It was my own fault the post went AWOL. I made a mistake, then while trying to put it right, I shut my browser down without saving the post!!!!
Well, we will see whether we get decent neighbours.
Joan, you asked whether I'd written a poem about the forum. I have, and posted it eons ago. But here it is again.
Magical
Our forum is such a magical place,
with puss cats galore,
a magical door,
a lovely zoo
and zoo keepers too
what more could anyone need
The food’s full of taste,
we eat it in haste,
and our friends here are loving and kind.
We all have a laugh, a smile, a titter
and here, we all can unwind.
So forget your Arthur
and soak up the laughter
stroll through the garden, and zoo.
We’ll send massive hugs
and drive out your bugs
and start each day anew.

yes, put Rosie's number on speed dial, she promises to answer within 3 rings, rather like our lovely helpline on here.
Apple Crumble and custard
Ingredients
4 large Bramley cooking apples
4tbsp olive oil
Zest and juice of 1 large lemon
175g unrefined caster sugar
2 pinches of ground cinnamon
115g cold unsalted butter
225g plain flour
140g caster sugar
25g porridge oats
Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C/gas mark 6. Peel and core the apples and cut into large chunks.
Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the lemon zest and juice, 175g sugar, cinnamon and then add the apples. Cook for 5 mins to soften slightly.
Tip into a large baking dish roughly 20cm square.
Place the cold butter and flour into a food processor and blitz until you have fine breadcrumbs.
Tip into a bowl and stir through the sugar carefully. Spoon over the top of the stewed apples and sprinkle over the oats.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 mins or until well-browned. Serve your apple crumble with custard and/or ice cream."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon to all - goodness, it is warm today  m0150 m0150 after a frost last night, I am melting now...................
Hi Joan and Sue - We seem to be here for just about everyone around and about, for most things either technical or medical
Love to both and the doggies too. ((()))
Hi Kath - I think we have all done that, closed the browser and then realised the moment we went "click"..............occasionally you can reopen the page, from history in the top right corner and the page will still be there, but, for the most part, it is gone.................
I do hope you get good neighbours, I will pop some sparkles through their letter box t115006 t115006 Mother said she will cast a spell - not quite sure what spell.................. :? :?
I love your poem and remember it well. t4591 t4591
Rosie's number is on speed dial, three rings, that's impressive
Ta muchly mi duck for the apple crumble and custard. I am running out of time today, so not had time to bake a cake
Neighbour came round again, with her bestie friend, who we know well too. They stopped quite a while, in fact most of the morning.
She was having quite a lot of angina, 6 attacks, just in the morning.
I did tell her off, again, for not taking her morning pills, by this time it was noon !! Naughty. I only have to ask and I can tell by her face if she has taken them or not..........."how do you know" she says.............well, call it nurses intuition.
Lunch was later than normal...........then a potter in the garden. Our smaller wisteria has at least 50 flower buds on, OH MY DAYS SO excited it is going to be gorgeous. Gave them both some extra feed and watered the rest, re filled the bird bath, as come 4 pm there is a queue of birdies, waiting to do their ablutions.
Hi Barbara - I guessed you might well have been busy, there is always lots of paperwork to sort out after someone has passed t4591 t4591 hope your niece is doing ok and your nephew too, it will be very hard for them.
Glad that Niamh is feeling a lot better and has now stolen your laptop after her game of football with Daddy, bless. Poor nan, having to write on her phone.
There were some mini choccy rolls, those yummy ones in a tub. I keep sneaking one every now and then
Always Kringles, we can never run out of them, they are there for emergencies of all descriptions, well, any reason at all.
I guess you weather is like ours, warm warm warm. Blackout curtain shut tight, fans on.............still warm, but ok if I don't potter too much.
We didn't get thunder, but we did get just about everything else, apart from snow. t69044 t111055 t115006
Hope you are ok Toni, is it village clean up day today? I seem to recall Sunday was a busy day last week. Maybe some plants have gone out now t69044 t69044
Sleek came over to see Mother, she took Mother up to Pendle for the sunrise and they gathered small amounts of special morning mists. t115006 t115006
Mother has had some lugs clippered off her tummy - I told her I was styling her lovely fur - not sure she believed me, but she stretched out and let me clip them off, must feel more comfortable for her.
She is up and shrieking now, so Sleek might get a different tale about being skalped by Daddy 2.
Right. I had better be moving again. Back is shouting the odds, nothing new, just have to get on................. :? :?
Love and sparkles to all, I will call back later on t4591 t115006 I just fancy some choccy ice cream with the apple pie............let me go find some XXXX Aidan

