I hope the news on your Dad is better this afternoon, Tony. I was once in a ward with a lady who had this and it is alarming until the anti-bios take effect.
As for your grandma, I hope they'll soon get her sore under control.
Take care, mate. No cooking. That's an order. ((()))If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
thank you again ladies. I am very grateful for the lovely support.
With dad now. Scan was good. They have had to give stronger anti biotics still.. The infection is still playing havoc.
We have to be home sunday. I'll be worried sick but at least I'll see Grandma.
Stress stress stress..

you're right Sticky.. I've kicked myself up the derrier lol.. As if..
Back at the caravan after the afternoon visit..
They have him back on the iv anti biotics, uber strength ones. The first two lots haven't touched the infection. He's still doolally and seeing things all over the place.. Quite upsetting for mi Mum..
We had a really good chat with the doctor today. The scan showed that he has the infection very low down in the colon. Awkward place apparently..
I'll post again soon. Need some food and a rest.. LolMe-Tony

Hi Tony, I'm pleased you're able to take a little time out. All of this must be taking its toll. You're a good bloke, and it's about time your luck changed.

Hi Tony - just wanted to say I am sorry you have so much to deal with at the moment and do hope things soon improve.
Sending very best wishes your way. Susie0 -
thanks numpty
I think we will be going to see him tomorrow evening instead of afternoon, that way we can chill out here a bit.. The days are just flying by.
Had news in mi Grandma, she seems to be on the mend at least..
What a carry on though.. Oh, and haven't even mentioned that I find out that my six year old nephew down in exeter has septicemia! he's had two weeks of in hospital iv anti biotics. They've let him home but he's still another fortnight of the same them another two months of oral anti biotics.. Poor kid..
Seems infections are having a real go at the family right now..
About time we fought back.. Lol
Numpty, your a luv.

Hi Tony
I'm sorry you're going through all this. Both your dad and gran in hospital and now your nephew as well. It's not raining for you it's pouring indeed. Your dad is in good hands and for them to scan him and finding the infection in such an awkward place too.
Everything will be fine and he will get well. Your mum has a good loving son. You are looking after your parents and she is a happy lady. The overcooked duck while doing it to show your other half how grateful you are for her looking after you. You are a good man Tony.
As others have said, please try not to forget to rest and think of yourself as well. All this will take a toll on you and please try your best not to become stressed too much.
Hope your dad gets better soon and your gran and nephew too. I bet you can't wait to see your grandma as well.
Big ((((())))) from me and thinking of you.

Oh Tony, I really do feel for you, how much of this crap do you have to take. I know that on top of all these poblems you're having a shifty time with your own health!
Surely your luck must change soon.
All the best,
Numpty0 -
aw.. Thank you Babs.. That's a lovely post..
I adore my family.. They are a huge part of my life..
I know that I'm really not helping my body right now and it WILL hit me very hard at some point soon but I'm gonna do as much as I can for them while I still can.
The payback will be horrid I know and I'm already being warned by my body.. Starting with mouth sores etc... And another flare is just beneath the surface, I can feel it brewing like some evil tea bag in a teapot made of hatred lol..
I promise that I will look after myself properly as soon as I'm happy everyone is ok..
Grandma seems to be ok, nephew is on the mend albeit slowly.. Just Dad now.. Once I'm happy he's heading in the right direction again I'll take time for me.
Thank you again for taking the time to post..
XxxMe-Tony

Tony...IV anti biotics will work faster than if they are taken orally. As this appeared to come suddenly to your dad it could be the reason for the confusion as well as the infection itself.
Typical yorkshire stubborness...thats what you've got.
I told you nicely...you can't be in 2 places at once. You getting stressed is probably making those around you more stressed and not helping anyone.Of course you love your family but they love you too and will be concerned about you.Your doing all you can...more than you should really.
Your mum is aware your there for her but do you really have to make yourself so ill.Its just one more thing for her to worry about.
If I come across a bossy boots I'm sorry....but I've been in your shoes and know what its like to feel so responsible.
At least now things are moving in the right direction...so you should take a step back....but will you? May0 -
bless ya hun.
I know that I'm doing too much..
This morning I'm staying in bed. Janet n Mum are getting the bus to Boston.. I'm a tad broken at the minute lol..
I will take today as a total rest day...
I told Janet that IF I'm a little better this afternoon then I will go pick then up at four..
That probably won't happen as I'm having some diazepam to ease things..
Thank you for the bossiness, I know I need it every now n then lolMe-Tony

Good, I'm glad both are improving and even more glad that you're having a sensible day. (Make it a week and I might give you a bit of peace )
I can only echo all that May has written and I'm so pleased that there are now two of us on your case. I shall lend May my spare rolling pin.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
Tony If you read this the diazapam isn't working.
Sticky...send me a rolling pin mine has disappeared...think OH has put it somewhere different.
If you drive Tony after taking this you should be shot. It used to be given as a pre-med before an op.....MAY0 -
lol
Well, now I've the double rolling pin threat haha..
Don't worry girls, today I'm going nowhere..
I know I need the rest. Got to go see dad tomorrow then drive home.

thanks Val.
Janet has just spoken to the staff nurse. Dad had rung mi mum earlier and was really out of breath. Something he's had quite a while and we have been trying to get him to go to the doctors about. It was particularly bad though.
Anyway, the doctors have heard some fluid on his lungs and have put him on some water tablets. They're going to do a chest and abdominal scan. Hopefully tonight..
Me and Janet have been convinced for some time that he's got heart failure. He would never go to the doctors though. He has had two heart attacks a number if years ago and suffers angina on a very regular basis but refuses to use his GTN spray cos it gives him a headache! I could bloody kill him sometimes the silly old fart..
I've made sure that the doctors know this much to dad's annoyance..
I'm sure that there is more than just the infection going on..
I'll post when I know more.
Me-Tony

Well done you on putting the docs in the picture despite your Dad not wanting you to. It's hard to go against someone's wishes but absolutely vital as otherwise they could give him stuff that might damage him.
For your bravery, and common sense in not venturing to the hospital today, I've put me rolling pin back in the drawer - FOR NOW. ((()))If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
Parents can be so bloody minded can't they.
Of course you did the right thing telling the doctors everything. Your dad is lucky to have such a good son.
Don't over do it,(I suppose it's too late for that).
Thinking of you,
