Aiden, it sounds as if you've got every bad weather going. At least we've only had some showers. Poor Miss M. I'm sure you will make it up to her with a good polish when you get the chance. A hill full of champagne? And a family label. Brilliant.

Joan, it sounds as if they are being very thorough with you. Hope all the tests come back ok. It is a worry though.

Toni, the metatarsals are the long bones in your foot between the heel and the toes. Mine are a bit funny. Not sure exactly what's wrong with them. I was told they had dropped down forcing my toes to curl. I'm supposed to wear insoles with a bump in them to push the bones back up but it's more painful with them than without. I wear Sketchers Shape Ups. Without them I can't walk far. Is the RICE helping any?

Barbara, have you been to your GP yet? You've got snow? Brrrrr! Your GD will be comfy with the Sketchers.

Kath, you are having such a hard time just now. Sending lots of hugs. Hope the pain starts to ease soon.

I'm going to go and stand in the naughty corner. I was only going to buy a couple of small boxes of chocolate for Xmas but I got 2 big tins when they were on offer in T*sc* then today they had tins in Ald* and I bought another one. Plus a few more bits and pieces. My son and his wife have booked to take the kids on the Polar Express in 3 weeks. They all have to dress in their pjs and they make it like it is in the film. Sounds great.

Evening to one and all - late again, it always seems to be midnight before we know it.
Joan, I hope things are ok, did he say how high the levels of calcium where? Do you have other symptoms such as loss of appetite? See what all the x rays show and the repeat blood tests. Plenty of fluids and gentle exercise whenever possible. Extra hugs on their way.
We did have a lovely time catching up with family today. Thank you. We will be there on pocket duties, hiding under the cloak.

There was indeed a mini tornado Toni, I saw the damage it had done. Those huge ones that they have in the US must be terrifying. My American friend said her home town was completely wiped out by a twister.
I hope you foot is feeling better. Good that you have some very comfy shoes.
The house is a pharmacy, I am on most things known to man, so I can normally offer some assistance, (not with px drugs), but over the counter things. I will have to stock up on white topped sample bottles.
Miss M did have her new mud flaps fitted, plus they gave her a bath as well, so was very pleased. No charge for fitting, just the cost of the guards. Lovely garage. It was SO cold, snowing and hail and proper :winter-storm: Thank goodness for heated seats. (wait till summer, I will be whacking up the AC).
Circuit training, with pepe,:lol::lol: oh boy is missy telling tales. funny-sleeping-cats-20.jpg
They looked more like these two, chilling out.
Rice for your foot, well, it would act a bit like reflexology I guess, giving your foot a mini massage.

I wasn't really envious about France, it was nice to catch up on how everyone was, she is over for a week, going to see Mary Poppins at the theatre (she loved Mary Poppins as a young girl). Aunt and Uncle are taking her, bless, I make her sound like she is 12, she is older than my good self. I do find myself thinking in French at times. We had a good natter, then went our ways, then all bumped into each other in Mark's, saying hi at the end of every aisle.
Glad you had a good get together at the pub.
I guess you are right, helping others, helps me. Keeps me going really. I have to keep going, no matter how slowly. If I stop, I won't get going again, that's my take on it. I have been like that since my heart attacks. Drives OH mad, but he does protect me and tries to get me to ask for help, instead of knocking myself out.

Now, Barbara, let me see, did you get to the GP? I see you were off in the snow. Keep us posted, at least Toni and I won't have to kidnap you under the cloak.

Sorry you are having a painful time Kath, sending you abundant hugs and positive vibes. I wish there was more we could do, but you are in thoughts and prayers. (((((((()))))))

I see you have bought enough chocolates to start a small shop Christine, that's the way to do it, it would be rude to pass a bargain. No need to go into the naughty corner.
We have a tin of chocolates from my Aunt and Uncle, plus two huge chocolate cakes mmmmmmmmmmmm. I will leave some in the tin. My Aunt bakes for England, but has cut down over the years, at one time we would get about 11 different cakes, when we met up. Even I could not get through that many, no matter how hard I tried. We used to share with the neighbours, who were more than happy.

Hi Mig, hope dinner was a success, I am sure it was. I thought of you when we passed the sprouts today - that sounds all wrong, but you know what I mean. :?

Ok it is silly o clock, time for me to move and potter a little. The bones are shouting.
Off for coffee with Mum n Dad this morning, then BIL and SIL are coming over on Sunday...........never a dull moment. Keeps me on my toes. Huh, the chances of me getting on my toes, is so remote it doesn't exist.
N Night, everyone take care, stay safe and keep warm. XXXX Aidan.

    Morning everyone :)

A chilly and icy one here.

