A brief update - Lucy is hoping to go into school again this afternoon for a maths lesson. Maths on a Friday afternoon: my idea of a hell on earth but luckily Lucy (who is far more mature and sensible than me) sees it differently.
Isn't she fabulous? I quite happily blame the mother. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Hello Frogmella, Christine, Joan, Barbara, Sticywicket, Bubbadog toady and the migs (and anyone else who I forgot  )
I hope you are all well
Thank you DD for keeping everyone in the loop
Lucy has had a great week, went into school twice once for English and once for maths. She had a fall on Monday, but we haven't told school as she's worried they will not want her there again :? Friday's lesson is ground floor.
She also had some platelets this week, but apart from that and bloods has been really well She's eating more each day and will soon be on a normal diet I think
Next week she has to go in on Tuesday for EEG to see Epilepsy nurse specialist then Clinic to see the consultant (discuss maintenance then too???) and then for a line flush and dressing change
It will be a long day, but if all goes according to (my ) plan maybe she will have more time at home
Tia's bf called round twice this week to pick up stuff for her as he is visiting today. She rang us last night and will be back Friday for a charity do we are going to by one of Lucy's friends for Cure Leukaemia.
Thanks to you all
Love and ((()))

I'm sorry I haven't been on this thread for ages
Doesn't mean I'm not thinking of you and Lucy.....tech problems plus some appointments of my own
The forum has been very "iffy" so lets hope it lets me post this
I hope Lucy is OK after her fall??
Its great that she is going to school....Maths  what a brave girl.....but we know that anyway
Hope she is soon eating properly

Thank you Hileena, Christine and Joan
Thank you for taking the time to read this
Lucy did well again yesterday. Ate well and had a choccy milkshake and oddly enough a star*ucks chiiled latte from Te*co.
She also did some bike riding on one of those 'on the floor' ones that you can use for your arms too.
....and she sat on the exercise ball for half an hour watching Britain's got talent (or the X factor????) good for her weak core strength which she needs to build up to prevent falls at school.
No visible damage, but she had the wheatie on her back that night - l think she had pulled a muscle
The sun is out so a lovely day ahead I hope

That daughter of yours is such a star! She's so determined to do the best she can to help herself. Those big 'sit-on' balls are supposed to be very good for core muscles. I use an i-joy ride machine for the same purpose.
I think you're probably right and she's overdone it a bit but she certainly has the right attitude. Come on, LucyIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Toni
That's great news.
Those balls are very good for your core muscles.
I've got one of those bike things only mine get used for my arms more than anything.......bat wings
A Starbucks Latte"!!! mmmm!!!
I've just come back from Starbucks and I had a "freebie" so instead of my usual cappuccino I decided to try the Pumkin Latte with loads of cream on the top. She said you might as well have a large one since its a freebie..... Of course I said no {like heck I did} It was fantastic
Send my love to Lucy

Thank you for updating with all the news.. there are some busy days there, hope all goes well Tuesday and you can cut things relatively short as hoped..
sorry about the little fall & hope the pulled muscle eases quickly.. brilliant progress with the eating as for the trips into school what can I say.
Best as always xx and will call in & see how things are going after Tueday's 'discussions', glad Tia can visit on Friday and hope the 'do' is a big success.0 -

They survived Tuesday - a very busy day - and now Frog has all the meds they need at home to begin the maintenance phase on Monday. Maintenance sounds somewhat easy but it isn't - still many meds at various times with hospital visits monthly and three-monthly, but after the past few months that will seem like a luxury, yes?
Good luck you two, we're still with you and will be all the way, OK? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hugs to all. Mig0

I'm so pleased to read she is going back to school here and there, even maths can be a delight when you have been away from your friends for so long.
She'll soon build up her core strength I'm sure.
Hope the charity event goes well and you both have fun and raise lots of many for such a good cause.

Hello you two. I hope it's going OKIf at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hello to you all
Stickywicket (that ijoy ride looks fabulous!!) Barbara Toady and Joan. Christine Elizabeth mig and Hileena
Thank you DD for the update for everyone.
Maintenance starts Monday with steroids (dexamethazone) for 5 days, vincristine (IV chemo) and mercaptopurine (chemo tablets at home every day). The MTX is on Wednesdays (no folic acid )). Intrathecals are only 3-monthly
To start with she will have weekly blood tests - LUXURY!!!!! (but essential in-case she gets neutropenic and can't safely go into school etc)
this phase consist of 3 monthly blocks of which she will have at least 7 so a long haul, but easier
YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 'do' was lovely it was great to get the chemo-crew back together minus of course the lovely Pagan, but her Mum and Dad were there which was important for us all.
I will fill you all in on the money raised when I hear.
Lucy won a bear as big as herself
Also £32 worth of vouchers for....a vineyard!!!! :? We'll have to see whether she can use it when she gets to 18
Tia won a £25 voucher for John Lewis.
I came home with a bad throat/cold not sure but using 'first defence' in-case and sending Paul to fetch face masks for me before I go into Lucy. I have no voice today.
and we meant the 'Cure Leukaemia' chap who wants to do a video of Lucy for the charity. So you'll all be able to see her soon
I hope you are all well and enjoying this rain
love
