No, things are a little quieter this afternoon thank you Aidan. So I'm assuming things will be at the usual tortuous levels again on Monday - the electricians (or sparks as they call themselves) will be back then. I enjoyed a little stroll round your GC, even vsited the cafe for a Beth special. :D I see Medvedev has been knocked out at Queens, (like I care 8) ) Thank you for the butterfly sparkles and Fresh Blueberry Brioche

As I'm feeling rather ouchy and tired, I'll just send love to all and wave byebye for now. t4591 t4591 t4591 t4591 t4591

Hugs for our Kath ((())) take it steady our friend

I hope you feel better day by day.

Joan thank you Lucy's foot under the boot is pretty nasty looking bless her.

Aidan shes in again tonight but then shes hot a few days off.

Sleek did indeed pick Tosca up early doors. The nymphs are concerned; it only stopped raining a matter of days ago but already the flooding has gone and their stream is within its banks.

Therefore the mists they have collected this morning are going to be used to make a gossamer protection film.....or something like that :?

Glad Dad was over this morning. He rarely forgets food at least!!!

The GC looks very very posh indeed

We have had major sunshine m0150 today it's been lovely :)

Sleek has loved it bless her shes out till about 8pm with it being so light at night.

Tomorrow she and Tosca are watching Love Island with everyone on it fully dressed of course for Mother's sensibilities....

I bet Niamh is over today...skating tomorrow in this heat....unless Barbara has a paddling pool 5

Off to take Lucy back to work in a bit.

    Love to everyone

    Evening all

Someone has indeed turn the heating on outside Aidan it's been hot here today Blue skies not a cloud to be seen, and due to get hotter over the next week. we were out on way to open morning at just gone 8.30am without a coat it was lovely. well one week 2 days to holiday. so looking forward to it as long as Mr T doesn't have any grumpy moods while we are away he doesn't normally.

Aidan Blueberry Brioche very tasty yum sorry if I left any crumbs about I tried not too. Mr T is ok at the moment no magic red slippers needed at the moment but who knows how long will it last it is hard to say. As we say technology is only good when it works.:lol: open day was one of those hit and miss days
when no one comes in. No we had had our tea before daughter arrived. GC lost very very nice indeed. its nice Dad is getting used to his daily pills being delivered to him by B. those fudge waffles were...….. well lets say I needed the booth after I did set it to clean for the next one. it can get hot in the church when its hot but on the whole it is quite cool.

Toni tough girl is Lucy working with a broken foot. is there no stopping her I think not. hope she was ok when you collected her.

Joan it so annoys me when the internet goes in the middle of something and what you have written you loose.

Kath Sorry you have the ouchies hope you get some relief soon.

Barbara Glad to hear Niamh's eye is better and she dose love her bacon butties oh dear and her bread was toasted. it was nice to have a surprise visit from daughter I must admit.

well I must potter now and make the jelly for my trifle for dinner time tomorrow.
will post some more piccies next time

Hi to all - rather warm. Just about keeping myself from melting moments t4591 t4591

Hi Kath, glad things were quiet for you on Saturday. The sparks are back on Monday, to shatter the peace

I am glad you had a lovely stroll around our GC, it is nice and level, (most of it), they have a little open lift, to take you down to the interiors section, where you can spend squillions in about 10 minutes

A Beth special, good for you, they are very yummy, with lots of mayo of course :) Extra calcium :)

You are welcome to the butterfly sparkles. Some more sparkles, with lots of ((((()))) to feel better soon. t4591 t4591

    fd13ce67a3fb8c5c72964c8fb1a64bff.gif

Hi Toni - I will have to be nosy and take a peek at Lucy's foot, bless her. Sleek said it was brewzzed   Hope she takes it steady tonight, then rests it, Matron's request :)

The Nymphs are all at sea, the streams dry up so quickly, to nothing more than a drip, in mid summer. After all the rain the other week, we could hear them, pouring with water. All or nothing.
I think they are making a little lake section, like a mini reservoir. Mother called it a reza voire' - she is SO posh :lol::lol:

Having seen our weather warnings, Mother went to see them, via the gate, to inform them of impending storms, with thunda and lytennyng t111055 t111055

They have a protection film in place, thunderstorm proof.

Sleek was chatting to Mother, saying that she had been out in her garden until quite layt, then Mummy wanted her safely indoors. t4591

Dad rang, just to check if he was doing anything, I think he knew it was croissants etc, but wanted the reassurance. He enjoyed watching some of the tennis from Queens.

