    An early morning to all.

I was just about to write my nightly thesis, when the news flashed up, of yet another terror attack, in London.

To be honest, my blood ran cold. All I can think of at the moment are the victims and the horrors that are unfolding.

I will write later. Please stay safe everyone and take lots of care.

    Love to all. XX Aidan

Me too Aidan. Dreadful and makes you loose faith temporarily in the goodness of people.

I think we need to see these photos of the glorious Farmer's daughter's wedding yesterday. I had a bird's eye view and was outside with my 2 scooter using neighbours on our drive and the driver of the drone filming the event.

The bridesmaids arrived on a trailer pulled by a tractor and climbed down on milk urns!

The bride arrived in a Alvis with her step-dad

    th_20170603_130747.jpg

and the guests were transported up to the farm to a HUGE marquee on this hay truck!

I hope this makes us all feel a bit better.

Is anyone on snapchat - Barbara? Kerrin? Carol??? Because they had their own filter too!! Just for those who know what I mean.

Aiden, I am pleased that all the mess has been cleaned up. What would Lucy think if she saw all the squirty cream all over the shower? Our council are well hassled about keeping the hanging baskets and pots wattered. Even the shop keepers have been asked if they could pop out each day with a bucket of water so fingers crossed. I hope you do get some rain for the duck race. Not quite the same if the ducks just sit there. I’m on Toni’s FB friends’ list if you want to add me.
Toni, thank you for missing me. I think we all miss each other when someone doesn’t post as usual. So glad the shower is all clean again. Lucy would be rather shocked to find cake and squirty cream all over it. It looks lovely. Have you checked the filter to make sure there is no cake in there? Don’t worry about your post. All that matters is that you are all ok. I always wonder what to do if you need to switch off a laptop but it won’t. I’ve taken the battery out before to do it. After unplugging. Not sure that’s the right thing to do though. The wedding sounds wonderful. Love the pictures. You’re right. We do need something like that to keep our spirits up. The farmer must have been up very early to get the cows milked. Wonder if he went back to bed once the milk was collected. Probably too much work to do though. I think it was snapchat my GD wanted me to add but I haven’t been able to do it.
Joan, you are right. They all call each other names. Reminds me of junior school. I can’t believe they sent the wrong part. Didn’t they do that once before? It’s just as well the temperatures are up at the moment.
Barbara, yes we are friends on FB. Don’t blame you not going on. There is so much rubbish to scroll through to get to the things you do want to see. I’ve blocked quite a bit so there’s less to look at. A carnival. I love that sort of thing. We are supposed to be having an annual fayre next weekend but, apparently, the town clerk hasn’t done the legal paperwork so we’re not sure they will be allowed to go ahead with it. Hope you enjoy yours.
More shocking news this morning in London. When will they realise, they might be hurting us but they won’t change us. It’s only pulling us closer together.
Got a call yesterday to say my 13 year old GS had fallen off his bike and broken his arm. He is having an op at lunch time to put pins and a plate in as his radius is snapped and his ulna is bent. My daughter has just told me her two are off school the first two weeks in July. As it’ll cost a lot for child care, she has asked if I’ll go and look after them and she’ll pay my fares. I really want to see them but I’m not certain I’m up to 24 hours of travelling then looking after the kids all day every day then 24 hours travelling back home and straight back to work. I’ll have to use up all my holidays so no other time off till next year.

Oh dear, I had a ramble around Long Eaton inthe sun, then made my way to pet some of our cuties. Guess what, I dropped to sleep with the baby Okapi :!:  I think I kept most of the pets awake with my snoring. Woke up to him licking my feet. :o

Afternoon to everyone, bright, sunny spells and a welcome breeze :)

Hi Toni, it does make you wonder "why". Just terrible.

I think you are right, the photo's are absolutely lovely, the Church looks stunning, the car is fabulous and I love the cart, all done in very good taste.

I am sure Miss Sleek was a little put out by the drone, flying in her territory, how very dare they  :lol:

No, I have never used snapchat, I think Carol has or does? Not sure.

The bathroom is looking beautiful, really lovely, all shiny new and pristine, we like pristine :) Miss Slimkins did a good job helping to lick the cream.

Now for the village clean up and then a 50th birthday party, very nice too.

Yes, I would like to see the pictures of the flowers in the Church, that would be lovely.

I cannot see your friend list on FB, for some reason, maybe FB having a glitch. It said you had no friends apart from me  :?

Hi Joan, nooooo, not the wrong parts, again. So you have to wait some more, it really is beyond a joke. We need to get a bus trip over to sort them out.
You have a good day too, hope you can get out and about, I know there is rain about, making its way north.

