    Morning all :)

Aidan I love the teddy piccie :) So sweet :)

I'm afraid Pepe and Diddi are a pair  you should have seen how low the broomstick was flying!! Her back pack was full to bursting  Bless them! She joined in some of the pawlatees herself I believe and the sunbathing.

Good job she got back before the heavens opened.

Today I shall be taking it very easy... maybe practising for choir :) Veni sanctus spiritus or Prepare Ye??

    A very definite t1230.gif

Home for Joan from me too :)

Christine Tapirs are adorable!! I would stroke on too if I had one. We have room :?

Maybe we can have one to add to the café menagerie?

I agree with you about the fairies - they will be in the windmill of Barbara's. Barbara will have to pop tiny cups and saucers in there with sandwiches (teeny ones) like I used to for Charley and Lucy :)

I imagine rhinos would need a lot of paracetamol wouldn't they? Poor thing :(

    Right onwards and upwards

    Love

Morning all very dull here today no sun as we have had the last few days but it is not cold. hope someone somewhere has some sun. had quite a relaxed day yesterday went out to our local high street for a coffee and a bite to eat around lunchtime then straight back home then a nap before I went out again to my weigh in gained 2 and half pound this week but still in target so that's ok 3 more weeks to go to keep it there and I will have managed to stay in target for 3 years.

Yes Barbara I do miss doing the duties for St John had lots of fun on them too especially on large ones with lots members on duty at the same time and even at the stadium for the stock car and the speedway. lots of memories of good duties and bad ones. they are a very big part of my life It was a proud Mum moment too because back in 2012 when I and the then leader of the division both retired my Daughter took over and now is officially leader of the division, after many years in the organisation herself. I think her service record must be over 25 yrs as a cadet and as an adult member this dose not include the years she spent as a junior she first started at age 8 and she is now 43. and the payback I have suffered is well worth it. Adian I know about the weird looks too as when I get off the bus with my rollator I go of first backwards and pull the rollator of after me. I take no notice. and as far as cousins wife helping me I am a very independent person but I will always ask for help if I know I need it and also she was understanding due to my cousin and their daughter so I didn't mind really. and I do love your it about coming down stairs backward and I would be as likely to say the same thing as you.
Christine I will always ask if I need help and my cousins wife is a lovely lady I get on well with her. as far as the photos are concerned I knew that would be when I took them I did object though when my daughter asked me to change the wording on my facebook status so that I did not connect her name with my praise of the appearance of st john members on the track which I had done at first I said no if they don't like it tell them to contact me but I did change it. but of course I have had no thank you from my daughter for doing it but then well what did I expect silly me. still a bit annoyed though as I had tagged her in the status by she will she has not accepted it onto her timeline which is why I tagged her in the first place. :x

    will pop in again soon
    take are all

Toni good luck with practice..glad you have taken to the singing... :) yes there are little fairies she did see them ..but the cakes had all gone..I adore the Tapir bless I want one..we could share
Aiden you were welcome to the shovel thingy..glad the neighbours came to help..that is how neighours used to be help one another... :) now the hot tub...dont worry we would both need an hoist..and it would be under cover then no one would see..
Christine the poor mum I haven't seen the zoo this week or last come to that...how lovely of the keepers to stroke it..they must be distraught when this happens..the poor rhino..all those paracetamol..hope its tummy is ok... :o
Thankyou Ellen mine disappear when I am not logged in they didn't use to ....
OH is not to bad but still in bed I will get someone to bring the sachets that you take after having the run and being sick..

Aidan and Toni, I'm really enjoying your pusskins blog. Although with our hares, doggies and hopefully baby tapirs, we'll soon be calling it 'Pet's Corner'. A farm in Derbyshire had a ewe give birth to 4 lambs, 2 of each. Shall we adopt one of each?

Oh Kath - can we have all 4???

    They are so sweeet!!

I'm glad the escapades of Daisycat AKA Miss Slimkins/Sleek/Miss Slimcea and Pepe and the girls are entertaining you :D

We are all a bit silly in here aren't we?

Aidan those baby tapirs!!! A cross between a badger, an ant eater and a pig I think with stripes like a zebra!!

Barbara St John's rescued Lucy at the V festival last year when she has a seizure :)

We can all share the tapir so long as I can give it milk from a bottle at least once a day!!!

    I knew there'd be fairies!!

Wow Carol almost 3 years?!! That is amazing :) I rather think SW have got it sussed you know if it's possible to do that - so many yoyo and you haven't neither has Hileena and she used SW too I think.