The GC has a very good reputation, I can remember going about 30 years ago, it was a bit different then. You would adore the interiors section, it is huge, all set out in gorgeous rooms areas. The kitchens are out of this world too.

When we win the lottery, we will be there, in a flash, for a private viewing :lol::lol::lol: we will have that, and those and that and these.............  dream on Aidan

With the weather turning inclement, Sleek and Mother will enjoy Love Island, transport only by the gates, Hermione is always dithery when storms are on route.

Hi Barbara - yep, it is summer, all of a sudden. We knew it would arrive sooner or later

Glad you enjoyed the waffles and ice cream as well as the Brioche. We have to have our treats.

I will take a couple more pics of the GC next time we are there, (Monday most likely)
That's good for Niamh not to dwell on having a poorly eye, not liking too much fuss.

A complaint, to the kitchen, Mr B toasted the bread, oh dear  :? :?

Dad is fine with his pills being take round to him now. We do our best to make sure he is as ok as possible.

The tennis has been excellent today. Lopez has played two lots of doubles with Andy and won, plus he played a singles match and won that too, now he has to play the singles final and the doubles final on Sunday..........go Feliciano, he is the Hero of the week. Andy is doing so well, getting his confidence back and playing some excellent tennis.

Wimbledon, cannot wait, hope he does well, he is only playing doubles. I think singles would be step too far.

My bones are much worse in the hot weather, I feel like I am blowing up like a balloon :o

I bet you had to go over the windows again, bless her, she loves to help out, does Niamh. t4591 t4591

Hi Carol - I bet you enjoyed the blue skies, wall to wall sunshine and a nice little walk to the Church.

One week and one day now, then off on your jolly's :)

I will put the rube red slippers back in their box, for now. Just shout and they will be in your hall in no time. Good that they are not needed to lessen any grumps.

Sorry no one came in for the open day, hit and miss, as you say. The booth looked immaculately clean. I had to use it too, face first into the waffles, what a mess :lol:

If you want to have a good nosy at the GC, here is their website

    https://www.shackletonslifestyle.co.uk/#

Did you say trifle, oooooh, I will ring Toni, she will bring the bus, don't mind if we join you do you :D:D:D

Goodness, I have rambled on ad infinitum    sorry if anyone has nodded off, I won't be offended :lol: :animal_busy:

I will have another potter, a few pots to throw about in the kitchen.

Leaving lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 take care XXXX Aidan

It's amazing what a day of peace and quiet can do. Thank you for putting up with me wobbles (mental and otherwise). No noise today thank goodness, but they will be back tomorrer. Also sorry about not leaving anything tasty - to add insult to injury.

Aidan, the new sparkly is gorgeous. I hope you aren't melting too much in this heat. s020.gif Thank you for the Cheese and Sweetcorn Fritters.

Carol, I should keep the red slippers handy just in case. My ouchies are a lot better today thank you, I think it was partially due to being so tense while the drilling etc was going on. MMM, jelly and trifle, is there space for two more round your table? t4591 t4591

Barbara, so glad to hear Niamh's eyes are better and she polished for you, bless, but it went on the window whoops.

Toni, thank you for the hugs, much appreciated. I'm glad to hear that Lucy's got a few days off, give her chance to rest her poorly foot a bit. s020.gif

    VEGAN CHOCOLATE GANACHE DRIP RECIPE
To decorate a 6" or 8" layer cake
100g dark chocolate, chopped (most brands' dark chocolate, with at least 70-80% cocoa, are vegan friendly but do check the ingredients label to be certain)

    50g vegetable shortening/margarine/coconut oil

    1. Set a double-boiler over medium heat (ie a saucepan with a few inches of water in - make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water). Melt the vegan chocolate gently, stirring slowly.

    2. Once all the vegan chocolate is melted, take off the heat and mix in the shortening/margarine/coconut oil, a teaspoon at a time, and stir to melt. The vegan ganache is ready when all the margarine has melted in to make a shiny glaze and is at 30 degrees Celsius.

    3. The trick to make sure your vegan ganache drip doesn't melt your frosting is to make sure your frosted vegan cake is cool, so place the whole frosted cake into the fridge or freezer for a good few minutes before glazing it. The frosting should be firm to the touch before glazing with the drip.