Hi Barbara, yes, these doers of evil are sick monsters. I quite agree.
No worries about the mouse plant, let's hope they still have one. We will get you one, by hook or by crook.
Thanks, I will look out for my message, re adding you on FB.

We won a lucky did, oh well, maybe next time - no one won the jackpot or the second prize   Our mansions will have to wait a while. lol.

There are so many jewellery suppliers, very true, he has quite a stash now and has made some necklaces with matching earrings, peridot ones. They are lovely.

Hi Christine - we do need the rain, badly, at the moment the ducks would just sit on the stones and no one would win the race.
We have weather warnings for Monday and Tuesday, for heavy rain and high winds, so that should send the water levels up.

I would find you, but Toni's list says she has no friends, only me, think there is a glitch somewhere. I have a fair amount of friends, but I don't get notifications from most, I cannot be doing with every saying, minion, joke, video, etc etc. Selective, that's my motto.

I hope the Town Clerk gets their finger out so that the fayer can go ahead, I am sure they must have known about it in good time.
I agree with you, they are hurting us, terribly so, but they will not change us. The Police and MI5 so a fabulous job, apparently they have foiled another 5 terror attacks in the last three months, all credit to them and the people that rush to save our lives.

I worry about the big concert in Manchester tonight, but I am sure the security will be like a ring of steel.

You poor GS, needing an op after breaking his arm. It is a difficult one, do you go? 24 hours travelling is a long time, I could not make it.
I know that you would love to see your family and help out wherever possible. It is a big decision to make. A lot to ponder over.

Hi Kath, hope you enjoyed your ramble around Long Eaton, steady away and no payback I trust. Fancy nodding off with the Okapi's, then keeping them awake with the snoring :lol::lol:

It is a good job we have the zoo keepers to help out, when we are not able to pop in as much as we would like. Dr Doolittle said they are all happy and content, loving the food, the fusses etc.

We have had a fairly quiet week end, we had to pop out this morning, just to get some more water and ciggies, I know, naughty.
I think Pepe will be having a day off today, from flying. I think he had too much tuna yesterday, let's just say he had to have a shower this morning and there is a lot of laundry being done.   he was not impressed, well, neither was I. No more tuna for a while.
He is fine now, resting and enjoying the sunshine. :animal_busy:

I will go potter, there is plenty to keep me out of mischief.

Everyone take lots of care, keep safe. Love to all. Until later XXX Aidan

Is my facebook playing up? Oh dear I will have a look tomorrow.

Did you see Diddicat? she's been over they are sorting another day trip out again for this week one day. Pepe said not a word about his disgrace  My lips are sealed. She was scared of the drone it was flying at their height you see.

Joan are you SERIOUS??? The wrong part?? They ought to be ashamed of themselves :(

    Kath
I think the baby Okapi love company so falling asleep with them is fine. Do you snore? I don't believe it....nope!

Christine of course we miss you when you don't post and worry a tiny bit.

I am sorry about your GS I hope he's ok. Such a worry the poor thing. Boys eh?

I agree with you - you can't mind the kids for 2 weeks  That's too much for any Grandparent and you are a working one.

I checked the filter no cake it washed away quite easily after Miss Slimkins did her bit. She is quite thorough.

I just unplugged my laptop and left it on until the battery died....so annoying :(

I'm glad the photos cheered you up. We all hope one of the farmhands did the milking this morning.

It's been a tiring day for me I can't wait for my bed :)

take care everyone and just STAY safe

Kath, you must have been shattered after your ramble falling asleep with the okapi. Was it you who posted on FB about the giant hogweed? We have it all over the place here. Kids used to use it as blow pipes. The council do eventually get round to spraying it but don't get it soon enough.

Aiden, I've had a look for you on FB but cant see you anywhere, not even on Toni's list. We have weather warnings here too. Think I'll need to take some spare clothes to work.

Barbara, wow you are famous. A punk band too. I hope your OH's niece is ok. Some people are really nasty because they feel they are hidden on the internet.

Toni, the church flowers are beautiful. Hopefully it was the farmhand who did the milking and the farmer got a bit of a lie-in.

Carol, another lost post? I always copy and paste my posts now as I've lost so many. Glad you are ok.

My GS's operation went well but he was very sick when he woke up so my DIL is staying with him tonight. Hopefully, he'll be well enough to go home tomorrow. I repotted 4 tomato plants this afternoon. Well that was a lot of work for one day, wasn't it? I had some chocolate cake earlier and a bit of cream left. I took the carton out of the fridge and, just as I was about to take the lid of the pot, I noticed it wasn't the cream but a pot of rollmop herrings. Don't think it would have gone very well with the chocolate cake.

