AIDAN!!!! I don't want to see that thermometer or hear about the heat. I'm sitting in my back living room (the sun is round the front) keeping quite cool. Holly popped to the shop for us and we gave her a small amount to spend on the kiddies, which she has now taken on West Park for the afternoon where there is a splash pad. I hope she's smothered them and herself with Factor whatever the highest number is. Aw, you've made us a cuppa, you're forgiven. t4591

Oh Toni, a Syringe driver! The very name fills me with horror and sadness... back in a bit.....sorry, I needed the loo.  Anyway, I hope the Syringe Driver relieves Paul's mum of all her pain so she can enjoy her last days. g045.gif

    Herbed Quinoi Salad

    ngredients
    2 cups (16 floz / 480ml) water
    3 1/2 cups (7 oz / 200g) quinoa
    1 tsp sea salt
    3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, peeled and finely chopped
2 tbsp flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
1/2 tsp each fresh rosemary and fresh thyme, finely chopped
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    2 fresh basil leaves, shredded
    Method
Bring the water to the boil over a high heat in a small lidded saucepan and add the quinoa and half the salt.
Cover, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, until all water has been absorbed.
Place a large frying pan over a medium-high heat, add the oil and saute the garlic for 20 seconds.
Stir in the parsley, rosemary and thyme and season with the remaining salt and the pepper. After 30 seconds remove the frying pan from the heat and set aside.
When the quinoa is cooked, add it to the frying pan and stir to combine. Add the basil, stir again and serve immediately.

Hi to all - no, I am not saying a word, about anything to do with the WEATHER - well, I might.............. :? :?

Hi Toni, sending lots of love and prayerful thoughts to Mum and to you all. I hope there is a bed at the cottage hospital for Paul's Mum. Nurse led units are usually excellent, well, to be honest, every ward is nurse led.

The syringe driver will make her feel more comfortable, which eases concerns that are always asked, about pain and discomfort. Bless her, saying goodbyes. It brings a lot of memories back, I know how you feel.

You are welcome to the candles and prayers, it never does any harm to ask for peace and comfort, to those in need. Able bodied, or very poorly. t4591 t4591

Glad that Tia went with you to see Nan t4591

Pancakes were good, super good in fact. I had one, whole one :? :? ooops. I did make some more though :)

Rest, nah, not a chance. Bill's Aunt and Uncle (I call them my aunt and uncle too) are very good and Auntie is super organised and very matronly :D:D she hugs you so tight, you think you are going to pop :lol: she's lovely and we always put the NHS to rights.

They arrive about T time on Thursday, so they will spend time with Dad and sleep on the sofa bed.

They will see a difference I am sure. Friday we are at the memory clinic with Dad, so they are off to see family a bit further up north for that day, will be back T time ish. Saturday we will all go out to the T room, (must book a table). I am guessing that BIL and SIL will be over from Huddersfield too - so, rest, errrrm, no. Just Thursday, when it is going to be even hotter than today

So looking forward to getting a new car. Grey is SO on trend :D:D Will be a couple of weeks I am guessing, to get back on and everything organised.

Podiatrist has put another dressing onto Dads toe, his little toe is digging into the second toe. He has the right shoes on, he might well crunch his toes up, like some people sleep with clenched fists. :? :?

Sleek was right, it was so hot and today is even worse. The AC is running flat out and struggling to keep us cool.

All curtains and blinds shut, fans on..........cannot do much more really.

Weather warnings for big thunderstorms tonight and Thursday night. I am not looking at the temp for Thursday - scary hot.

Mother said she will ring Sleek later, she must stay at home and keep cool. Mother is :animal_busy: and has been for most of the day.

It is a good while since they have been to Lytham, it will be cooler, so some fresher sea air will do them good, even if it is raining. Fishy treats, lovely  goodness knows what concoction they will try.

Hi Joan and Sue - hope you are all ok and keeping as cool as possible, the doggies too, I bet they are hot. Dads toe will mend again, they are going to check it every week for a while.
Me, I am boiled, even with the AC running. Summer and I are never the best of friends. The other seasons, yes, they are fine.

Hi Kath - no, I won't remind you of the temperature, honest. :? :?

You do right to sit in the back room, as far away from the heat as possible. I think we will all go with Holly, to the splash pad on West Park :) Kind of her to nip out for you.
I think factor 50 is the highest, sunblock. Which, in this weather, is totally essential, you can burn in less than half an hour and heat stroke can sneak up on people in no time.

