Hello Christine Aidan Toni Barbara Kathleen and anyone else I missed
Christine I just think this has to be done then I can have a mug of coffee.
Aidan we have a raised bed in the garden fox's have had their babies in it.
Toni pepper finds a rat about twice a year. yes you looked relaxed in the spar.
Barbara I hope you have had a good day.
Kathleen i'm sure your friend will be pleased to have you to talk to.
don't forget to put the clocks on an hour tonight.
take care all

Oh no. I took too long to post and got logged out. Let's see if I can remember what I said.
Aiden, sounds as if you and OH have been very busy. Hope your backs ease quickly. Still no baby giraffe. They can be in labour for days and no-one would know then suddenly a baby appears. I definitely think we need that pram in here.
Toni, Lucy's room looks lovely. Wow that bump is big. Didn't feel a thing with my eyes. They put drops in to numb them. It was my cyst they could have anaesthetised but didn't as there would only be a little scratch with or without.
Barbara, April the giraffe does find it difficult getting up and down at the moment. They give birth standing up so it's a long way down for the baby. It does put you off when you get a meal you don't enjoy.
Kath, at least someone in here isn't pregnant. Sorry you're feeling queezy. Hope it eases off soon. There are 4 of us who share a drain and it is always getting clogged with baby wipes. Only 1 family has small children.
Joan, how wonderful to have foxes giving birth in your garden. Thanks for the reminder about the clocks. Must do it before bed.
My son picked me up at lunch time and we took my youngest GD to Noah's Ark. It's run by woman in a church hall. There is a big climbing frame with lots of different types of stairs going up and different slides coming down and a trampoline and ball pool. There are little push along motor bikes to ride on. The next room has a toy kitchen, tables and chairs, lots of dressing up clothes and many more toys. Another room is set up for small babies. Outside is a small climbing frame, more ride along toys and a house with an upstairs. There's also a cafe. Only £3.50 per child and they can stay all day if they want to. I think it's amazing and all run by woman on her own.Christine0 -
I am not sure I can "spring", but I will try :?
Evening / morning, whatever time it is, we have altered our clocks so I am even more confused than ever
It has been a lovely day Barbara, I was napping when the sunset was happening, but we do get some wonderful ones shining on to Pendle Hill.
We will take turns pushing the pram. Can we not get a motorised one, that runs on GPS.
Yes, bad backs are a certainty in Spring, everyone out in the gardens and doing too much. OH is well dosed with co codamol and brufen, so feeling not too bad at the moment. We, I say we, will not put the ground weed stop sheeting down until Monday, give his back another day to ease up.
We do indeed have arms and legs that do as they please and not what we want them to do.
So the curry was not very nice, where was it from, or was it homemade. We have not had one in months, mind you, we have not been to Mark's for nearly two months  I know, shocking, but we can get everything we need at Sainsbury's really.
The staff will wonder where on earth we are.
Foxes having their family in your raised bed, how wonderful is that Pepper the rat catcher, two a year is bearable, but I still would not be able to pick it up.
We will all be on duty, under the cloak.
Yes, all clocks forward already. Love to both and to the doggies, hope the boiler is working ok
Oh dear Christine, I didn't know it logged you out if you were too long in posting. Sometimes forum's have an auto save, not sure if the mods can see if this one can, but we could ask
The poor Giraffe, imagine if you were the keepers or the vets, I would be hairless by now. I do hope things go well, for Mother and baby.
Shared drains are a problem sometimes, and wipes are the bane of drain people's lives. The baby wipes and most anti bac wipes, do not dissolve like paper, or the paper based sensitive bottom wipes :? . People do shove nappies down loo's too, quite why I have no idea.
Noah's Ark sounds great fun, very reasonable and well done the lady or ladies that set it up and run it, all credit to them. I hope you all enjoyed the time there, GD especially.
Kath, I hope you are feeling less queasy, extra hugs, as always.
Kerrin I hope you and yours are all safe and sound and school is no doubt as busy as ever.
Elizabeth, sending lots of hugs and well wishes, hope you are all ok, Dan and Lucy too.
Toni, did you have a curry tonight, or was that the other night, I do forget. Pepe says hi to Diddicat and I say hi to everyone
Mig I hope all is well, busy away, hope the food inspection is all paying dividends.
Carol, trust all is ok with you and yours, knitting all finished, or is it out of the window
We are off to the garden center for brunch, with Mum n Dad, will have to get their early ish, or it will be PACKED to the rafters with it being Mothering Sunday.
Love to all, better move, pepe has pinched my gel cushion and I am on the dining chair with no extra padding, apart from my own lol.
Happy Mother's Day to all Mum's - some pancakes for breakfast

