Hi to all, finally, it is nearly New Years Eve and I have settled for a little while....................and breathe. (without coughing)
The toast is indeed very healthy Toni, the fruits far out way the cream and syrup After the yummy food from Kath, we can go for more chocolate now, with a clear conscience :? :?
Mother said that Sleek was on catchat, they were talking about the party for tonight, at the Nymphs ballroom. Who knew. It is huge, by all accounts, deep in the hillside, ample room for puskins to dance around, room enough for Silver and family too
Mother has allowed a picture of the ballroom - highly classified though
Mother is waiting until the New Year, for her Lady Glitter Sparkles hair do. I would be mindful of waking up with a rainbow of colours on top t115006 t115006 t115006  Sleek said she was going to "practice" - on what, or whom, I do not know
She loves her ruby slippers, without a doubt and yes, the tiara from Pepelongstockings matches perfectly t4591 t115006
Chocolates and shortbread, perfect soul food for this time of year. All at half price, loving it.
Summer clothes, in Mark's, goodness, we have not had a proper winter yet
I think we are getting a handle on the glitter, more dusting and shaking of the dusters out of the windows. We won't tell Tommy off though, he loves glitter and sparkles, one of his spells casts glitter, we might have to ask Hermione to alter that one
Coughing less, but SO tired, after nearly two weeks of feeling pretty rotten, both of us are wiped out really. No more angina on Sunday - I think the waiting for the "letter" is taking a real toll on me to be honest.  t2507
Not an easy thing when you hear a loved one saying they are going to pass away. I am certain that people do know. Having worked in hospitals for so long, you get to see and hear all sorts of things, that really cannot be explained.
Mum was making sure we heard her say "take care", no two ways about it. I will put a lovely picture on FB late on tonight. t4591 t4591
Pants with a filter in, a charcoal one I trust
Now then, Great Auntie Toni and Great Auntie Kari with Bro being Granddad, how wonderful t4591 t69044 Glad that Niece and new baby Daughter are both doing well - wonderful news, I bet you are super excited t4591 t4591
Hi Joan and Sue, sorry to hear that Sue has now caught this horrid cough and cold. Seems that half the nation is coughing or sniffling
I hope it goes soon t4591 t4591
We are feeling better, cold and infection wise, just so tired now. We will get there I am sure. Thank you ((()))
Hi Kath, sounds like Dad is still suffering a bit with his cough, even though he was only clearing his throat   As long as it is not getting worse................
The wildlife programmes are wonderful, we have such a magnificent world, a pity that man is doing so much damage to it, wiping out species at a rate of knots. Very sad really.
((())) for any lurking ouchies. Keep your thermals to hand, there will be a beast from the east at some point soon, I can feel it in my bones.
Thank you for the spiced black forest gateaux - very yummy. I helped myself to some of Toni's ample supply of clotted cream.
Hi Barbara, oh dear, Niamh has been at the laptop again and it is messing about. Not easy to write on the phone for more than a few lines.
We had a nice time at the cottage B and SIL had rented for three nights. It was very swish indeed, a new build (4 years old) open plan kitchen diner, with gorgeous kitchen, every possible mod con built in............3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, patio, BBQ, nice gardens. Summer House, the works.
It isn't far from here, about 6 miles, on the back way to Blackburn, in a very well heeled area. There was a floodlit menage over the wall - oooh, super posh.
Dad enjoyed himself, food was lovely. We came away just before 4, so we could be back before it was pitch black. B doesn't like driving in the dark.
They are going back home to London today, long trek. They are back up here at Easter. Seems ages away, but it isn't really.
My letter had best not be lost in the post - no point ringing them until the new year, no one will be there over the holiday period
I will put a nice pic of Mum on FB tonight, ready for NYears day. t4591 t115006
Don't blame you for putting your feet up, a little quiet time is always welcome.
Hope the laptop is sorted now, press lots of buttons and hope for the best
Hi to Carol and Kerrin, Christine, Elizabeth, DD, Toady, SW, Mig and all
Just a bit of shopping, then back home for croissants and coffee here, with Dad. He said "can we get back to normal" as in, our usual routine. Bless him t4591 t4591

