Hi to all - If you don't mind, I won't write for long, talk about jaded

Slept on and off last night, coughing for the most part, but cough went when I got up - and has now returned at 3.30 in the afternoon No point ringing the Drs at this time, not a chance of getting in. See how things are tomorrow

Glad everything went ok at the eye clinic Barbara, it was good of the cloak to pick us all up. I was in isolation, Toni was drying her hair, hopefully it didn't alarm anyone.

Thank Miss Sleek for the potion of breathe easy- a stronger dose later me thinks. These hooman bugs are very difficult to magic away. t115006 t115006

I don't feel up to ringing the DWP, I have not got the oomph, nothing in the post, only a charge of £2 to pay, on a letter that could not be delivered, due to no postage  :? :?

I seem to have the cough now Mig, which I will be monitoring. I know I had a temp as my eyes were stinging.

There have been so many people around, coughing and spluttering, no wonder we catch and spread things like mad t2507

Enjoy your dinner, sounds yummy. Minus the meaty bit :) I will have veggie mince thank you kindly.

Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both ok, don't blame you for not going out after dark. Thank you for the hugs

Hi Kath, I have heard of Lamingtons, I will have to look them up. I will help myself to a couple or 4, thank you very much.

Hope your headache goes very soon Barbara, after all the drops and the like, no wonder your head it hurting.

The weather has been something else today, torrential rain, hail storms, inky black skies, all we need is a plague of locusts and we will be sorted   :lol:

I hope you don't catch the cold and cough from Niamh, it is doing the rounds..............

Follow up appointment in 6 months, borderline glaucoma and a slight increase in maccular degeneration. Those poor eyes, you need to lie down in a dark room with cucumber on them.

Right, I cannot sit and write any more, my eyes are streaming. Blo---- cold.......oooops, I nearly swore then. :?

I will try and get in later, after siesta / rest of bones / I am sure I will feel SO much better

Hi to all - t2507 yes, still full of it, but, I did manage to sleep at siesta time.

Sleek and Mother said they had put a potion onto my pillow, cat mint and cataesthetic    Whatever it was, it worked.

I woke after an hour, thought, goodness, I have been asleep and not coughed or snivelled - not quite time to get up so back to sleep immediately.

Sleek has put the potion box back in her ickle house. Hermione says there are some potent, but helpful ones. :? Just in case any should happen upon your pillow Toni.

Just need to get my temp down now.   Grrrrr

Today we are out for our "Christmas lunch" - we cancelled the pub, Dad would have been Mr grumpy with the menu, so we are going to the GC. I might just have soup.

I might feel a bit better this morning - hopefully.

Shut up moaning Matron, just away and cool your fevered brow. :lol:

I am sure you will be ok Mig, I know that you would not normally take Humira when on antibiotics, but it won't do any harm.
Don't kick yourself either, that will really make it hurt    t115006 t115006

Hi to Carol, hope you and Mr T are as ok as can be. Sending hugs and lots of t4591 ((()))

Good Grief. Blummin' rain. I've got aches on me pains, and screaming hips and thighs. t111055 At least Tesco wasn't late, but Chris is moaning as he's missed several items off it.

Thanks for the pancakes Aidan. Have you seen the post I shared on your FB page? It's from my Aussie cousin Avril. Jat had to share ut as it mentions unicorns. Hope it makes you smile.

Mig, hope you have 2 good days at Xmas. Will make this short, Iust post this.

    Vegan roast vegetable pizza.

    25 g Flora Freedom
125 g self-raising wholemeal flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder pinch of salt 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 7 tablespoons soya milk 50 g sundried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped 50 g cherry tomatoes, halved 1 red onion, halved and cut into wedges 1 small courgette, shaved into very thin slices using a vegetable peeler 8 black olives 25 g pine nuts 75 g dairy free mozzarella for pizza, grated

    Cooking Instructions
    Preheat oven to 200° C, 180° C fan, Gas mark 6.
Sieve the flour, then place all ingredients for pizza base together in a mixing bowl and mix together to form a soft dough. Alternatively, throw the ingredients into a food processor to blend together.
Place the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead lightly and shape into a flat round about 20-23cm in diameter. Place on a greased baking tray.
Scatter the sundried and cherry tomatoes on top of the base, followed by the remaining topping ingredients, finishing off with a sprinkling of dairy free mozzarella.
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the base is light golden. Serve straight away with a crisp mixed salad.

Hi to all - goodness, what a long day it has been so far.

