I owe you all an apology. I was making butter and lavender pats and got them mixed up. So we have lavender butter too.
Have any of you seen the BBC advert for iPlayer, with the talking dog? I love him. Makes me think of Miss Slimkins and Lord Pepe.
We got our washing all dry out on the line. It was painful pegging it out, but we managed it between us. And what am I doing now. sitting in the sun? Nooooo, indoors on my laptop!! But the door is open.

Carol I hope your hay fever is not too bad. yes there are some lovely people a bout.
Aidan the gas man came fitted the new bits we did not have the heating on so the rads still don't work he is coming back he had to go to Bristol. I hope you have had a good day.
take care all.

Hi Everyone, sorry, I am too hot to type, someone has cranked up the heating - 32 degrees, oh my days.

Evening. A good day at the cricket. Prince Charles made a brief appearance and despite losing a group match my little team got to the final.
A bit weary tonight .....and hot.

Also having problems with hay fever but taking antihistamines makes me too tired.

Evening to all, oh boy, it has been THE hottest day this year, by far.
I am slightly cooler, the AC has been on full, for the last 7 hours. It has taken that long just to bring me out of the melting pot.
Hi Toni, I hadn't realised how pertinent the verse was, I did good there
It was a terrible accident, looking at the car, or what was left of it, the poor souls. Our neighbour travels to Stoke quite a bit as her Son is with his girlfriend there. There was another accident a little while back that cased major tail backs on the M6, wonder if that bit is an accident black spot.
Pepe would love to see Miss Sleek in her Angel Puss finery. I am sure she looks adorable, bless.
He did say it was nice and cool up in the skies. A broom gel cushion, I think that would have to be bespoke, not that he is fussy at all.
He decided not to go out today, as we had to go out and everywhere was shut up and shielded from the sun. We were out a while and it was hot when we got back. The car said 31 degrees   We had left two fans on.
They were all just dozing :animal_busy:
I think cats can slow down their metabolic rate and keep their body at a fairly even temperature, slow breathing, very little movement.
Thank you for watering the warthogs, they seem very happy, up to their tusks in mud, nice and cooling. Of course, Barbara did all the bottles, goodness, glad you remembered.
I am sure Rev Delphine would have loved a nice natter, but often difficult, when others are around. Dad was often the first person who was called to some very sad situations. I knew a lot and never said a word, being a Vicar's Son, one had ones council to keep.
There is a lot of good in the world, more than we realise as it often goes unnoticed. The silent givers, the listening ear, the shoulder to cry on, being there, being still and quiet with someone.
Well, seeing as it is today, Obviously Aidan,  Lucy will be able to use her new shower. She will love it I know.
We will have a party when Barbara and Carol get back from their days away
Hi Kath, lavender butter, well, no harm in trying it. I thought it smelt good in the fridge
The lavender pats are in their own special fridge, I think some cool ones will be very much appreciated in this heat.
No I haven't seen that advert, I will hunt it down and have a look for it Kath. Lord Pepe, lol. He is sat on MY gel cushion, on top of the air conditioner, watching me type. I think Lord Pepe suits him down to a T.
It was too hot today, for brooming, I don't think Miss Sleek came over, as there was no evidence of gliding, clicking, or litter throwing. Too hot.
Hope you are not too hurty from pegging out the washing. It will be dry in no time. I have put ours on the airer, no way is the dryer going on, blowing hot air, no, I don't think so. I will tumble them on cold when they are dry, just to get rid of any floof.
Hi Joan, hope you, Sue and the lovely doggies are ok, not getting too warm, I bet your boot makes your foot very hot in this weather.
And so the radiator / boiler saga continues, I think you need a whole new system, from start to finish. Who can we write to? I am poised with my pen.
Hi Kerrin, thank you so much for posting the picture, it is lovely, how proud you all must be. Getting to the final, that's amazing. Way to go team Kerrin
I can imagine you are a bit weary, the heat does not help. Sleep is often difficult enough, without being in a lather.
Hi Barbara, that's ok, you can grumble, I was thinking of you today, "I bet Barbara is melting". You are not alone hun, is seems to be nation wide, from northern Scotland down to lands end, hot hot hot.
I am glad you are feeling a bit more settled, the police are doing a sterling job.
Yes, there was a minutes silence nationwide, for those who perished in Manchester.
Enjoy your holiday, today will be hot, then I think thunderstorms are on the way on Saturday, then cooler, hoorah.
Well, I had better have another potter. I am getting hot again.
Hi to everyone who is not around at the moment, stay safe, take care one and all.
XX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Not sure we will be going to the QE for neurology.
Lucy is too scared after this:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/major-uk-hospital-placed-lockdown-10501895
