Evening all.
What a day yesterday it was really cold in the morning when we went out to open morning at the church I wasn't too bad as had thermal vest and leggings on under thee rest of my clothes. but the wind on your face and hands was bitterly cold t110007 and on he way back home we were hit with the rain t111055 which carried on for the rest of the day. today has been slightly milder certainly nowhere near as cold as yesterday. The dentures are a lot firmer and not coming loose but they have caused a couple of ulcers again over the last couple of days I expected that, and know that they will get better. and of course I will persevere with them.
Aidan Well perhaps I should have taken my broomstick and flew up them . still never mind t least now they are sorted. so the pusskins are plotting the catsmas presents are they. Ther will only be three of us too at christmas we has youngest daughter stay for a few days.
Yes money always says goodbye to me.
the church meal was a very nice one some mini pancake things with sour cream and caviar ( cheap one of course )
and little toast things with pate on as a starter. main course was a hot pasta dish with Marinated lamb mixed in . pudding was mince pies and cream. so all very yummy.
Joan as I said to Aidan I could of always used my broomstick.
to say I was annoyed was an understatement.
Toni to say I was annoyed with the dentists was an understatement. cannot understand why they booked that appt if the room downstairs was not available. :? yes a lot more comfy now except they have rubbed a couple of ulcers again but they will go with some bongela I am sure they did before
the meal at the secretary's house was lovely as they have a spanking new kitchen and dinning area all in one it is huge. it has only recently been finished.
Love Mrs Darcy's Christmas jumper.
time again to potter
love and sparkles to all t115006 t4591 t07161Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Hi to all - gentle rain for most of the evening. Better than Sat night when it was beating on the windows t111055 t111055
Hi Barbara - I don't blame you for not moving on Saturday, it was just horrid weather.
I am liking Niamh's style, Grandad, make a bacon butty, then go back to bed, waiting for room service t4591 t4591 Bless her all over.
Santa has been plugged in again and the Elves are safe to come out of hiding.
It felt like a never ending mountain of shirts. We bought 4 more the other day, which arrived the day after, from Premier Man, £8 a pop, so a real bargain, 2 each, perfect. Of course, trying to get the creases out of new shirts, takes a lot of steam. All done though. Happy boys.
Ironing Karate suits, mmmm, a lot of steam too I would guess. I remember Mum pressing and starching Dads Surplus, there was SO much linen and it took her ages to do each one. There were sheets on the floor and wet T towels all over, quite a performance to keep Dads vestments pristine.
No, it isn't awful to say that it is nice to see people, but nice when they go too. We are very protective of our down time, which is not meant to be rude, but, it seems all the more important, the older we get. :? :?
Dinner delivered, very nice, there must be quite a lot, if each one does two people. Come Christmas you will want a bit of bread and jam
Hi Carol - it was certainly wild on Saturday, as you say, icy on your face and hands (my hands are split in umpteen places, always do when they get cold).
Good job you had your thermals on t110007 t111055
I hope the mouth ulcers go away quickly t115006 t115006
You could have borrowed a broomstick to fly up to the top floor of the Dentist. I would have been annoyed too.
( Just an aside. My Cousin, went for a PiP assessment, long time back now, it was on the third floor, there was a lift, but no one was allowed to use it -   She can hardly walk, let alone climb stairs. She told them what she thought and left. They did re schedule, for a different centre ) You could not make it up.
Oh the puskins are ordering things from catazon and catgos, left right and centre _ I think a few things will be going back in the New Year
The Church meal sounds very nice indeed. All in a brand new kitchen dining area, lovely.
I hope everyone else is ok. Toni, you will need some rest to catch up after a busy time over the week end, carols, driving Elves, raising lots of money as well t4591 t4591 t115006 I will leave some sparkles and magic squares t115006 t4591 Just in case there are some ouches. Sleek said Mummy was a tired peeple :animal_busy:
They (Mother Sleek and Mrs D) plan to go up to Pendle today, as the weather is set fine. Mother will be sharing her side car with Mrs D, the big gel cushion has room for two and Sleek loves her flying duties
We are going to the GC this morning, it will be quiet ish, on a Monday. A bit of shopping, think that will be enough. A couple of last minute cards to go............there are always some that you forget.
Right, time to potter again. Leaving lots of love and sparkles to everyone t4591 t115006 t115006 Take lots of care XXXX Aidan

