    Hello Jilly

I haven't received anything since your first one, I did send you one but I think maybe I did it wrong.

I am a lousy eater anyway, no interest really in food since my mum passed away, but I have stopped my hot chocs and choc now, maybe thats all I needed. We shall see Monday.

You are doing really well, keep it up

Hi Karen , I didnt get your message. You seem to of got your diet going now it is a good amount to lose was'nt it 2 1/2 pounds in the week? that is good for a sensible diet. I have so much to lose i needed to get it going i havent been this heavy for years. As i said i was 20 stone years ago and then stayed around 13 but after starting with underactive thyroid i have gone back up and was nearly 16 so i really do need to get it off, I dont walk very well with the arthritis and my joints cant stand it , already had to have 2 repalaced .
I am so sorry about your mum , I lost my mum a few years ago after nursing her for 6 months. I know how horrible it is and what it does to your body .
Lets hope we all get down to a healthy weight see you on Monday for the weigh in . ...................jilly

There's an article in the Telegraph this morning saying that weight loss is linked to altering your sleep patterns. Scientists have found that to be successful in losing those pounds that we need between 6-8 hours sleep per night, this in turn is associated with lower stress levels. Any more sleep produces a level of inactivity.

It is recommended that a diary is kept of your stress levels including your sleep amount, I suppose this will give records and stop any actions being anecdotally lead?. So, there you are, low stress levels and between 6-8 hours of sleep gives a 2-1 factor of success over those that are hyper and don't rest.

Right I'm off back to bed!

    Hi everyone
I hope you are all wellish this morning. I am trying to be really good on my diet, but for the last couple of days I have had massive cravings for rubbish stuff, crisps, fry ups, beefburgers, chips and so on. I have resisted!!!! but fruit and salad & veg just don't cut the mustard. I fancy Meat and potato Pie at the moment - not for the meat or potato but for the thick delic pastry with lashings of thick gravy ........Help!!!!!!!!

The cravings are a stealth way of the body maintaining its supply of calories, it is natural and well known. I seem to remember you have to fool the stomach and hence your mind that it is full, soup takes longer to digest etc etc .

I have been permanently hungry for years, its not easy to deal with is it? I used to smoke for a long time which goes some way to deal with the cravings, but that too is Baddddddddd! Drinking water works to some extent. Eat less, I suppose, and sooner or later the stomach will shrink and then demand less?

Yay...I found the Diet Club! I will be visiting often, particularly after I see a dietitian on 12 May. I have tried everything and nothing works except eating less and doing at least 2 hours of strenuous exercise every day. The problem is I can't do the exercise anymore. Will be asking dietitian if I can have a test for my thyroid. I've always felt the amount of exercise I have to do in order to lose anything seems a little much!

Have any of you heard of the Happy Weight programme? I am going to go back to that once I've spoken to the dietitian. The idea is to get back in touch with your appetite. We lose our connection to it as we grow up and food becomes more than simply fuel to keep us going. When I first tried the programme, I lost 1 stone in 4 weeks. The great thing about it is that it teaches you to understand the whole situation. It is a fairly expensive programme, but I highly recommend it. It helps you understand your relationship with food as well.

Re meds and constipation - I have found a bowl of muesli with extra raisins every day does the job for me! And it's not a naughty snack, so it's not a problem.

But the trouble is I didnt loss any weight even though i was on the medication. So I have gone on atkins diet and lost 10ibs up in the last 2 and a half weeks , I am feeling much better already.
We all get weighed on a monday, hope you decide to join us as the more that join the better it is , we can all help each other .................jillyx

Half a 1b off this week!!!!!!

Only a small loss but least its in the right direction! Have majorly struggled this week as have had a very nasty bout of flare ups so its easier just to pick than cook!

As you may know i do Slimming world and have been mostly eating Bacon (all visible fat cut off) egg, beans, mushrooms and wholemeal toast filling me up (well until my steriods start their hunger campain) all fried in Fry light completely free on the extra easy plan!

Also had cheesy chicken wrapped in bacon with loads of veg was lovely and filled me up!

hope everyone is ok by the way

The lovely thing is you can eat anything you like - but you have to pay very close attention to what your body tells you. After a couple of days, because you don't HAVE to deny yourself, it becomes a non-issue. There is no diet involved - it's about getting back to basics. She explains that when we were babies, we ate what we needed but no more. The appetite told us when to stop. But, as we grow, food becomes more than nutrition - it becomes a reward, a consolation, a social event, etc., etc. Have you ever noticed that after about half of what's on your plate has been consumed, you cease to taste it as sharply as when you started? That is your appetite telling you you've had enough. I know it sounds crazy, but it does work. And she has you work with your thought processes too. It's all on a CD, along with another CD that is hypnosis. She has a website. It's expensive, but then it's not something you have to buy anything else in order to use it!

    Morning healthy eaters
I cannot believe that it is Friday already! I am not confident about any weight loss this week. I have been good though, not had any crisps, chips sweets, cake or fried things I just dont feel as if I have lost anything....will just have to wait and see on the Monday weigh in Lol.

Hope that you are all doing good - we are now in April so we are definately on a count down to the summer! When we will all be much slimmer and looking Fab!
