Hi everyone. I've got my retina scan on Wednesday so hopefully I'll find out more about my eyes and what, if anything, they'll do about them. I've managed to finish my 2000 piece jigsaw so I'm going to leave it for a few days to admire it. The men came to put my new windows in. What a difference. The brackets for my blinds were fastened on to the wooden frames but I can't put them there as the windows are UVPC (is that right?) I'll have to try and fasten them to the brick wall without pulling down the plaster. I hurt my back a bit moving the furniture out of the way. My son told me off. :o I'm ok now though. Just been in to the kitchen for some fruit and made a chocolate cake instead. Oops!

Evening to one and all, I hope yours has been as pleasant as possible.

Hi Barbara, I trust you had a good visit with your BIL, I remember you said he is quite poorly.
Was lunch good? I hope so. Was cake involved :)

Dainty cakes are nice, as you say, you can eat quite a selection. I do search high and low for the best pictures.
I will definitely take a photo of pepe gliding up and and down the ironing board. ( I know Lucy thinks we are mad as hatters) :D:D

I never watched Paul at Battersea, apart from some of the trailers for the programme. That was enough to set me off, I would have had to take them all in. He does a lot for charity, as do so many of the stars. I know a lot of people are not too keen on Simon Cowell, but he has a soft spot for doggies and gives a lot of money to help those who are cared for by local animal sanctuary's.

I am still on course for not throwing things. I nearly tipped a 5 liter bottle of water over, but saved it in time. We only drink bottled water, something we have done for years now. I think it started in France, even though the water was fine to drink.

Hi Christine - I see we are on duty for Wednesday, under the cloak for your retina scan. Let's hope all goes well and they can help

You have done well with your jigsaw. I would not have the patience to sit and do one now. I fear it would be out of the nearest window  You do right, admiring it for a while.

Glad that your new windows are everything you expected and more. I think it is UPVC, poly whatsit something. I think either way it would work out about the same. :D
Naughty, moving furniture, you are as bad as me and I get told off too, usually more than once a day, when I think to myself "oh, I can do that" - well, no, I cannot, despite trying.  Grrrr

Are the blinds up and working now. I like you style, going into the kitchen for fruit and coming out with a chocolate cake 8) 8) :D I will be round in the morning, for a coffee and a slice of it, if that's ok.

Toni, I hope you have enjoyed your dinner visiting at the Dr's pray tell us all about it. Pepe said he will skype Miss Sleek, when we are all asleep.

Mig, Kath, Elizabeth, Kerrin and all, sending lots of hugs and well wishes.

I had better move, I am already chair shaped. N Night all. XX Aidan

    Morning!!

One very tired Toni here b020.gif

Starter a few doors to the right and one VERY small glass of wine. Main at the Drs, (opposite), with his Lab asleep on my feet (Miss Diddicat not happy about the smell of Mum's shoes  ), and how many glasses of wine? naughty Dr!!!! and lady Dr too!!! (candelabras and all that malarkey!), dessert, about 8 doors to the left on the new estate (4 houses been there 30 years!!) 2 more glasses of wine and key lime pie, emmental and brie :D

Then the 'after' party and one very small glass of homemade damson vodka

Checked my alcohol level this morning and apparently there is none :? Mind you we shall see when it checks Pauls!!!!!

Feet are killing me, but we had a great time. I shall spend the day recovering.

The cats have been skyping, Aidan, the lap-top was switched on when we came in....hurry up and get some ironing done I can't wait to see Pepaaaay! a030.gif

We were given information on pressure sores when Lucy was so ill with leukaemia and had lost 2 1/2 stone. Though I have seen them on others I refused to let it happen to her and kept on moving her, much to her irritation

Next was going to be a pressure mattress.

I didn't see a piano last night although they are there in one or two houses, but....there was a harp at the Drs  e015.gif

Yes I expect Miss Slimkins was complaining about a lack of shrews  not much about just yet.

Christine I am so glad you love your windows. Maybe your son can help with the blinds. Where are the new UPVC ones? Can you managed without in the meantime?

I would definitely keep your puzzle out for a few days and take a photo too :)

We will all be with you for your eye scan :?

Barbara I think Fe-line is mostly a stick to beat us owners with and for them to moan about us ;)

I must try to get that photo of me at Lucy's Christening so you can see how thin I was and how much worse I looked then that now. Like you and probably most people empty skin looks very wrinkly

We had a great time round the village, but today I am definitely in agony. Still it was worth it. Sundays are good for napping on sofas??

