To answer Toni first - it were chucking it down me duck. The driver had to sit in his cab a while as it were too wet to get out and deliver stuff. He was drenched when he arrived with our bags all soggy.
Joan, I know, there have been some really awful cases over the years. What about the woman who killed her own new born. So upsetting.
There has been banging and tapping in the empty house next door, and voices. We haven't see anyone yet though.
Barbara, I've never played Candy Crush, but I used to love the various forms of Solitaire.
Aidan I won't be leaping out of any chairs any time soon, I also asked my doc if I can stop taking my anastrazole. I can.
smashed avocado toast with poached egg
Ingredients
1 ripe organic avocado
1 organic egg (must be fresh)
juice 1/2 organic lemon
1 Tbsp organic sunflower seeds
1 tsp of harissa (to taste)
1/2 tsp ground cumin
small bunch of fresh coriander
1 slice of your favourite organic bread
salt
Instructions
In a small bowl, mash avocado flesh with a fork. Mix in lemon juice, ground cumin, sunflower and 1 Tbsp of chopped coriander leaves. Season to taste with salt.
Heat some water in a small saucepan. Add some vinegar in the water. When water is boiling, reduce the heat to a gentle simmer.
Crack the first egg and place in a ramekin.
Whisk the water to create a gentle whirpool.
Delicately place the egg into the simmering water.
Poach the egg for around 3 minutes.
Remove with a perforated spoon and drain on kitchen paper.
Spread smashed avocado on a slice of bread. Top with poached egg.
Serve with harissa on top and a sprinkle of chopped fresh coriander leaves."Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." Robert A Heinlein

Afternoon to all, I think it has stopped t111055 t111055 for now.....
Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both ok, perhaps letting the lovely doggies out into the garden, with the weather being a tad WET.
I did make a mess of my shirt, fortunately I had a lightweight coat, so I could cover up, to go shopping and hide the shame
All came out in my immaculisation wash
Thank you for the hugs for us all, you are so kind (((()))) t4591 t4591
Hi there Barbara - sneaking in quick, while Niamh is resting in bed, after her bacon buttie, bless her.
Are you all going to the skating? Obviously watching from the seating area  the only wheels we are allowed are on buggies and chairs.
What more indeed, glad you liked the fish tiara, Sleek has ordered one from Catgos, she could not find one on Catazon, or Catbay.
Dad was bang on time for his lunch, enjoyed his croissants and coffee. He likes cheese, with jam, while we prefer slatherings of mayonnaise the oils are good for you :? :?
He enjoyed watching the tennis, Djokovic is out, Thiem beat him in 5 sets. I am glad Theim won really, it will make a change to have someone different in the final with Raffa.
So cream is not on your list of treats. I can live without it I must admit, but I did like the ferrero rocher ice cream, oh my, give me the whole tub. I will be searching for some more on Monday, without a doubt.
They had blue banana ice cream last week - not sure about that one  All of the ice cream is locally made, only the best ingredients.
I used to play bubble witch saga on facebook, but got frustrated with that and gave up. Mandy is a demon on Candy Crush, goodness knows what level she is on................
B took her the newer computer round, which she is very pleased with.
Quick, hope you managed to hide the laptop before Niamh arrived
Our Niece and her partner messaged, someone had tried to break into their house in the night   - they had blow torched the lock and door, as you can see from the picture
https://photos.app.goo.gl/W2AF8giMDD634TUe6
Fortunately the locks were anti snap - so they didn't get in. Thank the Lord.
They are shaken up and obviously upset. The police came and the landlord has had the locks changed and new handles put on, with two new solid composite doors, on order.
The Police said that the main reason for burglaries is for getting car keys and taking the cars, usually within 30 seconds, if the lock can be snapped.
Bless them. Their puskin was terrified and has been hiding under the bed all day.
Hi Kath, ant it rained mi duck - chucked it down. Sun is out now
Poor Tesco delivery man, being sopping wet through, poor love.
So there is someone about, next door, with banging and clattering going on................eyes peeled at all times, we need to know who what why when and how not that we are being nosy
I could cope with solitaire, the normal straight forward one. There are so many variations of it, they just confuse me (even more)
That is great news, stopping the anastrazole, very good indeed t4591 t4591
I will help you smash the avocado in celebration
Ta for the lovely munchies
Hi to Toni, hope you and yours are all ok, Sleek said it has been so wet, lots of raynz and windz - there was no flying out on broomstick this morning, far too inclement. Sleek will be over at siesta time, to natter Mother about her new fish tiara that is now on order   t115006 t115006
Mother was not happy with Gdad being in Daddy's chair again, she went off into the bedroom, shrieking...........
Has there been a tidy up around the village - after all the rain and winds?
Hair cut this morning, so feeling SO much better and so young again.