Good afternoon everyone
just popped in for a quick browse as I am going out very soon to my stock car farewell meeting to the stadium before it all finishes and it is knocked down to be rebuilt only as a football stadium to many peoples disgust. my daughter paid for the ticket for a mothers day present. I am also meeting up with family there who are coming up from Somerset so we can sit together so it should be fun. I will read all the comments since my last post as it seems the café has been busy and a lot has happened since I last looked.
Happy Mothers day to all the Mums on here have a great day
love to everyoneStay positive always👍xx0 -
Afternoon to one and all. Happy Mothering Sunday to all Mum's XX
Hope everyone is having some good weather, bathed in sunshine here, so curtains shut   :sun:
Hi Carol - I hope you have a wonderful time at the stock car race. A shame they are tearing it all down, for a football stadium. I am not surprised there has been some grumbles about it.
Enjoy your day with the family. Good to see you
Don't worry about reading back too far, I always used to get in a pickle.
We had a lovely brunch with Mum n Dad at the G Center, we got there in good time, as it was soon super busy, with lots of people sat outside as well, (no thanks, I am wrinkle phobic, I don't do sunshine) 8) I had a veggie breakfast, two mini English for Mum n Dad and full English for Will. Oh and then was a greedy guts and had a scone. Well, there is a lot of calcium in butter. :?
OH back is improving and half the lawn is covered with weed stop, just need another roll or two tomorrow, before the tons of gravel arrive on Tuesday. Next door sent a text and said he would be around to help in the afternoon, which is very nice of him.
Now just chilling out a bit, sorting a little washing and drying. Pepe and Cookie say hi, Pepe is practicing his stretching, whilst cooking in the sunshine.
and Cookie is being too posh to even look, lol
Bless her she is only a teeny tiny girl.
Right, it must be getting to T time. It won't let me post any more pics on this write up. But T is served, with fresh cream scones.
Everyone take care XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Joan when I am having an op or whatever I think of what my late mum would say it will come and go...we did have a nice day thankyou...hope you and Sue did
Christine ...the poor giraffe...hope it comes soon ..did you see the Chester zoo one it was touch and go but then all was well and mum started to feed it..how good the play center sound..and run by one lady she deserve the money for all she has put on .nice to have a cafe to chill out..