Joan thank you I did enjoy choir and met up with the farmer last night out and about at the Safari Supper as well as another farmer - his brother.

It's a bit like Come Dine with Me , but each course at a different with different people and nobody criticising the food!

So long as your heating works that's all that matters :D

You bump into people in the road with torches (no streetlights :) going from house to house.

    Right onwards and upwards!

Love to everyone esp those who are particularly rough ATM Kath and Elizabeth xxx

Aiden, I watch all the doggy programmes. With plenty of tissues. I keep thinking of getting a dog but now's not quite the right time as I'm out too much for a new dog. I knocked over a jar of paint brush cleaner this morning, all over the kitchen work top. Still smells after cleaning it a few times. I've got the patience for jigsaws but once this one was almost finished, I couldn't stop till it was done. As it would only fit on the coffee table, I had to kneel down. My knees complained the whole of the next day. Yes that's the one, poly whatsit something. I knew it was something like that. You're welcome to come round for chocolate cake but you'll have to be quick. Not much left. Oh, I did see your post about the Eyebright. I've checked where I can get it and I'll need 2 busses to get there. Think I'll see what they say at the hospital then maybe I can order it online.

Toni, glad you enjoyed your night. It's a great idea. Does everyone sit down at once together? Love the idea of everyone walking round with torches. Where did all the alcohol go? Must have leaked in to Paul. A harp. How lovely. I saw a lady a couple of weeks ago loading a harp in to her car. I asked if she played it and she said she did. Guess I was hoping she'd unpack it in the street and play for me. She didn't. My son did say he'd help put the blinds up. I need them on the 2 windows in the living room. I quite like not having them up but I share a path with next door so everyone who walks down the path looks in. I have a high hedge so they can't see as they pass the house, only through the low gate. I know what you mean about looking better when you weigh more. I was 8 stone and 5 feet 4 when I first got pregnant. I thought I looked good but a few people remarked on how much better I looked when I put weight on. And looking back at photos, I agree. Hope you're having a restful day with your feet up.

Joan, hope your heating is behaving now and you and Sue are warm enough.

Thanks everyone for booking in under the cloak for me on Wednesday. I've just got a fitness wrist band. Set it up yesterday teatime and I did about 1000 steps, just over 1/2 kilometre and used 57 calories in the evening. Wonder how many I do on a workday. It also records my sleep and how good the sleep is. Apparently I didn't sleep at all last night. I probably haven't set that bit up right as I slept quite well last night.

I'm having mouse problems. No, I don't need a visit from one of our gorgeous pus cats, I mean the ones for my lap top. They don't seem to like scrolling! They're both wireless. Don't know whether that's why they start grumbling.

Just watched a program about Dame Vera Lynn at 100. Lovely, but she sang me to sleep.
    :animal_busy:

Thought you might like this story from one of our local papers.

"A boy with autism who spoke for the first time after listening to Olly Murs songs met his pop star hero this week.
Ilkeston lad William Smedley waited for five hours at a music venue with his dedicated mum and was left beaming when his idol finally arrived and took the time to hug him. Community support worker mum Jemma Smedley said it was a groundbreaking moment for her son and he soon became obsessed with the pop star. She said: "They told us that he would never walk, talk or anything. At nine months he was having more than 60 seizures per day. His development was always on his terms but we never gave up hope.

"But we have seen a complete change in him since Olly Murs, especially in his memory. He took words out of the song and remembered them. I had a child who struggled to tell me he needed a drink...but he could sing a whole Olly Murs song."
Mrs Smedley said listening to the former X-Factor star's music had helped William overcome difficulties in all areas of his life.

The 38-year-old said: "He started watching the music videos and learning the dancing - he even won his school's talent competition last year. "It has certainly improved his movement. And even the way he says things now, it's a lot more clear. For years people would ask what he was saying, but now he has got the confidence...he's found that little thing he never had." William studies at the special needs Brackenfield School in Long Eaton and has three siblings - 14-year-old Leah, eight-year-old Alfie and six-year-old Harry.Mum Jemma Smedley is married to Richard, who works in health, safety and compliance on the railways in Mansfield. The pair have been together for 20 years and married for 18. Mrs Smedley described the moment William met Olly Murs earlier this week at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham. She said: "In that one and a half minutes I felt like I had made his dreams come true. "I don't think I have ever seen him so happy. William's little face was an absolute picture - I don't think he could believe it. I started to cry, my friend started to cry. He really felt like he fitted in with everyone."