Such a busy day today I am sorry to be late in but all is well here.
Yes village clear up cat sitting and visitors  unexpected ones at that!!
Sleek had a lovely morning out with Tosca. She told Sleek that she requested Daddy 2 trim her tummy as she was too hot today :?
Its been tooo hot here today I hope everyone is ok.
Will try to post more reliably tomorrow
Just grab some ice cream! Vegan!!
Love to everyone

Hi to all - a bit cooler now, lovely clear skies. Sunshine and warm, for at least another 10 days m0150 m0150 Not too hot - pretty please :? :?
Hi Toni, I guessed right, that it was a village clean up, then puskin sitting and unexpected visitors   :? :?
Taken by surprise is always a little jarring on the psyche
Did your guests stay a long time? That kind of freaks me out - if time is marching on.............. :? :?
I think Mother feels a lot more comfortable with her tummy lugs removed, there are some tiny ones left, for another day. We should call her Mother Lugs
They enjoyed a catachino at the Nymphs cafe' leaving the small but valuable mists they had gathered at sunrise. Mother said we can see a picture of the ravine t115006 t115006 , but we cannot see the Nymphs, they are very secretive.
It was very warm this afternoon, always by late afternoon, it starts getting hotter. The blackout curtain is very good I must admit.
It won't be long before the AC unit is wheeled out from its cupboard.
I hope everyone else is as ok as can be. Carol, Mig, Kerrin, SW, DD, Toady, Christine, Mell, Elizabeth and all t4591 t4591
Quiet evening here. Pottering and catching up on the golf.
Off to the GC with Dad this morning, then some shopping. No other great plans. I will take some pictures of the wisteria flower buds, I cannot wait for them to bloom t69044

It is so warm today, I hope it's not going to be as hot as last summer. :?
Toni, I hope the dress fitting went well, especially after your weight loss. You have worked so hard in the village, you must have lost tons. Can't wait to see Wilhelmina in flower, she will look beautiful.
BTW I have promised our mig that we'll all be under the cloak for her scan.
I've also been giving Rosie everyone's contact details in her special organiser she has.

Afternoon to all - just read the news that Doris Day has passed away at age 97, what an Icon and a Star if ever there was. t115006 t115006 RIP Doris, you amazing Lady.
Hi Joan and Sue I think our neighbours would ban us from moving, certainly next door, she would put a road block up on the road to the park She has said so many times, don't ever think of moving
Dads legs are ok, thank you. His wound sites have healed very well and he is certainly walking a lot better. We have to remind him to keep his stick with him.
Hope you are enjoying the sunny weather m0150 m0150
Hi Toni, Sleek was round here at silly o clock saying that Mummy was going to put dressez on, with pinz in   Mother understood and went back to sleep :animal_busy: :animal_busy:
Hope the fitting went well and everything is going to plan.
Loving the flowers on Whilemena Gorgeous gorgeous. Yours will be pink and ours are dark purply blue ish colour. Will put pics on.
The ravine is wonderful, that mist, is there most of the time apparently, very cooling. Mother said she will ask the Nymphs if she can take their pictures, as you say, they are very secretive to muggles.............
hope you managed to take some wipes with you after the waffles belly squishers, I am all for them, they should make spanx for men too.
Hi Kath - it is VERY warm today, all fans on, blackout curtain shut tight.
I have been over to Migs personal thread and added myself to the list for pocket duties, we will all be there to help and support. t115006 t115006
Just a little syrup for you Kath, duly noted, I will stop pouring
That Ice Lolly cake is just perfect for this weather. I am praying it is not as hot as last year, that was just too much and then some.
I hope everyone else is ok, Barbara, Carol and all friends here.
We were at the GC this morning, most people were sat outside, (I don't do sun, being wrinkle phobic and a big ninny when it comes to wasps).
Had brunch and chocolate orange fudge cake
Shopping, then dropped Dad back off at home, sounds like he is miles away, all of 50 yards).
Time I was having another potter - almost pills time too.
I will pop back into the fridge