Morning Aidan! Those waffles are posh truffles eh? Get us lot!!thank you very much
Must get my act together I am having my haircut this morning!
Right firstly we are supposed to be going away tomorrow afternoon until the 6th (Charley and Tia will take it in turns to stay here with Sleek) for Lucy's 21st, but I am not happy which is why I haven't mentioned it before. It's to Dubai you see and they have tightened their restrictions on our meds. As of October. 4 of Lucy's meds and 3 of mine count as 'controlled'. Examples are amitrip, codeine, butrans and one of Lucy's epilepsy meds clobazam.
I have been trying for weeks with the help of Kari and many hours of travel agent's time to complete an online prior approval form. It's not as simple as taking a copy of your repeat I'm afraid and so I am very fearful about going. I am tempted to post on the forum somewhere to warn others...???
I am still waiting for the 'certificate' to arrive. If it does I will be happy-ish to go. At this point I am terrified. Lucy knows nothing of my worries.
I agree with Dad - I want normal too normal is good!! Sounds like the lodge is fabulous Wouldn't mind a week there myself
I hope the family have enjoyed their break and yes Easter will soon be upon us after all the eggs are in the shops already!
I will pop into fbook today Aidan to see your Mum's pic. t4591 t4591
What a fabulous place is the Hall!! Th nymph's ball will be like nothing I have ever seen before!!It looks amazing Sleek is going to wear the ruby slippers and her ruby tiara (From her beloved Pepelongstockings) her ballgown is ruby and gold...although she might choose a different one. She says Mother will look fabulous and is wearing a silver dress to set off the new hairdo!
So far so good the practise runs on my hair have all washed out and out of the pillowcases!!
Barbara I hope your laptop gets fixed soon. You need the GDs asap!
Yep as Aidan said the pants have a charcoal filter!!
Kath I am sure your Dear dad is doing ok Anita is on the case bless her.
The wildlife programmes have been about the best thing on telly this year
Yum thanks for the black forest gateaux! I will take some with me tonight to a village party...
Poor Sue Joan please give her our love and hope she gets better soon.
Love to everyone

Evening all well not long before we are into 2019 I would like to wish you all a Happy new year. Happy newyear02. I have had an extra meet up with my friend for coffee today as we were both not doing anything special today which was nice. Things are jogging along nicely here Mr T is not being to moody at the moment .we found out this evening that both daughters will be able to be at Bil funeral on the 15th as eldest daughter has got the day off and youngest works in a special needs school and has said she will sort it out with work when she goes back on the 7th. so that's good news.
Aidan sorry to hear that you ae having to appeal against the PiP decision it makes me so angry that genuine people have to go through all this hassle, it is just not fair. So the pusskins are celebrating tonight in style I see. So glad the coughing is easing. and I agree really takes it out of you and makes you so tired. I will have to pop over to facebook to see the photo
Barbara Good to see you back again so is the computer being kind to you today. so annoying when they play up isn't it. day at daughters was really nice we did enjoy it.
Thank you ChrisK and a Happy new year to you in return.
Joan A happy new year to you and Sue and the doggies.

Mother is rather wobbly on her legs today, after the party at the Nymphs Ball. They were dancing until the wee small hours, Sleek was really working it. Mother had her Lady Glitter Sparkles hairdo, t115006 t115006 with towering heels as well   no wonder she is wobbly today
Lots of shouting, in between lots of rest and naps.
Hi to you Barbara, oh dear, your laptop is not behaving itself, Niamh has done something to it without a doubt, she didn't vacuum it by any chance
Maybe your Son can help sort it out................. No fun trying to write a lot on the phone screen, our fingers are not designed for it, with Arthur. We need Arthur keys on the phones, big and bold

Kath, I see you are enjoying the wildlife programmes. The poor Pangolin is one of the most endangered species on earth at the moment, hunted for chinese medicine, which is abhorrent.
Thank you for the yummy salad, just a piece of cake, to go with it, then we are sorted

Joan and Sue, happy new year, I hope you are both ok, it is turning colder, frost forecast for tonight.
Yes, my Doctor will help, with another letter. I have been busy doing the appeals letter, letter to the GP, copies of everything, making sure all is filed, in triplicate. My GP is a very good man and very understanding, of people with long standing and progressive health problems. I have done all I can for now. It is wrong, that we are made to jump through hoops.
Send letter off to DWP tomorrow, hand letter in to GP, pay the fee, for him writing a letter. (he may even ring me and say, forget the fee Aidan).
Right. I must away again. It is cup of T then siesta time. I am jaded.

