vouchers for everyone else. It just makes life easier, I know there is always the surprise of a present, but, we would rather let people get what they want, than try and guess. The shops go crazy and people buy more food than they can possibly eat, "just in case".
I have all my passwords written down, I lost the paper a while back, oh was I fuming. We found it, thank goodness. I could not change them often, I would need a whole book.

Oh how sad, poor pus cat, bless. One reason why we only have house cats. Even though we are not on a main road, in fact we are on private grounds, so only very small roads, with barely any traffic. But we still could not let them out. The little ones will be upset.
Oh and then your dad being so upset too. I hope he teams up with his other friend and makes more along the way too.
I can imagine you there with your trick or treat mask on, waiting for the kids to knock, lol.
We don't get any around here at all.
Glad you let you Son in, after much banging on the door, lol.

Right, it is well after the witching hour, so I will potter a little.

The ward has extra beds in for those of us who are in shock, from the potion explosions. George, Matron, Hattie and Dr Kildare are all on, I suspect there will be some serious swooning to deal with.

    Take care all. XXXX Aidan

I haven't got any Mettrifen (Fentanyl) patches!!! My last one should have been changed yesterday. The pharmacy LOST my next prescription !!! Because they'd signed for it, dr thought I'd had it and said I'd been changing them too often. That's right, blame the patient!! I don't care about the whys and wherefores. Just get me another prescripion PRONTO!!! I'm in pain here.

Looking forward to seeing the new emoticons webmaster Sharon. :D

Hope all kept safe last night, especially the puss cats and doggys.

Oh Dear Joan, I hope the hoist has been repaired and or replaced, going bang is not a good thing, we had enough with Mig's potion last night to frighten us all out of our slippers.
I will take care, OH often says, you are doing too much, trying to rush, when you don't need to at all.
Hi to Sue and many pats for the doggies. Hope you managed to get out and about, today has been the most beautiful day, after thick fog last night.

Elizabeth, no, that has happened to me, vanishing posts. Don't worry, as long as we know you are as ok as can be and are around. Sometimes I right click on the text and copy it, every so often, just in case it all vanishes - I have pressed Cancel more than one time, instead of Submit................

I do hope they sort out your Fentanyl Kath, it's much easier to blame the patient. You know your doses and when to change them. With the thousands of repeats that they handle, it is no wonder that some go walkies. For sure, don't go to the far end of the field, just issue another prescription, please and thank you. Grrrrrrr
I hope it is sorted and you are not in too much pain. The half life of Fentanyl can be up to 22 hours, which is good to know and can increase to longer times in someone who is more mature in years.
    Right, enough pharmaceutical ramblings Aidan.

Our Niece rang last minute this morning, so we took her out for lunch. We were going anyway, so she was more than happy to come along. Had a good natter and a lovely meal. (not the garden center this time).
Then when we came back she rang mum n dad and she called in to see them for a little while, as a surprise (we never saw her, lol).

It is such a lovely day, the colours are just fabulous, nice and cool, perfect weather for me - I could stand this all year.

Hi to everyone else, Carol, hope the bruising is easing, Toni, I hpoe you and yours are ok, diddicat too. Mig, I am sure you will have needed a good rest, after the explosion of the potion. The Drs said the ward was quite busy.
Christine, hope all is ok with you, and your good self too Barbara.
anyone missed - ermm. Apologies if I have, my best wishes are always abundant.
Take care one and all, I will go fuss and potter a while. I need to flick a duster menacingly  XX Aidan

oh thank you for the new emoticons - love them. Very fitting.

We have those days regularly Barbara, start one thing, then neighbour pops round - two hours later, you try and start again and never seem to catch up. We don't mind really, we are very good listeners. Many the time when lunch is pushed way into the afternoon.
We did have a lovely meal, with our Niece, it was quite a surprise when she sent a text and said I am over your way, what are you doing. Nan was pleased to see her too.

We have our first frost tonight and quite a keen one at that :winter-storm: With us being out of town, it gets a good deal colder here. Nice and warm inside though. Cats all happy with the heating.

Right, I will check to see if I have won the Euro Millions - well, someone does.......I won't hold my breath.

Have you managed to get the mascara out of the cats Aidan? Diddicat got hers off herself although a fair bit came off during the explosion!

It's very thick ice here too - upset the bot who I think will be going to bed for the winter this weekend. Charged and cleaned :( We'll miss him out there.

Paul was after the heating going on too, like your cats heating yes ,fire not yet Paul

Lovely that your niece popped by and she saw her Nan too :)

I think we ought to air the cloak of invisibility later today after the frost has gone.

If you fancy doing some cleaning I could do with a hand in here after Halloween and of course the annexe did get a lot of use....

Barbara I have days like that where interruptions keep me off the board.

This morning I have woken up feeling awake so tomorrow I will have to add a second tablet I suppose. Got to get up to 6!