Evening to everyone, well, early morning..............

I hope you GD enjoyed the concert in Manchester, emotional experience I am sure. I didn't know but our Nephews Wife and friend had been, just seen on FB. They said it was a great concert, with lots of tears and laughter too. Glad everyone was ok though.

No, you missed the mouse plant. We will search for another one.

Thank you for your PM, I have sent a friend request, found you straight away :)

The snoring was loud, not knowing that Kath was asleep with the Okapi's. Bless. :?

Now you are famous on Twitter, way to go Barbara. 8) Your street cred has gone through the roof. Love it. No, don't unsubscribe

Thank you for the pictures Toni, the flowers look beautiful.

I think Miss Sleek came over at nap time, there was no mention of any indiscretion. We will draw a veil over it, in case Miss Slimkins reads the cafe posts. She would be as mortified as Pepe was.

Have had another look on your FB, still no friends. :(

Enjoy your rests, I think we are all drained and shocked, yet again.

Hi Carol, I noticed that you were safe, from FB, which was very good news.
Sorry you have lost your post, after a long sit down, we don't want any more chair shapes. Between us we could make a suite.

Hi Christine, good to hear that your GS's op went ok, despite sickness from the anaesthetic. He will be on the mend very soon.

Giant hogweed, nasty stuff, the sap will burn and blister your skin in no time. Have not seen any around here, which is strange, with there being a river and lots of streams.

Re-potting 4 tomato plants is very hard work, quite enough for one day :lol:
Chocolate cake and roll mop herring :mrgreen: that was a near miss, oh, the thoughts, lol.

I must move, back is very shouty at the moment and the Tramadol is making me type gibberish

Love to all, our friends who are not about at the moment too.

All the animals are fine, the keepers are ever watchful and attentive.

I slept fairly well thank you Aidan :) Good poster!!

It's raining finally here. I'm so glad the wedding went off so well before that though :) The flowers were so pretty weren't they? Pom and the Mother of the bride did them together.

Oh BTW Pom's husband only had a monstrous kidney stone to that will be Zapped soon. Such a relief.

Yes I agree no mention of 'the incident' least said soonest mended. I don't think Miss Slimkins reads this. I think she said it was boring. A load of adults talking rubbish  She has her mac and galoshes ready as well as her sou'wester so she may yet brave the weather. I have cautioned against it though.

    Hi Christine!

You need your Macintosh sou'wester and galoshes too today

Can you see my friends list then? Is Aidan visible to you? It is odd sometimes just glitches sometimes our 'settings' are wrong.

I am glad to hear GS is ok if very sick. Lucy does that too sometimes after a GA. Of course his Mum would want to stay there and I hope he gets home today.

Rollmops herrings and chocolate cake? you'd have been sick too

Well-done for potting on your toms :)

We did a lovely job in the Churchyard clear up yesterday it looks ever so much better.

Hi Carol Messages are easily lost, but thanks for being patient and posting quick post to let us know you are ok :)

Hi Joan I hope all is well and you are not cold with this rain and no heating :(

Christine, it would be my husband who posted about the Hogweed, he uses my profile (he doesn't have his own) and posts on the Long Eaton Soapbox page.

Joan. I did wear myself out. I hope the Okapi recovered. Problems with your boiler again? Oh look the weather has turned nasty
again. I hope you don't have to wait long for it to be fixed.

Toni, yes I DO snore, But I don't think I sound like thunder. but I'll forgive Barbara for saying so, as she is so nice. :D

    Afternoon all

Well what can I say about the happenings in London Late on Saturday evening why oh why do people do these things :?: :?: . I cannot understand the sense of it killing people or blowing them up and ending up either blown up or shot yourselves what is the point. surely no religion or faith believes this or condones this as the right thing to do. I despair at what the world is coming to. :( so very very sad. When we were in Ramsgate last weekend we came face to face with armed police in the harbour it quite scary when you see them walking towards you with their guns held ready for rapid action.

I think the reason for my lost post was my own fault as I think I pressed the wrong button just before I went to send it so of it went into the big black void.

Aiden Christine Toni and Barbara Thank you all for the lovely comments on Graycie and Lillies dresses what I liked is that they were both the same. at the Christening itself Graycie wore a long white christening gown and matching bonnet which was Lillies when she was christened.

Toni The pictures of the wedding are lovely and Lucys shower room looks good.

Christine sorry to hear about your GS hope he is feeling in less pain now he has had his operation and that he heals very quickly.

Aiden I don't have snapchat myself it was Youngest GD who was taking all the snapchat photos mind you I do think they are a bit of fun. no I don't fancy walking about chair shaped :lol:

Barbara yes street cred to say the least the things our GC get us doing

Joan think this lost post was my own fault really as pressed wrong button and deleted it just as I was ready to post it  .