Hi to all - still dry at least for one day
Hi Toni - gosh, you have been busy, round the village.
Thank you for sharing all the pictures of the scarecrows, they are all very good
I like the lady doing the gardening in the hedge of course the cat lady's scarecrow is very good, just showing how much rubbish we all create.
Personally, Rapunzel tops them, but all credit to everyone who has taken so much time and trouble to make some very good scarecrows and show their pride in the village t4591 t4591 t69044 t69044
It was our Niece who had their door lock blow torched, but thankfully they could not snap the lock. Puskin is a bit more settled now.
I don't think they will sleep very well, which is no surprise :? :? people are just so awful, to cause damage and upset, without a care in the world :x :x

Morning
After the two days of rain it looks lovely outside. m0150
I woke up very early this morning I thought to a banging on the front door.....maybe 4am-5am? Sleek was very glad to see me I could see she was feeling extremely upset so I spent some time with her. She got her framed pics of Pepe (every time you posted one she'd print it off and keep it bless her) and we looked at each one and talked about him.
Since then she went and picked Tosca up so they could both collect mists from Cannock Chase and go to see the nymphs for a latte. I think she'll be quiet today too bless her.
I love the pics - he was an excellent glider. I'm sure that was how he woo'd MIss Slimkins For you and B t115006 t115006 t115006 t4591 t4591 t4591 ((((())))) Pepe Ragemews AKA Pepelongstockings never forgotten
Of course your niece  yes they are often 'kids' and they only want a car to trash for a few days like those lads did Tia's :x They don't care how much they traumatise us innocent people. :x
Dad was on time for his croissants? That's good. We have ours with butter and jam/marmalade. Did he have his hair cut too? you look at least 10 if not 20 years younger!!
Won't do Djokovic any harm at all not to win almost every game he plays :?
I'll just have a few mushrooms and leave the majority for Kath
Mysterious goings on then in the house next door :? Interesting...….
I love avocado smashed on toast is one of my favs ta v muchly!
My friend was on tamoxifen is now on anastrozole.
Joan it's terrible when people harm babies and children. That was the worst job ever I did when I was a SW Have you had this rain?

Wow Toni, superb photos of the village scarecrows. I don't know which I like best. The horse rider I think.
Aidan, beautiful photos of Mr Ragamews. So cute, yet so sophisti cat-ed too.
Joan, poor baby, I hope he/she survived.
Well, wotaday! I've met the people who have bought next door, they came to apologise for the noise (banging, drilling etc). They seem nice, but THEY WILL BE RENTING IT OUT. :?
Then the phone stopped working so I had to ring BT.
Rang dad on my mobile. He's had a biopsy on a lump on his arm!!
Jonathan and Dawn came to add to the fun!! Got to try and calm down now.

Hi to all, a lovely sunny day, m0150 m0150 with a nice breeze, so not melting too much
Hi Toni - Mother has been very detached from her usual self today, like Sleek, our puskins know you know. She even let me clipper some lugs, with no complaints (she did say, it's ok, Daddy skalped you yesterday - which she thought was hill hairy us )
It was nice that they both went out to shoot the breeze and catch some mists, that would be why Mother was shrieking at goodness knows what time
Pepe's gliding skills were second to none and Sleek loved to see him showing off t4591 t4591
Thank you for the hugs and love and rainbows, they are greatly appreciated. We are ok, have kept busy pottering today and am not a wreck, like I was last night :? :? t115006 t115006 Pepe could not be forgotten, he wouldn't allow it t4591 t4591
I spoke to our Niece late last night and she said she might not sleep well. Just messaged her now, to see how they are.
No, people that do this, care nothing of how the owners feel. Karma will come back and bite em.
Our neighbour, who used to work for the D Glazing firm, re measured our locks today, then said, I bought some for ours, and they are too big, I am sure they are the size for your doors - lo and behold, they were the perfect fit, so we have new anti snap, anti drill, anti bump and anti pick locks, on both doors. How amazing is that, pay the man quick he only charged trade price - £60 is worth it for some peace of mind.
Dad had his hair cut last week, so he is primped and done. Thank you, I do look 20 years younger In my dreams maybe
No, Djokovic is always trying to gain favour with the crowd, wanting the same reaction that Roger and Raffa get, well, you have to kind of earn than, over years and years. He will never be another Roger
I only had a couple of mushrooms too, I know Kath would be there any minute
Hi Joan and Sue, thank you for your kind words, it does not seem like a year has passed since we lost lovely Pepe. He was always the baby, I delivered him and his brothers and sisters. Tosca was a good Mum, for about 5 weeks, then I had to hand rear them all, she went off her children very quickly
That's good if there is a OA group in town, wonder if you could go, would they pick up and drop off?
Hi Kath - Oh Pepe knew he was a gorgeous boy and had me wrapped round his little paws, from a very early age.
You met the nice neighbours, but they are renting it out..........oh. We will hope that they only rent to very very nice people t115006 t115006
Then the phone went squiffy - oh dear :? :? Dad has had a biopsy on his arm  - do they think it might be a cyst, which are quite common?
Then Jonathan and Dawn came - gosh, you have had a busy time - feet up, dark room, cucumber on eyes, eating crispy mushrooms

