Afternoon to all - just a quick visit, best laid plans of mice and men. The day has vanished, ironing has not been done (sorry Toni), will be later in week
I will reply later, when I have a bit more time. Leaving hugs to one and all. Hope all is ok with Christine, it has been busy under the cloak, we will soon have you home.

((())) Kath, it is so difficult when you are faced with this news.

Must away, I am all at sea. :?

Phew, what a long day. Apart from now being well travelled, 8 bus journeys each about half an hour long, I have had numbing drops in my eyes and drops to dilate my pupils, eye pressure taken with what looked like a big ball point pen touching my eyeball, a bright light shone in my eyes and a scan in the morning then, in the afternoon, examined, ultrasound scan then stabbed and then squashed again. The hole in my retina isn't a true hole. It's actually a membrane which is forming over the retina. The doctor isn't worried about that at the moment but wants to check it again in a year. She would only operate to remove it if my eyesight got really bad as there is a chance I would lose my sight altogether. My wavy lines are being caused by the nerves in both eyes being squashed together. Again nothing to be done. The cataract is so small she wasn't going to mention it but I asked about it. So I'll just have to put up with the blurriness I guess.

The dark shadow they found on the mammogram was a cyst and it was drained there and then. Had another mammogram just to make sure and all is well again. The doctor did ask me to stop wriggling but it wasn't me. I think you lot were getting restless under the cloak. And it was difficult trying to explain all the cake crumbs on the floor. Thank you all for being there and to Aiden for supplying breakfast and lunch.

Aiden, glad there have been no more hypos. Yes, sometimes it would be lovely just to sit in the GC drinking and eating and people watching all day.

Toni, I wasn't worried today as I hadn't noticed anything myself and have been twice before with lumps, one of which was a cyst and the other was just normal getting old lumpiness. The idea was to have just one small tub of ice cream at the weekend but I'll probably want more or eat them during the week.

Sharon, I'll head over and have a look at the link and see if I can add anything. Thank you for the clementine pudding. Yum yum. Hope you and the team are as well as possible.

Joan, I hope you are not getting cold when the heating goes off. Does the thermostat need to be up a bit? So Pepper finds rats. I hope you don't get them as presents.

Kath, sorry to hear about your friend. You must be very upset. I suppose it's a good thing she is not scared of dying but I can imagine how worried she must be for her family. (((hugs)))

Barbara, good for you emailing about your ice cream. Why not if it's your favourite. Did they get back to you? Pregnant? I think we've done our bit but no harm in letting them think that. Might hurry them up to get the rum and raisin back in. A nothing day is fine. Most things can wait till you're ready to do them.

Kerrin, glad all is well with you. Wow, the school is only a mile away. Hope you weren't all too upset by what happened. You are always busy so just pop in when you can. As long as you are ok.

Evening to one and all - one of chasing your tail days.

Hi Toni, sorry there are not photo's of his Lordhipness, the ironing board never materialised, but it will, fear not, so Miss Sleek will have a peek at his board gliding
Indoor sunbathing is a must for all puskins, following the sun round is instinctive.

Glad the furniture arrived, not good that Paul has pulled his back - take care

Thank you, Mum and Dad are doing ok, Dad drives us nuts, but that's Dad, Mum is a trooper and no denying, given her diagnosis and prognosis.

Christine certainly had a day and a half, so glad we could be there, in spirit and thoughts, under the cloak, with half a ton of food to keep us all going - well, it would be no fun running out of supplies.

I am glad you have a vacuum for the fish tank, getting into the real muck in the gravel  not something you would want to syphon........

Hi Sharon, I will certainly have a look at your post and see if I can add something to help, might take me a while to get there, but I will. Thank you for the clementine cake, it looks AMAZINGLY good

Joan, I hope you are ok and the boiler will behave itself and keep you warm. Pepper hunts rats, eeek. I remember you said a while ago that a rat had been caught by Pepper.

Hi Kath, I am sorry to hear of your friends Sisters diagnosis, such things are totally devastating. I remember when they told us about Mum and her prognosis, I already knew what they were going to say, but never said anything, it wasn't my place. Dad was angry, others were upset, the calmest person was Mum, she was fine and said, right, I am coming home, let's get on with it.