Well I had better post this before anything gose wrong with it take care all the zoo inhabitants are all fed watered and comfy love the bush babies. and red panda is getting very very greedy when fruit is about.

    will pop in soon

    love to you all :sun:

Afternoon to all, pouring with rain here, torrential............I did say we needed "some"

Glad you slept well Toni, perhaps the cooler weather and I guess Lucy is back home after a week with her friend.

All credit to Pom and the Mother of the Bride, for arranging the flowers, they are lovely.

Oh my a huge kidney stone, wow, let's get that lithotripted asap. Won't be pleasant passing the "bits" though.......... Glad they know what it is and that they are going to get rid.

Pepe did say that Miss Sleek was coming over, despite the torrential rain, while we are napping. She will need a wet suit at this rate !
I bet he doesn't tell Misstress Slimkins that he enjoyed one of the pouches that had the batch number with ingredients in to make cats love vets :o I was as shocked as he was lol.

I can see your friends list, just me, Barbara and Carol - that's it. I am sure there were a lot more :(

No more mention of roll mop herring and chocolate cake :mrgreen: lol.

I am sure the Church yard looks a lot better. You all do a fabulous job and I am sure Rev Delphine is more than grateful to have such kind people around.

Hi Barbara, glad you GD was safe ans sound, I think it went very well, the concert, over 50,000 people, that's some crowd !!

Thanks for the add on FB :) We are both on Toni's list, but no one else, all her friends have vanished :?

Thank you for helping to feed the lovely animals, I will have a nice quiet wander round this evening, with Dr Doolittle. The bush babies are a fav for cuddles, bless em.

So you might be going to a Goth concert, way to go Barbara, we could all dress up, or down, whichever way.......

Oh Joan, the heating not working again, now that it has gone cooler, you are having no luck at all with the boiler or the radiators. How long has it been going on now, months and months. Shame on the Association. I am sure the press would love to hear about it.

Apparently I snore like a warthog and that was before we had some in the zoo. I don't believe it for one minute. I have asked Pepe and he just rolled his eyes   Warthogs don't snore, they are just grunting a little. :)

    Hogweed is nasty stuff.........

Right, I must away, it is time for a cuppa and some biscuits I think, before naps. Glad it is cooler

Hi to everyone else, Christine, Carol, Elizabeth, Kerrin, Mig, DD and all.

    Hi all

Joan the flowers were even lovelier in really life so pretty.

She came over early between showers poor Miss Sleek then on the way home she got SOAKED Aidan!!!! Why do I have to chase her 'round the house to dry her??

Nothing was said about the poisonous batch...Mmmm Pepe must have been feeling odd. Very odd :? I aksed Diddi and she said Pepe had said not a word about any snoring.

Just looked on my facebook and my settings look ok so I will have to get Charley to help me out. I do have friends honestly!!!

I know Delphine appreciates what we all do she really does. I think the clearer-uppers are a very nice bunch too.

Yes I hope they zap that stone up a fair bit else he'll be in tears   Mind you he had feared cancer so he is actually ok about that.

Carol I want you, and Kerrin and Elizabeth to be extra careful you are all London way I know. Is anyone else??

I have done that myself with my posts in the past, but it's still upsetting.

Thank you the wedding made me bawl like mad all that future ahead of a couple who love each other :)

The girls look lovely in their dresses! I love them when they're little so sweet :)

Thank you for feeding the babies - the panda knows that you and I have plenty of fruit in our bowls I think he can smell it.

Kath yes Barbara is such a nice person I don't know anyone could fall out with her.

Snoring happens probably due to your breathing issues.

The Okapi don't mind they just love attention don't they?

Barbara there is definitely more good than bad in the world we have to hold on to that at times like this.

Yes it was the same lady who gave me flowers she is very talented and owned the floristry in Lichfield for years.

The gardens all need this rain don't they? They will be 'lush'!!

You just need to wear black with plenty of eyeliner and black lipstick/nails you'll be fine. How sweet they would put a chair for you :D

well I hope I haven't missed anyone

    Love to you all

Hi to all........still wet and windy, positively cool :)

I seem to have run out of hours in the day, so I will have to keep things short and sweet.

All our power is off today, from 0845 until after 5pm !! I know, it's a long time, something to do with the electricity board servicing their equipment locally.
So, we are going out for lunch and will head back mid afternoon. No internet, no tennis, nothing, a pan to boil water for a cup of T in the morning, a cold wash..........eeeek.

I will write tomorrow evening. In the meantime, everyone stay safe and take lots of care.

    N Night XXX Aidan