    4. Place the cake on a turntable and spoon the glaze along the edge of the vegan cake. Now slowly push a bit of the glaze over the edge with the back of the spoon and continue to do this all the way around. It looks nicer when drips aren't uniform so you can push a bit more and a bit less as you go along.

    5. Once all the sides of the cake are dripped over, spoon more of the glaze into the centre of the cake and flood to cover and smooth over the top.

Afternoon to all :) Breezy, but very warm, with ominous looking skies over Pendle way :? :? :?

Hi Joan and Sue - we have expensive taste, without a doubt, just need the deep pockets to go with it :? :?:lol: It is lovely to have a meander around the interiors section - an old family friend, who was a Harley St Dr (he knew my Dad well). Are those cheese and sweetcorn fritters just the BEST thing or what, I cannot stop eating them

I am ok, melting moment wise, there is a nice breeze today, blowing through from the lounge to the kitchen :) Not sure about later in the week when this Saharan Bubble reaches its highest temperatures

Now, I might need the booth, for one of those chocolate drip cakes :D:D:D Ta muchly.

Lucy broke her foot falling downstairs at her friends house Joan. Foot up today.

Aidan we've had a bad day here in the village. I spotted 1st thing that some of our planting was vandalized overnight. Turns out there was more. Emergency plants have been bought and replanted. My back is sore now though.

Sleek and Mother are v angry about the plants suspecting the next village  I dont think so at all. Either way Tosca is considering CCTV cameras. Closed cat television. Sleek was planning revenge but Tosca talked her out of it. 'Two wrongs dont make a right'. Rise above it young Sleek you are better than that

She calmed down watching SYTTD and Love Island. Clothes on of course. Mother duly Zzzzd and Sleek popped a blanket over her solicitously.

Your GC is very posh. Is it independent like Barbara's?

Barbara we have two here both independent but knew big big posh one too.

Glad your meal made up for the staff one :)

Kath we dont need to put up with you at all. We understand how you feel. ((()))

Anyway with cake like that! We'd forgive ANYTHING!!!!

Going to have a hot shower now to sort out my back!

Hi to all - it is VERY t111055 t111055 at the moment, sending a note to Auntie Kari, just to put the Ark on standby :? :?

No thunder or lightning, so far :? :?

Hi Barbara - Am I right in thinking a pair of magical slippers would come in handy for Mr B :) your wish, is my command

I like these, I even modelled them for you - sorry about the hairy legs, no time to wax today  :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Plush-Unicorn-Slippers-for-Grown-Ups-2.jpg

But we like to go to posh GC and look at all the lovely things, we don't have to buy them, looking is great fun too. :D:D

Your GC looks lovely, Mandy has been there with her friend, who lives not so far from you. I remember her talking about it. I had to go straight to the restaurant and cakes bit on the website :D:lol::lol:
It is very similar to ours

The tennis from Queens has been fabulous this last week. Andy has teamed up with Lopez, who is the hero of the week, he has played more matches than anyone else, winning the singles title, then Andy and Lopez winning the doubles title, just amazing tennis

I think he is keeping his Lopez partnership at Wimbledon - Jamie has a new partner for his doubles, cannot remember his name........

Thur through Sat will be our hottest days, no wonder your GD is not looking forward to the heat, down in London - we don't like 30 degrees at all

That was good of them at your favourite pub, to give you a free meal, for messing you about last week. Do they have a website, I could drool over the menu :lol:

Hi Toni, good to hear that Lucy has been resting her foot today. t115006 t115006

How dare they, whoever it is that is so rotten as to vandalise the planting in your village :o:o :? :? :x :x

I bet you back is sore, after emergency plants and subsequent planting, to restore order...............

That would be why Sleek had Mothers old spell book out, she was pawing through it, trying to find a spell of revenge. Mother did indeed talk her out of direct revenge, but the CCTV is in place and they have cast a spell of warts, on those who did the damage.. Mother said they won't last for long, but it will give them the heebie jeebies t115006 t115006 :D:D

They were both super annoyed though.

Yes, our GC is independent, it started off small and has grown leaps and bounds over the years.

Time I was moving - some pottering will not go amiss. All the excitement of the tennis, has worn me out

Off to the GC this morning, with Dad. B had been round earlier in the day to sort his pills and pot up some plants he bought last week.

I am very impressed with Tosca's temporary wart spell that's a good idea  I'm a bit scared to go and check now all the plants to see whether they have been tampered with....