Also it's Gay Pride this weekend with 1,000s upon 1,000s arriving. Charley was going, but is leaving it this year.
Do you agree we shouldn't go?
I found this out after choir last night when I got in. Oh and they locked myself and my neighbours in at the venue (we were up at the disabled part and do take time getting gone). Good job I was there as the lady's husband had to scale the gate and walk to get help. She would have been on her own in the vehicle otherwise.
Joan I do not know where the years go. I hope you don't need your heating on ONE day you will be sorted I hope.
Kath I am 100% convinced that the cats do indeed chunter on like that when we can't see them Great advert!!
I had one of those lavender pats and wondered why it was so greasy!!!
It was too warm to be out for sure yesterday.
Aidan no way were they flying. Skyping and that was it and probably will be today
Cheeky Pepe half-inching the gel cushion AND aircon!! Diddicat has just grabbed her broomstick and is popping over early just for a quick hello in person. She said they missed each other yesterday. Bless.
the shower room is FINISHED and looks great.
I can now.....guess.....clean to my heart's content!!! are you coming to give me a hand??
Yes that part of the M6 is notorious I always have my heart in my mouth going North there.
I had the air-con on last evening for Lucy - don't want any issues with seizures. Not sure, but once or twice they do seem to have connected with extreme heat. Once her room is cool I open our bedroom door too it's almost bearable then, but she is priority.
Now downstairs.....where her 'suite' is...is cool so cool....sigh. She'll be fine there.
The hose is on for the warthogs and bottles all made up labelled and in the fridge.
The rev and I managed a good chat yesterday morning and put the world to rights. She is really a lovely person.
Ice cream you say? Darn good idea
Kerrin what a fabulous photo you must be so so proud What an amazing memory
Please stay safe.
Barbara no shower yet - I must clean Aidan ought to help me really he's the expert!!
I hope you are ok and not too wilted
How lovely a minute's silence and how appropriate too.
I bet Carol is loving having Gkid cuddles
I hope Christine isn't working to hard in this heat :?
Toni xxx0 -
No Toni, not after reading that news, I think another time. I was thinking of you today and felt a little unsure, not super scared, but as if something was amiss.
Another time, another day, is the feeling I get.
Hi to everyone, sorry, I was carried away, it's the heat. Although I am parked next to the AC, which is struggling to cope at the moment. Better in than out, but you have to have a window open to vent it.
I am surprised that they are not postponing the Gay Pride venue. Not that we should be living through fear, but, given the past few days and the terror rings that they are desperately trying to untangle. Anyway, I hope all are safe.
You were locked in at the choir practice, oh my, good job he was there to go get help.
We were off to Skipton to meet up with Aunt and Uncle, but they rang and said can we make it another time, when it is less hot. Aunt is not a well lady and like, she wilts in the heat. We didn't want to leave the cats too long, so we didn't mind at all.
We did pop into Clitheroe, went into Nero's, had two coffee's and scone, leaked like a sieve, went to Tesco, bumped into Mum n Dad, then came home.
I think Miss Sleek had been over, there had been gliding and clicking and gel cushion bouncing. I know she didn't stop long, it was pretty breezy, so the landing on the roof was a bit hair raising apparently. :?
If the shower room is finished and you are free to clean, I am on my way, cloth in hand, just as long as I don't have to do anything below knee level, I will be fine. You have AC down there, so that's even better, cool and clean, perfect.
Glad you had a good natter with Rev D, I am certain she is just lovely
Extreme heat is a no no, my Cardio always says don't over heat........right, ok, so I will live in the car It can bring on seizure, as it can with young ones, when they get a fever.
The zoo animals all seem pretty happy, Blush has had an ice cream, well, most of them have, apart from the meerkats, they said it wasn't warm enough for ice cream   well, I guess compared to the plains of central Africa, it is quite cool. 8)
Right, time is marching, pills done, just need to try and cool a bit more before trying to nap. Sleeping last night was more miss than hit.
I will pop back later, when it has cooled, marginally.
Love to all, take lots of care and stay safe. Loads to drink sorry, Matron talking, not me XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Thanks Aidan All has been well, but we were just too anxious after last night on top of worrying anyway.
Charley and her friends aren't going to Pride this year either. It is still on though :?
Diddicat nipped over again first thing because it has been too warm in the afternoons...she says. Apparently it's cooler up there. She's brought a tin of tuna  Well there's one missing.
More dirt-gliding this afternoon bless her
I could happily have got in the mud with the warthogs today.
Aircon is on and soon the door will open to cool our room down too for bed.
Rumour has it the weather is breaking tomorrow.
The Rev is actually FROM Manchester by birth.