Our village is looking smart and all the scarecrows are fabulous. A couple slightly cheated though with batman and spiderman outfits bought from ebay I think...??
Carol the pics are lovely (I'm not bored at all!) especially Rubie getting in the font!!!! I bet she didn't cry at all Now I see you together I can definitely see you in your girls
How kind doing you both a meal?! What lovely people they are!

We do have a lot of memories of Pepe and his adventures with Miss Sleekness. Thank you for the extra hugs, they are very welcome. We have been ok, keeping pottering and doing things, as you do.

Hi Barbara - so Daddy has "borrowed" your laptop, leaving you to use the phone - huh, tell him off
Thank you for the hugs, best to keep busy on such days. Pepe was highly skilled at carpet gliding t4591 t4591
The tennis was good, at least Dominic managed to take one set from Raffa. Raffa really is the King on clay courts. 12 times now, he has won Roland Garross.
Next will be Queens, which we love and then Wimbledon Toni is going to Wimbledon, not jealous at ALL :? much.
Our Niece didn't sleek well at all on Sat night, which is not surprising. I have spoken to her tonight and hopefully they will sleep better. Their landlord is very security conscious and the back door is already a composite one, with the anti everything locks. The front door is on order already and the locks are the more secure.
Waking up to find that someone has blow torched your locks, to try and get in, just horrid.
We feel better with the new locks in, care of Mandy's OH. Well worth £30 each.

Joan, well today couldn't be worse than yesterday could it?
BT are hoping the line should be fixed by midnight tomorrow (Tuesday) Obviously we would prefer it sooner but the fault is "in or near to our house" so they might have to send an engineer out !
Dad's doctor suspected cancer, but the lump had a hard white spot (which hurt) in the middle of it. That's gone now, and will be biopsied. So heres hoping the doc was wrong. Jonathan and Dawn have taken the phone number of Helen and her husband (new next door owners) so they can keep in touch, in case Dawn's daughter and her partner decide to take on the tenancy, as they live in a flat at the moment.

Does it keep? 2 Days
Ingredients
US Customary - Metric
SALAD
6 small red or yellow potatoes
1 cup green beans or haricot verts (trimmed)
1 head lettuce (chopped // such as butter, green or romaine)
1/2 cup pitted Nicoise, green, or kalamata olives
1/2 cup sliced tomato
1/2 medium red beet (optional // finely grated or sliced)
CHICKPEAS
1 15-ounce can chickpeas (1 15-ounce can equals ~1 1/4 cups cooked beans)
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp maple syrup (or stevia to taste)
1 tsp dried dill (or sub 2 tsp fresh dill per 1 tsp dried)
1 pinch sea salt
1 Tbsp roasted unsalted sunflower seeds
DRESSING
3 Tbsp minced shallot
1 heaping tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme (or sub 1/2 tsp dried thyme per 1 tsp fresh)
1/3 cup white or red wine vinegar
1/4 tsp each salt and pepper
1/4 cup olive oil
Instructions
Add potatoes to a small saucepan and add warm water until just covered. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat slightly to medium / medium-high until the water is at a low boil. Cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, or until completely tender and when picked up with a knife they slide off easily. Then drain thoroughly and let cool on a cutting board. Once slightly cooled, slice into 1/4-inch slices. Set aside.
While potatoes are cooking, fill a medium saucepan halfway with water and bring to a boil. Then add green beans or haricot verts and boil for 2-4 minutes, or until bright green in color and only slightly tender - they should still have slight crunch when bitten. While they're cooking, fill a large mixing bowl with ice water. Once the green beans are done cooking, drain thoroughly and immediately add to the ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain and pat dry - set aside.
Add drained, rinsed chickpeas to a small mixing bowl, along with sea salt, mustard, maple syrup, dill, and sunflower seeds. Stir to combine and mash a few chickpeas to create texture. Set aside.
Add dressing ingredients to a mason jar (or whisk in a small mixing bowl) and shake vigorously to combine. Set aside.
To serve, divide lettuce between two large serving bowls (amount as original recipe is written // adjust if altering batch size) or plates and top with chickpeas, green beans, potatoes, olives, tomato and beets (optional). Serve with dressing. Best when fresh, though leftovers pack/keep well up to 2 days when the dressing is stored separately. Store extra dressing (well-sealed) at room temperature in a dark place up to 2-3 days.