Love and hugs to everyone. xxx

A quick afternoon to one and all, just time for our afternoon tea and cakes. Time has run away today and after 36 hours of rain, the sun has finally come out. Flood alerts on our nearby river Ribble.

Toni can recover from her wine and the like, Christine from her bad knees and Kath from her mouse problems.

I will pop in later and write again. XXX Later - Aidan cakes-bakes-good-tea.jpg

    Evening to one and all

You sound to have had a great time Toni, nipping around the village to various houses, a different course at each one. Sounds like good fun, all pootling around with torches.
Much wine flowing, damson vodka. I hope you had a good day on the settee, recovering. How is Paul, did he have one extra drink along the way? ooops, lol
The Drs house sounds very nice, with a Harp as well, how delightful. I wonder where the piano's where - I would have snook off to find them and had a little play.

Miss Sleek did say that there was a doggy smell on Mummy, when she skyped Pepaaay. She wasn't happy, but Pepe talked her out of calling the fe - line.

Key Lime pie Emmental and Brie, that would do me fine, for the whole meal, with some crusty granary bread.

Nothing to iron at the moment, in a day or so there will be, so I will take a pic of Pepe then.

I am sure you gave the utmost care to Lucy and well done for helping to prevent any sore areas. They can happen so quickly.

Thank you Joan, we have had a pretty chilled out day today. OH helps as much as possible, with me wandering off and doing things that are too much, but I do get told off
Take care both and love to the doggies too.

Hi Christine. Ooops, paint cleaner, that would be a bit smelly. One of those that linger. At least the worktop will be free from any paint :?
You must have patience to do jigsaws and I bet your knees were giving you some stick.
I bet I have left it too late now, for any chocolate cake. Maybe if you bake another one and I will be there asap :D

You can order eyebright from Boots, or Liz Earle direct, or QVC, Amazon, best ask though, here is a full list of the ingredients.
    Full ingredients list

At Liz Earle, high performance, quality and safe ingredients are our priority.
The ingredients in this product are:

Aqua (water), Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, PEG-60 almond glycerides, Glycerin, Decyl glucoside, Centaurea cyanus (cornflower) flower extract, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Euphrasia officinalis extract, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Benzoic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Citric acid, Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate.

Hope your blinds are easy to put up, yes, you don't want nosey folks looking in

I have looked at the fitness bands, but never taken my interest any further. fancy it saying you didn't sleep. Not sure how it knows. :? You are doing well so far with it.

Just finished watching the final from Indian Wells, well done Roger, the 5th time of winning there. Great match. Now on to Miami, Andy has pulled out of that, with an arm injury.

    Be right back, pill time.

Hi Kath, so you are having problems with meeces, of the computer type. Sometimes they can lag, compared to a wired / USB one. OH always uses a wireless one though. If the batteries are a bit iffy, then they will misbehave, they don't seem to like rechargeable ones.
What a heartwarming story of one boys coming to life so to speak, how wonderful.
There is a book about Jess the cat who helped a boy with autism and selective mutism to start living a normal like Jessi-cat: The cat that unlocked a boy's heart

I was reading about Dame Vera Lynne, on her 100th Birthday, what a national treasure she is.

I hope you are feeling a little more rested and managing to get out and about, weather permitting. You would need full waterproofs here at the moment. Our river has already flooded at one village down the road and it is still pouring.

Hi Barbara Hope you are as ok. Good to hear that your BIL is not in pain, that is a very important thing with any illness.
I am sorry to hear of his diagnosis - he sounds like Mum, ignoring it and getting on with things as much as possible. Glad that he can get out and about on his scooter.

Knocking things over is not a new thing, ever since my neuropathy started I have been sending things flying, burning my fingers, etc etc. The times that I go for something in a cupboard and end up with half the contents crashing down. OH always says, at least I always know where you are

Good to hear that there has been cake, although you were very good at the little GC, not popping into the cafe.
You are more than welcome to the cake with the strawberry on top, I had already eaten the one with the crunchies on top :)

We are at the dentist this morning, so over to Skipton, floods allowing, we have three bridges that cross our river near us, one is already flooded, hopefully the other two are open. We might need a boat.
After our clean and polish, it will be straight to Nero's to stain our teeth again, lol. We have not been for weeks, the staff will wonder where we are. I am sure there will be a muffin or two.