The tennis has indeed been fabulous. I think I am off to Wimbledon very soon too. So good Andy's hip has recovered amazingly well. Probably largely due to string muscles in his legs. :?

The girls are going over to Mrs D's today Mrs D has had visitors down from Scotland and needs help 'getting straight'. One flick of Tosca's wand should sort that I should think...?

Thanks for the sparkles they have really helped overnight t115006 Keep them coming though if you can we all seem to need them ATM!

A quick woo-ooo! to Joan did you read about our village having some of our plants vandalised? Lucy is ok after breaking her foot falling down her friend's stairs  the boot matches her old sling when she had her new shoulder!!

Toni, I have been on the phone to Rosie, we are all totally outraged about your damaged plants. Rosie has assembled an army of her biggest and hairiest spids, they are currently marching up to your neighbouring village and will rampage all the houses there. Strict instructions to skirt around your village, but not to enter it at all. All Rosie's own idea. (Rosie letting rip.u055.gif)

Aidan we had the most horrendous thunderstorm and torrential downpour during last night. t111055 t111055 t111055 We was terrified mi duck. Gorgeous sparkles, goodness knows we need them. Thank you for the Blueberry Oatmeal Bake too.

Barbara, electricians are back today. They came round to warn us of their working today, not too bad at the moment but tomorrow will be worse. :o

Joan and Sue, I hope the rain missed you. Parts of Nottingham (the next city along) are flooded. :?

    Vegan Crepes
    Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour or spelt flour
2 1/4 cups unsweetened oat, soy, or almond milk
    2 1/4 cups sparkling water
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon natural vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons brown sugar or coconut sugar
    1 teaspoon ground flaxseeds
    1 pinch salt
    Instructions
Combine the dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Melt the coconut oil in a small pot on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Add the sparkling water, the plant-based milk, the coconut oil, the lemon juice, and the vanilla extract. If you want to eat your crepes with a savory filling, leave out the sugar and the vanilla extract.

Stir the batter well with a whisk until there are no lumps left.

Heat some oil in a large non-stick pan (it should be only lightly oiled) and bake one crepe at a time. Use about 1/4 to 1/2 cup for each crepe depending on the size of your pan. Quickly swirl, so the batter covers the entire bottom of your pan.

Stack the ready crepes on a plate and put them in the oven at around 140 °F. This way they will keep warm until you're finished making all of the crepes.

It's important to use a non-stick pan for the vegan crepes. This way they won't stick and they will be easy to flip.
In order to avoid burning, you should prepare the crepes using medium heat. Of course this varies a bit depending on your oven. So try medium heat and then carefully adjust the heat.

Oatmeal is indeed a great super food Toni. Fruit too, so we are covering at least one of our 5 a day.

Loving the GC and the second one too, the cakes look good :lol: you have to get your priorities right :lol:

Cyril's sounds a lovely place to have coffee and cakes :) When are we going :D:D

I do hope all the plants are ok today, Mother is feeling very pleased with herself after casting the wart spell.

We are on to the tennis from Eastbourne now, that is a nice tournament, I like Eastbourne. Went there to the Royal College of Nursing annual meeting. Sat on the next table in a cafe, to Christopher Timothy :)

Andy is doing remarkably well, he has good solid muscle mass and great core strength, all help when it comes to recovery times.

I bet you cannot wait, to get to Wimbledon :) we will be watching for you, if I see you I will shriek  :lol:

Tosca enjoyed her visit to Mrs D's, via the gate (torrential rain this morning, early on).

She thinks she is Mary Poppins, "spit spot" a flick and everything was back in its rightful place. I asked her to do that here, but she said you make the mess, you sort it out  :lol::lol: Thanks Mother.

We certainly all need as many sparkles as possible, let me find some, one sec............................

    f9e7b02e30dd0b1150ad733aa00d7c73.gif

Glad they helped overnight - :) The butterfly ones will help us all too.

Hi Joan and Sue - you do feel a lot lighter when you have less hair and when it is humid, it is essential to let the heat out   (((())))

Hope you are enjoying the warm weather, I see it is going to get much warmer by the week end :? :?

Hi Kath - an army of hairy spi---s on the way round the villages near Toni, seeking out the naughty folk that damaged the plants. Spid--s and warts, that should put them off for a good while :lol::lol: it would put be off for life..........