I was with them at choir they give me a lift and I help load and unload my neighbour she is the one who has bad RA and is a wheelchair user. I don't know how they missed us!!!
She and I put the world to rights while we waited for rescue!!
Thank you for helping clean the shower, but I suspect another deep clean is in order maybe????
I am glad you keep cool as per cardio's advice. Very wise. Lucy seems ok we are keeping her cool as best we can
Right feet up telly on.
Love to everyone I know we are all wilting......
Toni xxx0 -
That's good Toni, I can totally understand your concerns, I think the whole nation has been rocked to the core.
Security is at an all time high, 1500 events are under armed guard this week end, what a logistical nightmare, all credit to the men and women who are working around the clock to protect us.
I am with Charley on the not going, I personally would not want to be in a large crowd of people.
I wondered why there was an extra tin of tuna in the cupboard - Pepe said it was for next week, when Miss Sleek comes over. They are planning a picnic, on Pendle Hill. :? Best be a no fly zone for Saturday, I think we are all in for some heavy rain and thunderstorms. We have a weather warning for storms and lots of lightning
Pepe has been gliding, once more he is on MY gel cushion, on top of the AC.  Bless
We still have it on, down to 23 degrees now, we were up near to 30, so it has done a good job. Park homes are so well insulated, that once they are baked in the sun, they keep all the heat in. :? Nice in winter, but the past 48 hours have been a marathon wilting time.
Bless Miss Sleek, gliding in the dust. It's a puskins thing. She did mention a trip to a zoo sometime   Best be keeping an eye out and I have warned the keepers, that no puskins are allowed, especially flying ones.
Yep, I can come clean again, you can never clean new tiles enough, there is always more dust and grout that you ever imagine.
Rev Delphine is from Manchester, wow, she must feel really upset by it all.
You had good company while you waited to be rescued, I am sure you did put the world to rights, while you were stranded, abandoned no less.
Enjoy the feet up, telly on time.
Carol will be super excited, ready for the Christening. Barbara will be taking in the sea air and hopefully not getting too hot. Kerrin will need the week to recover, I think it is half term now. All the kids in town were in kind of fancy dress, strange.
Joan I hope you Sue and the doggies are ok, no need for any heating, take care and enjoy any trips out you have planned.
OH is busy with jewellery making, I am pottering and just fussing a bit, as soon as you start to do something, you get too hot again.
All the animals are snoozing, all fed, petted (apart from the warthogs, they are not the cuddly kind really) :? The night keepers are ever watchful, with snacks a plenty ready for breakfast. Fruits, milks, bamboo, grubs, hay, veggies, nuts, pellets.............an endless list.
Mum n Dad will pop in today for their coffee and croissants, it is tradition now, on a Sat morning
Then we will watch the thunderstorms and rain, we need rain so badly, the rivers are almost dry again.
Whatever you do, take lots of care, stay safe everyone.
Love to ALL XXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
So true Aidan those words...we do need to do our bit too.
Thank you for helping with an extra clean. Lucy is going to her friend's for the week starting today so we can give it a good 'bottoming' next week one day. It is the grout and then we can put in new towels loo roll holders shampoos and what-nots ready
It's a great shower - you press a button before you need to step in so you don't get wet Titivating!
Well it's raining so no need to water anything today - BIG phew!! I had been planning to get my piping up ready to attach my solar panel to the water butt. Maybe tomorrow?
A picnic would be lovely. So that's what the tuna is for! That explains it. No no flying today even in macintoshes I'm afraid Oh apparently Pepe is after one like Miss Slimkins. Hers is pink he said something about lilac???? Or a lilac and white spotted. He's right they are all the rage. Lucy has a see-through one
We got Lucy's bedroom down to 19 yesterday how impressive is that? Ours probably about 22 tolerable to sleep with only the sheet on.
Yes those park homes do retain the heat don't they? Problem is only in summer in the winter they are cosy which is essential.
I hope Mum and Dad do come over this morning, (and are well of course), - are the croissants at the ready?
Yes Carol will be so exited, but hopefully distracted by the GChildren to cuddle and play with.
Kerrin should be able to have a rest this week. Hopefully sit quietly and rest some of the time. Did she say she had rheumy soon :?
When is Barbara back? is it this weekend or next Wednesday?? For some reason I thought it was a short break :? :?
Kath might not manage the Sawley trail today as it's raining. She can come and watch the zoo instead
Joan I don't suppose you've needed the heating the last few days, but you might today. I hope it's dry enough to take the dogs out. Daisycat has been out super-quick and isn't best pleased.
I hope Christine is ok and has been coping in this heat with working.
Still thinking of those who haven't been able to pop n lately. Elizabeth, Charisse toady.
Love to everyone