Right, I had better move my creaking self. Mig, Carol, Kerrin, Elizabeth and all, take lots of care. XXXX Aidan

    Morning!

Joan we got a free pass this year, but next year we will be cooking right enough

Christine I also have a fitness band and love it. I try to move 250 steps every hour if I can and my sleep is proven to be as bad as I said it was!! So bad in fact my husband thought it was the band so we swapped and there is one day it looks like I only moved one and he had one 'terrible' night!!

hehehe! Keep it on mine motivates me :) as for being under the cloak on Wednesday - where else would we be?

So your living room is cosy now? I think I would have the blinds up too we all need our privacy. :?

Kath what a lovely story! Sometimes all these very special children need it something to break though to them :D

Bless him and his family and Olly Murrs too.

Do your mouses need new batteries in them - mine did last week.

Thank you for posting, but since you don't mention how you are I suspect still not great :( ((()))

Aidan thank you for the afternoon cakes - they helped loads  and a nice 'blingy' night night too what more could we want? :D

I hope the river hasn't flooded too much and you can get to the dentists ok this morning.

No way was Lucy going to get a pressure sore on my watch!!

You know I would have said the same about the meal. The desert was my favourite and the hosts there are nice too. The husband goes to the shed :)

Oh gosh please thank Pepe from preventing yet another call to Fe-line

    Ironing later this week? Excellent!

I am able to leave glasses half-full, but Paul isn't!! also I had no beer so that was his downfall!!! Next year our ramp will be done and I will make sure the organiser knows those with mobility issues will be especially welcome at ours. :)

It was great honestly a great night. Torches lanterns and mobile phone torches. the very occasional car. Must not have been at the do. There were 42 in total should have been 46 but kone chap had heart attack and another lady got the runs!!

Morning Barbara :) I think Simon Cowell is much softer that he'd have is think!!

We went to our GC too deliberately to the aquarium!! We bought a larger tank is the clowns have almost outgrown ours! I am in the process of filling it...this will take some time!!

I often need new plants for ours too bless them :)

BIL is right to get on with his life bless him ((()))

I tried to keep the cream jug down my end for the sweets!!! yup you got me sussed!!

    Right better get on!

    Love to you all

Morning all very dark here..but mild again
Aiden I hope the clean and polish goes ok..strange but this is one thing I don't like..think its because mt teeth are sensitive..I hope Skipton doesn't have nay floods they have had it bad over the last couple of years..I drink black coffee so my teeth really do get stained.enjoy your muffin..
Toni 42 of you I was thinking a few.. :D how lovely it must have been especially with all the lights..so each house had to make enough food for 42.. my OH is the same with beer never leave any is his motto.. nice to have the ramp then no one is excluded..
I have a neighbour come round today..and she bakes...I say no more.. :D:D and a large black Labrador that was a failed blind dog..the first thing he will do is go and get Niamhs toys out..

Joan I am fully recovered now don't worry :)

Cris is doing really well still trying to get that dog found bless her :( I'll tell her you asked about her.

Yes 42 Barbara but only all together at the party. each house catered only for 6/8.

So lots of houses all at the same time. Took some planning I bet!!

The ramp will help us all because the steps at the front are steep there is a slope at the side, but even there there are a few steps.

Aw the doggie playing with toys :) :running_dog: Sounds adorable!

Baking?? did you say baking?? Share now Barbara come on :lol:

Kath, have you sorted your mouse out yet? My dad met Vera Lynn when he was in the navy. She borrowed 6d off my dad but he never saw her again so didn't get it back. I read about the boy meeting Olly Murs. Isn't it wonderful.

Barbara, I think it's amazing when people are so ill but make the most of life. Is it a new garden centre you went to? Well done only buying the bird food and plants. My boss's aquarium is often empty because the fish eat all the plants.

Aiden, if you haven't got any ironing to do, you could pop over and help me with the ironing I have to do at work. One of the boys is home from uni so there are a few basketfuls. I might bake you a chocolate cake. Hope you didn't need to swim to the dentist.