We had a good deal of rain last evening and then torrential rain about 4am. No thunder though. By 9am everywhere was nearly bone dry again  We have weather warnings for storms, which can bubble up from nowhere.

Glad the electricians have been round and mentioned the noise. Forewarned is a bit more forearmed - (((()))) that is is all finished as soon as possible and peace can return. Sending (((()))) of quietness :) t4591

Whereabouts was flooded in Nottingham? Just out of curiosity. I did look at the Nottm Evening Post, but could not find it...........

Thank you for the lovely crepes, perfect, for everyone :)

Hi Mike - glad you have found the cafe and help yourself to as many crepes as you desire, they are totally calorie free :) Treats are a daily event here.

Hi to Barbara - hope you are not melting, I have had a few moments so far today. I think the washing is getting wetter, the longer it is outside    Did the slippers fit Mr B :lol::lol:
    t115006 t115006

Hi to Carol - a more relaxing day today :) Hope Mr T is ok as well - is it today that you were going out with your Daughter............I seem to remember, but, can quiet easily forget

We had a nice brunch at the GC, Dad and I had Mac Cheese pots, (only smallish pots, but very nice - chips with mine, then I went back to my old favourite, a scone :) B had a Beth special :)

Time I was pottering a little. I will pop back later. Leaving lots of love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 t115006 XXXX Aidan

I think I just saw the Ark floating past again......

Who is this? a065.gif Hopefully Sleek's Auntie Kari will rescue whoever it is

I wonder if she would like some Portuguese rice muffins for all her 'guests'.

The only upside is the air is back again. I was out at a fundraiser for our town's shopmobility scheme last night. Luckily my favourite curry :)

Cyril was the founder f the nursery Aidan and the tea room is the best ever. It's full of antiques al mismatched cups and saucers all proper china of course...teapots with tea cosies too. The cakes are to die for and the veggie breakfast could feed the Ark

No problems with the plants yesterday I think the spell must have worked - well done Tosca and apprentice Sleek :) I must say not very helpful when it comes to cleaning your bungalow up :? no spit spot for you  At least her 'rooms' are always immaculate.

Oh you must look out for me I will check with Paul which court we are on. Last time I went we were on youtube so there's hope! Sleek and Tosca are planning on watching all day so there could be a LOT of shrieking!!

Thank you for the butterfly sparkles I think we all needed them very helpful indeed.

Oh my goodness Kath!! the S****r team are certainly on the warpath

Rosie looked livid I hope she didn't burst a blood vessel :?

The rain is here now the sky went a very scary colour yesterday evening and then well it really came down. Good really things were dry again

the vegan crepes are a bit like our Staffordshire oatcakes t4591 yum ta v much :)

Mike1 welcome to the café if you like food you'll be happy here. Feel free to add anything you like to your crepes. :D

Hi Joan I know it's not nice stealing our plants is it? I hope you haven't got this rain else those poor dogs won't be happy :(

Love to Barbara - who ha maybe 4 Grandchildren? Have I counted right....??? :? :? :?

and Carol who must be busy getting ready for their hols by now....

and mig who will soon be back in with us now t4591

Barbara, it's difficult to tell morning from night with this weather, it's so dark all the time. The electricians are still busy next door. I think most of the noisy jobs should be finished today, but I think they will be here all week.

I'm sitting beneath the waterfall munching Portuguese Rice Muffins, ta Aidan. It looks as though Rosie's boys are still on the march. I never did find out which parts of Nottngham was flooded.

Hi Mike, I'm glad you enjoyed the crepes.

HOW TO MAKE A VEGAN PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE
    INGREDIENTS
    For the Topping:

1/4 cup (56g) Vegan Butter (Melted)
    1/2 cup (100g) Brown Sugar
    10–12 Pineapple Slices (Canned)
    15–20 Maraschino Cherries
    For the Cake:

1 and 3/4 cups (220g) All Purpose Flour
    1 cup (200g) White Sugar
    1 tsp Baking Soda
    1/2 tsp Salt
    3/4 cup (180ml) Soy Milk*
1/4 cup (60ml) Pineapple Juice (reserved from the can or use fresh)
    2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/3 cup (80ml) Extra Virgin Olive Oil*
    1 Tbsp White Vinegar*
    INSTRUCTIONS
Spray a 9-inch cake pan with non-stick spray.
Melt the vegan butter and then pour it out into the bottom of the cake pan and spread it around so it lines the bottom evenly.
Sprinkle the brown sugar over the melted butter and spread it around evenly.
Then layer the pineapple slices along the bottom. Cut some slices in half and use those to go up along the sides (see our photo).
Place maraschino cherries everywhere you find a gap.
Set the prepared cake pan aside while you prepare your cake batter.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Sift the flour into a mixing bowl and add the white sugar, baking soda and salt and mix together.
Then add in the soy milk, pineapple juice, vanilla, oil and vinegar and whisk together with a hand whisk until just combined.
Pour out over the pineapple slices and smooth down with the back of a spoon.
Place into the oven and bake for 55 minutes. Bring it out at the 30 minute mark and cover loosely with foil and return to the oven for another 25 minutes. The foil will prevent it from over-browning.
It’s ready when a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean (don’t push it too far down or you’ll hit the base and then the toothpick won’t come out clean even if it is ready).
Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a plate or cake stand.
To flip it, place a plate or cake stand against the cake pan and then flip it so that the cake pan is upside down on top of the plate or cake stand. Let it sit for a few seconds for the caramelized brown sugar to run down over the sides of the cake, and then lift the cake pan off.
    Slice and enjoy.
    NOTES
*Almond milk can be used instead of soy milk.

*You can use a different vegetable oil like canola if you prefer.

t111055 t111055 Steady rain this morning and into the afternoon - not the deluge that some areas have had.

hope everyone is ok, I know Auntie Kari is out and about in the Ark, should anyone need her, just cooo eeee :D:D

I am not sure who it is Toni, on the bobbing boat - not me, or I would be :mrgreen: Is it Kath? I know Nottingham had some flash floods yesterday

The air is back today, you are right. It was horrid last night, like breathing warm steam

Curry, mmmm, maybe not last night, or I would have combusted

Loving the sounds of the GC, with the fabulous T Rooms, all home cooking and cakes to drool over, then eat :)
Tea Cosies too, my Mum would be VERY impressed. Veggie breakfast times 2 please and thank you t4591 t4591

Mother is keeping the spell of warty hands going, at least until you win the BKVillage Good that no more plants have been disturbed.

I must clip a few more lugs from Mother, while she is resting on her blankies. :? :?

Oh we will look out for you at Wimbledon, we watch it cover to cover and I am sure Sleek and Mother will shriek if they catch a glimpse :D:D

We do need to keep the sparkles going strong - most necessary for us all.

Mother Glitter Sparkles said I had to put her namesake on.....................:lol: t115006 t115006

I think Sleek is coming over at siesta time, they are going to try the sleepy spell again. It didn't work at all yesterday, wands wafting all over and I was still wide awake    Mother has borrowed a spell book from Hermione  :? :?

Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are both ok (((()))) We are having a quiet day at home, well, B went round to Dads, with his pills, Dad was ok, watching tv, quite happy away. Thank you (())

Hi Barbra, it was still morning when you posted

Last night was super humid, I don't mind warm weather so much, but humidity - not a bit. The AC might well be coming out later this week when it reaches it's hottest.

We have a breeze, from lounge through to kitchen, which is nice. Just right today.

Lovely that your Niece called yesterday and you had a good laugh together, always a tonic t4591 t4591

By all means, head off to the waterfall, it is tepid water, not ice cold, so no thermal shocks
I know, I should have waxed, didn't have time :lol: so Mr B won't wear slippers at all..............oh dear, we will have to enlighten him, saves stubbing toes.

Not sure about me not being grumpy, it does happen :? :?  it's an age thing, as you say. Mid life crisis or whatever they call it. :? :?

I have had a nosy at the Nevison Inn. All the pictures of the food look wonderful and it gets great reviews on Trip Adviser :) Real chips, you cannot beat them, roasties too mmmmm

It was macaroni pot, like a ramekin dish (slightly bigger), with Mac Cheese and crusty topping, salad and sough dough bread. Very nice too, it is not often on the special board.

Yes, I remember Mandy saying how lovely the GC was, but how pricey things were, much like ours.