Kerrin that's a lovely photo you must feel proud of them you taught them well.
Barbara I hope you feel better after the rest.
Aidan I hope you and your other half and your Mum in law and Dad have a good weekend. and your lovely ****.

Afternoon to one and all - a big thunderstorm has just passed through, lots of rain, now the sun is out and I am boiled. Please can it cool down and rain some more.
Hi Toni Yes, we can indeed, "bottom" the room. We used to do that once a week on the wards, everywhere was bottomed, from top to toe.
We can indeed add all the bathroom furnishings and trimmings, with lots of lovely lotions and potions.
The shower sounds great. Talking of showers, I did have one this morning, but I could do with another. I cannot cool down. Of course the weather said it would be much cooler after the storms, so the AC has gone away.................
19 degrees, that is good, is yours vented through a window like ours.
Oh yes, we are nice and cosy in winter, just summer I don't like. Spring, Autumn and Winter, my fav times.
Mum n Dad did call in, bringing fresh croissants with them. We had them with best French butter and jam, very nice too. Both of them were nodding off, so they went after a little while, so that Mum could have a sleep. Bless. OH had made her a lovely necklace and bracelet, she is made up with them. He is a clever one.
I thought Barbara was away for a short break, just a few days. I am sure it was not for a week. Maybe back this week end.
So Pepe wants a lilac mac does he, he will have even more delusions of being Royalty,  They wear protective head gear though, I was asking him yesterday and he said they do.
I am not so sure the pointy hats are as protective as they could be
Thunder is rumbling again, wind is getting up a pace. Hoping for more rain
Hi Joan Thank you, I hope you have a good week end too. The lovely **** are in a bit of a funny mood, they don't mind thunderstorms, but they get a bit spooked with torrential rain. Hope the doggies are ok and are not frightened of storms.
Hi to everyone else, Barbara will be a bit cooler today, Carol will be in full Christening mode with lots of cuddles. Kerrin, I hope you are ok and getting some rest this week. Kath, take care, no wandering on the Sawley trail if there are storms a brewing
Love to everyone else too, Charrisse, Elizabeth, Mig and all.
Time for T me thinks. Take care XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi Joan I very much hope there are more good people than bad in the world, as Aidan says. Bombing is wicked wicked wicked
Aidan we can have fun after the bottoming can't we? We'll have it so pretty for when she gets home the alcove he made n the actual shower ought to fit gels and shampoos and conditioners too
It's much cooler here now in fact I am decidedly chilly  never happy am I? Ours AC unit vents out of the window too like yours. It works well though and really cools. No need for it for now though.
How lovely of B to make Mum some jewellery I bet she was touched. I am glad they came even if they were shattered!
Of course they were head-gear on the brooms. Never without it also stops their hair getting ruined. Yes a lilac mac and boots to match and probably a sou'wester (which will have his helmet inside).
The picture is adorable the pointy hats also have helmets inside.
This afternoon I had some of the cake with extra cream on. Plenty of extra cream thank you.
Yes I thought t was a short break too :? BARBARA!!!! are you back yet??