Aidan that picture is a classic!! It is the best ever evidence that Diddicat is fibbing about Pepe's circuit training.

You still think in French sometimes? :) I bet your cuz will love Mary Poppins even if she is supposed to be grown up. Thanks Aunty for the chocolate cake I am having some with my morning coffee (well the 2nd one).

I had a feeling your OH will protect you if needs be, but that helping is in your bones (excuse the pun  ). I reckon where you live sounds a great community. They helped you when your internet was AWOL :)

We are lucky not to have been born to a country which has proper tornados. They must be terrifying  and we don't have droughts and famines and civil wars....the UK is great.

What a great garage! New mud-guards and a bath for Miss M. :)

Enjoy coffee with Mum and Dad I hope they are both doing ok.

Christine - I wonder whether I ought really to 'see someone' about my foot then? I hadn't thought to bother. RICE has been helping and I have been doing range of movement and stretches and taking my arcoxia. I didn't expect anything I'm not already doing.....

Sketchers are great aren't they? I also have hotters when I need to look tidier :)

Oh WOW!! The polar express!! Can I come too? Sounds fabulous :) In my jammies :)

You can come out of the naughty corner now. I suspect you aren't the only one who has been buying those tins....they are everywhere!

Any Elfie or girl Elfie photos/mischief yet??

Did I say that last weekend I saw the 1st house decorated for Christmas? Yep

Mig - I hope Kath took you up on your offer to cook for her. I can come and hoover around for you Kath if it helps? We can also entertain you to try to take your mind off the pain ((()))

Barbara your GD will really feel the benefit of her sketchers. I bought Paul a pair of men's ones that look like lace-ups grey canvas very nice :)

I hope you either got to the doc's or the steroid drops have helped a bit??

and that there's no snow left?

Joan I'm sure you're posting at the same time as me we often are. Sending love to you, Sue and the dogs :)

Love to our missing friends xxx

My usual late evening greetings to one and all. It is mighty chilly out there, frost glistening on the decking and the roof tops.

I loved the picture Toni, see, I said that miss feline slimming world, was telling little white lies :lol:
I am sure they will all enjoy the show - they were having dinner, before the show, overlooking the square, so they could see the Christmas lights being switched on. All sounds v nice, I will have to ring and see how it all went.
Yes, thinking in French, strange. Having little conversations with myself. Bless, it's a shame really.
I know what you mean, helping in my bones lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated, lol.
We do live in a lovely place, we have a chuckle about the neighbours, but we do all look out for one another and we all know that we could call at any time, night or day. We are forever waving to either side or in front. :autumn-sun:
We do tend to take our lovely country for granted, we are indeed, so lucky, to be in a land that is not war torn, blighted by famine and drought........

We have yet to see anywhere decorated for Christmas, well, apart from the shops. We do put some little white lights up, on the handrails of the decking, twinkling away gently. We don't like those manic lights, white is quite enough, less is more.

Did I miss the Polar Express? I will did out my dressing gown....

Hope the Chinese was good Mig, a long time since we have had a Chinese meal.........food for thought..........I am sure the frogs will help. You are right, it is blinking cold. Just been to back door for a ciggy and there was a sneaky wind blowing very cold.

Glad you went to see the Dr Barbara, what did they do at ENT last time? Google is very helpful, but it can be the worst case scenario as well and freaks people out.
I did mention chocolate cake, two of them. We will take them both round to mum and dads today, when OH Brother and wife come over. He will soon demolish it. His wife is on slimming world and is always going on about "sins"
Mum looks forward to going out for coffee and scones, dad just goes with the flow and stays living in past times.
What a shame all those shoes being ruined by a leak in the roof. I know things are covered on insurance, but it makes such a mess too.
Our garden center has a lovely shop, wonderful interiors shop with every kitchen, bed, chair, cushion, tables, chairs the lot. we have to go in and pay for two arm chairs that we ordered a while back........oops, well, we could not resist. They are not cheap, by any means, but comfort is important. They are quite high backed, slightly winged, in super soft leather and fabric. We will have to put covers over the arms, with the cats jumping around, they will soon scratch them.

Hi Joan, yes, the pus cats are all house cats, they would not have a clue if they went outside, let alone freak if it was raining or freezing. Much better to be on a fleece, by the radiators. We will be there for the CT scan and blood checks, just shout and Toni will gather us all up under the magic cloak.

Kath, I hope you are getting a little respite from the pain. It is so distressing and depressing as well, we all understand, unless you have been in that situation, people have no idea. Sending more hugs.