Happy Mothers' Day to all the mums. Hope you've all had a lovely day.
Aiden, I've not seen an autosave on here. It would be useful. I'm usually ok if I just get on with posting but occasionally get distracted. Hope you enjoyed your brunch today. Lots of calcium in butter? My bones will be strong then. Hope OH doesn't do too much and hurt his back again. Good of the neighbour to say he'll help. Lovely picture of Pepe stretching. Wish I could get comfy in odd positions. Beautiful Cookie looks comfy.
Carol, I hope you enjoyed your day at the stock car racing. It would be good meeting up with family. Don't worry about looking back. There is often too much.
Kath, what a jolly song. I was nodding along to it.
Barbara, no I didn't see the Chester giraffe. I did see an elephant on the zoo programme on just now. It was the mother's first and when the baby was born, she ran off (as far as she could in the pen). The baby was completely still for a good few minutes. Once it stood up, the mother came back and was very protective after that. How lovely to get the windmill off Niamh. I got an orchid too.
I had a lovely lunch with my son and his family at my DIL's parents house. My youngest GD had made a card for me. My son had to sneak it to me as she didn't want to make her other grandma one. I don't know why as she loves her just as much. We played cards on the floor. Feeling a bit hurty now.Christine0 -
Kath that's a great song. I used to say mi duck quite a lot, having spent most of my formative years in and around Nottingham.
Hi Barbara, you have had a busy day, with family, G Children. It is good that our computers and phones know what day and time it actually is :?
I don't blame you for not going out, it was very busy, good job we landed at the GC early enough to enjoy a coffee, before we ordered brunch.
I have told Pepe and Cookie that they are gorgeous, but I am not sure they were listening :animal_busy:
Glad your OH went to tell the restaurant that their food was not up to par, I would not go back there either, vouchers or not. If somewhere fails, then they do not get business again, not that I am fussy, much :?
Lovely of Niamh to wish you happy Mothers Day, lol, bless. I am sure the windmill with lights on will be lovely in summer in a sunny spot.
An orchid as well, they are wonderful plants, some stunning flowers on them. Dad likes them and has a few, well, too many really.
Hi Christine - I meant to ask about an autosave, maybe Sharon will pick up on it. (Hi Sharon )
Good that your bones will be good and strong, like ours, with all that French butter, just cannot resist. Naughty I know.
Pepe does get into the most awkward or positions, which look so uncomfortable, but, obviously not for puskins. Cookie is a little darling, apart from when she is screaming at her baby (a soft toy). She sounds like a seagull  Siamese are vocal and then some.
I think, well, I think I would run off if I was Mummy Elephant, giving birth to a huge baby  Good that she was ok and took control of looking after it. They stick very close to their Mothers for a long long time. Wonderful animals.
Glad you enjoyed your lunch with your Son and family. So you got the "special" card, lol. Children are funny, fancy not wanting to make one for other Grandma.
Playing cards on the floor, ouch, I would still be there, trying to get up.
Short and sweet tonight, I am a wee bit jaded and pompholyx has come on in leaps and bounds today, like a thousand pin holes in my finger ends  I am armed with creams and potions, so I will wage war at it.
Hugs and Hi to everyone else.
Take care XXXX Aidan
How cute IS this picture. (don't show diddicat).

I love the ickle meeces Aidan!!
My posts from yesterday evening isn't on here  :? I wonder what I did wrong. Without doubt it will have been me
I had enjoyed Kath's music.....admired Aidan's pusskins and Pepe's yoga stretches especially.....Barbara's Windmill....sympathised with Carol's stock car track turning into a football pitch and was relieved that Joan's rats are only delivered a couple of times a day. They are rather large compared to my twice daily meeces/voles.
Sorry everyone!

Hi Barbara
I am very thankful to Sue for updating us about Joan. Knowing Joan she will recover as fast as she can.
Thank you I had a lovely Mother's day. Saw my MIL with Tia (she's her Nan, not the others') and had vouchers for my fav garden centre. Chocolates and flowers from Charley and Lucy and Charley's gf and they cooked my dinner too
We might need a photo of that windmill.
Paul and I did a little garden tidying yesterday too. I used to be out there 8 hours!! Ah well.
We can still enjoy the garden from inside.
Love to everyone

