Aww Tilly :?
None of us have beggered off - a certain D-cat and I will be with you on Friday instead. I hope that your husband can still make the appointment then as well?
Re the morphine - well there's a thought. Are there days when you have to take the morphine earlier? and if so are you less nauseous?
Love and ((())) Purr purr

Awe Tilly
I will certainly be there on Friday, no need to apologise app's can get far to much at times, if you are not ready it's not worth going to, it also gives you a few more days to go over everything incase there has something been missed. The morphine, I don't know as I take it for another condition only when I am dipping so don't take it constant...........tc..........thinking of you...........Marie xxSmile a while and while you smile
smile another smile and soon there
will be miles and miles of smiles
just because you smiled I wish your
day is full of Smiles0 -

I don't know much about morphine, Tilly, but, if you think this might be the case, it would be well worth a bit of experimenting (within permitted limits) before seeing the GP. If it seems to help, maybe you could then discuss with your GP how best to vary the doses and dosage. It might be that you could take a smaller dose more frequently.
Yes, of course I'll still be there on Friday - or any other day if you feel Friday is too soon to tell if it's made any difference - and I hope Mr TT will be able to make it too.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Tilly, I'll be with you on Friday.
I know that feeling of too many appointments, and don't blame you at all for cancelling.
Take care,
Numpty0 -
Hi Tilly,
No need to be ashamed about the rescheduling! I tend to struggle with more than one appointment per week; besides, it sounds like you'll benefit from a bit of extra time to sort out your thoughts on the morphine matter and maybe experiment a bit, as SW suggests.
I'll be in your pocket on Friday too
Best wishes,
PhoebePsA (psoriatic arthritis) and other things since 1990. Happy to help when I can :-)0 -
Hello again, Tilly. I'm still thinking of you. I hope all goes to plan tomorrow. Have you noticed any difference with the change of time for the morphine? If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Oh Tilly, I am quite sure nobody is disgusted and please don't apologise. You must always do what feels right for you and sometimes we all feel overwhelmed with appointments etc. I will certainly be there in your pocket tomorrow if you are ready to face it, and I hope all goes well.
Wishing you well. Keep us all informed. (Looking forward to the doughnut!).

Apologies for not looking in yesterday - rough morning and (routine) hospital appt in the afternoon.
Re my dreaded GP appt - I have rescheduled for Friday at 5pm. I am very ashamed to admit that I chickened out and cancelled today's appointment on way back from hospital yesterday (just felt I couldn't cope with any more appts) but have been so frightened by what's been going on since that I have rebooked  . What am I like eh? No, please don't answer that!
It's just occurred to me that maybe my nausea which is always worse in the mornings could be down to the morphine. Not because of the amount I take, but due to the gap in doses between bedtime and the first daytime dose - which I try to delay until lunchtime if I can. Nausea is listed as a morphine withdrawal symptom, and I just wonder if my body is reacting like it is because it thinks it is missing a dose if that makes sense. I know self-diagnosis is not a brill idea but maybe it's worth suggesting to the GP when I see him since he really has no idea apparently (and isn't really interested, but that seems par for the course).
Anyway, thanks again all and any pocket dwellers who haven't beggared off in disgust would be much appreciated on Friday at 5pm.
Love Tilly xxx
the nausea can also be caused by pain and that would account for why you getting it when you put off taking i also get it when dose over due and pain kicks in ((()))val0 -
I'll be there at 5pm, perched on your shoulder and whispering in your ear. ((((())))) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks again so much peeps and thanks to the calming vibes and pocket dwellers
Well it was a good appointment (yes, I really did say "good") in that he listened to what I was saying and, although he really doesn't have an answer (which is what I was dreading) he has had a few thoughts about what might help.
In summary: He now says it's not an ulcer because if it was, it would be better by now on the high dose of Lanzoprazole. Also, apparently my symptoms are not consistent with an ulcer (which is a complete about-face from what I was told before  ). On that basis he sees no need for an endoscopy or further investigations of that nature.
He was clearly thinking things through while we were talking and currently his thoughts are that the problems are (surprise surpise) autoimmune in that digestion is hampered by the Sjogrens. He also thinks that I am producing too much adrenaline (autoimmune again) which affects multiple body systems.
I have been told to reduce the Lanzoprazole from 60mg to 15mg per day –and to be prepared for a bad time with “rebound” overproduction of stomach acid, and that I would be pretty much living on Gaviscon for a couple of weeks. Deep joy. I am also to double the dose of Atenolol which I already take at low dose to try to regulate my heart rate. Apparently Atenolol works by suppressing adrenaline production so, if it helps my nausea and stomach pain, it will prove his theory. And, if it doesn’t – well we know what it isn’t
I’m very relieved to have got the appointment over and feel a glimmer of hope that there is something else for me to try to help me feel at least a bit better.
Thanks again all.

Well Tilly that was a positive appt! The fact the G.P was working things through in his head as you explained everything means he is taking you seriously and has a plan to help you! The effects of reducing the lanzoprazole sound horrible but if it helps you in the long run it's worth it! The doubling of the Atenolol to help with the nausea and stomach pain is something I've never heard of but if it does the job your G.P thinks it will then great! So I agree with you there's a glimmer of light in the distance and your G.P is trying to get you there! He sounds a top G.P!! You can start to relax alittle now, I'm pleased for you. (((HUGS)))0