Like you and Aidan I do any scary stairs backwards. I learnt to do this when I had my back operation. Usually I get Paul to stand 'in front' of me so I can knock him over if I fall!!!

Kids eh? I'd take no notice of your daughter. We don't always get thanks yet we go out of our way to do anything they ask

Right must get on shopping to do

    Love and ((()))

    Evening all

Thank you Toni and Barbara yes SW dose work think ot is because it is well balanced and the foods they recommend are worked out to be just that and it is so easy to keep too as there is no calorie counting and most thing you don't have to weigh or measure. its all done for you and yep I am very proud on those nearly 3 yrs. at target. never thought i'd keep too it but well after 4 years 5 months its now normal healthy eating to us.

It is also very nice tpo hear all your nice comments about St John Ambulance Barbara I am so glad that they were there to help your son that sounds very nasty indeed. Toni so glad they were there for Lucy too to help with the seizure she had. yes Hileena was doing slimming world I yo yo up and down but always staying in my target zone of the 3lb above and 3lb below which Is as allowed to be classed as at target. poor OH if you did fall  and yes I agree about kids but I understand what she is saying but its not as though its her that is putting it on there anyway must to my disgust I did reword it and now it looks as though she was there in some other capacity but well if that's the way she wants it it is up to her. shame though she even asked my cousins wife to take a photo off for same reason which to her credit she did
but it would have been good publicity for them

well think id better move have been sitting here long enough and i'm getting a bit stiff in the good old joints

    take care all

Aiden, no sign of baby giraffe yet. People are beginning to say it's an April fool as the 1st is only a couple of days away and the mother is called April.

Toni, we definitely need one or two tapirs. They are so adorable. Of course you should have your turn to feed them with the bottle. I think we will all be queuing up. No-one in here is silly. It's all good fun. I know I shouldn't laugh but I did giggle when you said you put Paul in front on the stairs so you knock him over first.

Carol, you have done so well with your weight loss. You are still in target and for 3 years. What a shame you couldn't connect your daughter's name with the St John. I thought that would be a good thing. And a shame she hasn't put in on her timeline. it is something to be proud of.

Barbara, yes the zoo keepers do get a bit upset when they lose an animal but they also realise it is part of life and said they would never leave an animal in pain. Hope your OH recovers quickly. Bet he doesn't like being stuck in bed.

Kath, it is looking like pets corner, isn't it? We definitely need the lambs too.

I've been for another dental check-up today. The dentist said my tooth is completely out of the jaw bone now and only being held in by the soft tissue in my gum so I am having it removed next week. In the morning so I have the rest of the day to feel sorry for myself. Got a letter from the eye hospital with an appointment in July. I phoned up to ask about it as I thought the doctor said to go back in a year. Apparently she has referred me to another consultant to get a second opinion.

Evening to everyone, is it me, or has it gone warm :?

Welcome home Joan, I hope you are ok and mending steadily, good to know that you are back with Sue and the doggies.

Toni, I can only imagine what the broomstick was like, with all the gravel, skimming the tree tops I am sure. They are a pair, his nibs has just thrown up after being greedy with is supper......on OH computer chair, oooops  Big clean up.

I hope you have been taking things easy today, practicing prepare ye the way, a very lovely prayer too.

Oh the baby Tapir is just SOOOOOO cute. I would be more than happy to feed and tend its every whim. Yes, we need a zoo, in the cafe, I shall arrange an extension to be built.

Oh and the lambs too, we need all four of them as well.

Hi there Carol no, we didn't have sunshine today, more rain, but not the deluge that we had on Friday, that was rattling the windows. Glad I am not alone, feeling warm.
I am sure you will make your 3 years on target and all credit to you, well done, I know from past experience that is it not at all easy at times.
You certainly did a sterling job with the St John's and you are rightly proud of your Daughter who has taken over the reigns. A big commitment from both of you.

You do right, making it as easy for yourself as possible, getting off the bus. Does the driver lower the suspension, I know a lot of buses do that now, to make things less of a leap.
I did go upstairs once, in Nero's in Skipton, being stubborn and saying I will be fine. Well it was like the North Face of the Eiger and I was nearly on the floor by the time I got up there. Then spent the whole time worrying about going down.

It was slow going and must have been funny for those downstairs to see me coming down backwards whilst hanging on by my eyelashes.
NEVER again. I had OH in front and Neice behind me - I said if I go, we all go.
Fortunately I heard no comments, or I would have bitten their heads off.

Do St John's not like their good works and photo's on social media sites? Or do you have to get permission. I would have thought the more positive output the better. :?
I hope your Daughter accepts the tag on her timeline.

