    Yes Lucy does come across as very determined and I do know who she gets it from - her mother. You are just as strong as she is. xx

    Toni you and Lucy are a team and a strong one..so very glad to hear that Lucy is now getting stronger and getting out and about..I bet she felt so good working with Paul...and going to the hairdresser..the normal things young people do ..it will all give her a boost and that helps her immune..sorry to go on but I am so pleased for you..(((())) xx

    How lovely that you are able to make plans and move forward after such a gruelling year.

    She might feel she has lost a year of her life but I bet she appreciates everything so much more and will grab every opportunity that comes her way.

    Good Morning to you all

    It is chilly!!

    Lucy is a happy bunny because Charley stayed the night with her in her big bed :)

    How has this week been?

    Well on Tuesday we went to Birmingham in the evening for a haircut! Arranged by the TCT and free obviously we went. Not a great deal of hair to cut, but they removed the 'random bits' and gave some advice to her.

    Charley had come with me so I was able to take her out for her dinner and we all drove home in the dark to driving snow :shock:

    She also visited her Granddad (on her Father's side) in hospital (doing well) and we have short-listed colleges to look at.

    Finally we have heard back from the neurologist who says she can have hypnotherapy for her needle phobia :) So I shall now contact the two recommended to us.

    Thank you all so much for thinking of her/us.

    This thread still haves me bawl :oops:

    Hello my lovely, it's good to hear from you with the update. I can understand why Lucy might feel that she has lost a year but I agree with your summation. It's been tough all round, and you have all been sorely tested, but you've come through with more than flying colours.

    So, she's had a haircut! :D Bless her, I am so pleased it's growing back and I hope their advice helps that process to carry on with vigour. I hope you are all having a good weekend and, as usual, I send much love, positive thoughts and many hugs. ((( ))) xxx DD

    Christine I am afraid to drive in the snow :? They have their monthly get together this Tuesday coming too so I am trying to get out of that one if I can....

    DD - yes a haircut!!! She had the least hair there, but in my personal opinion was the most gorgeous of course :wink: They reckoned another trim in two months time and I hope then maybe we can be looking at a 'style' of some sort :)

    Aw Joan all the sensible things are thanks to me. Avoiding crowds, eating well, drinking enough, taking meds etc are due to me, but Lucy is a tough cookie and Dr Tim??? What can I say he is Lucy's hero :D

    One of Lucy's friends came over last night. Her Mum drove then to Mcd's where they had a Mcflurry and then they came home and ordered a curry in!!! Her Mum fetched her about 11. Gosh that's late for me!!!!

    I could hear to much laughter that I could not be cross at all, (Charley and Tia were doing it I suppose at her age - but they had their health), and she is after all 17 now!!!

    She can lie-in this morning too

    Oh Frog, driving in falling snow is not fun, far from it: I think it's the way it appears to 'leap' towards the windscreen which is so disconcerting, plus the fact we are not used to it. :( As for being a sensible mum, well, I had one of those but neither of us faced the challenges that you and your gorgeous girl have dealt with. You are both to be admired, plus the support crew of the family.

    I have never had a McFlurry - :oops: - it may be time to change my ways! :wink: I hope that you have all had a good day and I send much love. DD

    I don't even know what it is :oops: I'm a McD virgin. Never been in one and never regretted it.