Hi Toni - Yes, Mother is brighter today, less wollowz today. She had me up from 7, shrieking and shouting
Mother was slightly miffed when she saw Sleek stifling a laugh, at her missing lugs :? :?
Poor friends Yorkie, hope her lump is not serious, extra sparkles and rainbows t115006 t115006 t115006
We are ok, keeping busy as usual. Feel much better with our strong locks
Niece who works in IT, at a grammar school, her boss has given her a security camera and recorder (from old school stock) how nice is that. Bless him all over. Anything to deter the rotters.
Dad said he had run out of pills last night (Sun), so somewhere along the line he has used a weeks worth, since last wed. So enough was enough, B made an urgent appt at the Drs and got in just after lunch.
With Dads new GP, who is V nice indeed. He was very caring and kind and did a memory test on Dad, B sat there and only said about the concerns we have. Upshot is serious concerns over the results of the test, so he is referring him to our local mini hospital, to the memory clinic.
Dad seemed ok with that. Things have to be sorted and moved forward. :? :?
We will carry on as normal, with our normal routines. He has pills, so that's ok.
Never a dull moment.
Hi Joan and Sue, don't worry, with all the chatting about our puskins, even I get confused. Tosca or Mother as we call her, is the only surviving one now. She is well over 19 years old. A stately Lady indeed.
Thank you for the hugs, they are always welcome. t4591 t4591 t4591
Hi Kath, so you have no phone until tomorrow night   what a pain, glad you have the mobiles :? :? sounds like an engineer will be appearing............they are around the park all the time, with the main box on the park dating back to the mid 1960's
I hope that the GP was wrong, but, best to get the lump checked out fully - sending extra ((()))
That would be good if Dawn's daughter might want to take on the tenancy for the house next door. You would feel a lot better, knowing that they were there. XX
Glad you liked the bread, it was yummy
Loving the salad, I am all over it, just let me get some crusty bread and a teeny weeny :? :? bit of butter
Time is eluding me again...............so I will have another catch up later on tonight.
Love to Barbara, Carol, Mig and all our friends

Evening all
Been raining all day here so not very nice however I did go out. only thing is the damp weather also makes my knee and back more painful.
Thank you al for your nice comment about the pictures they were from the batch Mr t took. on his ipad.
Barbara Weather not tennis weather here at the moment as we are expecting lots of rain. the Christening dress is beautiful and all three girls have worn it was brought for Lillie so this was its 3rd outing. Oh yes the antics of little ones I love them. no its only Mr T and myself going to Weymouth everyone else is working. youngest Gd will have finished college but she works during holidays and after college. she is quite the young lady now. and although she I still technically a minor at 17 until next February when she is 18 she Is very grown up.
Toni You are quite right Rubie did not cry at all she loves water a real water baby as are her sisters. the vicar was trying to say her bit and she kept laughing at the little madams antics.
Eldest is more like me youngest is more like Mr T. but yes you can see they are sisters. as are me and my sister. The meal at church was for anyone who wanted to join them there were about 12 -15 of us altogether.
Joan thank you yes we have some great photos of the christening not all are family some are friends of my GD and daughter hope you and Sue are ok.
Aidan poppy seed bread mmm very nice indeed. Rubie at one point was trying to put her hands in the water I was standing right behind Mr t while he was taking the photos round the font and could see it all on his ipad yes our church congregation is very small now mainly older people. I can remember a time when we had a large congregation, a thriving Sunday school and girls and boys brigade companies. oh how times have changed.
Your welcome to the extra hugs I know what it is like when those days come around animals sure become part of the family very quickly.
Kath thank you we do have some great photos of the christening. hope he doctors are wrong about your dad.
Here are more photos

