    HI Folks

WOnky reporting for evening PA duties

Cris has asked me to let you know that despite the best (???) in the way of mud and other appalling weather conditions (including the wind and hail) that Cornwall has had to offer lately, she has had a better day today.

Apparently her left shoulder and neck are still useless  but her right arm is less swollen

tomorrow afternoon Cris sees the OT :grin: and she's hoping that she will get some splints to help. She is worrying about all the swelling, but if her OT is anything like mine, that's all part of the job and something they are well used to seeing.

so, all aboard the pockets for Cris tomorrow afternoon and lets see if we can scare the OT into being extra helpful to our Cris - she certainly deserves some decent help

one of her PAs will let you know how things go tomorrow I'm sure.

hugs from Cris and from me

HI Folks, wonky PA here again, with news from Cris :grin:

It's not been a bad afternoon all told, tho there will be a wait for some things but there are reasons for that.

Cris has got (I think, or she is going to get) 2 types of splints for the wrists - one type with metal and one without.

Also, she's got/getting the elbow clips (whatever they are) :???:

and ..... there is a perching stool on order (for use at the sales)

and ..... a bed turner is on order :grin:

Cris will be referred to the back and neck OT specialist for the things concerning those areas. Apparently this referral has to be approved by the Rheumy rather than the GP so that explains the delay - but hopefully between 2 - 4 weeks till she sees that OT.

However, she does know that the consensus is that they do need to get the weight off the vertebrae, spine and neck.

Apparently they think crutches may not be the best for Cris, but if they are they will make sure she gets the new ones with the shaped handles.:grin::grin::grin:

Since at the mo Cris uses the crutches mainly to take the weight off the lumbar spine I suppose they think other things might help - but Cris does need something to balance with at times.

So ..... Cris is having a quick cuppa then is off to the shops ..... so I dare say a little rest will be in order when she gets back.

however, she is under strict instructions not to armchair

I know Cris would want me to thank everyone who has looked in and offered their support.

    hugs from us both

Yikes! That is a list and a half of helpful stuff and I sincerely hope (as do the Davids - who are still scrapping in the sheep house) that you get everything on there and that you find them useful/ are able to use them/ won't forget to use them. It's yet another learning curve, skezier, but one I am sure you will master. DD

PS Thank you, Wonky, for the update - it's much appreciated. DD

    hi all,

i really can't thank you enough for all your help, care and support! i really don't know why your so kind to me but just wanted to thank you all..... from the heart.

the drip was easier and the BS less scary... in fact i am taller than her.... came as a shook cus i thought she was miles above me.... she only comes up to just over my shoulder.... sounds pathetic eh but that realisation helped!

she didn't;pt come near me and any of her comments that she made i didn't this time hear so she is getting more careful.....makes a difference eh>?

was only really ill 2 days and the blood... well the inflammation i the most likely culprit....

its worked better this time... shame about the tissueing mind, that seriously burned for days and the right arm is still a bit swollen....

the OT was really helpful and the splints i already got  got one elbow clip an she will send me the other..... jury out on if they help but the splints do straight away and i used the non metal ones to drive in and by the time i got home half the swelling around the wrists had actually gone

i have a degree of limited movement in the wrists so they are clearly fusing up and with the splints at least they will do it straight eh?! help with the pain as well....

she has a colleague who does specialise in back and necks so thats who i am waiting to see.... everyone says they have to get the weight off the lumber and neck.... it will be interesting to see how they do that without the gibbet  i know the gibbet did work but i really don;t want something a bad as that again..... specially on the neck.....

she said about a home visit....

i would love one but its impossible just now... they would come in their work clothes and ordinary shoes and get out in a good 6" of mud..... traipse 100 yards at least through waterlogged field and then hit 8" of mud....

one day thee will be concrete!

anyway the bed turner i don't know will help but tis worth a go. crutches... they hep the weight off the lumber and also as Wonky says i do get a bit wobbly but they are hard on the neck, shoulders and wrists and mine are in a bit of a state just now... specailly the neck.... hell is that playing up!