    I did, I made a cuppa, I am forgiven, t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006 :D:D

Hi Barbara - hope you are ok. I know you will be trying to keep as cool as possible. Feet in the paddling pool would be good, cold water over pulse points is a good way of cooling down a bit.

I was going to water the garden this morning, but B said no, it is too hot, for dicky tickers and COPD etc, not good at all.

I had two coffee's this morning, then had to have a shower, as I was like a sieve
Lots of love, as always t4591 t4591

Hi Carol - is that you, wrapped in a chillow :lol: I will have mine wrapped round my head at siesta time. Hope you are both ok.
Less than a week until GGs is due. I bet Mom is bloomin hot, being so near to her due date, in a heatwave

Right, I am off for a wash and shave. Cool down a little.

I will pop back again later, internet permitting (it has been off 5 times today already).

Love and sparkles to all, take lots of care t4591 t115006 XX Aidan

    Evening all
Oh my what a week been busy and it still be busy till this coming Monday. seems things are improving since we last heard from daughter as comment's on fb and from GD and Daughter seem as though they went out together last weekend along with some other friends, so hopefully I am right in thinking that things are getting back to normal. I have been so busy I have hardly touched my laptop or iPad since the weekend. today weather was nice so we decided to go to Eastbourne for the day it was hot but was a nice relaxed day. We left home at around 9 am this morning and returned home about 9.15 this evening long day but enjoyed by us both. Which we need at the moment. Mr T being a bit concerned as Our church pastor is leaving us at the end of September so we will be without one and our congregation is so small and mostly made up of elderly people. there are fears we may end up closing the church down. this will be a sad thing for us as Mr t has been attending the same church since the age of 10 yrs and I have been attending the church for 50 yrs myself. Yes Aidan could do with being wrapped up in my chillow the temperature tonight is not due to go any lower than 24c sorry I have mentioned the w word naughty Carol :lol:

well Baby is due in 2 days now he is due on Friday think his mum will be only too glad to have him here in this weather. its knit and natter tomorrow and I am due to take my cards to local MS group on Thursday but as weather is supposed to reach 40% I am not sure I may cancel going cannot be doing with the traveling in the heat.

well I think its time for a little potter but just before I go here is a piccie of Mr t being very refined with pinkies out at the little T room in Weymouth.

Hi to all - It is so bl
hot, it is like Miami weather with the humidity at silly %%

Hi Barbara - You are more than welcome to all the goodies, I did eat several ice cream cookies, there are plenty more in the freezer.

The weather is just crazy hot. 30 plus today and hotter for Thursday :o:o
We are waiting for thunder and lightning, anything to clear the air a bit. We are still on a weather warning. t111055 t111055

I can totally sympathise with your GD, working in uniform. I remember many a hot hot summer on the wards. It is sapping, to say the least.

I think you should join Niamh and her friend, in the paddling pool today :) It is supposed to be a deal cooler, we will see how that pans out.

I see, that would explain why your Brother went to the hospital to find out why he was choking on things. I pray that his results will be favourable t4591

Yes, Dad's routine will be up skittled that is for sure. Both of Bills Brothers are coming, didn't know his other Bro was coming up from London, on his own, he likes to play golf with his twin Bro (they are so different, you would never ever believe they were twins) So, there will be 8 of us at the T Room. We will book that today, when we go in.

Looking forward to our new car, I would think mid August ish.... Beatrice will look after us very well until then :)

Any cauliflower, that's good to know :)

Still chasing up the blood results for Mr B - I would ring and say would it be quicker for him to come in and have another lot done. Sounds like the last batch has gone AWOL.

Hi Toni - you are welcome hun. We are thinking of you all t4591 t115006

    IOlynda%2Bfawn%2Bfern.jpg

That temperature is wayyyyy too hot. Sleek said to Mother that it was knot nyce
Mother didn't even get off the bed at siesta time for any sweets, she was too flaked out, like the rest of us. :? :?

Hi Carol - boy do you have some busy times - retirement is for relaxing and taking things slowly

Whoever said that, needs a slap, because there are not enough hours in a day for any of us.

I am glad to hear that your Daughter and GD are more on an even keel again and things are more amicable.

Eastbourne is lovely, sounds like you had a great day, if a tiring one. Some sea air, even though it was very warm air, is always good for you. Lots of Ozone.

