A 4* read is a book I've just finished Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson

It's a gentle love story and very easy to read. It's funny and the characters, although exaggerated, are really likeable.

Recommended for a light hearted holiday read.

end the relationship but all is well in the end. Another couple are involved
but in different but conjoined circumstances.
The author's descriptive passages are authoritative, particularly those
dealing with the battle scenes and the early days of plastic surgery.
I think I'll read it again.

    What's the title Ichabod

I could do with a different read.

You must tell us what you think when you've got it and read it.

Really hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

After reading the thread about the Kindle and seeing how many people have Kindle's and read. And people like myself who prefer proper books I thought it would be fun if we had a book club, where people could review books they have read and give a rating on how good they are.
    So I'll start it off!

    Breaking dawn by Stephenie Meyer

After reading all the Twilight books and enjoying them more than the films I was ready to read the last book Breaking Dawn. I went into reading it thinking it couldn't beat all the other books because it was the last book. How wrong I was it captivated me from the first page and is a real page turner. I would even go as far as saying it's the best book in the saga. The fact it's a two part book got me excited before I even started reading it. Make sure when you come to read it you have a good block of time free because you woun't beable to put it down! If your a Twilight fan you will enjoy it and if your not a fan your'll still enjoy it!

    Rating:- *****
    Hi Bubba

i loved the twilight books and could not put them down .Did you know she started writing another book it was about Edwards thoughts of bella Hillarious , she sent out 4 copies to friends to read and one of them posted it on the internet so it never got finished .If you have not seen it i will look through my emails and pass on details .

Sister by Rosamund Lupton. A psychological thriller where the end seemed a little empty to me. It was okay but I'd only give a 3* rating.

I've started reading these books to my daughter. I loved this book and also the twins at St Clares, when I was her age. She is always stuck on the computer killing zombies so I'm trying to encourage her to be a little girl again.

I've just finished The Red House by Mark Haddon

It's the story of a brother and sister who both have dysfunctional families and after the death of their mother (who was an alcoholic) go on holiday together to try to get close. It's a book without a plot and every time I thought it was improving it pulled the rug from under my feet again. In my opinion, rubbish and I wasted a week of my life reading it

    1 star only from me.