The Dr will give a prognosis based on experience and general statistics of the disease, but no one can determine exactly how long a person will live. It sounds like the lady has come to terms with her illness and as you say is not afraid. Naturally she will be concerned about family life as the time comes. It might be good for her and the family to talk to McMillan or Marie Curie nurses, they are SO good and so helpful. Sending an abundance of hugs

Hi Barbara, we do have the BEST cafe in the world and the finest cakes and snacks imaginable.
How strange about mentioning breast cancer in men and then your friends Son having had surgery for it. I hope he is clear and remains so ((()))
That's ok if Mark's think you are expecting  I am about to write to Baxters about their tender baby beetroots, that are as hard as nails.

Hi Kerrin, I am so glad to hear that you and everyone around you is safe, after the terrible attack at Westminster today. What a terrifying ordeal.

Oh Christine, you have had the longest day. I am glad we were all there for you and all those bus journeys, you will need a large cup of T and several cakes, to revive you. I think there are some left, I know we made a bit of a mess with crumbs.

The Dr just wants to keep a check on your eye, in a years time, at least you know what it is and what they can do to help if needs be.
It is difficult with Cataracts, they are normally left to "ripen" before they will remove them, but it was worth asking for sure. The wavy lines must be horrid, sending hugs.

Then we were all off again to the next appointment. A cyst and it was sorted straight away, which is good (not that you had a cyst), but that they could sort it while you were there.
All in all I think at least two portions of ice cream are required after your travels and hospital visits.
Get some rest, you might well be aching head to toe today.

I was saying to OH the I have god nothing done today, but, we did have our hair cut, I was junior stylist and pretty good I am too :D Mine was hardly in need of doing, but I said, well, while the clippers are out, pretty please.
Washing done, drying done, cats all ok, dusting, neighbour came round again for another natter. That put lunch back a bit, so I was wound up about that. In the scheme of things it mattered not.

Off for a pootle out today, not too far, just a ride out, maybe a bite of lunch wherever we end up. I cannot sit for long, so our journeys are never far afield.

Hi to Mig, Carol, Elizabeth and all.

After the terrible events in London I think our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been killed or injured and with their families and friends. What a dreadful chain of events.

    Good morning everyone.

Aidan 100% my thoughts are with the families of those injured or killed in London :( So sad. I am hoping the bloke was a random idiot and not part of a terrorist plan.

Another haircut? you had yours done with Barbara and me about 2 weeks ago, but the clippers were out as you say

We can all wait another day for the gliding photos. I will need to iron today myself when I get 5 minutes. Choir tonight and I have yet to learn the songs

Enjoy your pootle about I hope you don't have our rain

Kerrin I am so glad you are ok! Please take care today although I am sure there will be a reassuring police presence there. ((()))

Christine I am sure the eye doc knows best and at least has explained it to you, the tests didn't sound great or much fun :? I have to admit I looked away at this point myself  At least you will be monitored that is the main thing.

Sorry about the wriggling it wasn't me....well it was, but only trying to settle the cats down  I am so VERY glad that it was a cyst all treated on the spot and re-tested so you know you are safe :D

Thing is about the tubs of ice-cream.....don't they 'call out' to you? They would to me

Barbara I will have to try to get a photo of the hoover thingy it's so cheap it's well-worth it :) with the magnet to do the sides and water changes I am usually able give my fish peace and quiet except ATM while I am preparing the newer big tank :)

All ready here for Joan's operation cloak laundered and waiting.

Kath I am so so sorry to hear about your friend's sister :( she will have strong faith so will not fear death, but I can see why she is concerned and caring about her family. If they are all JW they will have their faith too. ((()))

RATS??? Joan Go Pepper!! do they survive?? I think it's a good thing they catch them really. Not sure the heating is quite right yet :?

Sharon thanks very much for the cake...there was a tiny piece left for me for....breakfast!!

I will certainly look at the survey.