It is very sad that your Church may well close its doors when the present Incumbent leaves later this year. Parishes amalgamate with others, sometimes the costs, just don't make one Church viable.

I hope it doesn't come to that, you have been faithful members of the Church for such a long time. t4591 t4591

We do need body sized chillows, I think it is about the same here overnight.
Thursday is muted to be hotter than Tuesday - if it is nearer to 40 degrees, then I would maybe give your knit, natter and the MS group a miss. Better safe than over heating. :? :?

Baby GGS due in two days, I am sure Mum is sweltered.

Hats off to Mr T, what a star, pinkies perfectly pointed. Refined indeed, made my day :)

I do remember the picture of you both, you have mischievous look :D:D:D

We will pick Dad up this morning, pills to collect from the Surgery and T room to go in. It will be a trifle warm in there, so I will dress accordingly   Pants and flip flops should be ok :o:o:lol::lol::lol:
No, I would not inflict such horrors on the general public :lol:

Time I was pottering, the heat is addling my brain.

Everyone take care, drink plenty XX Lots of love and sparkles to all XX Aidan

Paul's Mum died peacefully (syringe driver in place) at 9pm yesterday RIP Nanny Pam  She's with her beloved Fred now and that dreadful suffering is over. Sadly in the 'wrong' hospital, but she really was well looked-after there, but not well-enough to travel.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers and candles. It's so nice to hear you all care.

I love potato pancakes Aidan thank you :) I'll just have one or two my appetite isn't great today.

How lovely to have all the family over for that meal out. I hope the T room won't be too hot for you all though :? I hope you won't melt doing all the extra housework for all these visitors

We did have a storm last night it flicked off the aircon which was only on standby anyway. I hope you did too. It is still very hot though.

I had the aircon on in our bedroom and Charley's all afternoon yesterday. Lucy's basement is cool bliss :) Curtains were all shut fans on here too windows are all open now as it's cooler - for now

That thermometer I posted was in my greenhouse at about 8pm yesterday.

Sleek and Mother just chatted on their mobiles last night and plan to do the same today Sleek says it izz much to hot for my Muther Mummy. Itz not sayf.

Carol you two do have lovely times together! A trip to Eastbourne a day away from worries.

I thing our Rev is due to retire too such a worry for the older members of your congregation…. travelling is a problem for older people as is change. Mr T and yourselves have worshipped there for such a long time too ((()))

WE have seen the other pic but how did you get Mr T to pose with his pinkie out!!

Baby could come any time now  I am so please to hear that D and GD are back ok again for the children's sakes and yours.

Barbara Paul's Mum wasn't really awake all day yesterday thanks to the driver. I am grateful she was suffering far too much. Now she is with her beloved Fred.

Get in that pool yourself lass.

As for your husband's blood results go get another lot taken honestly they must have lost them. I hope they weren't urgent?

Kath I know like me you have sad memories of syringe drivers, but it helped Paul's Mum it really did. Bless her heart and thank you the candles are lovely in the heart shape :) let's hope all of these kind thoughts have eased her passing.

She said her goodbyes every time anyone went.

Joan Paul's Mum was too poorly to move in the end and dies peacefully at 9pm last night. Thank you for your hugs.

    Love to everyone

Martin came this morning to take my blood pressure and my blood test. On my last appointment with my Rheumy they asked my GP to amend my BP meds, sp I'm on Felodipine 10mg and Doxasosin 8mg. I'm thrilled to report that my BP is now 139/73 - wonderful. It's usually around 189/70.

Toni, I'm so glad that Paul's mum passed peacefully, and you have lovely memories of her last days, knowing that she had no suffering. My memories are of relatively young (40ish) mums losing their lives to cancer. And their families sorrow that thry went too soon. It's different when the person is older and they feel 'ready' to go. However, my sincere condolences to you all.

My goodness, what a storm we had last night, and SOOOOOOOOOOOO hot. There I've mentioned the weather myself now (smack) To make up for it, here's a Cauliflower dish. Ta for the German Potato Pancakes luv, spuds of any kind are even better than mushrooms.

Carol, I'm so glad your family is mending itself. Your photos of Weymouth are lovely, and soon we will have lovelr new baby photos to coo over.