I hope Mike enjoys the cafe, as you say, we are all uber friendly, a bit off the wall, but, it takes the pains away for a while. Some might say as mad as hatters - but, so what eh.:lol:

It did go very dark at one point this morning Kath - hope you have not had any troubles with deluges of rain...........Sun has just come out, nearly blinding me

Good that the noisy jobs will be finished today, then a little more peace t4591 t69044

Nice under the waterfall, mind you rice cakes don't get soggy   at least if you get in a mess, you can just sit there and take a shower t111055 t111055 :lol:

Ta duck, for the upside down cake, very nice, I will pop round and get some clotted cream from Toni's stash :)

Some sparkles for any ouches t115006 t115006 t4591 t4591 we need to keep them minimal whenever possible :)

Hi to Carol, less than a week to go now..........exciting, have you packed yet, bucket and spade too :) m0150 m0150

A quick visit before bed....blimey it's been a wet day

I hope it wasn't mig floating about  or Carol :? Kath and Barbara you and me, Aidan have all been in so we're ok... :? Oh no!! Not Mike1! he's only been here 5 minutes:shock: :o

Two veggie breakfasts coming up from Cyril's you'll be full up after those ::)

Mother Glitter sparkles needed her picture of the original MGS in light of the lugs you trimmed out. She'll get her revenge with that spell book in her possession!

Sleek came over on her broomstick so apologies for the puddle under the airer where her mackintosh and sou'wester were dripping...…

Kath I very much hope it's quieter next door soon

Yes the s*****s are still here. You can hear a low rumble of multiple feet marching. Thanks Rosie!

Now that upsidedown cake looks Yum..... t4591

Muggy here Barbara but rained all day still at it now  How good it is for us to have a belly laugh. Your niece sounds so lovely :)

It is 4 G'daughters then I thought it was - they all count don't they even if they are technically step. Tia is step, but still mine.

    Hi to all :)

So you have had a wet wet day Toni. We ended up with sunshine to finish the afternoon, not too hot either.

It cannot have been Mike on the boat, surely not, out to sea after enjoying the crepes   There is a rescue going on as we speak, so all should be well

    o015.gif

Looking forward to the veggie breakfast. Will there be room for a teeny cake :D:D

I think Mother and Sleek put a strange sleepy spell on me, one of Hermione's :? :?  I woke up in such a lather, thought I had a fever

Sleek says that Mother has been showing her age. Needing to be petted and fussed over t4591 t4591 Sleek was very good with her at nap time. Once they put a spell on me, they watched the shopping channels and dozed too. t115006

I wondered why there was a puddle in the hall -

Hoping that the plants are all in place, is it village tidy up day today? t69044 t69044

The heatwave over Europe is quite scary. I remember the 2003 one, it was our first summer after moving to France. It got up to 45 C in our village, it was just crazy hot, no AC, just fans. You soon realise why so many houses have small windows and shutters.
Praying people can keep safe. I know that there are going to be "cool" places for people to go to, that are air conditioned. t4591

Hi Carol, hope you are all ok. I think it is going to get pretty hot in the south, take lots of care. Not long now until your holidays m0150 m0150
How is Mr T :? all gadgets working as they should, keeping a cool head :)

Mig was having braised Liver tonight, I hope she enjoyed it. Extra strength for you Mig t115006 t115006

We have been catching up with the tennis from Eastbourne. :D:D

Off to the T rooms, via the Drs, to gather B's pills. Some shopping, no other plans made.

    Time for some sparkles :)

I had my back operation summer 2003 Aidan :? It was lucky I was in an old house at the time so pretty cool most of the rime and not trying to work. You must have nearly melted away m0150 'trop chaud'.

The year we went to France for 3 weeks between Lucy's chemo's it got up to over 40 and was almost unbearable so those poor people    I am very worried indeed for them all. Shutters need to be shut firmly and plenty of liquid need to be consumed :? :? h020.gif

It's still overcast here, but set to brighten up soon I think. How are your blinds doing? Our awning should be here soon I think was it the 7th July? somewhere around there....

Yes I am sure you can squeeze a 'small' slice of cake in after the veggie breakfast(s) I am having those roasted potato and cheese tots yum ta v much :D

The sleepy spell they did on you this times was a Hermione special (a bit like a Beth special) works every time!
I was told the same about Mother. :animal_busy: She gets tired now although she can still be pretty alert when needed so don't try cutting out too many lugs at one time  Sleek likes the shopping channel, but even she ended up asleep head rested on Tosca's side.....ahhhh!

I hope Bs pills are all present and correct and you are soon off to the Tea rooms :)

Thanks for the sparkles I am sending mine up to Kath as I am doing ok atm :)

Morning to Joan. I hope it stops raining soon enough for us to get on with some village titivating before the July judges come

    Love to everyone