Afternoon to all - bright sunshine, cool breeze, perfect spring day

Hi Toni, sadly the IS terrorist groups have said it was their doing, the carnage in Westminster. We do live in such troubled times, but our stoicism will not be beaten down.
Aii, another hair cut, happy boy :) I think I should be promoted to senior apprentice stylist now, after 17 years !

choir tonight, very nice, best get singing those songs, we don't want you all at sea when the choir tunes up. Hi to Rev Delhpine if you see her, from Matron, the Rectors Son :)

Our pootle ended up at a antique / collectible warehouse, it is huge, we have been before. OH pushed me round in a wheelchair, then left me in the cafe and he went off to view all the other areas. I sat and had the most dreadful filter coffee  oh it was like ditch water.

I was all sat out by the time he came back, I said, head home, we will go our Costa in town, for an emmentall toastie and PROPER coffee, which we did. Emergency, give me proper coffee, thank you.

I thought it was your good self, wriggling, but I know Pepe and Miss Sleek were wanting to explore

Things call out to me too, I can hear them singing from the fridge, chocolate (which is only really there for hypo's), I tend to have a sneaky portion at night oooops.

Hi To Lucy and I hope Paul's back is feeling better ((())) Pepe said he has been skyping while we were out and Miss Sleek was impressed by him clicking the new carpet whilst gliding !!!!

Hi Barbara, oh and you wanted the loo under the cloak, what with the cats messing about, Toni wriggling and me trying to stop the crumbs, it's a wonder the Dr didn't hear us.
Thank you, I like the in house/in cafe nurse. I do my best to helpif I can and I always think of everyone fondly.
We did have a cake a lemon muffin after our toastie, it was very nice indeed too.

Hi Joan, I have not had time to write to Baxters, but I will do later, I cannot eat musket balls. :o
Oh, rats being flung round by their tails, I would be off like a shot. Well done for him being a brave boy and getting them. Cats tend to avoid rats, they give off a scent apparently that makes cats docile - I was amazed, how clever animals can be.
Hope your heating behaves, we are all ready for the 27th, the cloak will need a good airing and maybe a steam clean, but rest assured we will be there with you. ((()))

Kerrin, i hope you are ok and all the school is too. ((())) Hi to Mig, Carol, Elizabeth, Christine ( I hope you are resting as much as possible hun).

OK, Time for T, some cupcakes to enjoy this afternoon. Take care, stay safe XXXX Aidan

Aiden, dad is driving you nuts? Mine is driving me nuts too. Went to visit him in the care home this afternoon. He complained he'd not seen any of us since my brother's wedding 4 years ago. Wouldn't believe me that the whole family were together 3 weeks ago, I visit every week and my sisters most weeks. Complained he had nothing to do. I suggested reading his book (not his thing), write in the book I got him (he doesn't do writing), come out for a coffee with me (why? He can get a coffee where he is), go for a walk (quite happy sitting doing nothing) and on and on it went. Not his fault, I know, with him having Alzheimers, but it is hard work at times. I think your mum is very brave being calm. Not sure I would be. You're not pregnant as well are you, wanting baby beetroots. Yes, I did have ice cream when I got home yesterday. Only 1 pot though. Sounds as if you've been quite busy today, hair cuts, washing, drying, dusting. Yes, I think everyone's thoughts have been with the people of London today. Don't know what the terrorists expect to achieve doing something like that.

Toni, did you manage to learn your songs? Hope you enjoyed singing tonight. So it was the cats fidgeting under the cloak. Maybe they were worried they'd be tested too. Glad you've got it ready again for Joan. Yes, tub of ice cream called out last night and another tonight. Hope Paul's back is easing now.

Barbara, it didn't hurt having the cyst drained. Just a tiny scratch as the needle went in but then didn't feel a thing. The eye test didn't hurt at all. Just found it a bit difficult keeping my eyes open as I was tired and my eyes felt irritated. And it was you wriggling. I'll let you off. If you need to go, you need to go.

Joan, not long till your op. Just a few more days. I'm glad the carers will be around to help you as well as Sue. I hope the rats Pepper catches don't bother you. Think I'd shriek if I saw him swinging one by the tail.

My boss and his wife were away today but their son and his girlfriend were there, still in bed, so I couldn't get on with what I wanted to do today. Did extra ironing instead. I've had gum ache this afternoon so don't think it was really a good idea to visit my dad. He was in a fairly good mood but nothing seemed right, as I was telling Aiden. Dentist next Wednesday so hopefully I will get something done about my wonky tooth.