Evening all
Oh my they say to keep as active as you can to keep mobile but Arthur certainly don't like us being active the pay back today for the last few busy days has been something to be believed but was all very worth it and things are back to the normal activities I do so can rest a little now. however it has been a very enjoyable period of time especially last night at the stock car oh so many memories my first time there was at a speedway meeting at the tender age of 2 with my dad I apparently cried through the whole meeting and he said he was not taking me the next week, but I wouldn't let him go out of the door without me the next week and I enjoyed it from then on and in later years when as a member of the St John Ambulance for 38 years until I retired from them I did so many first aid duties that it seemed like my second home for many years. It was also a very proud mum moment last night as I watched my daughter who is still a member standing on the centre green when they did a special grand opening parade at the start of the morning. have taken a few photos but am unable to post some of them onto facebook as I would like to do because they are showing the st john members and they are not allowed to be shown in photographs in uniform without the permission of the organisation. all too much red tape for me   . its a shame because last night would have been good publicity for them and the organisation as a whole.
Hope all you Mums had a good mothers day I certainly did. there has been a lot going on in the café since I was last in with the antics of the pussykins, Joan's operation hope she has a speedy recovery. Windmills that light up bet that looks lovely Barbara.
Rats and meeces about I cant stand either, and many others that I have read and forgot about brain not as good as it used to be. Christine the stock car was as I said above fantastic I enjoyed the evening very much even having to swallow my pride and ask my cousins wife to help me back down the stairs twice as they had no handrail until you were half way down from where we were sitting I was ok going up but coming down was very different  . but she didn't mind as both my cousin has parkinsons and their daughter has cerebral palsy and they both had problems with the stairs and needed help from her too so she understood.
well must be off as I have sat too long and am now getting a bit stiff so need to move.Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Aiden, I didn't know Siamese cats were any more vocal than any other cat. Then again, I don't know much about cats. Hope you've been feeling better today.
Toni, another post gone. I thought it was unusual for you not to pop in. I think we are automatically logged out after a certain amount of time. Sometimes it does take a while to read through everything. We could do with more time. Well done for getting some tidying done in the garden. I've only done a tiny bit.
Barbara, I haven't seen the post about Joan. Will pop and have a look in a minute. Yes, you're right, I do keep all the cards from the kids. I've got a small suitcase with my own kids' drawings and paintings.
Carol, it is difficult being active all the time and, as you say, we have to put up with payback. I do think I would be worse if I didn't keep going. How lovely to have all those memories brought back. And how wonderful for you and your daughter. Such a shame you can't post the photos. At least you have got them to look at. It scares me going downstairs without a rail to hold on to. There's no shame in asking for help getting down. Your cousin obviously didn't mind at all.
Don't know if I mentioned it but I got some new windows in last week. I used the same company who did 2 upstairs ones a couple of years ago. Those ones have proper window sills. The ones they put in this time don't have window sills apart from one. So now all the back ones have no sills which is fine as they all look the same. At the front, 3 have sills and one doesn't. I phoned up to ask why they were different and was told that the new one with the sill was because it had no brick sill. (The others do have a brick sill.) I've told them I'm not happy with one odd sill at the front and was told it would mean taking the window out to put a sill in the odd one. I don't know what to do now so might ask an estate agent how that might affect things if I decide to sell. I can imagine someone saying they won't give me the asking price as they'll have to replace all the windows to make them the same.
Don't know what was the matter with my boss today. I was ironing and he came past, popped his head in to say hello and waved at me. Just seemed a bit strange. He came back later and gave me this week's wages as they are away the rest of the week so that was a nice surprise. I usually have to wait till the next week. Then his wife popped her head in and asked if he'd made me a cuppa as he'd made one for everyone else. He hadn't. So she made me one and said it was shocking he'd not asked me.Christine0 -
Evening to one and all, after a chilly start, the day turned into blue skies, but not too warm
Your post vanished Toni, oh dear, gremlins, we will blame gremlins.
Pepe was doing his best sunbathing pawlatees
I am so glad that Sue posted too, Joan was in my thoughts today, and it was good for us to be under the cloak and with her in spirit.
You had a lovely Mother's day Toni, with flowers and chocolates and vouchers and dinner to top it all. Very nice, I will be down country to go the GC with you, for a coffee and a natter
OH is just about recovered, ready for the 5 tons of chippings to arrive today, (Tuesday). Next door said he will help and his step Son and the man over the road said he would help too. OH is only going to do what he can do and not knock himself out. All the ground sheeting is down ready. The teeny bit of lawn at the front is still there and he cut that today, so we look smart again.
I used to look after the garden at the Rectory, it was HUGE, about two acres. The lawn was like an all day job. I didn't mind, Mum and Dad would potter and sort out the borders and I would be whizzing up and down with the mower.
Hi Barbara, you agree that it is gremlins, little terrors they are, someone has been feeding them after midnight. Not me :?
I am with Toni, we need pictures of the Windmill, all lit up, sounds lovely. Thank you, the puskins are all nestled in their respective places and fast asleep. They are all gorgeous and totally spoiled.
I did sleep ok last night and at nap time on Monday. I think I am on top of the pompholyx at the moment, armed to the teeth with cloboderm and diprobase, I am like a slippery eel. The pin holes have closed up and finger tips seem to be mending. It's a nuisance........
It is certainly everyone out in the garden time, your OH is busy as well, most people around and about have been doing one thing or another, no wonder it is bad back season. I just make T and give lots of encouragement Some lovely big Bumble Bees about, they love our miniature cherry tree which is in full blossom.
Hi Carol You certainly have had a great time over the past few days, wonderful memories to look back on, from a very early age. 38 years with the St John's, way to go Carol. All credit to you and to them, they do a fabulous job and no denying.
Payback is a """"" ooops, I nearly swore then. Hopefully things will ease now that you can go at your own pace and recover gently.
There is no shame in asking for some help with the stairs - If I have to do stairs, I always have to come down backwards, then, if I did slip, I can land on the stairs and not go head over heel. I have had some funny looks, but I normally just say "you would do the same if you were in the same pain love" :x
Hi Christine - oh yes, Siamese are the noisiest puskins I know of. They demand attention and will scream at you and answer you back if you take no notice.
I have felt a bit more human today, thank you.
Yes, I remember you mentioning the lack of the window sill. Mmm, not sure, it might be worth having the window taken out and the sill putting in, it should not take them long, or cost much I wouldn't have thought. Your mind would be put at rest I am sure.
How kind of the Boss to wave at you  I think. lol. Were you stood a long way from the door, then receiving your wages on time, rather than having to ask the week after, as seems to be the norm. Then a cup of T from his Wife, shocking indeed, if the kettle is on, then it is a cuppa for everyone, no omissions. I hope she told him off.
We went to the GC for a coffee and scones, we will give it a miss for a few days now I think, I am logged with coffee after two trips in two days.
At home today, with the gravel being delivered around lunch time.
Like Carol, I am setting into a chair shape.
Joan I hope you are resting well after your operation. Sue, take care, thinking of you both, along with all our forum friends.
Loads of hugs to one and all. XXXX Aidan