A fitful night, coughing and spluttering. Woke at normal time, rattling like mad. B said, Ring Drs and get an appointment, which I did. That was for 1040, so it was shower get ready and then off.

Stopped at Dads and said we will come back for you............The surgery was manic downstairs, a three isle queue for the pharmacy.   not a seat in the house.
Fortunately the Dr I was seeing was in the upstairs waiting room, which was peace and quiet.

Dr said I was absolutely right to go in, chest infection both sides, but a lot worse on the left.
AB's and Steroids for a week. So I will be painting the ceilings. Glad I didn't leave it over the week end.

Went to the pharmacy nearby, to get my Px.

Back to get Dad, then go to GC for lunch. It was not too busy at all. I had parsnip and ginger soup, chips and a scone B had Turkey dinner, sticky toffee pudding and Dad, hoi sin duck rolls.

Then to vets, then Sainsb, then back to Drs to pick up my repeat. It was calm and quiet by this time.

    Then home.

Two ambulances at neighbours at the back, plus Police, so, not sure what is going on, usually not a good sign when Police and ambulance are there. :? :? :?

Hi Toni, hope you are ok, Sleek was over with Mother, under their mini cloak at the Drs. They concur with the Drs diagnosis. They will be doing three hourly observations until AB's take hold.
Hope choir practice went well. I think everyone was there, Sisters and Barbara too.

Hi to Barbara, now, was Niamh coming over. I forget........nothing new there. Your singing was very tuneful at choir.

    Evening all

Oh my why do we all get so busy around this time of year. It's been a very long day today. We had shopping delivered around 10 am, then out at 10.30 to attend the funeral of the wife of one of our elderly church members who passed away on the 3rd of this month. As the elderly man who's wife it was goes to Mr T's Bible study every Wednesday morning and he asked him a couple of weeks ago would he go and Mr T agreed, then it was announced in our service on Sunday so I decided to go as well. After that we went and had our usual Friday lunch together, as my friend has gone away today I was not meeting her so after lunch I did a little look around as I still have not got Mr T's present yet oops   trouble is he is a very hard person to buy for. I arrived home around 5.15pm, of course I did have an afternoon coffee as well.

We will now have youngest daughter staying with us from tomorrow evening until the 27th help as long as she dose not talk about St John Ambulance all the time. I don't mind.

Bil has now been sent back to care home as hospital cannot do anything else for him so have withdrawn treatment they did try to feed him by tube but he kept pulling it out. so we are at the moment just waiting for the inevitable and that dreaded phone call from Nephew. Mr T seems ok at the moment he tells me what nephew says but doesn't say much else say don't say anything unless he dose. I think this is the best way I know he knows that I am aware how he is feeling so I'm happy with that and I will of course be there to support when he needs it. Both our daughters are aware too and when Mr T Text them they both rang him to ask how he was which was nice. Tomorrow we have an Open Morning at the church so that's another thing to keep us busy which is a good thing I suppose. fortunately because I have been so busy ouchies seem very minimal at the moment.

But now I must potter as I may well set chair shaped if I don't and its time for a cuppa tea. will try to get on tomorrow to post and catch up with things a bit. Thank you all for your concern and hugs over Bil all very much appreciated.

    t7304 t7304 t79146

Hoping the ABs work soon Aidan and Barbara just caught you there no I'm not a veggie either but do like some veggie meals I must admit
    Stay positive always👍xx

Hi to all - keep taking the pills eh

Hi Mig, our surgery is pretty good, you can always get an appointment on the same day, once you get past the receptionists :lol:

    Is it an emergency -

well, I have COPD, Chronic heart disease amongst other things and my chest has become bad, very quickly.

So you think you have a chest infection?

No, I know I have a chest infection.

Oh, we have an appointment at 1040 - Thank you :) Don't mess with Matron.

The Dr said, you absolutely needed to be seen, you could not have left this over the week end.

Oh yes, drinking plenty, plus, steroids always give me the munchies :D:D and they mask some of the joint pains for a week

Oh dear Barbara, you have a flood.................so Mr B is in the dog house - oooops Will you have to get a new washer, asap. t115006

I am glad I got in to see the Dr. Sunday I felt really quite ill.
B has caught the cold now, but he is not chesty with it, so far.

The soup was very nice, I could not taste it properly, but it was enjoyable. B didn't like the turkey dinner. We will be mentioning that next time we are at the GC.

Thank you for the many hugs, they are always appreciated.

Neighbours hubby is quite elderly and really not well, apparently he was aggressive and had collapsed :? :? :?