Barbara, I'm glad you enjoyed the Quinoi Salad. Thank you for the tip about cauliflower. It's my favourite veg. t4591

    EASY VEGAN CAULIFLOWER CHICKPEA CURRY
    Ingredients
    1 Tbsp Coconut oil
1/2 Large red pepper, roughly chopped
1 15oz Can Petite diced tomatoes, very well drained *
1 Cup Full-fat coconut milk (not light!)
1 Tbsp Yellow curry paste **
    2 tsp Tapioca starch
1 Tbsp Reduced-sodium soy sauce (gluten free if needed)
    1/2 Tbsp Coconut sugar
1 15 oz Can Chickpeas, drained and rinsed (not sodium-reduced)
2 Cups Cauliflower, cut into large florets
    Squeeze of fresh lime juice
    Pinch of sea salt
    Cilantro, for garnish
    Green onion, for garnish
Cooked white rice, or cauliflower rice, for serving
    Instructions
Heat the coconut oil on "saute" in your Instant Pot. Once hot, add in the pepper and cook for 2 minutes.

Add the drained tomatoes, coconut milk and curry paste, stirring until the paste is dissolved. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.

In a small bowl, whisk together the tapioca starch with 4 tsp of the hot liquid from the Instant Pot until smooth. While constantly stirring, whisk it back into the Instant pot, along with the Soy sauce and coconut sugar. Boil until the mixture begins to thicken, about 1 minute.

Stir in the can of chickpeas and cauliflower. Cover the Instant Pot (making sure it's set to sealing!) and manually set it to High Pressure and cook for 5 minutes. Let it pressure release naturally.

Once the pressure has released, squeeze in fresh lime juice and salt to taste.

Garnish with cilantro and green onion and DEVOUR!

    Hi to all

Sincere condolences to Paul, yourself and all the family, at his Mum's passing. t4591 t4591
Passing away peacefully, after spending most of the day asleep. The medication would have settled her and made her comfortable. No more suffering, you are quite right. Fred would have been there, to welcome her. t115006

Good to know the staff were a credit to their profession :) Everyone does care, a great deal t4591 Far more than people would ever realise was possible, on a forum t115006

Just a little pancake, don't worry, your appetite will be all to pot at the moment.

Dad didn't even remember it being hot yesterday  :? then asked if we would need a coat and a cardigan on this morning   That was met with a resounding NO

Our visit to the T room was lovely, it was melting hot I must admit. One of the staff who works there has taken to us two, B has made her bracelets and a necklace, as special gifts, stones with special meanings etc. She has been through a very traumatic time recently.
Well, she gave us a gift today, a painting that she has done, of an Angel. Like us, she believes in Angels and the help they give us, most often without us even knowing.

All 8 of us are booked in for Sat, when it is going to be cooler, thank goodness.

We had a huge storm last night, I nearly dropped my toothbrush when one crash of thunder went off. It poured with rain too. After that I was out for the count for a couple of hours, before Mother woke me.
The power went off, not for long, enough to upset the sky box and internet.

We could not get the temp down to less than 24 25 last night

Housework, that can go tittle, I am a melting pot at the moment and cannot cool down, even sat next to the AC, I am drenched.  Already on my third shirt of the day

Good that you were cooler last night, can we all move into Lucy's abode, downstairs, we will keep it very tidy :)

Your green house was hot, 35 is silly   tomorrow is going to be worse than Tuesday, we have 31 in the shade. AC on from early doors me thinks.

Sleek is right, it is not sayf at all. People were out running today, dangerous to say the least. Mother says they are crakkers :lol:

Hi Joan and Sue - how are both, very hot I can bet. Aunt and Uncle will be travelling up tomorrow, arriving in the late afternoon. Everyone will meet up on Saturday in the T room. Thank you for the (((()))), lots for you both too t4591 t4591

Way to go Kath, that is a great BP reading :) I bet you are well chuffed mi duck.

Bloods done too, by the lovely Martin, who must be paid whatever, to stay at your surgery :)

You had a storm too, excellent, it didn't cool things down much really, but the rain was welcome, very welcome t111055 t111055 it was clattering on the roof, very loud, with some hail too.

I will make a note, Kath loves spuds, just a bit more than mushrooms. So, a tattie and mushroom dish, would be perfect then t4591 t4591

Thank you kindly for the cauli and chickpea curry, sounds yummy, with some garlic naan bread :) gorgeous.

Hugs for any ouches, the Possums are on standby, with mini ice packs :D:D

Hi Barbara - are you still in the pool with Niamh   and her friend. I bet they are having a wail of a time and why not.

Is it roast dinner, or salad tonight. Salad, putting the oven on sounds like a big no no :? :?