Post off my appeal letter, then go to the GP surgery and hand in my letter / form etc, for my Doctor. Pick up my shipping order of medicines and that will be enough I think.

Evening all
oh well this year has started the same as last year but different appliance last night my washing machine broke down it wont drain cannot get appt with British Gas who have my service contract on my kitchen appliances but they cannot come until next Wednesday morning so no washing machine till then as long as it don't need any parts or it will be longer I expect. so if I need to do some washing in-between it will have to be at the launderette.
Barbara hopefully your computer will now behave. Hope you enjoy your visit from you niece.
Aidan yes great problems with washing machine but managed to part dry the clothes that were washed at the launderette this morning they are now on the tidy dry to finish off.
so my sanity remains at the moment. hope you enjoyed the garden centre Poor dad hope he doesn't get chesty though. sending him some extra sparkles. t115006 t115006 fingers crossed for the appeal extra sparkles need there too I think. t115006 t115006 . oh yum Strawberry cheese cake. Hi to all - another chilly night, after a bright but cold day.
I was going to write earlier, but our friend from next door, came round to wish us new year and have a cuppa and a natter
Hi Joan and Sue - That's good to hear, going out on your scooters every day, nice and crisp and sunny, fine if you are wrapped up, says me who cannot bear to be wrapped up at all
I hope the doggies are ok and giving lots of cuddles t4591 t4591
Hi Barbara - So the laptop is working again, having been reset. Passwords all gone, oh dear :? :? I keep a list of mine, hidden away, otherwise I would not have a clue
I assume you are running windows 10, if you do a search, for "spell check missing on windows" you should get a walk through guide as to fixing the issue.
I don't think the DWP realise just how much, these assessments etc, have such an impact on us, literally making my hair fall out
I rang them first thing and said I am sending in a letter and there will be a letter from my Doctor, please make a note, which they did.
Letter gone off, recorded. Letter taken into the surgery, for my GP, with copies of everything I could think of - he will be swamped with paperwork :? :? He is very good and he gets very annoyed at the hoops we have to fall through.
Have to wait now. I will try not to loose any more hair.
We are much more presentable now, with our hair cuts. Yes, a salon junior, quite an honour and not before time.
It was busy, but not crammed full, at the GC, had my usual cups of strong coffee and a scone, with all the trimmings. Dad is full of cold, but he says he has sorted it and it is better now, after taking a Beechams Powder and eating Fisherman's Friends (yuck). Bless him.
Those French Toast rolls looked amazing. I wanted some SO badly
I was going to say that Toni had arrived safely. No, she won't mind us mentioning it. The weather is lovely and warm, mid 20's, m0150 m0150 I said it is bloomin freezing here t110007 t110007
I hope you had a lovely time with your Niece. How is your cold, still troublesome. Ours seems to be coming back   it just won't go away. Grrrrr. t115006 t115006 that you feel more human today.
Hi Carol - Not a good start to the New Year, with the washing machine acting the goat and not draining. Isn't the washing as heavy as lead, when it is wet through
So you have to wait a week now, for the repair guy to come out - if we were nearer, we would do all your washing and drying for you t4591 You know what I am like, more than happy to take in laundry
Good that you have some of it drying, or dry by now. Is the launderette close by ? Good that you are keeping your sanity t4591 always a plus.
Thank you for the sparkles for Dad, we will keep a daily check on him, Matron is all ears, for any signs of chest infection. Even though he thinks that Fisherman's Friends will cure anything
Mr T is chatting about things, which is a positive thing, the more talking about the loss of his Brother, the better. Sometimes the upset bit, does not really hit at all. Everyone is different in how they deal with various stages of grieving. Some special sparkles, to hide in his slippers t115006 t115006