You are welcome to the treats - no, you are not the only none veggie, enjoy what you like. I was veggie for many years, then took to liking meat again, now I am back to veggie and will stay that way. Just choices, that's all. :)

Hope you are all dry now, in the kitchen

Hi Carol - it is just "that time" of year, when everything kind of descends into a bit of a frenzy - it must be a human trait.

Sad to hear about the elderly lady who has passed away - of course you wanted to pay your respects.

Lunch with Mr T. Then a browse around for a present for Mr T. We don't have to worry, we have never bought for each other at Christmas. Aren't we mean :lol:

Your youngest Daughter will be with you now for a few days. I am sure you can keep her nice and busy with all sorts of preparations, to distract from too much talking "shop" so to speak. t115006

Sad that you BIL is just in a gradual decline. So difficult when someone will not tolerate a NG tube. It is horrid, waiting for the phone to ring, I know exactly how you feel. Leaving some extra hugs ((()))

Mr T knows you are there and are on the same wavelength and your Daughters have both chatted to him as well. So everyone is up to date with what is happening.

I hope the open morning at Church goes ok, as you say, keeping busy and keeping the ouchies at bay. Don't be overdoing it though.

I hope everyone else is ok. Sleek said Mummy had been busy with peeple things.

Apparently Mother and Sleek were up on Pendle, gathering cloud and dew. Pendle has been invisible for the most part

Hi to everyone else in and about. I had better be pottering again.

At home today, then brave the supermarket on Sunday...........eeek.

Lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 Take lots of care XXXXX Aidan

Oooh our smileys have gone super-Christmassy and new yearsy too

B might not get chesty like you Aidan he is otherwise quite healthy isn't he? Mother and Sleek are very 'pleased' to have an extra patient to look after :?

I hope today shows an improvement in you. Apparently your obs haven't been too great  thanks pusskins!!

I bet the Drs was heaving no-one wants to be ill when the Drs is closed do they? If you are up all night you can peel the veggies for us all  sorry that was cheeky.

Fingers crossed for your neighbours and ((())) for you both.

Sleek was quite right Mummy was having a manic day yesterday things going on starting with Kari's idea of going to Tesco at 6am yesterday  Resulting in Sleek waking me u this morning super-early as she thought it must be getting up time

When I got home there was wrapping paper everywhere Sleek had been wrapping all of her presents! Bless her little cotton paws, but she so hates sellotape :?

Not impressed with the turkey dinner then at the GC? That is odd for there :? I bet I caused the parsnip soup idea too my homemade one was parsnip and apple and was YUM!!

    t79146

Those waffles were very nice I didn't know cranberry butter was so yum! along with sprout crisps  Kari's idea

Sounds like a good thing that your friend couldn't meet up Carol you have enough on!

I think a lot of men can be tricky to buy for. I got Paul a westham book which was full of newspaper articles about the club then the usual aftershave malarkey

I think it was very kind of you to go to the lady's funeral and support Mr T's friend like that.

Nice to have your daughter with you better keep her occupied!!!

So sorry about your BIL but things do sound to be being dealt with as best they can be - such a hard time of year for something like this isn't it? Glad the girls all phoned ((()))

Best of luck at open Church and even more so for finding a present for Mr T!

One year we gave each other money and shopped at the Christmas sales!

Morning Barbara oh no!! a broken washer!!
    a015.gif

That is a nightmare! I hope you are all dry now at home.

I was so busy yesterday came home to find Niamh had been bless her and had eaten the sunday dinner I left for her too. Sleek says she is a nice little girl.

    mig
I agree about drinking plenty for mucous I drink just over 2litres a day. Quite easy as my mug is 300ml. Doesn't have to be water. Also avoid cheese and chocolate my two favourite things :( I also slow down drinking about 7pm.

I cannot believe it! Hubby born on Christmas day and his parents called Mary and Joseph!! You couldn't make that up!

Kath was it Chris' fault the Tesco order? Did he forget some things then?

It was a nasty day yesterday here too very wet I hope the ones are easier today.

The pizza looks fab. Kari says cheesily is the best vegan mozzarella.

Happy Christmas to you too Sue. It's been nice seeing you every Friday! Hi to you too Joan hope all is well?

Better get on now I am awake after Sleek's early morning alarm call

Toni, it's been really awkward organising the Tesco deliveries, which Chris does, to make sure we got the delivery slot we wanted, we had to book 4 or 5 at the same time. No wonder Chris got mixed up and forgot a few things.