I'm glad the pusskins were fairly quiet Sleek had been warned to be and Mother is good with Tommy (someone has to be). She said Hermione was out with Mr Potter and Mr Weasley.
This morning they were off out early not sure how successful the trip was Sleek flew Mrs D pillion Mother in side-car.
I think Catgos and catazon expect returns in the new year from our two
Down-time is essential I agree if not we would just collapse into a corner like a jabbering wreck
Yesterday was much calmer wrote a few family cards and did us a Sunday roast minus the roast bit :?
Lots of ironing done? Lovely I think those shirts sound a bargain.
As for the Dolly Parton figure I was referring to the chest area
Carol I bet you they wanted to cook for you all to show of the lovely new kitchen!! It sounds swish and mu goodness caviar!! Even if it was the cheaper version nice of them to treat you - shows you are appreciated t4591
I am very pleased your teeth are sorted now and hope the ulcers don't take too long to recover this time. You are a strong woman ad as usual will cope I know ((()))
Barbara all that singing was a bit much wasn't it? My lungs were coughing up all day yesterday to recover!
Niamh is a little character for sure!! Imagine that! Breakfast in bed and not even her birthday
Glad Father Christmas is back on and the elves free again!!

Rang dad yesterday, his heating had gone bozz wonk on Saturday! He'd rung the emergency number and they took his details, but nobody had contacted him by lunch time. Good job he also has a gas fire! So I gave him a quick ring this morning - the engineer came yesterday afternoon and fixed it. He's coming back tomorrow to replace the part in case it goes again.
Anita was fuming.
Toni, I have several regular charities I regularly donate to, I'm always happy to add another. My charities are some health, some wildlife and others pet charities.