Hi Carol - hope you are both ok, did you take a rain check on the knit and natter. I was looking at the pictures of the storms over London, some impressive lightning bolts

This seems to be taking an age, I have to keep moving about to cool off a little.
So, I will potter about a bit. Hopefully siesta will be possible.

Will pop back later. In the meantime, lots of love and sparkles to everyone. Take care XXXX Aidan t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006

Hi all :) Well, it is actually a tad cooler this evening, the AC is doing its job and some windows open too. For the first time today, I am not melting.

I won't mention the temperatures for today :? :? Fierce might be a good description. :o We will get through it, with more storms and weather warnings  Then a good deal cooler from Friday. There, Michael Fish, reporting for VA forum :D:D:lol::lol:

I hope everyone is as ok as can be.

Thoughts and loads of love and hugs to you, Toni and Paul. t4591 t115006

Sleek was talking to Mother, who was, in turn, giving her support and comfort, as Sleek said the house was sad at the moment.
They were speaking very quietly and gently. t4591 Then mother fell fast asleep in the heat   bless her socks.

Hi Barbara, I hope the paddling pool had good use. I am sure it will be topped up today, with everyone in together, keeping cool.

I think I will pop over, with Kath's D Nurse, we can take Mr B's bloods again and check his BP etc. :D:D

Hi Carol - hope you are all ok, any news on GGs, any day now t4591 We must be on day zero.
Take care in the heat, it is going to be scary hot today.

I will have another potter around. Down to 20 degrees, which is just perfect :)

Everyone take lots of care. We will be at home today, no venturing out, I might peep through the curtains :?

Love and sparkles to all t4591 t115006 XXXX Aidan

    Right good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well and not tooooooo m0150 hot

Today we are off for Tia's dress fitting  so exciting I must put a hankie in my bag.... Still no-one has seen it except for us two  I'm expecting gasps from the 'congregation' :D

The not so happy news is that Paul's Mum's funeral is booked for the 13th August. Is it just me or is it getting stupidly hard to book a funeral these days? :? When My Mum went 12 years ago I got hers in for the following week. Not good for the grieving is it :(

I must thank you all again for your kind and caring wishes candles and prayers for us. We are doing ok even Paul because she was suffering so much it feels like a sad blessing. t115006

The courtesy micra was lovely and cool Aidan though not quite as comfy as Dudley. I'm sure he'll be restored to full freezing mode later today bless him.

I bet you need a shower Aidan I had one first thing I expect we will need another later too

Thank you for the weather forecast Michael Fish

Sleek is feeling sad she says who is going to sit in Mummy's seat now at Christmas??? Who is going to tell everyone that they are getting FAT!!! Sleek things she could take on that particular role  Paul's Mum was cheeky! She said whatever came into her mind with a wink in her eye

She told Tosca to put up with Grandad in her chair because she will miss him when he's not there :animal_busy: Tosca said very wise young apprentice Sleek, very wise. I cannot believe dad didn't realise it is HOT ATM

I have had my potatoes and mushies and had more pots than mash for Kath. Also my chocolate brownie truffle I know an odd time to be eating such delicacies, but who cares!

That painting is really amazing! How lovely and even nicer it was a gift given out of love t4591 Where is it going to go? Well done getting booked for all the family.

We are going for a pub meal tomorrow night to meet Charley's 'date'

People are being silly running and swimming in open water too  Taking risks. I have upped my fluid intake to 3L also like you aircon is already switched on.

    Kath
yes I have memories of kids dying having said that one or two of them had had enough and didn't want to keep suffering :( Paul's Mum was ready and we would only have wanted her here for selfish reasons so we are glad she is with Fred now.

FABULOUS news about your BP being so low well done much much safer :)

An instant pot recipe! and it's vegan thanks very much :)

Thank you Joan yes Paul's Mum isn't in pain anymore for which I am grateful ((()))

Hope all is well with Barbara and Niamh had a good stay. Keep the paddling pool out!

Carol is it Baby day today? I hope it's not too long for her sake it's not nice being pregnant in summer

    Love to everyone

31.5 degrees, at noon. Outside on the back decking, north facing, no sun

B went into town, to post letters, get some fuel, so we don't have to mess about tomorrow, on route to the health centre in Accrington, for Dads Memory Clinic appointment. B reminded him again, Dad said, "I've been already haven't I" oh dear.............................. :? :?
Hi Joan - hope you are both ok. Aunt and Uncle from Swindon have cancelled their visit. There are a lot of road works on the M4 and M6 and they don't want to be stuck in traffic when it is melting hot.
They will come up another time.