Hi Elizabeth Christine and everyone else. I had better move, his lordship is whining for more food. Everyone take extra care and keep warm. XXXX Aidan

    Morning everyone :)

Joan I thought it was for the foot. Remind us before you go and We'll round up a cloakfull :)

I'm not sure Miss Feline Slimming World will be winning any awards anytime soon with her personal trainer.......

New Chairs eh? How lovely :) We had new suite when we moved here with a higher back and recliners for myself and Paul. His is right by the fire and mine is by the window so I can Church watch.

Very wise to protect them from Pusskins

As Joan says if you help others it should come back to you if you need help. Not that that's why you do it of course. Your community sounds as friendly as here. Mind you it is what you make it too :)

I prefer tasteful lights too. Nothing tacky. Not sure what they do here, but where I used to live some of them went MAD!!! Completely mad and I thought it a bit OTT.

I have bought two 'potted baby spruces' for the front door which have tiny lights. Will try to upload a photo. Will not be lit until after Lucy's birthday though.

Barbara good girl going to the doctors :) We'll be with you for the ENT appointment if you need us.

Good thinking about the ball for my foot!! I have worked out that it's the 2nd toe joint nearest the ball of the foot.

How upsetting about those shoes. Send some over hear I'll be happy to have some slightly water-marked ones :)

Hi mig - I also hope all is well with you?

Kath if you pop by I hope pain is a little easier now.

Elizabeth too you were struggling to stand. I am sure the kids are helping as much as they can.

I think Christine must be busy with Gkids :?

and hopefully Carol hasn't been breaking anymore rollators

    Love

Good morning all have not been on lately as I have not been feeling too great been having a bit more pain than usual lately.

I have also have been doing lots of knitting as I am racing against time to get some little knitted bits for my as yet unborn baby great granddaughter finished for her Christmas present, before mr turbo visits the family in kent early in December with all their presents.

I have also been looking into sorting out the buying of my new 4 wheeled walker and dealing with a claim for compensation, that I have put into the local council with regard to the accident.

Toni and no I have not been breaking any more rollators :lol: to damn expensive to keep replacing if you want the really good ones. :o

hope you are all feeling as well as can be expected.

    Hi Barbara
well hope the new rollator will last and the one I am looking at is an improved model of the one I broke in the fall. of course its more expensive   but i'm saving like crazy any extra money I get coming in is being put towards it and also saving from my dla and pensions towards it. So that I am able to go and see my new great granddaughter early in the new year she is due on the 19th December. by my calculations I will be able to do it it without relying on any compensation from the council. so if I then do get compensation that will be a bonus :) my knitting is not to bad and out of close family I am the only one who knits so its always nan that dose it. xx

    Courage

    tears she cried
    all day long.
    Courage she sighed,
    through nightfall's throng.
    These tortured bones
    and screaming tones
    are monotonous.

    They give me drugs
    she cries.
    "They'll stop your pain."
    They lied.
    But it's of no surprise
to find each day she tries.

    Hi Joan, Mig, Toni, Kathleen.

Joan I am feeling a lot better today just a tad cold :frozen: but i'm indoors now so I will now warm up .

Mig sounds like you had a good evening at the concert things like that really cheer a day up don't they. :D

Barbara I too hope that the council come up with at least some help towards the new walker, but when working out how much I needed to save I exclude anything they would give so as not to be upset if they didn't stump up anything. I am just awaiting my share of the winter fuel allowance we receive as that is also earmarked to go towards walker. I am now so looking forward to the new baby and just waiting for the call to say my granddaughter has gone in to have her. she is due on the 19th December but midwives have said her growth is 2 weeks ahead so it may only be a couple of weeks to go.

Kathleen your poem has such truthful words thank you for sharing it. :D

    Hello Carol :)

How very exiting a new Gt Grandbaby due any day!!! How wonderful. Carry on knitting!!! What fun :)

I hope the council do help you out with the walker, but agree you are wise to raise the funds yourself.

Kath I read your poem on chit chat and think it is lovely, very sad, but lovely. Brave girl.

Aiden, are those cats on the chair yours? I'm with you about the lights. Plain white for me too. A little twinkle is ok but it irritates me when they flash like crazy. Your new chairs sound lovely and comfy. I could do with something like that.

Toni, you are right. We are very lucky here weatherwise. it could be much worse. I've tried hotters but can't walk far in them. I do have a pair of tidy shoes for when I get taken anywhere by car. I must admit, I am a bit disappointed I'm not going on the Polar Express but there is no room in the car so I can't get there. Oops, forgot to post my girl elfie. I will do it. She won't start getting up to her tricks till 1st December. I know someone who spent last week decorating her house for Xmas. I couldn't stand having them up for that long.