Easy Vegan Potato Wraps
These easy vegan potato wraps are perfect for lunch or a meal on the go, and are super fast and easy to throw together!
Prep Time 10 minutes Cook Time 21 minutes Total Time 31 minutes Ingredients Roasted Potatoes 4 Cups Chopped Potatoes Drizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder 1/2 Tsp Chili Powder 1/2 Tsp Smoked Paprika Fresh Cracked Black Pepper to taste The Rest of the Wrap 2-4 Whole Grain Tortillas Mixed Greens or Arugula Guacamole Hot Sauce optional Any other add-ins you like! Instructions Roasted Potatoes Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Wash and dry your potatoes. How many potatoes you need will depend on what size you use - yellow, red, or russet potatoes are fine!
Chop up the potatoes so you have approximately four cups of 1 inch-sized potatoes. If you have a little more or less, that's fine!
In a bowl, mix the chopped potatoes with enough olive oil to just coat them. Add in the salt and spices and mix until potatoes are evenly coated.
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, bake potatoes for 40 minutes, stirring halfway.
Putting It All Together Make your wraps. On a whole wheat wrap, add on a layer of guacamole. On top, add potatoes, greens, and any other toppings you like.
Fold them into wraps, and enjoy!"Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Before it gets any later, I had better be saying hi to all -
Hi Toni, oh the breakfast yummies were very sticky, I had to have a jet wash too, got into rather a mess :? :?
I think the trip out was fine, there was a lot of mists, early on, so a good harvest from all accounts. Hermione was out with Harry and Ron, probably Christmas shopping, the traditional way. What would you buy a master wizard   :? :?
Mother was very interested in a rather lovely card, that came today, thank you most kindly. Lots of sniffs and approval t4591 t4591
We had a tweet from David Emanuel, wishing us many Blessings for Christmas and the New Year. Oh, we mix in high circles you know
New series of SYTTD UK is on in the New Year, Mother was shrieking about it earlier, bless her.
I am with you on the down time - in a corner, like a gibbering wreck, now, that rings a bell   :? :? It is a very thin line...............
I know I am not right and I know the reason. Three letters PIP. The cruel waiting times are just creasing me, physically and emotionally   But we have to carry on.
Glad you had a bit more of a rest at home day, on Sunday, with the roast lunch, minus the roast
The shirts were certainly a must have, very pleased £8, cannot go wrong and they are always well made.
Ah, the chest area, for the Dolly Parton figure, well, errrrm, mooobs, I can confirm, there are moobs   not quite to the extent of the said country music superstar.............
Talking of chests, hope you are not coughing as much today and the inhalers are bringing the singing marathon back to normal.
The winds are picking up again here and a lot of rain forecast for today. We are off to Skipton, with the neighbour opposite, one of their new doggies chewed through the frames on her glasses, so we are going to take her to Specsavers. A trip to Nero's and a little shop, within a short potter of the car.
No market in Skipton on a Tuesday so it should be reasonably calm - he says, hoping.
Hi Joan and Sue. Not a bad week end, we did not go out, with the terrible weather on Saturday and lots of catching up on Sunday.
Sorry you are still not feeling right Mig. It takes a while for any lurking bugs to go, even after a course of AB's. I hope they go very soon. t115006 t115006
It is super tiring for sure. Did hubby come back with the right things, cough syrup, tissues galore, creams. Sudocrem is really good for those little sore bits.
We won't call your Rudolf, promise t7304
Hope you enjoyed your sausage egg and chippies
Hi Barbara - it has been a very pleasant day, a bit chilly first thing, but not too bad, as there were no sneaky breezes.
I hope that I hear about my pip before Christmas, whichever way, at least I will know what I am doing, going on, appealing etc etc.
No, you are not alone, only cups of T are allowed in bedrooms. Mother and her food is the exception of course. At least Niamh comes down for her butty, when Gdad has prepared it. Obviously she can eat anything and not put an ounce on. Not jealous at ALL, much. lke you say, if she is always on the go, burning up the calories.
Mum was always on the go, being a Vicars Wife was no mean feat. I remember someone said, oh, you only work one day a week, on a Sunday - she put them in their place
Hope you had a good time with your neighbour, did you go to the GC.
It was lovely and quiet at ours, perfect for a relaxing cup of coffee or two and a rather wonderful scone with all the trimmings.
Hi Kath, glad that the heating is sorted at Dads, I bet Anita was fuming.  Replacing the part today, just in case it should go wrong again. We need to be warm. Hope Dad is doing ok t4591

We went for a toddle today

a strange sound we heard -
the sound of a donkeys bray!

Vegan hot dogs
t110007 t110007 t111055 t111055 t110007 t111055
12 carrots (go for less tapered shapes if you want have a hot dog shape)
1.5 cups tomato sauce/ketchup
3 tablespoons dijon mustard
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons smoked paprika
3 teaspoons fine salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon chilli powder
A few drops liquid smoke (optional)
2 tablespoons oil
Step 1 - Peel the carrots and trim if needed. Mix the ketchup, mustard, vinegar, soy sauce, paprika, salt, pepper, chilli powder and liquid smoke. Divide this mixture in two even portions.
Step 2 - Place the carrots in a large pot and cover with water. Place one half of the tomato sauce mixture into the water and mix and bring to a simmer for around 30 minutes until a skewer inserted goes in but the carrot isn't super soft yet.
Step 3 - Preheat oven to 180C/350F and line a baking tray with parchment. Add the oil to the remaining half of the sauce. When the carrots are ready in the pot gently remove them with tongs and place on the baking tray. Brush with the sauce and roast for 15 minutes. Turn over and baste the other half and roast for another 15 minutes.
Step 4 - Place two "frankfurters" in a hot dog bun and adding lots of tomato sauce and mustard.
Thank you for asking about dad. Did I tell you he went to one of his local pubs with the Community Centre members for a Christmas Dinner. It cost him £10. A couple of weeks ago he went for a fish and chip dinner with them in Long Eaton. He enjoys his food."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Dosing myself up with anything and everything, on top of all the normal pills, not sure I should mix some of them, but, hey, I do not want this over Christmas week. More grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

We were a fair while in Nero's, over three coffee's and a veggie toastie. One of the coffee's was a decaf, or I would be on the ceiling by now. :? :?
Hi Joan and Sue, hope you are both ok, keeping dry and warm, it is certainly a wet and wild day again.
Kath, you nearly got blown away, which is no surprise. Ah, the donkeys come inland a bit, for the winter, that's nice, hope they have somewhere dry and warm.
Thank you for the vegan hot dogs, they look lovely. I have to feed a cold, so they say.