My problems, don't you be worrying, we have to get on as best we can. The very hot weather does not sit well with me, that's for sure, it is not good if you have cardiac problems or COPD / Asthma etc.
Some of my pills affect the way my body responds to temperatures, so I just melt, even with the AC.  It will be better after today is over. (((()))) to you both. Dad is ok, B popped round this morning.

3pm and the temp on the top of the AC is 30 degrees   The only trouble with portable ones, you have to vent the hot air hose through an open window.

Hi Toni - Thank goodness you have a courtesy car, with AC

I hope Tia's dress fitting went well and tissues were needed I am guessing - of course everyone will gasp when they see her t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006

MIL's funeral, not until the 13th of Aug. It seems to be the norm. My Mum's was nearly three weeks from the day she passed away.
It is not good at all, the living in limbo is horrible, it feels like you cannot move forward. t115006 t115006

Sad Blessing, that is very true, watching my Mum in hospital, was just so painful, things sound to have been very similar. Thoughts and prayers and candles are always there t4591

Everything is taking me 10 times as long to do, the heat is just sapping what energy I have.

I would happily stay in the shower, mind you I am sopping wet anyway.

Sleek has been on the phone to Tosca, about mummy's seat at Christmas and also that the wethar iz stoopid hott. Sleek can take on the roll of Mum being as blunt as a spoon :lol:

I think Mother might have nodded off again, mid way through her conversation, she is flaked out, totally. Just like the rest of us.

No, Dad didn't think the days were any different -   he had his cardigan on this morning when B went round :? :?

We can eat any delights, at any time of day. If goodies are there, then they are there for a reason :D:D

The lovely painting is on the wall, between the two bay windows - so thrilled with it and as the lady said, this is for you two with love, you both brighten my day when I see you. Awww, bless her. t4591 t4591

Ooooh, out for a meal to meet Charley's new date, wonderful, enjoy, keep us posted :) t4591 t4591

Sadly, people still insist on jumping into rivers, or lakes, taking no notice of the risks of thermal shock, which has claimed several lives already in the past week. Tip cold water over your head, by all means, but don't leap into a river. :? :?

Is it choir tonight, or are you missing this week. It might be a TAD hot for singing :? :?

Hi Kath, of course we can take as many orphaned orangutan's as we can fit in. Johnny will see to it. We will have to feed them at all hours of the day and night, but it would be SO worth it.

I don't blame Niamh for coming out of the pool Barbara, it is way too hot outside, crazy hot.

Good to hear that the blood results are back for Mr B and he has an appointment for Aug 1st. Finally, after all that time

You are welcome to the goodies. We are 2 down now, for Saturday, as Aunt and Uncle are not coming, due to the super hot weather. Aunt doesn't like the motorways at the best of times, so with roadworks and delays, in this heat, no, another time. Dad is ok, they rang him first thing, then rang us. It does start to cool off from tomorrow, thank Heavens.

Great, you have your chillows, even they get hot in this weather. Sat on one already, don't blame you. I love mine on under the pillow slip.

We do love the angel painting. I took this late last night, just to show where we have put it - I think I was on a tilt

It is a struggle, keeping patients cool in this weather. Not like in Europe or USA where they are all air conditioned, only a few areas are chilled over here, critical care is normally cooled, because of the equipment and theatre's are always chilled.

Poor man, with his iced cloth on his neck, to keep him cool.

I can hear thunder rumbling, it is going dark too. t111055 t111055 hope we get a storm soon.

Hi Carol, hope you are both ok and managing with the heat. I think we are breaking records for the highest July daytime temps.

Time I was moving again. I need another cool wash.

Everyone take lots of care, lots of love, lots of fluids, lots of sparkles :D t4591 t115006 Will call back later XXXX Aidan

    Evening all
    On this very hot evening yesterday was hot enough but today has been sweltering 38 degrees the highest temperature in London today m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150 m0150
About 6pm we had some thunder and lightening and rain t111055 t111055 lasted all of 5 mins and has not made much difference to the temperature. Have just looked out my window and the sky has gone very dark think we might have some more storms on the way.
I did have to go out at lunch time. and then popped into my favourite bar/coffee place it was heaven they had all doors closed and the air conditioning on full it was just like being wrapped in the chillow Aidan. I sat there knitting for about 3 hours. Mr T should be having a meeting with the other church leaders tonight but it has been postponed because of the heat. Well Its due date for GGS if he decides it is time to arrive.