Hi Barbara, yes, we can share the Tapir feeding times, we will have a rota. Isn't it the most wonderful animal.

Thank you for the gravel mover, (otherwise known as neighbours) lol.
OH has been out, sorting pots and arranging some in different areas. When it is all sorted I will post a picture. Ignore the huge LPG tank that lives in the garden, no mains gas here, so we have to have LPG - we share the tank with next door.

Did I say, we live in a residential Park Home, which is just the same as a bungalow, two bed, two bath, everything built in, when we moved in it had all new furniture and beds in too. I will pop a picture on when I transfer it to photobucket.

I am glad the hot tub will have a cover over it, so that our modesty is maintained at all times.

Sorry your OH is feeling  some dioralyte sachets, they are good, for replacing lost fluids and salts etc. Flat lemonade it good too.

Hi Kath, I am glad you are enjoying the escapades of the puskins. Pepe is resting after making a big mess on Oh chair :lol:
He will skype Miss Diddicat overnight, when we are all asleep. He would love a Tapir and the lambs.

Hope you are in less pain today, after you walks.

As Toni says, we are a little silly, well, not really, it's the cafe and all things are possible. Magic.

Did I see fairies - I did, from Barbara's windmill I would guess.

St John's do a fabulous job and are invaluable as part of the wider health system. Good that they were there for Lucy and for Barbara's Son.

I see you do the stairs backwards too Toni, that's right, whoever is first, will act as a cushion, if we all go base over apex.

An April fool you think Christine, well, I guess it is possible if the Giraffe is called April.........we will see. I am sure the keepers do get upset. Yes, it is part of life, but they must get very attached to the animals in their care. How I ever nursed for 25 years I will never know. I was often bawling.

I am sure the dentist will soon have that tooth out - with lignoacine or similar. A second opinion is ok, normally to make sure that the first person was giving out all the right information. We will be there, as and when we are all needed.

Well I had better post soon, this is the third time I have sat down to write. Hi to everyone who are not about at the moment, busy with families etc.

    Take lots of care. 2197dcc531f1ceee145ec412f031aa1c.jpg

I found the picture, we had not long moved in, ignore the weeds.

    Morning all :)

I wonder whether Joan will post today :? Joan we are all so very happy yo are home and know you will do your exercises like Lucy and it should heal really well :Dt4416.gif

Aidan the bungalow looks lovely. My friend lived in one for years it was a 2 bed too and the bathroom was lovely - bigger than our old house!! I can't wait to see OH's handiwork outside when he's happy with it of course.

Daisycat reckons tapirs must stay in cafés :( She can be a bit jealous you know. Pepe will tell you  Same for baby lambs. Rota for bottle feeding them all yes that's fair, but can they stay babies do you think? :? maybe???

The broomstick was so low she nearly hit the weather-vane on the Church roof. I have explained the gravel is supposed to be decorative so hopefully she won't half-inch any more

Apparently his Nibbs was sick due to 'bad' food not over-eating  Cheeky boy isn't he? Sleek wasn't fooled though she knows him

Choir practise tonight... Pre-e-epare Ye the way of the Lord!!

Christine if Paul goes first on the stairs it will be a nice soft landing :) hehehe!!

I hope it's not an April fool I want to see the baby giraffe :(

That tooth should come out easily if it's not in the jaw-bone now, but you have every right to feel sorry for yourself afterwards.

A second opinion is always a good thing. Maybe the other Doc will have some ideas.

Carol that is probably the key to weight loss and maintaining it. the permanent change in eating habits, portion control etc. Did I tell you how much weight my sister has lost?

Are you sitting down? (Not chair shaped yet I hope) Eight and a half stones. Bless her she's done it all on her own too :)

As far as the photo, and tagging your daughter in it is concerned, you did what she asked as did your cousin's wife. Hopefully that will be the end of it.

Right I must get dressed

Tia and I are off to try and talk her Grandad into a stair lift, (he's the one who drove into the petrol station last year), as he can hardly manage the stairs. His Son and DIL want him in a home!! We are on his side, but he must be safe.

Fingers crossed for me everyone

    Love

The babies are all ready for a feed :) Good job you made up a load of bottles Barbara makes it much easier.

Your OH must be feeling better to suggest a run out. That's good and you didn't catch it!! :D

We used to drink flat coke the same as the flat lemonade!!

I am already used to our bungalow and feel neither upstairs nor down. The thing I most struggled with was whether it was the hall or the landing!!

Afternoon to one and all, sunshine, now rain, but very warm -almost having a "moment".

