earlier I remembered a snack that I had when I used to diet years ago. Sliced tomato, sliced onion with dried mixed herbs and olive oil. Just had some with ryvita and cottage cheese, its delicious and really tasty but not fattening at all!
Tomorrow off to get some natural yoghurt to mix with mint and cucumber, might also add a bit of garlic - I think that its the strong tastes that stop me feeling hungry and wanting sweet stuff.

Of course you can join us Karen -- the more the merrier, we will help you as much as we can as long as you promise to help us!

can I join you all, operation 4 6 weeks and been told to lose weight. I have at the moment gone up to 14.3 stones.

But my trouble is I am not a good eater. Fruit and fibre for brekkie, yogurt and small mouse for lunch, tea time I usually have cheese on toast or another bowl of cereal, scrambled eggs or something rediculas like that. Not very interested in food much.

    But I must lose weight.

Right, chicken and ginger for next Sat evening! Sounds good.

I have been aiming for 1500 calories, diet lady says 2000, so with cheating on portion control it creeps up to 2000 and a bit which is why I have been stuck on 15 stone for two months now. We'll get there.

Been out on bike twice today, hurt my hip, hard to move now, dunno how that happened.

Don't worry about what we are now, just look forward to what we will become.

I think 2000 calories is a bit high to loose weight I think that is the normal daily intake for a woman. What you have to consider is that you have to burn off more than you take in but it has to be nutritious as well. I know both fat and thin people who are being treated for malnutrition.

    Morning Jilly,
Trouble is, I was 6'tall, osteoporosis has brought me down to 5'9" and I'm struggling to readjust. I was 16.5stone and now 15 and I would like to get down to 13 and a bit, which I think is realistic, it really is a slow process and one I seem to need to renew every few months.

I have always been hungry! and greedy, probably. So, a good opportunity to join in and shed some more weight. I'm not really up on calories, my breakfast is (shreddies) about 200, lunch is about 3-400(dry biscuits at 20cal each and some sardines/smoked mackerel), I do drink lots of yorkshires best.

Well I have to admit that when the girls have gone to school we got into a habit of having a hot choc. I've now stopped that and at the moment have sat down to a glass of water. Yummy I dont think but good for you I suppose.

I did really well yesterday but last thing at night I took 2 biscuits up to bed. I was a bit stressed as children not getting to sleep and started messing about.

Yes it is very good and I suppose that this lovely weather is helping us too. We all seem to have a fair bit to lose so its going to take time and there will be slip ups on the way, but it doesn't matter cos we are here for the duration and will just keep supporting and motivating each other until we all eventually reach our target weight.

I am really ready for this now especially having so much support and ideas from all of you. Surely by monday we should all lose a bit. But I do know that sometimes your weight will take maybe a couple of weeks before you started seeing it come off. So we must not be down hearted.

    Good luck

as long as i dont put on it will be possitive, and if i loose 1/2 a week i will be happy, anything more is a bonus. little steps mean no big falls and disapointments.

thankyou for all the support shown so far, some times the hardest thing is just starting and sticking with the first couple of weeks,

    good luck everyone xxx

    Hi everyone
I can't believe how beautiful it has been today - I have even managed a walk with my dog, we are both very slow though so the walk that should have probably taken about half an hour has taken an hour and a half - not to worry though it must have burnt some calories off!!!!
Talking of calories today I have had fruit & fibre for brakfast, Ryvita cottage cheese and a banana for lunch and I have just had a lovely Ham salad with a slice of bread.Followed by a w.w yoghurt
I have chopped up some cucumber and mixed with mint and natural youghurt and already prepared some celery and carrot sticks to nibble on later tonight instead of the usual rubbish I nibble on
Hope you are all feeling well and positive about your new eating plans

    Morning everyone
Hope that you are all well and that your eating plans are going well. This lovely weather is helping me along as I am quite happy to have salads and not grab for the stodgy comfort foods I crave in the dark cold miserable winter months -- We put the clocks forward this weekend so we get even extra daylight hours --yipee. The downside for me is that I have to work on Sunday morning so will in essence be getting up at 5 instead of six! but its a price worth paying!
Is anyone having any real problems adjusting to healthier eating? I must admit that I am still having a glass of wine.... Originally I was going to cut it out all together but decided that this would be my "Treat" at the end of the day.
    Keep up the good work!

    Hiya,
The longer hours will be most welcome, a touch more warmth wouldn't go amiss! Its portion control and exercise I need, although in the last six months since I've had my electric bike, 5-20mile rides, about 3-4 times a week. Although something must be not right otherwise the weight would have fallen off?

Well the battery from the weighing scales went missing a few weeks back. Today I tried on some jeans, a pair that fitted when I bought them a few weeks back and now they don't fit. So I must be over 12 stone. I'm supposed to be wearing them to a wedding on Sat so have had to order a bigger pair.Otherwise it will be joggers as usual.
The wedding is a Goth wedding so anything goes!

    hello all.

Cath, just wanted to say, why shouldn't you have a little treat as long as on everything else you are being good. When I was a lot younger I was put on a diet by a dieticien, and she told me that as long as I was good I could have a treat of 2 fingers of kit kat every day. So don't take away everything

there is no harm in a treat day val, it does you good sometimes. there is nowt worse than making yourself miserable and not being able to join in because of callories. i have a hen do i have to attend on saturday, i will not worry about food/drink as its only once in a while and not an everyday thing.

keep smilling and keep your ocasional treats,

Just had a small lasagne with the last of the spag bog sauce, very nice, OH is not convinced by the quorn, I enjoyed it, it does seem to soak up some of the liquids but tasty.

My DIL just suggested a change of foods to stop the body getting used to one type and not digesting as well. i.e. instead of shreddies, have porridge one day then something else till I get back to original.

    Any comments on this??
