Hi Folks
reading Ruth Rendell The Monster In The Box.0 -
Perfect People by Peter James
4*
An intriguing book with many unexpected twists and turns along the way. A book for men and women.
John and Naomi Klaesson have lost their 4 year old son to a rare genetic disorder which made them watch him die a slow and horrible death. Still young and desperate for another child, they opt for paying a huge sum of money to geneticist who has promised them that he can prevent this child from being born with the same disorder that killed their son.........but he also offers them other choices with their next child
It is a story about designer babies and in parts not quite believable but still a good yarn leading to an unexpected ending.

5o shades trilogy is the best reading since i have read the twilight books.
Some people call it soft porn, but i would say it's more sensual and loving. there is nothing crude or obscene. A book most people can not put down and is a best seller everywhere at the moment..xxTracyxx0 -

I've been re-reading the Mountjoy novels by Elizabeth Aston (utterly joyful reading for me) and then I discovered she writes under two further names so I bought The Frozen Lake (Elizabeth Edmondson). It's terrific, so good in fact I'm rationing myself so I don't finish it too quickly.
Another good read was Drowning Rose by Marika Cobbold and I have also downloaded some novels by Stella Gibbons the best of which so far was Starlight (I still have Westwood to go).
I like the fact you can download a sample to see what's what - my Kindle is full of 'em! As for 50 Shades that began as an ebook and then went into print - how very modern. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
I've been reading and I’m about half way through the book “south” written by Ernest Shackleton and I must say it a bloody good read, the man and his crew were tough as old boots and Shackleton’s leadership and judgment was spot on the man had some kind of inner talent for this and the journey they undertook and survived was breath taking even today.
The man is one of my all time heor's and even knowing he was a Mason hasn't made me think any less of him, I feel people like him are born with something special already in their genes and there seems to be a preordained fate that hovers over them, Churchill is another man along those lines.
I'd have loved to have met him, a true British Adventurer who led from the front and didn't chose class over talent, this is what saved him and his crew I'm sure of it, I just find it odd that he became a Mason yet thought this way as from what I've seen and know of Masonry it's a club designed for personal profit and power over others who your meant to look down on, it's a remnant/throw back from the days of the class system and isn't healthy especially if you come up against it as I did.0 -