Aidan you are so busy you don't have a lot of spare time.
Christine I have to pick the rat up I put some kitchen towel over him then I put my hand in a plastic bag and pick it up. I cannot leave it there because pepper would have it again if it's a big one I get a neighbour.

That's is lovely Christine, good to see you :):) Inspirational words from the how to guide and from yourself. You must be very pleased. All credit to you.

I am glad you had ice cream, you needed it and deserved it. Sorry about us all fidgeting  :?

Poor Dad, I can totally understand, my late Mum had Alzheimers and was in full time care, she used to recognise us, know our names and would sit with us and liked to hold hands and look at pictures on my phone.

She would always ask OH about his Mum and Dad, sometimes remembering their names. Then she would look at me and ask me how my Mum and Dad were, bless her - talk about swallowing hard and carrying on. It is very difficult, people's moods change, they can become labile or angry, disinhibited, depressed, so many changes from the person we knew so well. Sending hugs, I can share you concerns.

MIL is a Saint, as nothing is right for DIL either, ever, at any time.

I don't know what these terrorists wish to gain, fear in all of us I am sure, well, it won't work, we will go on about our business and stand strong as a nation.

Good that it didn't hurt when they drained the cyst, once the lignocaine is in, then it is usually quite straight forward. I bet your eyes were sore and very very tired.

So you had to be quiet at work today, with the youngsters all abed. I hope your toothache goes soon, I see you are off to the Dentist on Wednesday, hopefully it will be sorted asap.

I hope I am not pregnant, lol. I do have cravings for gherkins and pickles though :?

Oh Joan, you are very brave, sorting out the ratties. I don't blame you if it is a big one, I would call the neighbours as well   I would be shrieking, with Christine.

Toni, I hope choir practice went well.

Kerrin Mig Elizabeth Carol and all, hope you are ok and keeping safe.

My extra tramadol are sending my typing to pot, so I will have to say n night.

Everyone take lots of care, love and blessings XXX Aidan

What a week. Had to have the drains cleaned AGAIN. Leaky pipe yesterday. Had to pay part of the council tax as our benefits have changed. What with the terrorist attack, and finding my friend's sister's death is sooner than we'd hope. I hope I can be of some comfort to her, as she is an atheist and finds no comfort in the bible. Her dear sister has been very ill for a number of years now.

Joan, I think you are brave picking up the rats, even if they are covered. I've picked dead birds up with the brush and shovel. I can't bear touching dead things.

Aiden, the first time I saw someone with dementia was my ex-mother-in-law. I hadn't seen her for a few years and had to call at her house. She kept telling me her husband was upstairs and wouldn't come down until I'd gone. He had dies a number of years previously and she lived in a bungalow. There was always one of her 5 daughters with her but she told me these people kept coming and going and she had no idea who they were. At least my dad knows us all still. Is lignocaine an anaesthetic? I didn't get any. The doctor said the needle was just the same as the draining needle so couldn't see the point in using both. It was only a slight scratch. What a beautiful picture with the heart balloons. I love it.

Toni, you're not pregnant too. Aiden is craving. Glad Paul's back is ok now. My computer was playing up earlier but just for a few minutes. Ok now.

Kath, do your drains clog up a lot. Ours do. They aren't deep enough. The money the water board have spent sending people to clear them over the years could have paid for new ones. It must have been a bit of a shock having to start paying council tax. I'm sure you will be of great comfort to your friend when she needs you. Hope you have a better weekend.

Barbara, it's been lovely here too with the sun shining. I think you did mention your dad had brain tumours. Isn't it strange how things can affect a person's brain and so their personality. Glad you enjoyed watching the wildlife. I've been watching a giraffe online who has been just about to give birth for the last fortnight. Wish she'd hurry up.

I had a lovely slow walk round town after work and a slow walk home. It was warm and sunny. I meant to phone the people who put my new windows in earlier in the week but only got round to it this afternoon. The 2 windows I got a couple of years ago have proper windowsills. I got 5 done this time - 1 has a proper windowsill and the other 4 don't have sills at all. I can't understand why they are different. The man I spoke to said he'll ask the men who put them in and let me know on Monday.

