Unbreakable - My New Autobiography By Sharon Osbourne
This is the 3rd Autobiography from Mrs O, I have read the last 2 Autobiographies and really enjoyed them, the way Mrs O writes you feel how she feels and a lot of the time she makes you laugh out loud. Unbreakable goes over the last two years from End of 2011 to mid 2013. And the Osbourne family have had some ruff times with the exception of a new arrival to the Osbourne family. There is never a dull moment with this book a real rollercoaster of emotions told in the colourful Sharon Osbourne way! If your looking to read an interesting autobiography you can't go wrong with this book! A great book!!

I am reading The Glass House by Simon Mawer It is a book I actually own, bought years ago and then never got around to reading. I picked it up while I was waiting for a library book to arrive. It is really good. I will review when I'm done.
Good to hear Toni still reading away. Sometimes helps to take your mind off things.0 -

All this year I have ploughed through The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.
I kept on to the end waiting for something to happen, but it never did.
She reminds me of Geoffrey Archer. Years ago I read a couple of his books
which were spoiled by bad grammar and plots that lurched along. but went nowhere. Am I being too critical?
Going to read A short book about drawing by Andrew Marr now.0 -
once on holiday read a quiver of arrows J/Archer think they were short stories much better I agree his books are not all they are cracked up to be . My book of choice is the last in the cazalet chronicles forget the title its upstairs .. she died recently Elizabeth J Howard in her 90 s when she finnished this book awesome .. her words were so clear and her characters brilliant but I must now review the B/Jones for my sins0
-

Lovely to see you on here Toni. Reading really does help, once you get "in" the book then you can block everything else out. Well, it works for me anyway. I think about you every day. What a long job it is. Poor girl must be missing her own bed. Anyway, big hugs to you ((()))0

She is Frogmella - so am I!!
We'll get there

You will, Toni.
The Glass Room by Simon Mawer
The main "star" of this book is the eponymous house. The book begins between WWI and WWII in Czechoslovakia. The couple who commission the house are Liesel and Viktor Landauer. Later on, as Hitler's plans come to pass, it becomes apparent that they need to leave, quickly, as Viktor is a Jew.
There are a few stories through the book - the tale of Liesel and Viktor's marriage, Liesel's relationship with her friend Hana, Hana's relationships with others and so forth. The binding thread is the house.
It was a good, thoughtful book. I award ****
I will pick up The Shock of the Fall tomorrow.0 -
Thank you Frogmella for the review of The Glass Room. so good to hear from you Toni, only you could break your Kindle in transit!! What a sweetie your OH is for replacing it so quickly. Reading is great to fill in time when your having to wait. I'm sure it is helping you get through this dreadful time.
I'd be grateful if you could post any suggestions for Book Of The Month for February I would appreciate it we could have any suggestions in by the end of Monday so we can make a decision and post what the book will be.....Thank you.0 -
I have just started The Shock of the Fall today and it is £1.99 on kindle. Have read 50 pages already! Or I have The Good Father by Noah Hawley on my shortlist and that is 91p. Obviously I am open to other suggestions. I have been a bit rubbish at reading BOTMs of late  .0
-
I have to admit after reading the descriptions of both The Shock Of The Fall & The Good Father you have 2 good books!! The Good Father has similarities to one the recent books we read but I think The Shock Of The Fall looks to be an interesting read. You do read some very good books, Thank you Frogmella!!
So Book Of The Month For February is The Shock Of The Fall by Nathan Filer
Kindle Price:- £1.99

It's such a great feeling when you find a book that you just can't put down and you finish it within 2 days. You just want to find another one!!0
-
That is very true, Bubba! I also find that when I finish a book the world seems to go quiet! Maybe that is just me?0
-
((( hugs ))) to Toni and her family. I have been thinking of you. Glad to hear that reading is helping you. I will have a look at Never Come back.
I haven't really read much, been watching netflix on tv.