Sorry I didn't pop in, I'm OK but Martin came for my blood test. He booked it in November, and when he didn't turn up at the usual time, I rang him. Someone had moved all his appointments round over Christmas and he didn't know. But he came and did it anyway.
OOOh, a little bit of everything for me please Aidan, thank you very much.
Dad, Emily and Anita are all well thank you Joan. Hope you and Sue are prepared for the freezing weather. I know you will alredy be wearing your thermals.
Halibut with roast tomato & herb dressing
INGREDIENTS 4 dry-packed sun-dried tomatoes
1 small red onion, finely sliced
2 tsp red wine vinegar
2½ tbsp olive oil
4×180g halibut steaks
200g cherry tomatoes, quartered
25g flat-leaf parsley, chopped
25g basil, chopped
Method
cover the sun-dried tomatoes with boiling water and leave to soak for 20 minutes, then drain and chop. Preheat the oven to 200°C/gas mark 6. Place the sliced onion in the vinegar and leave to infuse. Place the halibut steaks on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Brush the fish with half a tablespoon of the olive oil and roast in the oven for 10–15 minutes, until the fish is starting to flake and is just cooked. In a small saucepan, gently warm the remaining oil, then add the sun-dried tomatoes and cherry tomatoes until the cherry tomatoes start to soften. This should take about 5 minutes. Add the infused onion and vinegar and continue to cook for a further 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the herbs. Serve the sauce warm, and spooned over the roasted fish.

Hi to all - a grey day, quite chilly too.
Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both ok, have you been out and about on your scooters today? With the doggies riding along
I hope that with my letter and the Drs letter, that things will get sorted and put right, if not, we will take it to the next level.
Hi Mig - so you missed the New Year, not that there is much actually happening, lots of drinking and fireworks........then it is all over.
The second Christmas with your family down south, sounds like it was a great time. Everything cooked to perfection Good to meet up with your GS's girlfriend. He has an offer at Durham Uni, but is waiting for Cambridge, which would be a lot easier for travelling etc.
Either are excellent universities though. What is he going to study?
Glad your cough has all but gone - now Mr Mig is coughing like mad. It is a horrid bug, really is. I am still coughing, not as bad by any means, but it is a real lingerer.
Hi Kath, how rude of whoever, to move your District Nurses appointments about and then not tell him. Causing all manner of problems.
Glad you managed to have you bloods taken
Help yourself to all of the breakfast delights, by all means
Good to hear that Dad Emily and Anita are all ok, after their colds etc.
I will enjoy some of the halibut and tomato / herbs. Thank you kindly.
Dad has our cold, so we rang at lunch to see how he was "pain when I breathe"  right, give me two minutes. Straight on the phone to the Drs. Rang Dad back and B has now taken him to the Dr, no messing about, pain on breathing is not good, could be one of many things, t2507 so best to be seen, especially with the week end coming up.
A quiet day, otherwise, I think it is right chilly. Keep [ressing the buttons on the thermostat
Hi Barbara - hope you are ok and your cold is not too bad. So many people are keeling over with it and it seems a difficult one to shake off.
Did you enjoy the time with your Niece, putting the worlds to rights.
I trust the laptop is behaving - or Mr B will have to treat you
Now, is Niamh coming over, best be ready................
Hi Toni, if you look in, we hope you are all having a lovely time in the warm sunshine, overlooking the sea
Sleek was over this morning, to see Mother. Mother Glitter Sparkles didn't want to venture out, so Sleek went up to Pendle and gathered some icy mists.
Mother has had some lugs clippered away, much to her delight, not. She was a wee big grumpy, but nothing too dramatic. Now she has bald patches, so Miss Sleek must not laugh when she sees them  :?
Hi to Carol, Kerrin Christine, Elizabeth, DD, SW, Toady and all.
I will away and do a little pottering.
Be back later, love and sparkles t4591 t115006 in the meantime, take care XXXXX Aidan