Evening all
What a lovely day weather wise today quite warm in the sun not too hot but warm enough a best of all sun m0150 and no rain t111055
weekend been quite busy but today a more relaxed day. went hunting in the shed for some lost hours earlier loaded up a big trolley and put them in the café behind the big armchair in the corner by the window, safely hidden for those who need some back feel free to claim some. had to laugh at Mr T today he had a Dr appointment as a follow up to being in hospital and the tablets given. during his conversation about his problems advised him to drink decaffeinated tea and coffee where possible which is not difficult as we use both at home anyway. when talking about how much he drinks and the last drink of the day which we have about 9pm she advised him to give up that last one. to which he said when he got home thats one thing I'm not doing for anyone. he loves his cuppa tea. Yes Rosie sounds super organised.
Barbara enjoy your days in Llandudno Rosie is Clarence and Florence's friend our friendly highly Trained friend who rides us of all those 8 legged creatures that are disliked by many and she is working in their office,
Aidan Sad to hear about Doris Day passing away. glad dad is ok and yes he must keep his stick with him. Hope you enjoyed the Gc
Kath wow Rosie looks very busy she sounds super organised. I love your poem about the forum.#
Toni Hope the dress fitting went ok
If I have missed anyone out I'm sorry but the brain is not quite so good at remembering things as it used to be some times.
its now time for a little potter will be in again soon.
love and sparkles to all t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006Stay positive always👍xx0 -
The dress now fits like a glove!! Thank you all it's perfect!
Aidan Tosca is going to try to get us a pic of the nymphs....I know Sleek said they "don't do selfies ". I hope we can see them that would be great
Doris Day? she was gorgeous
The dress looks fabulous and the pins are out now. Sleek loves it she still has to choose between 3 outfits....
Bleeies need squashing. Paul has a belly squashing tee shirt.
I cant wait to see your wisteria ti I love the smell
Carol I need some of those hours please!!
Thank you:).
Mr T isn't taking his Drs advice eh? Doesn't surprise me one bit!! Bless him
Barbara I have been following Pom and the RHS guidelines for pruning of my wisteria. August and feb/March.
I hate unsolicited visitors these days. Met up with friends at Mark's for a cuppa at lunchtime.
I am like you its Paul loves his holidays. I do love France though... Llandudno will be lovely just you wait.
Kath of course well be there for Mig!
Yes I am a slim Jim now especially with my belly squashing pants on!!
Glad our numbers are in Rosie's phone
Hope all is well with you Joan?
Night all0 -
Hi to all - cooler now, which is good
You are more than welcome to sit with me in the Fridge Barbara
I don't mind sunshine days at all, we seem to get all, or nothing. The joys of being an island.
Wisteria's a plenty, for sure. Cannot wait for them to come into flower. Ours are tiny ones, it is only a small plant really, it doesn't get too big and I doubt it would ever climb far.
No, I didn't see the advice about pruning them, I think both of ours are still too small, to be chopped -
I know QVC and Ideal World have both had lots of garden programmes on recently. I like Ideal World, they have some great deals on plants.
Toni had the unannounced visitors   but I would have been just the same. I can cope with neighbours (to a point). Family always check in first and make sure it is ok. Planned I can cope with. :? :?
The GC was very pleasant, everyone wanting to sit in the sun, meant we had loads of room inside I think the coffee must have been extra strong, as we both had horrid nightmares at siesta time   very strange, didn't feel right at all.
Mother was pleased to have her tummy lugs removed, they must have been uncomfortable. Bless.
We love the Doris Day films, Pyjama Game, great movie...............I can feel a song coming on
I hope you have a lovely time in Llandudno for your Birthday, I will bake a cake
Home birds, yes, I am with you on that one. We have not had a holiday, in 19 years
Hi Carol - you are enjoying fine weather too, I think we are all basking in warmer climes at the moment.
I have found some hours and popped them into my man bag, best if I carry them round with me, to use as needed. Ta muchly.
I would not give up a bedtime cup of tea. I know I am a caffeine fiend, Bill less so. I must try and cut down a bit, it is giving me the heebie jeebies.
You have your drink of T, Mr T
I bet there will be a lot of Doris Day films on tv, might have to record them t4591
We are on less than two week countdown now............
Hi Toni - glad the dress fits like a glove
Mother is working on taking a picture of the Nymphs. True, they don't do selfies, they have never heard of the like.
Sleek has been telling Mother all about your dress, lots of shrieking and oh the indecision of what she is going to wear   she was in and out of her dressing room, like a crazy cat
I used to have shape wear t shirts. When I was more agile and able, B had to help pour me out of it. Now I would have to have it cut off, no way could I get it over my head, on, or off   in fact I would not be able to breathe at all :? :?
Pictures will be taken of our baby wisteria flowers
We are all in the same boat when it comes to ad hoc guests
Not been in a Mark's t room for donkeys years, hope you enjoyed and I hope there was cake too.
Have to be up a bit earlier today, we are off to Blackburn Royal with neighbour, for her cardiac stress test. She hates them with a passion, as did I.
We will hand hold and support, but they don't let "others" into the test room.............. :? :? I might borrow the cloak, so I can slip under the door.
Time I was pottering. Need to make sure I am more calm, before bed, don't want another run of nightmares :? :?