Doesn't matter if your post is short - we all know you're ok :)

Kath! You are joking?! Honestly I hope you've kept the existing patch on? That's what I do with mine butrans(synthetic morphine) if something goes wrong.

As Aidan says they do keep on working...less but a bit.

Daisycat got home safe thank you :)

Oh Elizabeth you poor thing :( I have lost posts too in the past myself by mistake. I just read that Aidan right clicks long posts to save them every now and then just in-case. I hope you are doing ok and the kids too ((()))

Joan I hope Sue was not using the hoist when it went bang? If so that would have shaken her up!!

Lucy is doing ok as Lucy does thank you for asking :)

Christine at least you got some omney annoying he 'thinks' he left you some too :(

I can't watch humans because it's too scary! Worried about it being a reality. They will have rights too you know :( HELP!!

I lost a cat at 9 months got run over - that one was Benjamin Blackthorn-Browne. This house was especially chosen for safety of Diddicat :) I am so sorry for the kids :(

As for your Dad I hope he will be ok bless him and get back with that chap :(

Carol - it's a good job you are ex ambulance so you know what to do! I hope the bruises are fading now and am glad Mr Turbo (grumpy he might be ;) ) helped you get a temporary replacement.

I hope your SIL recovers soon and can have that brace off. Imagine how hard that must be to sleep with

I hope everyone is doing ok. mig especially after that scary explosion!

    Love

Barbara I hate that when you feel shattered but done nothing I wish everyone could understand, often I don't know whether its the RA or the lupus just letting me know its still there.

Now did anyone get the mascara off daisycat or is she still wearing it...Toni do you think you could just do with 4 instead of 6 maybe they will work at that..I hope so...poor bot bet it wondered what was going on...give it a nice bed for winter it has worked hard
Aiden we put the heating on last night..I was waiting to see all the cats faces at the window..but no they must have out there's on..Im so glad your cats dont go out..we have 2 ladys nearby that take cats in..I dont no why with this rd..
Mig..my hairdresser has Lupus..on top of a few other things..she only does a few peoples hair now..tiredness is awful and hard to get use to ..when is your next trip away...think I have mentioned on your thread about the book on Alan Turing..he was a marvel..what a brain...
Joan have they got a new hoist for Sue we dont want her sleeping in the chair..hope you have both had a good day its lovely here but cold..
forgot to say our neighbour she is Indian came in with food for Diwali..her mum and dad send it all round...and she had a sari on..she doesn't normally wear it but it looked amazing..I do like Indian culture :)

    Back again...

I was definitely logged in but had to leave my message half finished and do other things. When I came back I finished the post and then clicked submit but I wasn't logged in! I couldn't face rewriting it straight away.

    So trying to recap...

Yes been on half term Barbara and all was fine and got a few lie-ins.
Went out at the weekend to a party (OH offered to babysit), great fun and lovely to meet up with old friends. There were 4 of us on crutches or bandaged up all comparing our wounds, meds and struggles.

MY complaint to respite is currently 'on hold' but I've decided he's not going back.

Aidan I also was told my car was available 'early' then I had to wait a further 4 days past the collection date, so instead of the 23rd we picked it up on the 27th.
Nothing wrong with an Marks Christmas dinner Aidan. Think I'll join you.

Applerose I saw the witch photo..... and also Barbara's GC's (I think). I did dress up for the party but it was just a ripped up shirt and some grey face paint. We didn't get any trick or treaters on the day but one family turned up on the Saturday!!! Sorry to read your Dad lost his lady friend and on his birthday too. How sad for him.

Kath my pharmacy always get my meds wrong- it is awful when things don't turn up, especially pain killers. Any improvement with the rituximab?

Joan I don't know about the calcium but would be interested to know about it when you find out.

Toni hope all is well with you all. I see you had to get up early this morning. Its got very cold here today and wonder if we might put the heating on for a couple of hours. I am certain the fire has not been swept so I don't want to mention being cold because he will suggest lighting the fire and claim the chimney is fine.

Fish and chips for everybody tonight but not me as I am dieting (just cutting down). I'll be listening to my friends radio show and watching the missing tonight.
    Take care all

Toni, I hope your bot enjoys it's hibernation. I know you will miss him wandering round the garden. Hope taking a second tablet goes well. Slowly does it.

Mig, I once ended up with 3 extra bags of meds. I collected one then got a call to go for another one and the next time I ordered and collected them, they said there was still one from last time to collect. They said they had to give them to me. The following week, I was taken off them but they couldn't give them to anyone else so they went in the bin. Such a waste.

Joan, I hope Sue is ok and wasn't using the hoist when it went bang. it must have been a shock.

Barbara, well done on losing a couple of lbs. I think you've given them to me. :frozen: How lovely of your neighbour to bring food round. I like Indian food too. I watched some of Pride of Britain. Went through a few tissues. Yes, I did dress up last year. I think it was the year before I scared the life out of a couple of kids. maybe that's why not many come round now. Sorry you are feeling tired. Maybe the weather isn't helping.