Hi Barbara I hope you are ok. And not missing Niamh too much bless her. I need her over here this week to help me with my cleaning.
Choir practise Thursday and then we are singing at the next village’s Christmas service on Sunday Christmas eve carol service here in our village. The shed will be open.
Oh Aidan!! How well do cherries go with amaretto!! Yum I will supply the cream of course and try to eat with a fork….
Bless David Emanuel he is a proper star to me. We will be eagerly waiting for the new show in the new year – series link methinks
My friend who had her PIP interview just before you (or was it just after) has had her letter – outcome o…k….reduced mobility so no badge, but better than nothing. She is thinking about maybe appealing. I hope you hear very soon yourself as you say it’s fear of the unknown which makes us s anxious. ((()))
Moobs are not in DB’s league – can’t be!!!
You sound rough – did you catch it from mig? I knew about it as Mistress Slimkins was seen nipping through the gate with Pepe’s Drs kit a basket of assorted potions. I managed to get her to stop and added some parsnip and apple soup (made this evening) and some tissues.
Mrs Darcey can take her own jumper off!!! She doesn’t overnight though when it’s cold she keeps it on.
Glad neighbours specs are sorted.
I forgot to tell you Sleek has two cards on top of her ickle house (Must take a pic) one from us lot and one which came through the post and included a message from Mother!
I hope you get some sleep tonight ((()))
Kath I am very pleased to hear your dear Dad is getting out and about eating well – all good! Now today I did NOT go for a toddle at all you were very brave and I love the apt poem!
As for the frankfurter recipe Kari and I are very interested indeed thank you.
Joan please send me your new email too if I don’ already have it. Hope you are both ok.
Hope Carol is ok today and has less mouth ulcers ((()))
and enjoying a rest from knitting.

Hi to all - this might not be a long ditty.................
Sorry Mig, I seemed to have missed you earlier, I do apologise.
That is lovely to have a visit from one of your friends from the knit and natter group t4591 Of course they will be missing you.
Good that you are not coughing as much - hope you enjoyed the curry, it's horrid when you cannot taste properly and everything is like cardboard.
I had cardboard for supper
Hi Barbara - colds always seem to do that, you go to bed feeling "normal" ish and wake up streaming   :? :? most annoying to say the least.
Thank you for the sparkles, I will put some under my pillows for bed time. I think Sleek and Mother have been putting various potions in place :? :?
I am drinking lots, taking even more Vt C than ever, plus decongestants (which I should not really take with my heart pills - but, needs must) :? :?
I just don't want it to settle on my chest, which it likely will do. If so, I will be off to the walk in at Burnley Hosp over Christmas, with COPD and chronic heart disease, I cannot afford to leave it. Anyway, I am rambling, it might go as soon as t115006 t115006
Glad you had a lovely time with your neighbour, at the smaller GC, busy, but bearable.
Mum was never still, we used to call her mighty mouse.
Hi Toni - That pudding was just wonderful, it tasted of sweet cardboard
I will certainly put the links on to the new series of SYTTD UK with David Emanuel. He is a star, you are quite right. A national treasure.
I am glad your friend has heard about her pip. I would say do a mandatory consideration, where a different decision maker looks at the case and decides if the award is fair.
Not knowing is driving me batty, well, more batty than normal. :? :?
No, the moobs are not in the same league as Dolly's ample bosom.
I have felt better, I must admit. I think I caught it from Mig and Carol, when I was delivering magic squares.
Thank you for the soup, most warming, love love love parsnips. Sleek was over at siesta time, whispering very quietly to Mother, well, most of it was in sign language, all to do with the potions she has brought, that will be administered during the night   t115006 t115006
Aww bless, Sleek has her little cards on her ickle house. t4591 Mother loves her card, I did say we were all included, but she says it is hers anyway, because of the special smells
Mrs Darcey is a clever lady, taking her jumper off in the daytime. Wise to keep it on when it is cooler at night. Mother was wrapped all cosy on her bed, on my bed, at siesta time and she was very comfy and settled. Just like me, not.
I hope I sleep tonight too. Thank you for the hugs
Hi to Carol, hope you and yours are all ok, little ones improving and you hands having a rest from lots of knitting.