Toni I am not surprised Miss Slimkins nearly took the weather vane with her, en route back home. I think there was a fly by this morning, to see if there were any more spare, but OH was out in the garden, so she was off like a shot.

So pepe was telling tales about his food, bad food indeed, he knows I am talking about him he has his pig hears on, listening.
He has mentioned that Miss Sleek can be a bit jealous, but he wll say there is nothing to worry about with Tapir's and Lambs. I have done a rota, funny how my name is on it so often :lol: :?

Have a lovely time at Choir practice :)

Of course, pictures, I have a fair few to put on, I think you can put three on in each post.

I had to put one of my fav plants on, the little meeces are just appearing on our mouse plants.

    20170330_150252_zpsjjugmehn.jpg

They are lovely, they grow so big, you can split them as many times as you like once they are going over in Autumn.

This is what the plot looked like before we bought the new park home.

    DSCF1083_zpsuilwasch.jpg

A lot of hard work has gone on over the past few years.

Well done to your Sister for loosing all the weight. I lost over 9 stone, but that was when I went to the gym 5 days a week and was dieting too. That was a long time back.

I hope you manage to talk Grandad into having a stair lift, it would make things a lot easier I am certain.

Safety is paramount, without a doubt.

I see the babies need feeding, I will sort that out for the afternoon shift. :)

Thank you for getting the bottles ready Barbara.

We love the park home, so much better than a house, no stairs, everything we need, wonderful woodland setting yet close to town. They are so well insulated, it is no wonder I have the vapours in spring and summer. I am after having proper AC fitted, but it is uber expensive.
Any that come up for sale are soon snapped up, much cheaper than trying to buy a bungalow round here, they start at 300 000 upwards  in need of upgrading. :o

I am glad OH is feeling better, if not fully recovered. I hope you enjoyed your trip out too. Where did you go, not too far.

Joan, I hope you are ok, love to you and Sue and the doggies.

I will post this then I can pop a couple more pictures on. Otherwise you will think we live on a building site, lol.

Toni ..I think the feeds will have to be every 2 hours so say close by..
Aiden one word for your home perfect...really is somewhere that I would love to live..I have been a bit wary of site homes..in case they can throw you off at a mins notice..but I think they brought in more laws for them ...the gravel looks like ours but neater, does it have a blue tinge..and it looks so peaceful...now the meeces plant they really do look like them noses and ears..do they flower..
Better go my tea is ready... :D

Aiden, it was very warm here today. Had to keep hanging out of the window at work today. Hope you managed to clean OH's chair before he saw it. I don't think I could ever work in a job where people or animals die or are in pain. I'd never stop crying. So your name is on the rota more than the rest of us. Hmmm, wonder how that happened. Mouse plants? I've not heard of them. Will have to go and search for them. Your bungalow looks lovely and the garden. I've heard of a few people moving in to park homes. They really like them.

Barbara, good job you got the bottles ready. All these animals are very hungry. I don't know if I should worry about my eyes or not. I was reassured at the hospital so wondering why I need to go back. I won't worry too much. No point unless there is something to worry about. Hope you and OH enjoyed your trip out.

Toni, I think it's a good idea for the tapirs and lambs to stay babies. Hope you enjoyed choir practice. Your sister lost 8 1/2 stone? Wow, how fantastic. She must have had a lot of willpower. Hope you managed to convince Tia's grandad to get the stair lift. Better that than going in to a home. He'll want to stay independant as long as possible.

Joan, hope you are doing well and managing with your hopping.

April still hasn't given birth but it looks as if she might have gone in to labour. I've taken a couple of pics. Will post them in a minute.

evening to all - hope everyone is as ok can be. It's still warm tonight, no heating on at all, since this morning I think.

Thank you for saying our home is perfect, it certainly suits us down to a T. As park home owners you have as many rights in law as you do for living in a conventional house, there is no time limit. The only thing is, you don't own the land itself. There are sight fees, quite pricey, but well worth it.
Of course, you own the park home. It is just like any property, you pay your council tax etc etc.
The park is a mixture of residential park homes / lodges and static vans, that have a 50 week season. They cannot be sub let and you have to be over 50 to buy a park home.