kinda think its reached the point of no return and like the lumber will be there constantly hurting and banging and well getting used to it but there go more wrinkles and aging  (pain doc always tells me pain ages you  )

the cutting in half thing.... she reacons i need to talk to Doc W at the pain clinic at least about that one cus its not the lumber... that just paralyzes me  it seriously hurts but as with a lot responds to the pregabs, trams and oxy's to the point i can function just it need looking at i guess.... even for documentation purposes only eh?

the brace thing will possibly help that as well..... oh has it got a challenge

kinda think i have total spine failure just now

    before i forget ...

you are all cordially invited to the Lady Wishtiria Ithink-Youwill- Find-Thats- Mines birthday party next week when she will be 12 :grin::grin:

going to try and get the lights on the Hawthorne today as well.... picture the scene..... 8" of mud, some steps, a huge tree, an idiot with a knackered back and neck, not forgetting vertigo an (they say) 60 mph winds :lol: well least it will be a soft landing...... less i land on a lodger... with this mud and torrential rain tis time they went

must thank my long suffering and bestest PA#s and leaving tea, hugs, mince pies and hopes for you all. Cris xxx

I would love to come to Lady Wishteria's party but I have a small dilemma: normally one would bring a bottle but what is the form for a bash thrown for a sheep? Mind you a bottle will still be brought for the human element of this!

I am so glad that the splints aided the wrist, that must have brought a good bit of relief - how hard are they go get on and off? As for the sticks well, here come come very silly words: try not to lean to hard on 'em, stay as upright as you can (mud and lodgers permitting) and I hope they can also bring some form of relief. I've done me tree so I'm on the way to hold the ladder for you (I don't do heights very well, sorry. ) DD

morning DD, Barbara, Julie, May, Val and Joan,

well had some sense for a bit yesterday... didn't try and do the hawthorn, i know our winds were not as bad as up country but it was hard to walk into them and not the best time to go up steps... sorry Val but i did fall over in mud if that helps  oh and worst still lost my slop boot and had to walk bare foot in it as well..... that was horrible!

then all sense went out the window and i ended up arm chairing it again. it’s this fatigue... i get no warning just find its hours later and i have at best server pain....... will have to try and be more careful i think.

DD Wish only drinks the best possible champers she would have you know  she is having her own packet of buttons and she has her coat though she may bulk at having her hair done for her birthday  xx

Barbara oh she would love a cake.... she loves butter icing actually if carrot cake is anything to go on.... leaving tea and a hope for you xx

Julie Bre is craning her neck to see some extra long cc's.... Wish doesn't tend to share them too well  leaving you a stay calm draft and a (((((( )))))) xx

May oh the mud...... its horrendous to say the least and so suction like as well under its covering of water..... the wind tried to dry us out a bit but the rain kept on belting in with it. don't you just hate gate crashers  its brightish out there for now but it can't last with all that cloud out even if the forecast is meant to be okish.... stay warm xx

Joan give us a hand to get this offending horse out the sheeps bit please.... got a nice fully charged battery to get back on that fence as soon as i have her out and the fence retrieved from all over the filed...... hope you and Sue are ok? xx

Val get your boots on cus your can help with a bit of mud patrol if you don't mind  i am planning t go up the steps today as soon as, or if, the neck stops messing with my arms. hope you have a good day and leaving you a tea and a thanks. xx

    hi Hileena,

good the wind has dropped now isn't it? its the joys of winter i guess..... always pleased to have it drop again cus big winds get a bit scary i find now a days. will have to go pick up some bits out there in a min cus the courgate off the old shed came adrift and thankfully didn't hit anything.

hope your dong ok and refilling the cup and leaving you tea in it xx

    hi Julie,

it was horrible! really cold and well over ankle deep..... that’s the last time i use the slop boots  and do the chickens appreciate it.... do they hell :lol:

come on flower give me a hand to repair that fence and get the battery on it.... that’s should stop her again! tea and a hope xx