Sleek 'wrote' on the card that will be it! It will smell of her friend t4591
They do rather take possession of certain things don't they?
Mrs D's jumper was in a neap on her radiator bed - I think she gets warm enough in the day.
After the winds yesterday Sleek is only visiting Mother at home she struggled to land I believe. She is bringing Mrs D sans jumper sadly - you might have got a peek
I hope the potions did no harm at least? Well they aren't supposed to are they it's just some of them are cat-specific :? t115006 t115006 t115006

Hi to all, well, I think it is "man flu" now t2507      He says, with streaming eyes and nose...........hey ho, it's nearly Christmas t7304
I didn't go out today, B and Dad went to the shop then Dad came back here for croissants / nibbles, for lunch. More cardboard food.  but you have to feed a cold, so I am grazing
The bagels did look very much like Christmas, I didn't realise there was red onion on them, apologies if people don't like onion with their pomegranate
I feel pretty much the same, coughing a bit more, so I am keeping an eye on that................... :? :? I might even use my ventolin a bit over the next couple of days
I did see there was a "gathering" at some time this morning, Mother was sat up on her bed on my bed, shouting, quietly (is that possible).
She said all the potions had been administered while I was asleep   I had two eyes two ears, one nose, one mouth..........so I am assuming the magic was ok
Mrs D brought her jumper for Mother to try on, it didn't wash. Mother was not for wearing it.
I think the nose potion was cat specific, as I am still streaming - Sleek will have another look in Pepe's medical bag, there will be something in there to assist t115006 t115006
One card in the post, no brown envelope. I am tempted to ring, but then go off the idea very quickly.
The lovely David is indeed a great person. I am sure we will meet him one day.
Hi Barbara - thank you for the hugs and sparkles. I should be ok with the decongestants, I am only taking three, so not too much to interfere with my other meds. They only help a bit, as with most bugs like this, they have to run their course.
Niamh is on her way after school - she will be getting excited ready for Christmas. I see she is off to Toni's to get on with the cleaning Bless her.
Eye clinic tomorrow, Toni will have the cloak ready to go, it will scoop me up and keep me in a separate room, so no one else gets lurgy
Hi Joan and Sue - it is nice to enjoy the fresh air, much better today, no winds and no rain, we had enough yesterday.
Thank you for the hugs, I will be ok I am sure of it. t4591
Hi Kath - I know, all the cardboard I am eating is rather bland :? :?
I will be off to the walk in, if I hear my chest rattling over Christmas.
There is a large delivery of cotton wool, arrived at the back door, is that to wrap me in, oh, bless your heart t4591 t4591 can I take some ice cream in with me, just to sooth my throat of course.
Go Kath, Ambassador for the Osteoporosis forum, I am sure you will be admirable in the post. t115006 t115006 t69044 t69044
Right, I am fading a bit, so, I will go and pootle a little, then rest, take more pills, eat some cardboard biscuits then snivvel my way through a siesta. Sounds like a plan.
Lots of love and sparkles to everyone, in and about t4591 t115006 Take lots of care XXXXXX Aidan t79146XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Evening all
I know I have been very quite for the last couple of days but we have a bit of a upsetting news here, in that Mr T's nephew rang up on Sunday to say that Mr T's Brother who has Alzheimer's and in a care home was taken into hospital on Sunday. and nephew was told that if his dad didn't respond to treatment in 48 hours they would withdraw treatment and let nature take its course. needless to say we realise that this means it will only be a matter of time. so understandably I am having to be very careful what I say to Mr T.
On a brighter note the dentures are a lot more secure now and can get through the day without having to reapply the fixative and I am not getting so much food getting trapped under the bottom one. The ulcers are now healing again thanks to Bonjela complete +.
Aidan Sorry that you are not well t2507 so close to Christmas I am thankful tat my virally cold has now gone. Taking the Ventolin is not a bad Idea I did this with my Bricanyl during my cold and it made a lot of difference. will be under the cloak tomorrow for your eye appointment.
Kath thank you for the salted caramel ice cream delicious
Toniyes the mouth ulcers are improving with a little help from Bonjela + it is like a liquid plaster that you put on with an applicator and it puts a protective film over the ulcer and takes the pain out of it while it heals. I am now doing some crochet practice as I want to be able to followed understand the patterns. I can do most of the stitches but following patterns that is another thing.
Mig Glad you are feeling much better
Barbara yes all the decorating has been done except for painting a small alcove under our worktop where the rubbish bin is kept, which Mr T will do after Christmas and also we need a new blind for the window which we will source in the new year sales. don't worry I keep missing things too
Caviar is nothing to shout about despite its high cost I did not have any at the meal as I have tasted it before and didn't particularly like it I stuck to the pate.
about time I did a little potter as I don't want to get stuck chair shaped
Love sparkles and Christmas greetings to all