Afternoon and what a bloomin hot one it is too. Goodness I am in a total lather. It is well over 20 here, the forecasters say 20, we say 24
Glad you enjoyed the croissants Toni, nice and simple but very good indeed.
Mother enjoyed the cooler air, with Sleek and Mrs D on their trip up and over Pendle, towards the reservoir and then back again, for the fishy latte's in this weather they are quite pungent
there is plenty of room in the fridge, I will add another shelf, so we can all fit in. Even though you are nice and slim Jim.
The cloak was perfectly aired, ready for the hospital visit. It was the injection stress test, (which she has had before and they made her really quite ill)
We arrived, early, checked in, then went on the mile walk to coronary care   Why, in Heaven's name, is it as far as it possibly could be, almost in a full circle. B and M pinched a wheelie chair from another clinic, as I was about done in.
We got there and I said, that's A & E, through that swing door, that says STAFF ONLY
Hugs and off M went, I had a quick Matronly word with Sister, who was wonderful
It was all done and dusted, nowhere near like it was the previous time, no nausea, soon over with. Back into Costa, for cakes, we needed them.............We only had one coffee, then a T. Not having another nightmare siesta :? :?
Back in time for a slightly later lunch, think we are caught up now. Just a tad warm.
I will take pictures of the wisteria, they will be out by the time I finally remember
Hi Joan and Sue - don't worry, I am like this all summer long, it is not my fav time of year, by any means. Give me cooler weather any day.
Dad is doing ok, we keep a close eye on him and see him every other day, at the very least.
Oh dear, your eyes are bothering you Kath, I will send some special soothing sparkles, to help with the dryness. t115006 t115006

Thank you for the lovely sandwich, just what we need, nice and refreshing, on a hot day. t4591 t4591
I hope Barbara and Mr B are settled into their hotel, for their little holiday. If the weather is like this, it will be lovely, always a little cooler on the coast.
Hi to Carol Mig and all our other friends. I will have to move, I am melting on my gel cushion