Hi to all - a bit of rain, a lot more expected tomorrow t111055 t111055
We are both off to sunny or rainy Skipton, for our eyes testing, we are two years overdue :? :? :? I am as blind as a mole and B has a slight change in his vision on his left eye, so that needs checking asap.
Hi barbara - glad you have your own laptop back in your hands
Wimbledon is looming large, cannot wait. We have tennis tv as well as the ones that they show on normal tv, so we can watch every tournament through the year
Just nattering to our niece, as well as writing here, there are plenty of other family around, but no one else even asked if they were ok. But, that's how families work sometimes    We just ignore any silly politics and carry on, we don't get involved and don't suffer any bickering.
She will be ok, her GF is very supportive too. We will be meeting up with them in a week or so.
Ah, Beatrice went to the GC this morning Beth was just starting, obviously upset at her car being broken into. Bless her. We had our usual Beth specials, then I had ferrero rocher ice cream, but no cake
Salad is alien food, I agree with Mr B not really, I don't mind it at all.
Sorry your eye is bad, some extra t115006 t115006 to help ease it.
Hi Carol - so you are having lots of wet weather. I think it is heading up to us for today, a wet wet day by all accounts t111055 t111055 will need brolly's in Skipton.
Rubie was a cutie, wanting to be in the font and the Vicar chuckling at her antics. t4591 t4591
Dad used to have a laugh sometimes, when he was doing Christenings, some children screamed their heads off and some were good as gold.
You are so alike, your Sister and your good self.
I am glad there were quite a few at the Church, for the meal.
It is sad, when you see Churches becoming empty, there was always Sunday School, lots of things going on, it was the hub of the village or town. Some are still thriving, but the numbers are fewer. Sad to see.
The Church looked very nice, for the Christening service and the lady Vicar very pleasant too.
I can see the helping hands
Loving the pictures, you are so like your Sister.
Thank you for sharing them, we like pictures to see t4591 t4591
Hi Toni, hope you are all ok. Sleek was over at siesta time, watching SYTTD - I think Mother nodded off at one stage, bless her t4591 t4591 Sleek doesn't mind, she just lets her rest.
Well, we have to be up early, so I had better make a move and potter about, before bed time.
No doubt we will be in Nero's, after the eye tests and no doubt new glasses for moi.  8) 8)
Leaving lots of love and sparkles to everyone t4591 t115006 t115006 Take care all. XXXX Aidan

Morning everyone it's t111055 here :?
Skipton in the rain eh? you'll enjoy that Aidan Mum will find you a parking space close by. I bet B needs his eyes sorted to do all his crafting work.
Thanks for the bacon and egg pastry - it's lovely! Kath will love it!
Families are odd I must say, but after an experience like that I would have expected the family to check in on your niece :? Glad her gf is there for her at least. Poor Beth too having her car broken into :x
We have salad in the summer (what's summer???) most days. Charley has lost a stone while she's here with us already!! But we ring the changes...sometimes with a bit of crustless quiche sometimes with baked spud etc...
We have tickets for Wimbledon this year!!!! will fill you in when so you can all look for me!!
At Charley and Lucy's Baptism (I waited until both were here!) she told everyone that we had cake at home!! I have it on video t4591
Our Church is struggling which is why we do so much fundraising. ...worried about it's future when The Rev D retires. That's soon too
Sleek said Mother had nodded of while they were watching SYTTD - Sleek just checks she is comfy and sits back pops another sweet into her mouth :animal_busy: Same again today it's far too wet for Tosca's bones so she says.
Will check in on the Yorkie today thanks for the sparkles for her.
I am very pleased Dad is going to go to the memory clinic. I think he needs his dosette ASAP but at least he told you he rai
n out I suppose
The choccy cheesecake went down very well with some rhoddas ta v much t4591
Enjoy your Nero's have a falafel wrap for me!
Carol 12-15 of you for the meal? What generous people doing that for everyone. Still the congregation can become like family especially these days with numbers dwindling.
Charley was a character at her Christening too. The vicar probably loved having Rubie there all smiles she might be the family entertainer the youngest often is! Thanks Lillie for helping the Vicar! Those girls always look lovely
Charley and Lucy don't look very alike oddly despite having the same parents Lucy looks very like me (poor girl) and Charley like her Father. Yours are definitely sisters no one could argue with that! As for you and your sister! wow could be twins like Joan and Sue!
Now Barbara Paul once failed a drugs test on site due to poppy seed bread!!!! Luckily he didn't fail the follow up blood test on the same day just the wee one! Just be careful
Poor Niamh it's horrible being clumsy. You can't help it one day she will gain better control of her body as she gets older bless her.
Annoying when you eyesight lets you down....amongst other things
Kath I hope the line fault is 'their' problem not in your house :? either way that it gets fixed ASAP
It would be lovely if Dawn's daughter took on the tenancy next door That would be great - nice neighbours!
That vegan nicoise salad looks yum ta v muchly!
Fingers crossed Dad's lump is nothing ((())) for you.
Hi Joan do you have rain? We have since yesterday afternoon  Hope there's a way you can get to the OA group it would be nice. I must take the other scarecrow's photos!
Love to everyone