Jonathan Dawn and Alex visited us last night with prezzies. Alex has fully recovered from his RTA. Later Emily rang, she just has a bit of a cough now. Campbell has gone to Wales with his dad for a few days. Chester didn't want to go. As he was a little older than Campbell, I think when his dad left them it affected him more and he isn't very close to his dad.

Waffles eith Cranberry butter. How lovely, thank you Aidan. I'm glad you got to see the doc. Flipping receptionists. Oh, did I swear there?

Carol, I'm not a veggie either, this recipe is veggie, but suitable for non veggies. :D

    Ingredients 2 medium fennel bulbs
2 tbsp chopped flat-leaf parsley zest and juice 1 lemon
175g cherry tomato 1 tbsp olive oil
2 salmon fillets, about 175g each few black olives (optional)

Oooo that dish looks nice Kath.
Went food shopping with my daughter this morning we got to the shop at 8.10 it was packed it didn't open till 8 but managed to get everything i needed except a pork pie which hubby will pick up from birds on monday.
This morning I got my appointment to have an MRI on my sternum which is still swollen top and bottom it doesn't hurt, it isn't till 10th of january I might need another trip to the Drs before then as Im still coughing .
By the way Kath Dr Pandi has been brilliant she didn't know what the swelling was but she didn't just send me away it was she who arranged the MRI after confessing she didn't know what it was she did say she didn't think it was RA related.
Egg and cheese salad for tea but I could eat that salmon.

Afternoon to all - going dark already............

Hi Toni - hopefully B won't get the chest infection side of things, he doesn't have a raft of other "issues" like yours truly
Mother and Sleek are having a wail of a time, keeping an eye on two patients

Have gone in phases today, a bit better, then jaded, then aching ribs and ouching cough. In a jaded phase at the moment. Inhalers doubled up, including ventolin.

Managed to potter a little this morning, shirts steamed, some fussing done. That was more than enough.

No, no veggies being peeled this Christmas, they are banned - only buffet things and sandwiches on Christmas Day.
The way I feel at the moment, it could be cancelled completely for me. Bah Humbug.

You were out and about at silly o clock, 6 in the morning, oh my, no no no. Middle of the night, what is Auntie Kari thinking of. Mrs Darcey will have to have a word with her.:lol:

Of course Sleek thinks it is the new wake up time, especially with it being so near to Christmas gift time. Puskins don't like sellotape at all, lol. It sticks to their whiskers.

No, the turkey dinner was not up to par, B said it was like a very bad school dinner variety. We will let it pass. Any other "odd" meals, I will say something. I won't be able to stop myself.
The soup was nice, well, I think it was nice, I could not taste it really.

Avoiding cheese and chocolate, to reduce mucous, oh dear, no chance for me then :? :? :? my staple foods :) I am sure chocolate is very soothing :D:D:D

Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both as ok as can be, keeping warm and cosy. It is supposed to be quite mild over Christmas, which is not unusual. I am sure the frosts will be back soon enough t110007
Don't worry about me, I will keep on carrying on, as we do. This is only the second infection of the year, so not done too bad so far

Hi Kath, so that's where all the booking slots went, for Tesco's, Chris had them all allocated, with umpteen orders, no wonder things went a bit askew. Bless.

A catch up with family, glad that Alex is all recovered after the RTA and Emily is recovering from the horrid cold and cough that she had. It really is doing the rounds at the moment.

I can normally get round the receptionists - I just baffle them with medical jargon and they seem to find an appointment :D:D:lol::lol:
No, I didn't hear any swearing at all Kath,

I thought the waffles with cranberry butter were quite unusual, glad everyone liked them.

Thank you for the Salmon with fennel and toms, very tasty. I like fennel.

Hi Mig, so you were in the shops at just after 8 and they were packed out   goodness, not looking forward to going to Booths in the morning. Mind, we are only a small ish town here, not like Nottm.

Glad you got all you needed, apart form the porky pie.

We will be under the cloak on the 10th, for your MRI appointment. At least the Dr is being thorough and checking things out.
Maybe another visit, re your cough, might well be in order.

Hi to Barbara, now, is Niamh with you today? Hope she is not so bad with her cold and cough. Did the washer have to be thrown out the back door, or was it fixable?

Hi to Carol, Kerrin, Christine, DD, SW, Elizabeth, Toady and all.

Time I was moving again. Love and Sparkles to all, t4591 t115006 take care, catch up later XXXX Aidan

Hi everyone. Popping in to say hello, sorry haven’t been around for ages.