Evening all
Another nice day a little breezy now but quite pleasant.
No Mr T would certainly not give up his evening drink which we have around 9pm for anyone and I don't blame him nor would I. and when we were out earlier he did have decaf coffee so he took that bit of advice. Makes you wonder sometimes if some of these is Drs take their own advice :? :? not happy today went to weigh in at SW and I have put on 3 and half pound over the last 3 weeks how I do not know have not really done any thing different but it has put me over top of target zone by 1lb and I am supposed to go next week and weigh to see if I am back in target. but I cannot go for the next 2 weeks so will probably have to pay when I go back. may have to have words with my consultant we had a stand in one today.
Toni Don't worry Mr T would not give up that last drink of tea for the evening which we have around 9pm for anyone neither would I come to that. take as many hours as you need will replenish them from the shed when they run out. Rosie has all our details now and she is super organised.
Aidan yes count down to our bank holiday weekend away for Rubies christening is underway it is now 10 days we go on the Friday and come back on the Tuesday. really looking forward to it now. Don't worry the evening cuppa will remain in fact Mr T is making one as we speak. some times I wonder how many of these Drs take there own advice yes weather is better at the moment hope all went well with neighbours cardiac stress test. Glad you found the hours your welcome to them, the shed was bursting with them.
Joan Don't worry the evening cup of Tea will not be given up
no way says Mr T.
Barbara Don't worry about getting mixed up I do it all the time especially with Daughters GC and GGC they are used to me calling them by the wrong name mind you when you have GGDS with the names Lillie Graycie and Rubie all ending with ie and Daughter and 2 GDs with names all starting with the letter K and sounding alike it is no wonder I get mixed up.
well its time to potter now before bones and joints start complaining
Love and Sparkles to all t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006Stay positive always👍xx0 -
Hi to all - a bit cooler now - goodness it was hot at siesta time.........
Hi Barbara, glad you are there safe and sound, if a little sun burnt m0150 m0150 those sea breezes will keep you cooler.
It was just our neighbour who had the test done - you would not get me in the door, for that test, even though she said it was a walk in the park, compared to the last ones.
I am glad the pinched the trolley for me, or I would still be there, poddling back to the main entrance   Sounds just like your eye hospital, a mile walk there and back.
We adore wisteria's, living in France for those years, the wisteria's were simply amazing, they would run the length of a property, or the edge of the garden, just a waterfall of gorgeousness t4591 t4591 they used to flower twice too.
If I tried to get in shape wear I would catapult myself across the room  it would not be a pretty sight I can tell you
Glad the ice cream soothed your neck Take care and enjoy the break. Fish and chips maybe, on the sea front No vinegar for me, ta. t115006 t115006
Hi Carol - Drs taking their own advice, mmmmmmm, well, I could tell some tales, but I had better not. :? :?
Apart from the ones in France, some of the cardio team smoked, after saying how naughty it was, when you went outside, they were all there puffing away
Don't you worry about being very slightly over your target, you will have that sorted in no time. I am sure if you have a word with your Consultant, you won't have to pay. You are a champion
Thank you for the spare hours, I think I need some more, have used most of them up already. Neighbour was very glad that we were there to take her. She treated us to coffee and cakes, only one coffee though, I was very good.
We have our last cuppa about 130 in the morning, before bed   night owls to say the least.
9 days and counting down I bet you are SO looking forward to your break away.
All those names and K's and ie's - I would have to put name badges on all the children, GC and GGC
Hi Toni, hope all is well with you and yours t4591 another hot day today, then it cools off a little, hoorah. Bah humbug to summer
B has been busy taking plants that have gone over, out, shaking the roots, putting them in the garden bins. Azaleas, all but one has died off, for some reason, same with one of the Californian Lilacs :? :? We will get some bedding plants today and compost, then put all the nice blue pots on the ledge at the front.
We are quite high up at the front, at least 6 foot, before the park home starts, so we have a nice ledge all the way round. Perfect for pots, until the winds start howling t110007 t110007
The neighbours that left, gave us all their lovely blue pots, some quite large, very kind of them. We used to have such a laugh, across the road, to the point of shrieking at times
I think Sleek and Mrs D are popping over while we are out this morning. There is a SYTTD to catch up on and no doubt some sweets to eat. Mother has a picture of one of the least shy Nymphs, took some convincing, but, they hold her in high esteem t4591 we are VERY honoured t115006 t115006 t115006
No coffee out today, almost every day, is getting a bit much.........
Hi to everyone else, in and about. t4591
Time I was pottering, my gel cushion feels like it is centrally heated
Lots of love and sparkles to all. t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006 Take care XXXXX Aidan