Toni, my band ran out of charge during the night so I charged it this morning before going to work. It's almost a mile there and back again plus all the walking I do while there but it only registered just over half a mile. You've got a bigger aquarium. I love clown fish. Is it a sea water aquarium? Do you have anemoninnees? lol Thank goodness each house only had 6 or 8 people for dinner. I couldn't imagine everyone cooking for 42.

Joan, I hope I don't have to wait at the hospital. My appointment is at 9.30 am. I've been checking how to get there and I will need 3 buses and it will take me 2 hours. I don't normally wake up till 7.30 but will need to leave home by then. I remember putting a pipe in my mouth to start the water from the aquarium going in to a bucket. Once I didn't take it out of my mouth quickly enough. Yuk.

Lots of ironing to do at work today and half of it covered in tissue again. Wish they would check their pockets before putting things in the washer. Tesco shop tomorrow. Hope I can be good again. 3 weeks now I've walked past the ice cream and chocolate and not wanted any. :D

Evening to one and all, apologies for the lack of afternoon T and cakes. I was just about to write and neighbour popped round for a natter, then I had a hypo and was stuffing chocolate in to bring my blood sugar up, it was a horrid one, cold sweat from the feet upwards.
Anyway, that all sorted, then it was nap time. Now it is nearly midnight.

I had the same thought as Barbara, catering for over 40 people. :? But, I understand now, so many at each house for the food, then all meet up for the party. Oh dear, someone had an MI and another had a tummy bug, hope they are ok.

Fortunately the bridges were all open Toni, our nearest had a big tree stuck under one of the arches, it was well up to the top of the bank. :? and yes, it is still raining. We had an interlude this afternoon, of sunshine, then it went as black as pitch and the heaven's opened again.

I used to say that, "not on my shift" when I was working :)

I have thanked Pepe, re the halted call to fe-line. I think there was skyping while we were out at the dentist. All cleaned and polished.

Then it was to Nero's, panini then wonderful carrot cake, which had mystical powers of making you need more. I should have had another slice, then I might have avoided my hypo. See, there is always a reason for cake lol.

So the beer was Paul's downfall, oh dear. It is years since I have had anything alcoholic, just cannot bear the thoughts of it. OH is the same.

Ramps are wonderful, we have one to our front door and shallow steps to the back door.

Will look forward to a pic of the new aquarium when it is sorted, swaps for pic of pepe on the ironing board :)

Hi Barbara, yes, we managed to get to Skipton, there was less water laying in the fields than I thought. I have seen it completely cut off before now, one huge lake with a town in the middle
I think they forgot to charge for two clean and polishes, only charged for mine, not OH, so that's fine by me :)
We even avoided Mark's, which is a shock. There was nothing I could think of, that we cannot get in Sainsbury's etc.

A lady who bakes, mmmmmmm, I guess there was cake involved in the visit, as well as the Lab fetching Niamh's toys

Thank you joan, everything was ok at the Dentist. The coffee was very much needed by the time 12 came. I had to have two large Americano's, the girls were pleased to see us, we haven't been over to Skipton for quite a long time now.
Hi to Sue and to the doggies, hope the heating is behaving itself.

Hi Christine - fancy your Dad meeting Vera Lynne and her borrowing money from him :o

I don't mind helping with the ironing, oh, I see it is all covered in tissues, oh dear - pop it back in the dryer.
If the end result is a chocolate cake, I will be on my way with the iron asap

That will be a long treck to the hospital and an early start too. Pity it is so far away. We will be there, have no worries about that.
Some fish tank water  oh dear. Yuck. no more siphoning now.

You ave done very well to pass the chocolate by at Tesco. I have to keep some in, for times like today when my blood sugar plummeted. I could feel it coming on and it was 3.8, my normal low blood sugar is around 5.

Right, I had best move and potter a little. I seem to have sat too long today, in one chair or another.
Hi to Carol, Mig, Elizabeth, Kath, Kerrin and all. Take care XXX Aidan

Seeing as I forgot the afternoon T and cakes, I thought I would pop some pastries in for breakfast. :)

Afternoon to all, I had better not miss our afternoon T and cakes, or I will be sent to Coventry :lol: (which is quite a nice place really, I enjoyed every visit).