Toni like you love my garden ..and yes we can enjoy it form inside or outside when its sunny...lovey that Charley Lucy and Charleys GF...bet you enjoyed that..and all the pressies..I will get a pic of the windmill...means so much more that Niamh choose it..she is convince there are fairies living in it..
Christine I can understand your worry ..people that5 buy these days are so picky ..ask Toni ..hope the remove it and put one in with a sill..I had to laugh at your boss waving to you..and not making you a drink..but at least you got your wages ..most important..
Aiden glad you are feeling a little better..the pompholyx sounds horrible ..glad the creams are working..you do have your fair share of things..yes my OH was holding his back..and to cap it off her doesn't like gardening bit loves to look at it..bless..so all go today with the gravel ..so glad you have help ..what lovely neighbours..can we have a pic when its done..

Gravel arrived, now the hard slog begins, no sign of neighbours yet, but OH is pacing himself.
Gardens are lovely to look at when they are done and yes Barbara, I will put a picture on when it is all smart. I am sure we will need a few more tons   The aim in the long run is to have minimal maintenance.
Hoping that Joan is on the mend, it will be sore today, usually is the day after.........sending many hugs. Hi to Sue and the doggies. :sun:
Hi to everyone else as well. Not sure if I will get back on until late. Have to keep making sure OH is ok and supplying T and cigs

I was under the cloak, but you didn't see mee. You would have heard me though, I fell asleep cos I snore. Sometimes. I've been using my salt pipe. It's usually the time of year for me to get a Pseudomonas and/or pneumonia, so keeping my Bronchietasis under check. Hence the snoring. So I hope all went well for our lovely Joan.
Did the Sawley trail this morning. My it hurt. Came home and had a nap. Felt muchly better. So I think I'll scoff a few of Aidan's left over cakes. I know there are some because I took a doggy bag.

Thank you Barbara, the digger will be very helpful. Neighbours appeared and 90% finished, OH can sort the rest himself. In shower, washing lime off, nasty stuff.