Barbara, glad you got to the GP. No need to tell you you shouldn't google things but we all do. That was a bit of a disaster for the garden centre having all those expensive boots ruined. You mentioned you say Lancashire instead of Manchester because they moved you. They are talking about moving us again. It's no wonder we don't know where we live. There's always an argument here as some people say we live in the new boundary and others say we will always be in the old one.

Joan, I hope you don't have any snow. We don't here but there is some in some places. Also flooding. Was it today you went for your scan? How did it go?

Carol, I hope the pain is easing a bit for you now. You sound very busy with your knitting. I'm sure you'll get everything done on time.

Kath, good to hear you are a little better. Hope it keeps going in that direction.Well done Emily. Hope she enjoys it. I'll have the ginger beef casserole, please. I love ginger. And the hot cross bun and butter pudding. What a lovely poem. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Mig, glad you enjoyed the concert. It was good of them to let you take pictures. Most don't allow it. Don't blame you not doing the ironing. There's always another day.

Haven't got on for a couple of days as I had 2 old school friends to stay. We talked non-stop from when they first arrived till bedtime then started again in the morning. Hadn't seen one of them for about 20 years and the other one for 40 years so a lot to catch up on. Talking of our weather in this country being quite good really, I am watching David Attenrough's Planet Earth. Wow, you wouldn't believe the extremes there are in some countries.

A late evening, early morning. hope everyone is as ok as can be.

It will be a quick daily diary tonight, after all the excitement of the end of year tennis at the O2, we are exhausted. Well done Andy, well deserved number one in the world.

Joan, hi hun, yes, it is a case of you get back what you give out I think. We leave the outside lights on, if our neighbours are out after it has gone dark. They do the same for us too, not that we go out in the dark, unless needs be.

Toni, I would have to sit and look a the Church too, not too close to the fire. Mind you, it is thick frost outside at the moment, so I might just warm my derriere.
I am with you on the Christmas lights. I know a lot of people decorate their houses in aid of various charities, which is commendable, others just want to outdo the Jones' and end up like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation (great film). The little spruces will look very nice I am sure.

Miss Slim puskins, personal trainer, is upside down on his fleece, basking, near the radiator. They are a pair. He will awaken soon and just about manage to get to the kitchen to eat a little more.

Hi there Carol, good to see you. Sorry to hear that you have not been too good recently. Pain seems to be an ever present and unwelcome companion to us all. Leaving hugs and some cakes, to keep you going through all that knitting. I can hear the needles click clack from here. You do right fighting for some compensation from the Council. It is their job to keep the highways and pavements in good order. Glad you are feeling better, always good to hear. I bet you are sitting by the phone, waiting for the news on new baby. Hope all goes well.

Kath, good to see you too and glad that things are a little more settled with the extra medication. Well done on Emily's job, great news indeed. The poem is lovely and so true. :)

Well, that was yesterday, it is now Tuesday morning, just. I needed to potter last night, so saved my ramblings to draft.

I have no idea where I got up to -

So glad you enjoyed the concert Mig, was it at the Theatre Royal. I say poo to the ironing, having done it yesterday. I usually enjoy it, but it irritated me immensely for some reason. The car is lovely, a pleasure to be in and OH just adores driving it. Miss M as we call her, is absolutely covered in pine needles, after all the wind and rain. They stick like glue. We will have to tackle them this week, they get into everything, the decking is covered too.

Did All go ok Joan, we were there under the cloak - you are not going on, not one bit, tests and the like are very stressful, even more so when you are limited in mobility.

Sounds like you had a big natter and a huge catch up at the week end Christine. I bet you had a great time. You will need a rest now, to get your voice back lol. 40 years is a long time to catch up on.

I am here Toni, just that yesterday and today seem to have blended into one.

It has been super horrid weather here, torrential rain and gale force winds on Monday evening. It was like being inside a washing machine, lashing at the windows. We all took to our beds for a nap, hiding under blankets, much to the pus cats delight.

I think I say Diddicat on a broomstick, but there was such high winds it was impossible to stop - she was gone in a flash.....I hope she made it back ok - circuit training cancelled due to high winds. :winter-storm:

Went out for coffee Mon morning, with Mum n Dad, Mum is doing ok at the moment, so we will carry on doing just whatever mum wants to do. Today we are off to Skipton, more coffee, more cakes, more goodies from Mark's. I might, I say might, buy some cards, well, I cannot get away from it, the Season is upon us.......he smiles through gritted teeth.

Right, who did I miss ? oh dear, I cannot think back. Apologies and hi to those who I have not mentioned, it does not mean you are not in thoughts.
Everyone take lots of care, keep warm. I hope the storm has now finished, some people have had terrible floods.