Hi Joan, thank you for asking, Mum and Dad are ok, we went for a coffee and scones this morning, at the GC, which was very nice. What a cold wind it was too, then hail, sleet, snow on the hills........ :?
Mum is doing ok, keeps herself going and always out and about every day, not that we see them every day, we all need our own time too. If they need us, we are only 50 yards away.
Puskins are all ok, two are sunbathing and Mother is asleep on the ottoman.

Hi Barbara - it was cold, I was frozen bow legged, took me at least one coffee and thaw out, then another coffee, then I was hot, there is no medium ground. The wind and rain woke me up a couple of times in the night. More rain forecast for later and snow warnings too. Stopping in tomorrow.

I am glad there was cake yesterday, I am sure it was good and I think you might be right, eating out and then not going to the supermarket, I think it would be cheaper to be honest. Let's try it, I am all for lunching, but then what about the evening, we don't like to go out at night..........Order takeaways, there, sorted.

Kind of you to let the doggie take the toy home, bless.

I have had a dust round, OH has done the lower level things, like the glass tv stand - I have done it a few times and then cannot get up
Washer going, dryer going, ironing tomorrow, so will take pic of Pepe.

Hi to everyone else, Christine, Toni, Kath, Mig, Kerrin, Carol, and all. Time for pills. Hope there are enough cakes to go round. Catch you all later lots of love XXXX Aidan

    Hello all

oh my where have the days gone I have just realised the last time I popped in was 5 days ago it don't seem the long ago I have found a page on facebook with jigsaw puzzles on to do and have been spending a lot of time on there too much time in fact. but the last few days Mr turbo has been very quite and grumpy so I have left him well alone as cant be bothered be any arguments that will occur if I said anything about it but that's the male population for you.

We now have Snowies frame complete with 2 photos and his collar on our hallway wall it looks really nice. trouble is the walls in our living and hallway are now getting very full with pictures without the free standing frames on shelves and units in in living room it like an blooming art gallery believe me.:lol:  most of them being of family members. its getting very difficult to find a space now.

and I now need to exchange some for new photos of Graycie as at the moment we only have a couple of those on our electronic frame and on there they keep changing every 15 mins so she is not showing on there all the time.

weather here today is quite pleasant not sure how long it will last .
had a new sofa bed delivered today for our spare room but it has come damaged so we have got to have it taken away and a new one sent will be a couple of weeks more now for the new one hope fully it will be quick as we have our grandson supposedly staying with us for the night in a couple of weeks time as he has an early hospital appointment in London the following day and he dosent think he will be getting hospital transport dispite the fact that he lives in margate kent and would need to use public transport to get there. cannot believe they have given him an appt at 9.30 in the morning. it would take him a good 3 hrs door to door by public transport.

well I think I had better move before I become chair shaped :lol:

will pop in soon love to all x
    Stay positive always👍xx

Joan, I hadn't thought about taking a book but I think it would be a good idea. Hope you and Sue and the doggies are ok.

Barbara, I now what you mean about it maybe being cheaper just to eat out. We'd only buy what we need. I always end up with much more than I really need. The dog must have liked the toy if he took it home.

Aiden, what awful weather you've had. We had a couple of light snow showers and it's been cold but not too bad. Glad to hear mum is still out and about. Having a hypo sounds very unpleasant. My brother has had a few and passed out.

Carol, I think there are a couple more people here do online jigsaws. They're a good idea, aren't they? Hope Mr Turbo gets over his grump quickly. How lovely to have Snowie's photos and collar on your wall. I've never been a photos on show sort of person until my son got me a canvas of my GC. Now I've got lots of photos on show. Hope you get your new sofa bed in time for your GS coming to stay.

Well I was naughty today and bought ice cream. Instead of a big tub though, I bought packs of individual ones so at least, if I do want some, it'll only be a bit. You won't believe it but, when I got home, there was a letter from the consultant radiologist at the hospital where I had my mammogram. I have to go tomorrow afternoon for x-rays and further tests. I'm not worried about it as I've been twice before with lumps. One was a cyst and it was sorted straight away. The other was because 'at my age, breasts are usually lumpy.' So, instead of having a day off, I'll be up an hour earlier than usual, 3 busses to one hospital, eye scan then 3 busses to the other hospital (might possibly have an hour in town), x-rays etc then 2 busses back home, hopefully by teatime. :animal_busy: :bee:

evening to all - chilly, but dry, for a while at least.