Kath, sorry to hear you are still in such a lot of pain.

Elizabeth, I find I have to write and post fairly quickly or I get automatically logged out and lose the post. If I feel I have taken too long, I copy the post in case it disappears. I'm glad you got out to the party and had fun.

Carol, glad your finger and shin are improving.

Went to visit my dad today. One of the younger carers told me he was very down. She'd just been in to talk to him and thought he was taking his friend's death very badly. I went in to his room and he seemed fine. We chatted a bit about her, then we talked about other things and even had a few laughs. On my way out, one of the carers who spends time with him said she thought he was coping very well. It'll take him a little while but he'll be fine.

:) Lovely to read your chatty post Elizabeth :)

I am doing ok thank you. I hope he doesn't light the fire unswept you might get a chimney fire!!

No need to tell me what has happened at respite I know you are right to stop it. You know your son best and what is or is not ok for him. I am so sorry though that, that small break has been taken from you as a family (()).

Good that OH enabled you to have a night out with the girls - good to have a laugh isn't it? even if we don't dance the night away anymore :D

    'Happy anniversary' I think :?

Aidan I rather like the new cleaning machine!! The washing is dry
    t6013.gif

and I've aired out the cloak of invisibility ready for Joan's hospital appointment for the CT. That means we can get proper close an hold her hand if it helps :)

That gooey stuff proper stuck to the windows didn't it?

    t6010.gif

Barbara your hair looks lovely - you look 10 years younger :D

Well-done for loosing a couple of pounds to allow you extra cake

I think I will add an extra tablet today so that will be two and see how far I get. If I only get to 4 then that might be enough maybe? Typical me! Not great with tablets. The tablet which I got on best with was gabapentin - got up to 3,600mg with no ill-effects at all. Unfortunately didn't help the pain

The mascara came off ok although Lucy was none too pleased with her diminished supply :?

    She still wears eyeliner though

Enlarge this you'll see it's on one eye! She's left-pawed you see.

Lovely to get foodie treats for Diwali - we were always being fed by the Asian Mums on the young person's ward at the QE :)

mig Both probably RA and Lupus can cause tiredness can't they? I don't order all my meds every time either - why would we? If we don't need it we'd end up with a cupboard full of the PRN stuff.

Glad you are recovered from Halloween night..... :?

Joan It's very good to know Sue is sorted hoist-wise now and can safely be moved. I hope all is well otherwise with you.

Carol 37 years! You certainly di your bit then! Mr Turbo has his uses that's good. I am doing ok today thank you had a rough night awake from 3-5 just got off and Paul's alarm went off at 1/4 to 6!!

Right better get on. Need to pick up our prescriptions before I take any sleepy tablets ;)

just a very quick hello. I am, shall we say, not at my best at the moment. I had some bug last night, so I was up all night trotting along, as you do. I don't cope well with gastric attacks, so last night I was so strung out I cannot explain.
Trying to rest a little in between, but in complete agony with my back. Just want to fall asleep all the time.
Not wanting any food, just drinking water and taking all usual tabs.

Whatever it is, I don't want it any more. Another hour and it will be bed for me, feeling so cold, it's a funny day, raining now.

Leaving hugs for one and all I will go rest. XXX Aidan

Toni, you've got the cloak ready and you've done a good job cleaning the windows. They were such a mess. Hope you get on ok with the second tablet. Hope you manage a better night's sleep tonight.

Joan, I'm glad Sue wasn't hurt by the hoist and she's got a new one now. Thanks for sending your best to my dad. He seems fine at the moment.

Kath, the carrot soup with herbs sounds tasty. I do like rhubarb so can't decide between the meringue and the trifle. Good to hear you've got your patches and the pain has subsided a bit.

Aiden, sorry you are not well. Lots of water and keep wrapped up if you are feeling the cold. Not that you need telling. You know what you're doing. Take care.

My boss gave me my payslip for the missing week and apologised for not leaving my wages. I think he was suitably embarrassed. Hope those who haven't been in are doing ok.

Hi Christine Thank you tablet number 2 went better than expected so I am 1/3 of the way there!! :) Slept like a log!!

I have stored the cloak in the back of the lost property cupboard where your bloomers are too :?

I'm glad you got your payslip and the boss had a red  face!!

Oh poor you Aidan. You're doing all you can drinking and resting I hope OH doesn't catch it too and imagine only phone contact with Mum and Dad ATM too :(

Kath soup for me please and it was going to be the frubarb, BUT then I saw walnut cake!! Yes please :)

I bet the patches have wiped you like they do at first again

I hope you soon catch up with your pain and overtake it.

Joan I am very relieved to hear Sue was not in the hoist!! I was quite worried about her it would have been terrifying.

Love to everyone else - Barbara? Are you ok or did you get Aidan's bug. Is it a computer virus?