The gravel is limestone, so it does have a bit of a blue tinge, even more so when it is newly laid. Yes, it is peaceful, the only vehicles are the people who live here, so hours can go by and no one passes by.
Everyone looks out for each other, (some are nosey lol) and help each other.
A lot of people seem to be choosing park homes to retire or semi retire to. I know ours has nearly doubled in value since we moved in. Hot property :)

You must try and get a mouse plant. They are wonderful, a type of Arum Lilly. http://www.bethchatto.co.uk/a-b/arisarum/arisarum-proboscideum.htm
We got ours some years back at a local nursery, we had never seen the like before.
The flowers are the meeces :) This is one place that sells them, they seem to be like hens teeth.

    https://www.pottertons.co.uk/pott/browse.php?folder=312

Hi Christine - I am glad I am not the only one who was glowing today. Steady on, hanging out of the windows.
No, I didn't manage to clean the chair, after Pepe's indiscretion. OH had already sat in it, so it was quite a to do.:lol: :?

Is my name on the rota, over and over again? Of dear, I will add everyone else to the list, for feeding the babies. They will remain as babies as long as they are in the cafe. Toni will be thrilled I know.
Definitely look out for a mouse plant. They are lovely, all winter they hide in the moss (they seem to like moss on the top of the soil), then suddenly all the meeces start appearing in Spring. The leaves come out and it grows quite big like a cushion shape and you have to peep inside to see the mice.

Try not to worry about your eye appointment, I am sure it will be a double check, just to make sure. I am the opposite, I worry for England

Love the pictures of April, thank you for posting them, she does look a little rotund, so let's hope baby appears very soon. I guess the vets are there 24 hours a day, they would need to be.

Toni I hope the singing went well at choir practice. Rev Delphine must be well on the way to full recovery now.

Joan I hope you are not too uncomfortable and managing to get about ok. Take care.

Kerrin I hope you are ok, busy with school and many activities, hope you are not too tired.

Elizabeth, sending hugs, I hope you, Dan and Lucy are all ok. Did you manage to get anywhere with the change to the school bus route.

Mig, I hope you are ok too.

    Everyone else as well.

We are out for coffee and scones today, seems ages (three days  ) since we were there. Will see Mum n Dad, need to check all is ok as Mum has had to start on insulin in the evening as her BM is sky high (due to her diagnosis). I was going to go give them for her, but I wanted her to take charge of it and get used to giving herself the little injection. I am sure she will be ok and they know we are only round the corner if they need us. (they bought a single unit park home, a year after we moved to ours, they say it is the best move they have ever made :)

I have rabbited on enough now, everyone will be bored to tears.
    N night XXXXX Aidan

I have the oven on and croissants are warming inside - thanks for those Aidan :)

I was introduced to Park Homes when one of best friends had one - I always felt like I was on holiday, but I feel that in all bungalows anyway :) They are very much sought after here too as retirement homes. I must say there were one or two nosey ones there too ;)

Those mouse plants are lovely!!!! Diddicat would be eating them  I thought proboscis was a word for nose...that would also make sense as it looks a bit like a tapir's snout!!

All did indeed go well at choir practise and our neighbour came :) That's the lady with the pressure sore. She stayed in bed longer in the day and had her PJs on under her jumper and blanket - no-one knew except us 3 :) She used to be a music teacher so can sight-read.

I have fed the Tapirs and lambies :)

Your home looks lovely! OH has done a fabulous job outside especially when you look at the 'before' photos :D You should rightly be very proud of yourselves.

I am the same with pots everywhere :) Does the gravel crunch satisfactorily when you drive in?

Diddi said Pepe won't admit to being greedy, but he was apparently in her opinion. I think she will still be a bit jealous (only child syndrome) of the babies - she drags me off whenever there are visitors!!

At the moment I can only post 2 photos?? I used to be able to post 3 per post????

Christine April looks lovely :) bless her I love them!!

Yes for some reason Aidan is on the rota rather a lot :? mmmmmmm........ did he write the rota by any chance?

Barbara is now officially in charge of bottle-making up.

My sister has a lot of willpower and NO gastric band or anything. She just starts by moving....then cutting out total rubbish up to now where she cycles and can run and do yoga etc.

I am pleased she is asking for a 2nd opinion and not worried as it's for the summer not next week!!

Barbara I think the Park Homes are safe just like having a lease-hold property really.

I wouldn't be wary. They are far more reasonable priced than bungalows with all the benefits and are warm too :)

I see you made up today's bottles already and labelled them beautifully.

Joan I hope you are doing well and are not in too much pain.

Hi to Kerrin and to Carol. Love to Elizabeth and mig and anyone else I accidentally missed

Welcome home Joan, it's good to have you home and back in the cafe.

Better sling me a bottle. We have another Derbyshire lamb, I hope you don't mind this one has 5 legs. The owners initially called it Forrest Gump, but then thought you can't call a Derbyshire lamb forest, so renamed it.