I'm pooped! Been to the Co-op and had ice cream while on the bench Had a nap followed by another ice cream then put the laptop on and everything went haywire. Sorted it now, but I'm even more pooped than ever. Feeling chilly so put my extra cardi on, but don't feel too good. Thank you for the soothing sparklies for my eyes, very cooling. And thank you for the cherry sweet rolls too. I had 5, yum yum.
Toni, so glad your dress is a perfect fit. Nothing is a perfect fit for me, not even my own hair. It needs another skalping. Maybe I could have a delugger like Tosca's.
I fancy some vegan Nicoise Salad - dig in guys.
Ingredients
SALAD
6 small red or yellow potatoes
1 cup green beans or haricot verts (trimmed)
1 head lettuce (chopped // such as butter, green or romaine)
1/2 cup pitted Nicoise, green, or kalamata olives
1/2 cup sliced tomato
1/2 medium red beet (optional // finely grated or sliced)
CHICKPEAS
1 15-ounce can chickpeas (1 15-ounce can equals ~1 1/4 cups cooked beans)
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp maple syrup (or stevia to taste)
1 tsp dried dill (or sub 2 tsp fresh dill per 1 tsp dried)
1 pinch sea salt
1 Tbsp roasted unsalted sunflower seeds
DRESSING
3 Tbsp minced shallot
1 heaping tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme (or sub 1/2 tsp dried thyme per 1 tsp fresh)
1/3 cup white or red wine vinegar
1/4 tsp each salt and pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
Add potatoes to a small saucepan and add warm water until just covered. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat slightly to medium / medium-high until the water is at a low boil. Cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, or until completely tender and when picked up with a knife they slide off easily. Then drain thoroughly and let cool on a cutting board. Once slightly cooled, slice into 1/4-inch slices. Set aside.
While potatoes are cooking, fill a medium saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil. Then add green beans or haricot verts and boil for 2-4 minutes, or until bright green in color and only slightly tender - they should still have slight crunch when bitten. While they're cooking, fill a large mixing bowl with ice water. Once the green beans are done cooking, drain thoroughly and immediately add to the ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and pat dry - set aside.
Add drained, rinsed chickpeas to a small mixing bowl, along with sea salt, mustard, maple syrup, dill, and sunflower seeds. Stir to combine and mash a few chickpeas to create texture. Set aside.
Add dressing ingredients to a mason jar (or whisk in a small mixing bowl) and shake vigorously to combine. Set aside.
To serve, divide lettuce between two large serving bowls (amount as original recipe is written // adjust if altering batch size) or plates and top with chickpeas, green beans, potatoes, olives, tomato and beets (optional). Serve with dressing. Best when fresh, though leftovers pack/keep well up to 2 days when the dressing is stored separately. Store extra dressing (well-sealed) at room temperature in a dark place up to 2-3 days.

m0150 m0150 m0150 Another warm day, to say the least
Blackout blind doing its job, have had front curtains shut, until just now, fans on full, so just about ok - ish :? :?
Hi Joan and Sue We have had green tea before, it was ok, as it white tea, which is supposed to be extra good for you. Tea is a terror for tainting mugs and cups - Bubbles soon immaculises them though, they don't stand a chance
Dads legs are doing ok. His wounds are fine, healed very well. He keeps forgetting to take his sulphasalzine at night, so his RA is playing up a bit. We keep reminding and they are there, in his weekly blister packs...........   you can lead a horse to water, as they say.
I think we should have the bus ready and all go to Lllandudno to meet up with Mr B and Barbara
Paddling in the sea, with a nice breeze off the ocean, would be very nice. Would my crutches vanish into the sand I wonder   :?
Hi Toni - Sleek said that there was a muggle there, from the garden ov eden   mez uriyng the wallz
Good that the blinds will now be made and with great haste too - it is a tad mild
Any signs of more judges, loitering about the village :? :? Mother said her crystal ball is on high alert. :animal_busy: :animal_busy: :? :?