Good evening to one and all - hope everyone is as ok as possible, after a lovely sunny day.

Toni, I am glad the choir practice went well, another song to learn and yes, Palm Sunday for the 9th April. That will soon come along. I used to always play for Easter Services, the hymns were very uplifting and the lovely organist who taught me (had passed away) and everyone said they could hear her playing through me - amazing, sorry, I am digressing.
How lovely that the lady and her husband can sing in the choir. Even though Mum was confused to time date place, if she heard hymns being sung, she was away, word perfect.

Bubbles, pregnant, is there something in the air  :? Cravings here and there..........If I am, I will be uber rich and famous lol.

Good to hear that Paul's back is a lot better, hope Lucy is doing well with her exercises and coming on leaps and bounds.

I think Miss Sleek visited while we were in the garden, she must have popped in through the lounge window on the other side. There was a lot of fur on the carpet, so gliding had been going on.

Hi Kath, you have had a week and then some, with the drains needing sorting, leaking pipe, then getting a higher bill for the council tax. I know Mum and Dad IL pay very little as they are on pension credits. We get a little knocked off the yearly amount for the adapted bathroom, apart from that we have to pay almost full price. as I get my NHS pension.
I am sure you will be a great comfort to your friend, just being there and offering what support and help you can, is all you can do.
There is nothing wrong with another person praying for someone else, no one has to know.

Hi there Barbara - we will indeed have the cloak ready for Joan hospital visit and operation. I think Toni will air it this week end and make sure it is all fresh. I won't pack as many baskets of food this time, we made such a mess in radiology.
There are different levels at that antique place, I only do the ground floor in the wheelchair, by that time my back was screaming, hence I was in the cafe (which is open to the center so you can look around) - I had to take some tramadol and vile coffee was the better option. We have been there before and had T, but it had a green tinge to it.
The lady looked after me though, fetching milk and napkins for me and carrying the "coffee".
There are stairs and ramps, but I have had enough and OH can go off at his own rapid pace.
After all that, they have moved the disabled loo's to the farthest corner of the place

It was good to get into Costa. I thought that picture was lovely too, yes, it would look nice on a wall.

Glad you enjoyed the wildlife watching. We love watching the birds around here, there are so many with the woods being so close.

hi Joan, thank you we have had a good day, OH has been preparing the side lawn, (only small), ready for the gravel to be delivered on Tuesday. He moved one raised bed and sorted out lots of the pot plants. It will be so much better when it is gravelled, more beach style. At least we will be able to sit out and enjoy it, the grass was always soaking wet, even in mid summer.
I did try and help hold some bags open for him to transfer some soil, but I caused more mess than enough, so I came in and made cups of T.
You have a good week end too and enjoy the nice weather.

Hi Christine, I hope you are recovering from your marathon bus and hospital trips.
Dementia is a cruel disease, so many people I have nursed have had some form of dementia, but it is so different when it is your own family.
A lot of people become very restless and want to be on the go all the time, thinking that they have to be going somewhere to do something important.
Yes, lignocaine is a local anaesthetic, you did well and sometimes, bu the time you have had a few injections of local, the whole procedure can be done and dusted with one needle.

Good that your computer is ok now, just a little glitch, as they all do, from time to time.

Has the Giraffe still not given birth  It seems a long time delivering. I am sure there are vets on standby 24 hours a day.

Let's hope the window people sort out your sills, you normally get new sills when they put new windows in.

Well, I had better move, time to potter a little. Hi To Mig, Kerrin, Elizabeth and everyone who is not around at the moment.

Take lots of care, keep safe. XX Aidan

Oh, some pastries for breakfast, they looked too good to pass by.

    Oh lucky me - there's a pastry left!! :D

Thanks Aidan You have been busy haven't you? Oh has been even busier  By the heck he has enough energy for the pair of you!!!

I think you garden will look lovely gravelled and very beachy :)

Yes the patches of fur are a good indication of gliding. Pepe is teaching her in his 'Gliding masterclass' :D She's lost yet another collar if you see it....pink with Princess on it

I am trying to upload some photos of Lucy's room and me in the Jacuzzi at the spa the other day....

    th_20170324_091534.jpg

The cloak is aired and ready for Joan's hospital trip. It was FULL of crumbs!!

