You really need your early night and the time at the beach must have given you time to yourself. Ice cream in hand, mmmhhh yummy

You wouldn't have been able to go you your appointment with everything you're dealing with.

    Still thinking of you all.

Hi Tony, I'm still thinking about you and hope your Dad makes a good recovery. He will adapt to having a bag in time, I'm sure. It happened to a friend of mine, and although it was a shock to her to begin with, she came to terms with it quite quickly and now leads a very active life.
Take care, and love to you and Janet.

I've just caught up on your thread Tony. I wonder what they were looking at when they saw the CT.
A stoma...believe it or not is pretty common nowadays and as long as your Dad can learn to accept it...which may take time its not the end of the world.
My Mum had part of her bowel removed and it took me a while to get her to accept that if it hadn't been done she wouldn't have been with us,

I hope your Dad improves every day and make sure once he's at home he has regular visits from a stoma nurse.....thats what they are for.

Always remember there is a light at every end of a tunnel....hopefully you'll see it soon. (((())))) from an older female. May

    thank you May.

I woke this morning and all the joints are flaring up
I've had to let mum know I can't take her, she'll get the bus bless her..
Everything hurts, but I'm far from surprised, in fact I'm shocked I've lasted this long. I know that I've not done myself any favours but hey ho... It is what it is.

Think I'll head home later if I can manage it, if not I'll go tomorrow.. I'm gonna be worried sick about mum n dad but I need my bed, and a proper rest...
My brother is coming on friday, plus my two aunties are coming monday so I know that dad will have visitors.

    Tony

It's good to hear you had a good proper well deserved rest. That's music to my ears. You mum I'm sure she understands as your rest has been long overdue in my opinion.

Thinking of you and hoping you make it home to snuggle in your own bed.

    Sending you cotton ((((())))).

Sorry to hear about your dad loosing his large bowel and having to use a stoma bag, it sounds like you had a dreadful period the last few weeks! At least he's out of the woods. You poor chap you've really had an up & down few months! Hopefully things are looking more positive! You really deserve a long break away for you and Janet! Just take a break from everything and re-charge your batteries. Take care my friend and Janet . ((((HUGS))))

    thank you everyone...

There was a huge storm in skeggy yesterday afternoon, I was missing home, so the minute the sun came out I packed the car and headed home... I got home around eight last night.. Slept right through until this afternoon, washing up just to take meds.
I'm suffering a lot today still but happy top be home.

My Dad rang today, he's had a decent day, managed to walk to the day room with the help of the physios... Mum went to see him with her neighbour..
He has had the tube down his nose removed, one of his drains removed and the catheter removed.
Doing great so far but he's very tired. And his temp has been up and down. They're keeping an eye on him though.

Still has a long way to go yet..

It's another early night for me with diazapam for supper

As you know Tony, there's no place like home. Sleep as much as your body tells you to and not anytime before that.

Your dad is doing so well as he can and I bet you are pleased.

    Thinking of you.

blooming eck.. I dunno what to do with all these hugs lol..
I slept right through last night again..
And I'm still worn out. Think I'll go back to sleep soon. Everything is still hurting like Hell.. Even my back hurts, well, I think it does, since they killed the nerves it's weird.. Out hurts but I can't feel three pain if that makes sense..

Spoke to Mum, she's on her way to see Dad now. They were gonna try him with some breakfast this morning, now that would be great.. She's gonna let me know later how he went on.
My brother and his missus are meeting Mum there, then staying with her the weekend.

It's very painful on the elbow to type so I'll be back later. Thank you again everyone, including Charlie the cat. Ra says hi :D