Hi to all - thought I should write a quick note.
Hi Carol - That is sad news, about Mr T's Brother, who is so ill, with Alzheimers with medical complications. We were in the same position with my late Mum. Thoughts and prayers are with you all. t4591 t4591
Sometimes there is nothing you can say, being there is support in itself and you will know what to say and when t115006
Oh having a virus is just typical, it is a long time since I had a bad cold - which is already turning into a cough :? :? They are highly annoying   I am taking Ventolin, but only a few puffs a day, as it gives me abnormal heart rhythms   you cannot win :?
Glad the bongela is helping your gums and your teeth are behaving
Barbara has the eye appointment, but don't worry, the cloak will pick you up in good time. I will be in the isolation room
I hope everyone else is as ok as can be.
Sleek was over at siesta time, I saw her with some "potion", dropping it on my pillow t115006 t115006 not quite sure what it was, Mother knew, but she was tight lipped. :? :?
I am sure you have the cloak all immaculised Toni, I will be asleep, but just ignore me and the snivelling
OK, I am beat. I must away. Leaving lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 t115006 Take care, hope all goes ok Barbara, will be there with you. XXX Aidan

Micemeat Danish lovely - noo-oo!!!
Thank Aidan Sleek said colds (especially man-flu) are very difficult to treat cats don't get them she said.
She was able to pop a 'breatheasier' potion onto your pillow for over night I hope it helped a tiny bit and the ventolin too I know it's a risk :? Sleek and mother and Mrs D will be in the isolation room under the cloak for Barbara's eye apt this morning. As it's early they decided nursing duties came first. They love experimenti….oh I mean nursing
Mrs D is stuck with her jumper I see she will be glad of it if the temperatures drop again!
You know what? I think I would ring the dreaded number if you are well enough today. It really has been long enough now.
Oh Carol I am so very sorry about your BIL. You certainly don't need that . You will be treading on eggshells around MR T ((())) for both of you. I imagine saying very little is wise just now he will have to process things in his own way and time
I am the same as you I can crochet, but find patterns rather tricky :?
Good news that you teeth are right now and the bongela + is good Sounds like a better version of iglu.
Kath ice cream is necessary whatever the weather sometimes!! vegan too thank you very much
Yes give being an ambassador a go Kath if it's too much you can always resign. You have a good brain and helping others is something you've always done. proud of you!
Hi Joan hope all is well with you and Sue I agree it's always nice to get out whatever the weather I just don't like the dark :?
Barbara the cloak is here and about to swish us all up dressed or not! I must away and dry my hair quickly else I will be doing it and annoying you all. Still it would test the soundproofing
Thanks for sending Niamh round I will supply whatever treats her little heart desires t4591
Love to everyone