Hymns are embedded in our memories from Church and school aren't they? I think this will be less so in future though sadly.

Last night we had Red Nose night at the Shed and The Rev Delphine was there, much more comfortable with her elbow and bless her thrilled to bits I have joined the choir. She isn't giving the Palm Sunday service sadly, because of her elbow even though she wanted to.

We won the raffle too!! A basket of fruit :D

Christine! I am pregnant!! Look at this - me in the Spa!!

    th_20170322_142132_001.jpg

Was it painful - your eye? I supposed the anaesthetic needle going in would be the same :?

Shame about your Ex MIL horrible when people go like that. I just hope she wasn't in a state of anxiety.

The walk will have done you good I think. As for your windows I would have thought they'd have sills too :?

Joan I also heard we are in for a good weekend :) Daisycat brings gifts (of love  ) most days, but If I am clever I can mostly keep them outside the bungalow!!! How often does Pepper bring you rats?

Barbara it's sad that the tumours made your Dad say and do awful things. That must have upset you all very much :(

I love antiquey places too, but have to agree they can be hard work physically :?

My big tank is now about 1/3 full so soon be ready to start heating up and filling with their bits and pieces :)

Kath whether the lady is an atheist or not you will still be able to comfort her, just by being yourself. Don't worry it will help her a LOT.

    Drains eh? How annoying :x

    Right must get on!

    Love to everyone missing

    OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

I am definitely NOT pregnant. In fact I think I'm losing weight. I'm finding it difficult to eat and feel frequently queasy. Oh there go me draws again.

Toni they told us our drain was too shallow too. But we have a shared drain, so we never know when it's going to get blocked, or by whom. :?

Went to LE again this morning. Beautiful day. :sun:

Aidan, when did you get your Inspire? I haven't had mine yet. :(

    :running_dog: :running_dog: :running_dog: :running_dog: :running_dog:

I hope to be under the cape for Joan.

ok Kath, we will count you out of the list of suspected baby boom. We will leave it to inflated costumes, cravings for beetroot and gherkins and ice cream that talks to you from the freezer :lol:

Hope you stop feeling queasy, not nice at all, could it be medication? They, as in GP, can give things to stop you feeling  I always have maxalon tablets in stock, for times when the pills just make you feel just horrid.
Sending extra hugs. Steady with the drawers, if they are anything like mine they have a mind of their own......... :?

Toni, was there only one danish pasty left, ooops, I asked pepe to bring some in this morning, he did bring rather a lot.

OH is in recovery mode today, with a very hurty back. I am dosing out the pain relief and the shiatzu massage machine is busy away, kneading. My back is screaming too, but that's normal

I love the pics, the furniture looks lovely and well, the inflation is well, quite voluminous :lol: :? The same used to happen with swimming shorts, they would inflate.

Pepe is very skilled now, he goes from lounge carpet, then to bedroom carpet, to do all his gliding. He said Miss Sleek is doing well and is on her way to her first award. Pink collar, will keep an eye out for it. Princess, well, nothing less would do.

I agree that hymns will be almost forgotten in future generations. Very sad.

I am glad to hear that Rev Delphine is feeling a lot better and you all enjoyed your red nose night in the shed. And you won the raffle, way to go :)

I was going to iron, but no way can I stand in one place and I am way way too hot at the moment - it is only March and I am melting.

Hi Barbara, you think it is twins, well I didn't like to say :D:D

Yes, I loved playing the organ, I even used the pedals as well, if I was feeling extra brave. Getting two hand and two feet in the right place at the right time, was a challenge. I find the same problem now, but for different reasons. :?

No, the coffee was vile at the antique center. It was wet and just about warm, that was its only saving grace. Hence the reason we had to have emergency coffee's at Costa when we got back to town.
The garden will be lovely when it is all done and sorted. Oh cannot do any more today, he has to recover. It will be nice to sit out, we need new garden furniture, so this is a perfect excuse for shopping.

    Right, back again, more tramadol.

I cannot sit her much longer so I will move about a bit and potter. Hi to Mig, Carol, Kerrin, Elizabeth and all. Time for T and cake I think. Later, good people XXX Aidan