Evening to everyone - I thought it was cooler, I seem to be melting still. I am with you Barbara, wilting.
Yes Toni, we can titivate and fuss to our hearts content, might need the AC on (wish we had no put ours away now). I like alcoves in bathrooms, very classy.
You are CHILLY  I am on my way. I think we are just so warm inside, that it takes a day or two to come down to normal again. The bedrooms are not so bad, but the lounge has three huge windows in so it is irradiated from dawn till late afternoon.
It has been drizzling for a while now, getting quite misty. It is cooler out I must admit. I think tomorrow will be a lot cooler, so we will have umpteen windows open all day.
Good to know that the terrible duo have protective head gear under their pointy hats.
Pepe is wellies, lol, he will look a bobby dazzler His Lordship is being a total greedy guts, if he eats any more he will be
Cream is good, I always have it with my scone at the GC now. Try to encourage Mum to eat it (she used to adore it) but she won't eat it now, for some unknown reason. Still mixing up sugars and fats, no matter how many times we explain. But, what can you do? :? :?
She loved her Labradorite pendant that B made, all lovely wire wrapping and the bracelet too.
Hope Lucy has a lovely time at her friends this week.
We were right, it was a short break, I see Barbara has returned.
There you are Barbara, back in the fold.
Glad you enjoyed the time away, but not good that you were wilting as never before. It has been horrid over the past few days to be honest. Some neighbours have been sat out in it all the day long. OM Goodness, I would have had heat stroke. The AC unit has been on full blast until today
Tell us all about your trip, when you have had chance to recover. Sending cooling vibes.
All the animals are fine, most of them asleep at the moment, Blush is up in the bamboo somewhere, having his supper. Lambs, Tapir's Okapi's, Giraffes, Meerkats, Warthogs, Mum and her calf, the chickens, the cockrel...I think we need a list, I am loosing track of how many animals we have
Love to everyone, have a great day tomorrow Carol, hope the Christening goes well.
Take lots of care one and all. Sending lots of lovely well wishes far and wide, catch some XXX Aidan

Morning all
Hi Joan I am sure Lucy will have a good time and we will have a little break from worrying about her. I hope you are ok there and the plumber back from Brighton to fix your boiler.
Welcome home Barbara you poor thing wilting like that I hope your husband got you extra liquids.
It's lovely to have you home and I'm glad you still managed a rest - probably all you could do
Hi Aidan. I know alcoves so posh. It's cool down in the basement no need for aircon. It was dug out of solid cement 3 foot left all around the sides so cool in summer warm in winter. She can't wait to go down there now
We shall make it ready for when she goes down. Off to Dunhelm this morning for towels
Gosh 3 windows in a park home makes for fabulous views and plenty of light, but also the greenhouse effect!!
Pepe will look a proper Bobby Dazzler indeed. I think that's his aim. Funny how they wouldn't let US dress them up, but love it themselves :?
Cream is excellent, but if Mum doesn't fancy all that calcium and protein.....That wire wrapping sounds complicated and intricate, but my mind pictures something lovely....what about posting us a photo?
Christening today for Christine. We must get over to facebook later!!
Right off quickly to turn the hose off  I nearly forgot still the warthogs won't complain will they?
I did the bottles for today, but Barbara is back to help now
Love to everyone