Evening all
Busy day today here so I am very late on.
Good to see our Joan looks like escaping tomorrow all being well.
I will air out the cloak ready for next time.
Aidan I really hope your OH is ok that was a major job for him to do even with all the T and **** breaks.
Daisycat has been over today and brought some (gravel not **** unfortunately - I gave up  ), back for her litter tray so sorry if you are a bit short
Apparently Pepe was doing his pawlatees again
Thanks to Sharon for looking into our lost posts. I'm sure mine was my own fault I probably went off the page too quickly
Barbara I hope your OH is ok too and if he isn't that you don't catch whatever it is :?
Kath you really are being amazing doing that walk and please don't worry about the snoring we don't mind
Love to everyone sorry this is short I am wrecked

Aiden, glad they managed to get most of the chippings down today and OH didn't do too much. Hmm, I wonder who has been feeding the gremlins. Perhaps there was some leftover cake which wasn't put away. No, that's a silly idea. There would never be any cake left. Glad the pompholyx is clearing up again.
Barbara, I'd like to see a picture of your windmill. I'm sure there will be fairies living in it. Hope you had a good trip out wherever you went.
Kath, hope you don't get the pseudomonas or pneumonia. Hope you're ok after your trip out. I'm sure the cake would have helped.
Ellen, thank you and Sharon for asking the techies to look in to our problem of losing posts.
Toni, hope you are resting up after being busy. Don't do too much. I see Daisycat has been stealing Aiden's gravel. I'm sure he won't notice.
Joan, hope you are not in too much pain and will be home soon.
One of the rhinos on Secret Life of the Zoo is taking 20 paracetamol a day for his arthritis. Not only us who get it. I want a tapir. They are lovely and like nothing better than to lie down and be stroked. The mother tapir had a serious condition which was getting so bad, she had to be put to sleep. All the keepers were there stroking all the tapirs at the time.Christine0 -
Evening to all, hope everyone is as ok as possible.
Hi Kath, I hope you can keep any nasty infections at bay. I have not heard of bronchiectasis for a while now, I remember one of the pharmacists had it at work. It does leave you open to infection, just by the nature of the disease, widening the airways. Let's hope it can be kept under control as much as possible.
Don't worry about snoring, I snore like a saddle back piggy. We had plenty cushions under the cloak, so we made you nice and comfy, slightly propped up of course.
You enjoy the cakes and doggie bags are always available.
So you think we should have a hot tub installed in the garden now then Barbara. lol. Not sure how I would get in, I suppose I could throw myself in and then be hoisted out on a block and tackle. :?
It is 90% finished outside, the neighbours did help a lot. Just one corner to cover now, but there is plenty of spare where the gravel is quite deep. (Even after miss Sleek has "borrowed" some for her tray )
The flowers look very nice and I am sure Joan will appreciate them when she comes home tomorrow, yippee.
Thank you for airing the cloak Toni, not easy to wash, as you would never find it again in the washer. A good blow in the wind and some sunshine will keep it nice and fresh.
Hope you have not overdone things today, not that you would of course :? :? I have a sneaky feeling in my bones that you have.
Miss Sleek was very quick in getting the gravel, in and out in a flash, while OH was having a cuppa and ciggy I would suspect. Indeed, Pepe was doing his pawlatees again, in the sunshine - they he got too hot and had to sit on the side in the kitchen to cool down.
At least the lime has been well washed off the gravel, it absolutely poured down at t time, the Heaven's really opened.
Take it easy today, hope Lucy is doing ok with her physio, I am sure she is progressing very well.
I don't know who fed the Gremlins Christine, as you say, there is no cake left out and the tins are Gremlin proof. It sounds as thought the forum wizards are going to see what they can do to get rid of them for us.
No, we didn't notice the gravel going missing, Diddicat was very quick indeed. Pepe put her up to it. They are a pair.
Oh bless, poor Rhino having Arthur, they would need a big dose of paracetamol, weighing about a ton or more. I like Tapir too, poor thing having to be put to sleep, I would have been bawling for England. Any signs of baby Giraffe.
Well, I had better make up a fresh bed on the ward and ask Hattie to come in for Joan coming home. Let me go see if there is a little something for her bedside table.
I had better move, many hugs and everyone take care. Mig, Kerrin, Elizabeth, Carol and all.
N night all. XXX Aidan