Aidan I did go to Knit and natter yesterday as only a short bus ride about 4 stops. But I did take a rain check on the Ms group with my cards today as it was far to hot and that journey would have been 2 buses to get there and an hours travel each way. I decided NO I was not going to swelter just to sell a few cards if any at all. Mr T can be very refined when he wants to be. Eastbourne was lovely. yes a bit sad about the church but we shall wait and see what happens.

Tonisorry to hear about Pauls mum sending lots of hugs (((()))) to you all. the Picture with the pinkie out was mr Ts idea :lol: baby due date tomorrow so we shall see I think mum just wants him here.

Joan I too am glad that GD and daughter are talking again. yes baby due date tomorrow so not long now

Kath I love cauliflower too. piccies of baby will appear as soon as I have any. awww that baby orangutan adorable yes please please can we have some.

will answer other post tomorrow brain is fried at the moment just cannot type any more .

    love and sparkles to all t4591 t4591 t115006 t115006

    Hi to all -

I feel like I have worked a 14 hour shift in a glass blowing room studio, with furnaces all aglow

We had about 10 spots of rain, one rumble of thunder and that is it. Quite how it is going to be nearly 10 degrees cooler for Friday, I don't know.

Anyway, apart from it being one of the hottest days on record, I hope everyone is as ok possible.

Hi Carol - 38 degrees, that is silly hot m0150 m0150 You must had had the same "storm" as we did, huff and puff and nothing came of it.

I bet you had a lovely time in your fav bar / coffee shop, super chilled, excellent. I would have happily sat there with you, winding the wool :D:D

Church meeting postponed, not surprised, the heat has caused a huge amount of disruption with road and rail travel, buses and tube trains being unbearably hot - oh the thought, gives me the vapours

    giphy.gif

Who else loved "The Golden Girls":D

Two bus journeys and two hours travelling, to the MS group, wise to give it a miss, it would have been draining to say the least. :?

You were both VERY refined with your pinkies out, very very impressed with your pictures and a T cosy too. Just how tea should be served :D:D

So, today, we are on day 0 for GGs to join the family. I am sure Mum to be is more than ready

You are not alone with a frazzled brain, I think we are all slightly askew at the moment. :? :?  :lol:

Hi Toni, how was Tia's dress fitting? Did you need your tissues, of course you did t4591 t4591

Is Dudley Juke icy cool once again, I hope so. :D

We are down to 23 in the lounge, now, all fans pointing down to the bedrooms, to help drag the cold air.

Sleek nipped over at siesta time, she heard me putting more sweets in Mothers dish   ears like a bat that girl :lol:
They had a good natter, life, rainbow bridge, very in depth it was. t4591 I nodded off.
The weather is very wet for the week end, t111055 I know our puskins had planned a trip to Lytham........Sleek won't mind and Mother will be dry in her sidecar, so I doubt we will stop them. t4591

Hugs to all, candles always lit. t115006

Hi Barbara - did you use your chillows at bedtime? They do warm up quickly when it is so hot, but they help make things a bit more comfortable. :animal_busy: You got them just at the right time.

Hi to everyone else, in and about.

Off out with Dad, to the memory clinic. I will go along and wait patiently. Then some lunch at the GC on the way back, shopping, then home at goodness knows what time :? :?

Right, time I was pottering a bit, need another cool wash...........

Leaving lots of love and t4591 XXXX Aidan

Hi Sue, don't worry about the occasional missed week. But it's always lovely to hear from you. :D Enjoy your meal with your lovely twin. t4591

I'm hoping my post gets finished and posted today. There are signs of life next door, I wonder what they are up to today? It looks very much like rain outside, and is definitely cooler thank goodness. Isn't the orphaned Orangutang gorgeous. We watched a program all about a 'school' for them in Borneo, the youngest was 3 months old. They've all lost their mums, and one whose mother was killed when she was very young, also had her own arm chopped off by the killers. g045.gif

    WE MUST HELP THEM

Thanks to Aidan for the Blueberry Muffin Overnight Oats and Ice Cream Sandwich Cake. I scoffed them all mixed in together Aidan. and of corse the Grilled Lemon and Herb Potato's and Mushrooms, which I ate separately.

Carol, you look very ladylike with your titfer on and pinkies out.