Afternoon, (just), to all. Thankfully cooler today, windows open, cool air coming in, wonderful. I even managed to iron some shirts
Hi Joan, the pus cats, well, Mother (Tosca) is over 17 years, Cookie the Siamese is 16 and Pepe is 15, so they are all of mature years.
Hope you have a good day and can get out and about in the fresher air.
Hi Toni Of course you can have a picture, just a few of the many items he has made so far. I like the tree of life and the wire wrapping is very complicated, but the results are wonderful.
The bracelets, some are wire wrapped, some are chain mail links, which take a long time to do as well.
Our neighbour over the road has put in her order already.
I bet it is nice and cool in the basement, that was some digging out, into solid concrete. Did they have to"tank" it all as well. I bet Lucy cannot wait to go down into her new boudoir.
Long time since we went to Dunelm Mill, years ago. They have lovely housey things. I am sure you will get the perfect towels, to match
If I can search out some pictures, my first Siamese boys loved to wear their jumpers, yes, t'is true.
Pepe is :animal_busy: in fact they all are, I think they are cooling off and recovering, as are we all. He has said no flying today, he will skype Missy Sleekness later on.
I see the warthogs are having a nice swim, they don't mind at all, the more mud and water the better. Water is off now though
Hi There Barbara
I must say the last few days have warn me out. I find it depressing if I cannot get cool. I am not surprised you were nodding off too, sleeping has not been easy since Thursday. Hopefully it will be better tonight.
Ice cream is compulsory, we have had a magnum or similar after supper every night, when they are on offer it is even better.
That is a good price for your new matress, I hope it is super comfy for you.
Breakfasts sound yummy, Welsh cakes, mmmm, eggs, fruits, very nice indeed.
Nothing wrong with riding the train, to keep cool, I would have been with you too.
Armed Police have been at many seaside locations. I don't mind them being there at all, a shame that we have to live with such horrors. Yes, I am sure the Police are stretched to the limits.
I have no idea where all the animals have come from We just keep adopting them. Kath keeps finding them and Toni has found some too I am sure the zoo will continue to grow.
Carol will be with the family at the Christening, lovely, I hope all goes well.
Love to everyone, Kath, Kerrin, Elizabeth, Christine, Mig, Charrisse
Will potter along and butter some bread for sandwiches.
Take care, catch you later XXXX AidanXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

What beautiful creations Aidan. I'll have 3 of each. But I refuse to take responsibility for adopting Warthogs!! I hope all are well. We went to Long Eaton on the bus yesterday, and had breakfast sheltering beneath the gazebo, so we stayed dry. I've been scoffing dairy toffees, so I feel a bit yukky. Serves myself right.

Oh My gosh Aidan they are gorgeous!! I to love the trees of life! He is very clever it must be fiddly to do the chain mail. Lucy has a chain mail bracelet which she adores in a wire which looks like rose-gold - her favourite
Please please piccies of pusskins in jumpers if you can find them
We would all love that. Daisycat never wears clothes unless he has put them on herself. Grrr she says the indignity!!
She is also :animal_busy: we have had sunshine all day so windows are open with mesh frames inside to keep out any midges.
Air-con will be on again tonight I think
The sky is, however a very odd colour.
I got towels facecloths a lovely rubbish basket, loo roll stand toothbrush mug and soap dish. What fun I had
Yes the basement is tanked and is blissful
Barbara if you don't mind could you PM me the name of the mattress when I need a new one recommendation is always best
It sounds like you had a good time despite the weather making it over-hot. Brekkie sounded great as did the trip up the Orme
Are you still making jewellery yourself?
I think all new showers will probably have that button don't you? We need it in the main one too. You get soaked!!
Reassuring having the police looking after you I think.

Love to everyone