Hi Carol, has it been 5 days, time vanishes before us :? The online jigsaws sound very interesting, I might have to investigate them on FB. Oh dear, Mr T has been in the grumps and no, you don't want to be arguing, it is draining to say the least. Us men, we are funny articles.
Good to hear that you have Snowies picture and collar in the frame - a fitting reminder. So you have an art gallery, that's ok, we like pictures, I have a lot that my late Dad painted, but we only put a couple up at a time, then have a change round every so often.
Mum n Dad IL have a lot of pictures of family members too.
Yes, you will need some pictures of Graycie, for sure.

What a pain, having new sofa bed arrived damaged, now you have to wait another two weeks for a replacement. Annoying.
Let's hope it is in time for your GS coming to stay, prior to the hospital appointment. Three hours door to door, goodness me, there would be no point going to bed the night before :o

Hope you are not chair shaped, if you are, we can make a suite, as I am often in that position

Hi Christine I think we are all prepared for the hospital visit, which has now turned into visits. That's ok, we will stop with you. It is an early start, so I have packed breakfast for us all.

    75803759a22947fff3f6bd16c4fce3ee.jpg

Then we will have time for a spot of lunch

    4-Lunch-buffet-platter-box-selection-delivered-to-Plymouth-Devon-uk-from-Lunch-Catering-Services.jpg

After that, while we try and digest everything, we will be there for the mammogram, which I am sure will be ok. They will always call people in, as a matter of course, to check and re test, as you say, lumps that are benign, or cysts, do occur as one gets a little older. It happens in men too, people think that breast lumps and problems are confined to ladies, but no, not at all. After all that, you will need a long rest when you get home, all those bus journeys, ( we would take you if we could ) :)

I think we will all need at least one or two cups of T.

We don't have family pictures up, we have them all on the computer etc, and one of my Mum and Dad sit on my bedside cabinet.

The hypo was not pleasant, I can usually ward them off, but this one took some getting rid of. No further problems since.

We were at the GC for coffee and scones, which was very pleasant, I was quite happy and could have stayed there all day.

Did some shopping, then home in time for lunch.

Right, I am the same shaped chair as Carol, so I had better move. Hi to Toni, Kath, Mig, Elizabeth, Kerrin, Joan and all. Hope veryone is as ok as possible.
I will start packing the magic cloak.

    Take care, XXX Aidan

    Morning all

I hope you are all well Aidan no more hypos!! Behave!!

Joan introduced me to Jigzone I do them sometimes I think Barbara does too.

It's good to hear Mum and Dad are doing so well. really I am so very pleased :)

Daisycat says indoor sunbathing is the way to go! Oooh! Today there will be ironing then gliding then a photo!!! Can't wait!!

All those afternoon cakes thank you :)

Lucy's furniture arrived yesterday, but today I am Hoar Cross Hall and Paul had pulled his back so. It will be tomorrow until photos can be taken :)

Christine Oh gosh!! What a day you have ahead of you :( I am sorry about that, but it will be all done in one go. We will be with you (can wait outside for the shall we say 'delicate' bits?), I am so glad you aren't worried because I know I would be.

Small tubs of ice-cream are ok I hope. Only I know I would open 2 :?

Yes 5 days Carol flew by! I think it's nice having loads of pictures up of family, but Graycie must have hers up!!

Snowy's deserves pride of place bless him ((()))

Mr T is playing up? Well he has behaved for a good while hasn't he?

I hope your replacement sofa bed arrives in time.

I have a vacuum for my tank Barbara - cost £7 from the pet shop. It has a balloon to start the syphoning off and you can poke it in the grave for the 'real muck!! Most gratifying in your bucket afterwards!!

Once you enter a supermarket you are doomed!! I have saved a fortune living here where I have to make an effort!!

I am glad the doggie found a toy or two and hope Niamh doesn't notice!!

Joan it is lovely being here. I am very lucky especially as it's only 4/5 miles from decent sized towns. I hope you are ok and the doggies. Rain here :(

    Love to you all

Apart from having a lot of hip pain, I'm also feeling distraught. I had a message this morning from a friend in an RA facebook group. She has a sister who is one of JW's. She has terminal cancer, and is now hardly eating. Her consultant should be able to tell her husband how long he thinks she has left. She has no fear of death, but is anxious for her family after she has gone.