It’s been a busy term for me at school. Being in class more has worked quite well as it’s easier on the body but have been having issues with a girl who tend to randomly pinch and hit. Sport has gone quite well too with netball team winning and rugby team 2nd in borough.

I’m still swimming and have recently started to play some table tennis.

The fur monsters are good. Tommy cat has lost a bit of weight thanks to a puzzle feeder which has slowed his eating down and Jeri cat has a feeder that closes so Tommy can’t snack on her food.

The joints are still creaking. Saw my rheumatologist on Tuesday (for the first time in well over a year, been seeing the nurse in between) and she wants to add injectable methotrexate to the sulfasalazine. Also been seeing the physio after waiting 5 months to get an appointment. Going to start in January.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas. It’s very low key for us. Seeing some family on the 30th.

Hi to all - Sorry if I sound like Darth Vader, ignore me, my breathing will get better :? :? Keep taking the pills.

Hi Kerrin, lovely to see and hear from you. t4591

I know you were not too keen on being more class based, but it sounds as if it has not been too bad. Trouble with one youngster, who pinches and hits, I am sure you have your work cut out and a lot of patience is needed, to bring about a positive outcome.
Well done to the netball and the rugby team :D:D

Good to hear that Tommy and Jerricat are both doing well, Tommy looking more svelt now that he has to discover his food and cannot pinch Jerry's

I hope the methotrexate helps, alongside the sulpha. 5 months to get an appointment with the phsyio, that is a long wait for sure

Low key Christmas is fine by us. Family coming up next week end, to stay nearby for a couple of days. We will meet up on the Sunday I think, unless plans are different. We just go with the flow.

Have a lovely Christmas if you don't get in before. Sending lots of love and sparkles your way t4591 t115006 t7304 t7304 :animal_busy:

Hi Barbara, good that your washer is mended, for now, until the sales :D:D:lol::lol: I bet it was a mess. Good that your Son was able to fix it for you. Just keep it going for a few more days, then hang out for a new one

No, we don't want you having a cold as well. I hope you don't get a bad chest with it too. Always worse when you lay down for a rest / sleep. Lay down, cough, cough some more, turn over, cough and repeat ..............

B has the bead head cold bit, so far, lots of scary sneezing (Toni knows all about them) Lots of boxes of tissues in stock and more will be bought today, just in case.

I remember you saying that your Son does Christmas Dinner, which is nice. No, we will cook a few things that can go into sandwiches / buffet, veggie things and maybe some chicken for Dad, or whatever he fancies.
We will brave Booths this morning..............they do the best selection of yummy veggie things. Frozen croissants too, ready for Boxing Day :)

Not hear any more of the neighbours "events", next door will keep us updated when she pops round. It is difficult when a medical problem causes such a change in personality like aggression etc.

So B was not alone in not caring much for the festive lunch - huh, not good.

Thank you for the sparkles - another day or so on the AB's and steroids, should see things improving :? :?

Oh bless her, Niamh asking if your family were waiting for you   :lol: well, to be honest, we all have our families waiting for us, t4591 t115006 t115006 She is a love, truly. t4591

Carol's Daughter will be there now, helping and being kept busy. Hope the open day was ok at Church. Keeping you all in our thoughts t4591

Did Auntie Kari have you out shopping at 5 in the morning again Toni
Sleek said you have all been doing lots of hooman things, with lots of paper and the dreaded sellowtayp as her Sleekness spells it. It is Church today for the choir, in the next village was it, or in both Churches, I forget..........

Not sure if they went up to Pendle, but I do know they went to see the Nymphs, as the ravine is very full of water. Not to worry the Nymphs though, they have many entrances to their underground homes and all doors are totally watertight.
Mother and Sleek sent some wishes over the rainbow dew drop, to our loved ones across the bridge t115006 t115006 t115006 Silver said that they had been received safely :D:D:D t4591 t4591 t4591

In between times, they have been doing medical duties, keeping tabs on our obs. t2507 I was going to look at the charts, but they had taken them, for scrutinising

I think they are having an at home day today - Mother has presents to wrap, with string, she cannot abide sellotape either. t07108

Well, I had better make another move - I am already getting ouchy from sitting a little too long.

We will hope that Booths is not too busy today. Dad will come back for lunch I would guess. Hope they are stocked up with croissants, or crumpets, at a push.

Leaving lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 Everyone take care - more rain on the way   t111055 XXXX Aidan
